Taco Giro is an authentic, and is definitely a hidden gem! Prices are reasonable and service is friendly. I enjoyed the enchiladas, which may be ordered a la carte. There’s complimentary chips and salsa, along with an entire salsa bar. The patio looks really nice, although it’d be nice if they had heat lamps for the cooler winter weather. The restaurant was bustling, and delicious aromas filled the air. I can’t wait to come back and try other menu items!

I tried this place for the first time and I wasn’t bad I had a shrimp cocktail with a michelada. The Michelada was good because or server Kimberley made it. She made my first experience great she’s kind, friendly and had a very nice smile! I think I might of fell in love lolz but I will be going back and I’m asking for Kimberly every time!

Food was okay but unfortunately the service was just bad. Once our food was brought to us nobody came back and it wasnt even very busy. No drink refills & she never brought the check, I had to go find her & ask for it. Won’t be going back.

I love their food! The Oysters are fresh, the flavor is great! They should just refill the salsa at the salad bar more often, caz they are so good!

We have eaten here dozens of times and everytime is wonderful. We usually get their fajitas, or their 5.99 lunch special wet burrito. Many times we have simply gone in for their fish taco special at lunch time, and they too are fantastic. Their lunch beef or chicken wet burrito is enough to get full, and take the rest home for another lunch or dinner. Today I decided to try their lunch buffet. 5.99 all you can eat, and it had some of the best chicken wings I’ve ever had. It does not taste like buffet food at all. There was cheese enchiladas, chicken wings, carmelos, a beef burrito, a big wet burrito, & a couple of other choices besides rice and beans. The service is always very friendly, they are always quick, food is hot, everything is perfect. I really do not understand the complaints. This is always our first choice for Mexican food on the northwest side and because it’s so economical, we keep going back.

Great staff, drinks are worth it, and the menu has everything on it. Our group was very satisfied with the service, drinks, and food.

I’m a fan with one reservation. first the good stuff… Good salsa bar with as much as you wanted… great choices, the bean type dip was delicious. Seafood tostados, the best, lots of good ingredients, plenty of fish, yummmm. A do-over warranted… except for below… still on the good stuff… The chili rellanos, my Moms favorite, she liked… good rice and beans on the dish my dad had and there was so much conversation going for this group of 6 adults and one child that my dads dish was gone and forgotten before I could ask him how it was. We came during happy hour that made us happy…$ 2.99 for margaritas, tasty but after two drinks we barely felt it, so not sure how much liquor was in it; or have I been drinking too much lately(no, I haven’t really… and seldom tequila…) The waitress was engaging and helpful until… Now the part we were very very disappointed in. My brother went to pay and told the waitress he was leaving the tip on the table. Turns out, it was already added in the bill. He did not notice this and it was not relayed when he mentioned to the waitress he was doing this. Hence, a 35% tip! Now, if he wanted to tip that much, no worries; but when you don’t know, it is not explained or mentioned anywhere we saw, it is a little shady. He told her he was and she had every opportunity to mention this. I know waitresses don’t make that much but it doesn’t make the ‘shadiness’ right either. My brother says«buyer beware»…it soured the good time we had. We are from out of town and perhaps for seatings’ of 6 and above this is routine but we had no way of knowing. Too bad this seems to be normal, we generally tip 20%, it has saved me $$(bummer for them) before but when you don’t know, it is an unsolicited hidden hefty tip. Buyer beware…

The carne en su jugo and The Molcajetes are Absolutely the best in Tucson! The green chili wet burritos are also very good. If you are looking for some good Mexican Food in Tucson you have to try Taco Giro!!!

This place is great!!! I ordered simple pork tacos and they came out super quick. The tacos are regular sized but packed full of guac, cilantro, lettuce, and meat. The bartender was super friendly even though my friends and I were pretty rowdy. They take Amex.

Wanted to check out a new mexican food join over the weekend. I heard some good things about this so we gave it a shot. Gotta say I left disappointed. They do have breakfast all day on the menu. The service was terrible, the food was just meh, nothing special, and the place was kinda dirty with plates still at empty tables and the bar. Really was not impressed at all with the food and it doesn’t even come close to being compared to Crossroads. I tried it once but will not be returning.

I wasn’t impressed. Slow service and mediocre food. Tucson is filled with great Mexican restaurants. Unfortunately taco giro is not one of them. I had the carne asada. The carne was decent and the tortillas were not very good.

What a change from our meal at another Mexican restaurant in Oro Valley last night! Super food as well as service from Daniel. The shrimp cocktail was fantastic with an overly generous portions of large shrimp. All four of us were silent for the first few minutes as we savored our meals. Truly great food/service and all agreed that five stars were warranted!

A bit disappointing. The food was actually pretty good… it was the service that was the problem. No smiles… no welcomes. There were two hostesses at the front counter and not once did either of them greet us. Our server sat us. With so many Mexican food restaurants in this town… just seems to me that excelling in customer service so you stand out would be the way to go. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here in the future. I like my dining experiences to leave me feeling like I was a valued customer. Service matters.

Taco Giro’s food is comfortably okay, like most other middling Mexican restaurants in town. Their tacos, both meat and fish, are fine, and their chile rellenos are okay. The giant stone cauldrons of meat and seafood are a fabulous gimmick and taste pretty good, albeit too salty. The salsa bar is nothing to write home about. The service was polite and attentive but, as many other reviewers have observed, the prices are excessive for the quality and quantity of food. Maybe they’re still paying off the photography bills left over from producing their colorful, Denny’s-style menu?

This is definitely a neighborhood joint in the Menlo Park area. This place is often busy and packed with large groups and families. Go there for everything from table side guacamole to fajitas, seafood(cocteles, whole fish, shrimp etc), fried tacos, enchiladas, and combo plates and traditional soups.

It’s time to give this Taco GIro an upgrade. The food has always been constantly good. All it was needed was the customer service to match how delicious they make the food. I’ve come here several times since my last review. Maybe its because I’ve been here so much and they make sure I’m taken care of, but the service has definitely picked up. The waitresses are very nice and friendly. There is a still an issue with them listening, but I believe it’s because of the language barrier. Make sure that if you want a particular dish without something or something added on, you have to be absolutely crystal clear. Otherwise, the dish will not come out the way you want it to. Aside from that, this a hole-in-the-wall joint that dishes out great food at a great price. All three locations are legit!

Best Fish tacos in Tucson. Wow, excellent and only 99 cents on Tuesday. Great salsa bar. I wanted to eat more. Beer serviced with ice cold glass. Fresh chips — mix your own salsa. I am excited to try more on their menu. Tuesday, you will find me here!!! Olé’

When this place first opened, the service was great, food good and the prices were reasonable. Now while the food is still good, the service is spotty and the prices have went up quite a bit. For being a neighborhood Mexican Restaurant, I think they need to reevaluate their prices.

I had heard about this place from my tia/aunt. She raved of the great prices and good food. It was a rainy Saturday so I headed out to try this new place for breakfast. The sign out front of the restaurant read ‘NOW serving breakfast’ so it seemed that bfast was a new offering. Went in there with my mom and cousin and ordered 2 large bowls of menudo and a side of pancakes, an egg and sausage for my baby cousin. The pancakes, egg and sausage were standard(I stole some bites! Haha). The menudo tasted a little watered down while lacking in flavor and the toast served with it was standard. The soup came out luke warm… not good. The service was poor. We waited forever for our drinks, received bad attitudes from the waiting staff and had to ask for our check 3 different times. I did enjoy the crispy homemade tortilla chips and bean sauce/salsa they served before the meal(check the photos. uploaded a pic). I thought it was nice, different and pleasant surprise! I am anxious to try this place during dinner time because the other reviews and my aunt still enjoy this place. I am saying 2 stars for now… but will edit this review based upon my dinner dining experience. Dinner and specifically seafood seem to be this place’s specialty, so more to come!
