Only dealt with the furniture department, but Adam(I think that was his name) was a big help! He explained the mattress deal that they had going on that week and showed us he different options and even helped with carrying it out to the truck! Also gave us some ties since we did not have any :)

I’ve been here a couple of times since moving to town and I do like this Big Lots. Compared to some of the ones I’ve visited in the Bay Area, this one is much nicer. It’s pretty clean, fairly organized, and has a larger selection of items than I’ve seen in other stores. They have great deals on light blocking/thermal curtains, curtain rods, and basic home stuff. They also have a furniture section and an outdoor patio furniture section, fully stocked. Checkers are hit or miss. One older lady was somewhat rude, but the younger kids seem pretty friendly and personable. I’ll be coming back here. They deserve at least 4 stars, not sure why everyone is giving 2 and 3.

There are definitely deals to be found at Big Lots, but there are numerous items that you can buy cheaper at Wal-Mart or Target. You just have to know what the same items cost elsewhere. The two main reasons I come to Big Lots are for the movies and the snacks. I noticed that the number of movies on display has gone down, while the price of DVDs has gone up from $ 3 to $ 5. But there are a lot more boxed sets for sale now. Boxed sets are more than $ 5 of course, and I saw a few which cost double digits. Every now and then I can find some interesting discontinued snack to try. If I can’t, then I always go with the veggie chips. Sometimes I can find a good deal on a can of almonds, but most of the time their price is comparable to Safeway. Today, I was also looking for some 3M Command hooks and strips. I found them in the back of the store. Some items looked pricey(which I confirmed by looking at Home Depot’s website), and some items had no price sticker on them. I found that really annoying. Unlike Target, there are no price scanners in the aisles. Generally speaking, if you buy name-brand at Big Lots, prices are comparable and sometimes higher than you might find elsewhere. But if you stick with off-brand merchandise, it’s often cheaper. But it’s like buying generic. Sometimes it’s just as good as name-brand, sometimes it’s not.

Employees here are absolutely clueless about their current sales and stock. Not knowledgeable or helpful at all.

You can find good deals on good products all the time. I just wish I found more deals there, I find myself leaving within minutes without anything more than I end up buying something here.

It’s really cluttered here. A lot of low prices tho. I came here for jello and they didn’t have any. But my boyfriend likes to get his headphones and such here. We bought a big organic white grape juice here for $ 2.50(: Yumm yumm.

I never knew it could be like this! Compared to the Big Lots in San Francisco this place is a dream. The rows are neatly organized, the place is spotlessly clean, There’s plenty of open air parking, and best of all no urine smell. The cashiers are almost as slow.
