I am pleasantly surprised by this little local coffee shop. I went here one day while driving up to the Farmer’s Market, honestly because there was no Starbucks in sight. I had my daughter in tow. She had a bagel with cream cheese and, according to her, the best strawberry smoothie she has ever had. I had a caramel macchiato and man was is amazing! Just the presentation of the coffee was to die for. The whole experience for pretty awesome. The man behind the counter, who I can only assume with the owner, was so nice and accommodating to my picky lightly toasted bagel daughter. The rustic desert charm of the décor is spot on and the clear regulars at the other table was a hoot! I have been recommending this place to everyone! I am disappointed in myself for not coming here sooner!

I seriously love how friendly the staff is and I am absolutely in love with the Jittery Javelina! I once read a review that Crave Coffee had the smoothest coffee. I think whomever wrote that needs to try Roadrunner Coffee, because I’ve tried Crave and I can barely taste the coffee. With Roadrunner I can taste the coffee, but it’s not overpowering and it’s perfectly blended and roasted. I do definitely recommend and love this place!

SUPPORTSMALLBUSINESSES!!! I am all for coffee shops that aren’t Starbucks. and this place has some yummy coffee. Of course, the prices are great! I had my coworker pick me up an iced Jittery Javelina… it wasn’t anything that knocked my socks off, but I have faith. There were so many reviews that it was people’s favorite, plus it’s one of their specialties so you have to try it. Someone said it was a perfect«sweetness» level, I disagree. I would have ordered it a little less sweet, but that’s okay, I have made note for next time. Also, their pastries are amazing. I got the bear claw. It was delicious, and fresh, and WAY big. I definitely ate it in 2 sittings. This place has a lot of potential. I am excited to return and experiment with some different drinks and find my favorite.

We went in on a whim because the burro place next door was closed and I must say I am SO glad we did! The atmosphere is fantastic and the ladies working were super friendly and helpful. My husband enjoyed his organic coffee and they make a killer hot chai tea latte! I also had a cherry turnover which was yumtastic(yes that’s a word in my world)! We will totally return and I have added this place to my list of places to have my church’s women’s ministry events :)

Prices are too high. Wait is too long, even at random times of the day and even when there’s nobody else in the shop. Coffee is mediocre. That being said, THEYHAVE A DRIVE-THRU. And good iced tea(especially the earl grey). Those are the only reasons I keep going back. The owner works there most mornings and remembers your face. He makes sarcastic comments and knows your order. I like him. Food is pretty good, but awfully heavy. The breakfast sandwiches are really greasy. Lunch tends to be a bit lighter, but they buy whatever chips are on sale at Sam’s Club… sometimes you’ll get good ones; other times, you’re stuck with really awful ones. #firstworldproblems It’d be 3 stars if the coffee prices weren’t even higher than Starbucks’s and the sandwiches weren’t more expensive than Panera’s(while neither item is as good in quality as those at the chains). I’d also bump it to 3 stars if the coffee wasn’t always over-roasted and over-brewed… after 3 years of Roadrunner being on the right side on my way to work, I now go out of my way to find something else whenever I’m early enough to do so. On the other hand, it’d be 1 star if it wasn’t locally owned. I’d also bump it down if the staff wasn’t great or if they didn’t display funky local art all over the place. If their tea wasn’t good enough that I have a perfectly acceptable coffee substitute, that’d bump it down too. If I’m out of time on my way to work, I won’t sacrifice caffeine out of spite for Roadrunner… In conclusion, Roadrunner is better than«meh,» but not«a-ok.» I NEEDHALF-STARS, Unilocal!!!

One of my favorite morning stops. Great people, great atmosphere, menu has a variety. It’s so much better to support local and the organic coffee is so good!

This coffee shop is so charming. It’s clean the staff is friendly and there are games, wifi, and an HDTV set to sports for those who would like to make it an extended stay. There are high top tables, regular tables and comfy chairs. The coffee is bold and wonderful, the breakfast sandwich delicious.

Nice place, friendly staff, but coffee is not very good. I did a blind taste on my wife with next door McDonald’s coffee. Roadrunners lost

Good coffee and they had an awesome deal on their breakfast sandwich. I tried their blueberry scone which I wasn’t a fan of, everything else was good!

Where has this place been??? Just now found this place and I LOVE it. It’s the perfect place to chill out and have one of their great drinks. The employees have always been nice and have a smiling, helpful attitude. The sandwiches are all made with fresh ingredients and full of flavor… My favorite is the chicken salad but I’m sure as I continue to try more it’ll change. I’ve never been such a fan of the organic coffee, but Roadrunner’s is fantastic. One cup and done, my friends!

Love, love, love Roadrunner! I have never met a «mom and pops» coffee place I liked better. The owner is super awesome(and also looks, sounds and acts like Bill Murray, which takes it to a whole next level of rad). All the kids that work there are very friendly and helpful — it’s a very comfortable cozy vibe. We live near the Savaya Dove Mountain location and it’s so cold and elitist(and frankly the coffee isn’t that great) — Roadrunner is the polar opposite. Their coffee drinks, smoothies and teas are fantastic, and their sandwiches are heaven. I Highly recommend the chicken salad or lemon pepper chicken sammie. Also had a blueberry muffin there that may have been the best I’ve ever had. Can’t go wrong here, it’s all great in a super friendly laid back environment!

I just moved here from Colorado Springs, Colorado a couple months ago and I was really surprised that Tucson does not have more local coffee shops in town. I live all the way on the west side, by Starr Pass, and I will drive all the way up to this place just to get coffee, even though there’s probably a hundred Starbucks’ near me. Their coffee is fantastic and they make it perfect every time. I love the Jittery Javelina!

Charming and cozy! Tried this place with a friend when our usual spot was closed unexpectedly and so glad to have found it. Located in the Safeway shopping center. So far I’ve only tried an Italian soda(my first!) But I expect to be back to try tea and a sandwich. Very reasonably priced too.

I discovered this place when I moved into the area and I’m in love. My very favorite is the Marana Mocha because it’s got a splash of mint. Friends and I have had several play dates there and it has been awesome because there is a small corner in the shop with coloring books and crayons and things for the kids to do so the moms and relax, talk, and get caffeinated. There’s also outside seating when the weather is good. This place also sells art from local artists. I was pining for these barbed wire crosses they sell there and my best friend just got it for me for my birthday from Roadrunner! They also have the cutest little milkshakes and smoothies for kids. It feels more like a local coffee shop where everyone is welcome than a chain. They also have a drive thru window, too, which is convenient. So back to the coffee, again, yum. And works great! At some chains it can be pretty weak but not at Roadrunner. Keeps me going all day! I love this place!

I was not expecting much from this place… Maybe 3 stars… It has been at this location for awhile… We took our 45 pound dog there and sat outside … Nice clean patio … Free wifi… The inside was very clean with lots of comfortable seating… Service was great as well… When they saw that we brought our dog they brought back a dog treat for him. the breakfast sandwich was great for 4 bucks and to my surprise came with fresh cut strawberries !!! One tip… The patio is west facing which means no sun in the morning… Great in the summer but you may wanna bring another layer if you wish to sit outside the rest of the year!!!

Roadrunner Coffee was a pleasant surprise for us on a day that we had no plans to try anything new! We happened upon this shopping center, and from a distance, I saw a sign for a coffee shop. It’s hard for me to pass up an opportunity to try some new coffee. This place is far from home for us, so we decided we had to go in while we were in the area. Upon walking in, you see a pretty large space with plenty of seating. It was very clean and colorful, and overall a welcoming space. The menu is presented right above the ordering counter, so it was easy to read. We were greeted right away by a friendly young man who took our order and answered our questions. He made our drinks right there in front of us while we waited. I had one of their«Signature Drinks», the«Jittery Javelina», which is espresso with caramel and vanilla flavoring in it. It was made really well. Not too sweet, but not so little flavored that you can’t taste the«specialty» part of the drink. The coffee had a good depth of flavor and didn’t taste watery at all. Overall, a really good drink that I would definitely get again. My husband had a strawberry Italian soda. Usually when he orders one of these, they’re very lightly flavored and basically just a cup of ice. Roadrunner didn’t skimp on the flavor or rip us off by giving us a cup full of ice. It was a nice surprise. And they’ll put whipped cream on it if you want! If you don’t want coffee, this is a good option. They also serve food, which we didn’t try. But, they advertise that they use Boars Head meats for their sandwiches, so I can’t imagine they’d be anything but decent at the very least! Their prices seemed ok, not too high but not a bargain, either. Overall, we will definitely return to Roadrunner Coffee, and it will be my first choice when I’m in the area! Thank you, Roadrunner Coffee, for giving me the chance to write a positive review for my first of 2014!
