It’s pricy for what it is but I’m super glad there’s a healthier option in the food court! I have enjoyed their Asian greens salad a lot, the dressing is like a teriyaki soy sauce dressing. I also like the taco salad but it’s just a bit plain. All in all, it’s a nice little lunch spot if you want something light!

I love Sumosalad! Everytime I’m in South Bay, I make sure to stop here and get something to eat because it’s healthy and it tastes very good. I love the salads they have made up fresh daily and the Jones Soda Fountain in the best. You can taste the quality. It’s nice to have this great option in the food court.

Sumo Salad is alright. I ordered the Firecracker Chicken(which was good) and girlfriend got the Satay Beef(very bland). That’s all well and fine but I’m going to have to call them out on SELLINGVONSCOOKIES. I personally witnessed an employee take a plastic container with a VONS label on it and fill the cookie jar. Please tell me more about how everything is made«In-House».

Nice Aussie transplant for mall food options. It’s essentially a deli, with a fusion twist. I think the flavors at Sumo Salad is good, for the few things I’ve tried, but they are all very very saucy, which makes it salty for some of the items. I’d suggest ordering sauce on the side first to add it in yourself. Service was okay. Only two people were working on a weekday night so it took awhile for them to make what I wanted. The other item a few more people were there, but I think they were newer hires so they were checking all the recipes.

Amazing food! Fresh, organic and healthy. Scott the manager is a great guy to work with. This place also does catering. We ordered lunch for our office. We got a selection of 3 medium size salads and assorted wraps. Everyone at the office loved the food! So fresh and delicious. Its about time there is some healthy, organic options around Del Amo and in the South Bay for that matter! If your at the mall or need catering please check this place out. It was really easy to pick up and he helped us out with it too.

Went here on a whim with a friend because we were at the mall and starving. We circled the food court and ended up here. Our visit was on a very busy Wed afternoon around 115p. The wraps and the fact that there was no line is what drew us in initially. I went with the Chicken Mexicana Wrap and made it a combo. The combo included a fountain drink with a choice of about 5 – 6 Jones Soda Co. branded flavors. One small issue I had with their menu was that there was a lack of item description. Instead we are presented with a glass case of various made to order salads and the rest of the menu items on a bored with pictures of the item. Luckily, I am not incredibly picky, but I would imagine customers asking the cashiers what is in each item would be time consuming. Not to mention increase wait times in line. Speaking of the line, where does it start and/or end. My friend and I were just a little confused as to who was next with the mall already being so crowded. Back to my wrap, haha. My wrap(from what I can guess) had chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, brown rice, corn, avocado, and some sort of dressing that brought all together. Man was it delicious! It was a fairly large portion too. I ended up taking the other half back to work to demolish later that night. To be completely honest the flavor packed into that wrap is what will be bringing me back to try other items. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot if you are a little health conscious or just wanna try something new. Lots of food choices and customizable options as well. Look forward to trying it again soon.

What would I do if this place wasn’t right dead smack in the middle of Del amo mall? Eat pizza? Eat Chinese food? Finally a healthy option I could count on when I need to spend a lot of time here shopping. I’ve had all of the wraps here, I recommend the chicken Caesar wrap, created all with fresh ingredients right in front of you. The free cucumber water is a tasty way to wash it all down. Very friendly service here, never had a bad experience. Just my wrap was just over $ 10 but what are you going to do? It’s the mall.

This place is ok. Friendly service, good flavors, large portions and I like that it’s semi healthy. The only problem is I’ve eaten here 3 times now, tried something new each time, and all of the things I got had so much dressing that it made the food soggy. The Mexican wrap was like mush in a tortilla. Now I’m eating the pesto chicken salad. The pesto is yummy and their chicken tastes fresh but again, it’s so heavily dressed that the greens are all wilted. It makes the salad almost in edible. I guess I will just have to stray away from the salads or ask for dressing on the side. I’m open to suggestions? I love their water with lemon grass and ginger. The cookies are yummy too.

I love their food a lot, the only problem I would have is the line. It’s pretty confusing, nobody knows where it actually begins and I ended up getting cut in front of. But anyways the food is great. P. S. The girl with the green hair is gorgeous, and she looks mean but when you talk to her she’s pretty nice! #rbf but she’s hot x)

I had high hopes for this place when I saw the colorful salads and cleverly decorated displays. But, we were disappointed with the food. Let’s start off with the good: 1. Great customer service — she was friendly and provided great guidance on what to choose 2. Beautiful displayed salads and menu 3. Wide variety of options including pasta salads 4. Organic and fresh ingredients Now the bad… my teriyaki salmon bowl was terrible. Maybe the person who assembled it was new? The rice and quinoa was swimming in teriyaki sauce… it was like eating a mountain of salt. And, I love salt, but this is more than I can take. My husband got the satay beef bowl which was ok, but was super mushy. Overall, I love the concept, but the execution of the food was terrible.

Came here for the first time today for an early lunch… SOGOOD. There’s 3 different options. First one being you can choose from the deli of pre made pastas and salads. Can choose a small thru large. Second option, you can choose from different salads, bowls and wraps that are created by SumoSalad. Again can choose small thru large. And third option is to create your own! I went with the first option and chose from the deli pre made salads and pastas. I got the salmon pepper salad, and the chicken pasta. And got a medium size. Cost me $ 7.95! Not bad at all. And its good, healthy and I have left overs

Edited review after a not so friendly response from Mat Yurdisky From Sumo Salad After an insult from what I must assume is the management at Sumo Salad, I firmly stick by my review for one star. I appreciate his passion for his restaurant but his customer service is lacking. I now know why the employees share the same demeanor. If you would like a breakdown of the one star rating here is it. Five stars — I don’t easily hand out five stars unless the experience and food was had exceeded expectations of any dining experience I had before. Let’s start at four stars. Deduct a star from employees product knowledge. When asked what was the most popular item sold?, she simply stated«I don’t know prefers on what you like» Okay, as Mat Y. took pride in informing me that the chicken was from a free range farm, or grass fed cow nurtured the the best quality of life. Thanks for that by the way Mat. It’s nice to know how fresh you meat is that flew in from 5,000 miles from AUSTRALIA. I don’t know how fresh meat could be when it is exported overseas. Please save the now trending ‘our food is fresh’ speech. Now at three stars, deduct a star when we received our food. Yes, I counted the number of employees working. 10. All of which two were having a conversation about the grand opening. That’s great. As I’m standing here in need of assistance. They stared and continued on with their conversation. Great customer service.(Sarcasm) There was no meat in not one but both bowls. I understand people make mistakes but it seemed this happens often because the girl was not surprised when I went back to the counter to inform them. To only find out the the salmon and satay beef were precooked chunks placed in aluminum canister. Now, let’s talk about food made fresh to order??? Really Mat? So now we are at two stars. Deduct half a star for the flavor of food. Deduct half a star for pricing. $ 30 isn’t a lot of money of course, but $ 30 is expensive in a sense that I’m at a food court at a mall and I just had salad with no meat tossed in too much ‘organic dressing’ One star review-sounds harsh I know. But furthermore if I could deduct one more star for the response of management, I would. That was just a horrible response and frankly quite immature. My review is a form of criticism, in which you should take constructively. I look forward to meeting you in person to claim my unwanted dollars. To my fellow Unilocalers, I highly suggest you take your money elsewhere. As Management informed me, they would like us to take our business elsewhere.

Torrance was definitely missing its build-your-own-salad spot. I’ve always loved Simply Salad in dtla, and I’m glad Sumo Salad ended up at the Del Amo Mall food court. It’s apparently an Australian-based salad spot with over 160 locations, so the made fresh to order salads were great. I got the GRILLEDSALMONSALAD, which consisted of grilled salmon, avocado, cucumber, red onion, tomato, carrots, dill, mixed leaf lettuce with seeded mustard dressing. I highly recommend this salad if you love salmon. The salmon is very flavorful and you don’t have to worry about it tasting dry. My mom got the build your own salad and got the kale/quinoa base salad with salmon, sliced almonds, beets, asian slaw, tomatoes, cucumbers, cilantro, parsley, sesame seeds, with lemon juice and roasted garlic. She really enjoyed her salad. Both salads were really tasty, fresh, and different from any other salad place we’ve been to. I do not recommend the deli food. I noticed a lot of people sampled the deli items and left. I would’ve left too if I hadn’t given a chance to the salads instead. GETTHESALAD! The portions are huge as well. The people that work there are new and still training, so I can’t hate too much on the inefficiency of the staff. They were really sweet and friendly. However, the salad station was messy to the point where I questioned the sanitariness of the food. Also, the person handing out the deli samples needs to wear gloves, but the person doing that today was not. I also saw the salad station person grabbing for the tip jar with the same gloves used to make the food. If the food hadn’t tasted so good and the service wasn’t friendly, I probably would’ve given a lower rating. However, since they’re new and still working out the kinks, I will keep it at a 4-star rating. I would definitely go back, so hopefully the training will be worked out by then!

Shopping at Del Amo Fashion Center and worked up a mean appetite. Didn’t want the usual mall food. So I was going to leave and grab something on the way home. Walked by the food court and saw a new spot called SUMOSALAD. Holy crap! Couldn’t decide on what to have in the display area. The gal that was helping me said«just try a sample.» Soooo 5 samples later… hehe. I Had a «pick 3» order. Decided on the Chicken mustard penne, lemon pepper salmon and basil chicken penne! Farm raised chickens, organic ingredients and locally bought from farmers markets. Not only was it full of flavor and delicious. It was healthy! The container it came in was so full and jam packed!!! They aren’t shy with the portions. No wonder they call it sumo salad lol! Had so much food leftover. Had dinner handled for the night. I also had a fresh young coconut. It was so refreshing! It was so young, I was able to peel off the meat. What a perk! Next time I will try the jones soda or cold pressed juice. I’ll be making more visits here to this spot. If you are considering this place. Stop considering and TRYIT!!!

This place is awesome!!! Everything was super fresh, and the service was spot on. I came here the opening week, and they rocked it. The owners were even behind the counter making sure everything was running smoothly, and making sure the guest experience was a pleasant one. I had the fruit salad, a pasta salad, and the beef and cheese(forgot the name of the cheese, but it was sooooo good) salad. I also got one of their ice cream sandwiches, I’m telling you, everything was delicious! If I’m ever in the area I’m definitely coming back! Thank you sumo salad for giving us healthy options in such a fast food environment!

Health nuts and aspiring health nuts… Are you kidding me? This place is heaven sent! We were shopping in the Del Amo fashion center mall while on a vacation, Went to the food court. I expected the usual Panda Express, McDonald’s, etc, nothing healthy. Then we found this place called Sumo salad. They are amazing, with ready to go salads, it’s made to order designer & gourmet salads. You health nuts know about Super foods; Kale, free range chicken, wild salmon, quinoa, chia seeds and a bunch of organic stuff. If you’re a «Whole foods» fan this is your stop!’ We had the firecracker chicken bowl and the teriyaki salmon bowl. The price was about 9 bucks, so reasonable and tasteful. You get a couple of styles: 1) already made gourmet and displayed, scoop and go! 2) made custom to order. Pick your, greens, meat etc. The portions were extremely generous and filling. Imagine café Rio on steroids and with more selection. We need this in Utah soon!

I’ve been waiting for this place to open because all the other food options at the food court are not the healthiest. Upon reading the reviews in advance from Unilocal,I was a little skeptical and thought that it would be a unhealthy version of eating salads. At around $ 10+ you can get a reasonably sized meal. Pros: — Design your Own: You pick a size, choose a base(quinoa, kale, etc.), choose your basics(carrots, corn, tomatoes, cheese, etc.), choose a protein(grass fed beef, free range chicke, etc.), choose a herb and lastly pick a dressing(on the side or tossed). I love this option because you can pretty much make it however you want and it was delicious! — Thai Beef — Delicious! I had the opportunity to sample this and I thought it was going to be heavily dressed, but it was not at all and I am a person that likes my salads without any dressing! If you are worried about your salad being overdressed, then simply make your own, or ask for a sample before you purchase! They also offer delicious drink options and real coconuts! I will be visiting this place often because the portions were actually very generous at the price and quality of the food! A great healthy, quick lunch or dinner option when you’re at the mall or even nearby!

Finally this place opened after seeing there. SumoSalad has custom salad but I stuck with what was on the menu which was Thai Beef salad. This place is a little slow though but eh the salad was good. She asked if I was allergic to peanuts and I said no. So for people who are allergic to peanuts make sure they leave it out. There was just enough dressing in the salad which is a plus too. They have lemon flavored water.

SumoSalad is a new addition to Del Amo Center food court. It serves grass fed beef and free range chicken. It also offers fresh coconuts, which are incredibly delicious. Bf and I had the Lemon Pepper salad. The smallest container was $ 7.50. It’s pricey, but the quality is distinct. The Del Amo Center is probably not the best place for SumoSalad as the demographics are not likely to appreciate quality over quantity. I loved the SumoSalad. The Lemon Pepper salad was dreamy.

Im so mad at this salad! I ordered the pick #2 with southwestern chicken salad & lemon pepper salmon salad. The southwestern was just horrible, overdressed and soggy even jack n the box has a better southwestern salad. The lemon pepper salmon was a tad bit better but not great. I was really disappointed at the quality of this salad, also overdressed and has too much cheese. This salad was overpriced, for the price I paid I’d expect something yummy. I didn’t even finish my salad, yeah it was that bad. Not coming back to this spot. Probably building your own salad would be better, but I’d rather not waste money here again.
