We ate here twice during our stay at 29 Palms. Was it exceptional? Not by any means. It was, however, one of the only passable restaurants in the barren desert wasteland. It is pretty hard to mess up cheap Chinese food. except this place wasn’t cheap at all. $ 50 for two adults. Yikes! I wouldn’t mind paying that price if the entrees had more than 3 or 4 slices of meat. We ordered beef and broccoli. and the dish was about 95% cheap broccoli — not cool for the $ 13 price tag! They also wouldn’t let you upgrade the plain white rice to fried rice, instead charging $ 15 for the entrée fried rice, with barely any morsels of meat. The walnut shrimp had the thickest breading I’ve ever tasted. The sweet and sour chicken was okay, although it had the same thick breading — just a better ratio. The best part of this restaurant are the smoothies/boba/bubble tea. They use some kind of prepackaged brand, but it is pretty tasty!

We ordered the dinner special, which ended up being a lot of food! I guess considering that there are very few restaurants in 29 Palms, this was a good bet. The peeling decals on the walls of foreign countries and garish, bright green walls were a little much. I have to say, having a green reflection onto my food isn’t the most appetizing. If you’re visiting 29 Palms, this is a decent bet. I can only presume that it has five stars by comparison to the other establishments in the area.

One of the few diners in 29 Palms worth speaking about. They had quite a variety of both food and drinks which our kids enjoyed. Services was great and if we had stayed in the area longer this would have been a regular stop.

My family and I were in 29 palms for one night and we all craved Chinese food. After reading some other reviews we gave this place a shot. Food was good, service was good. No complaints

Traveling through joshua tree national park, we found this restaurant with pretty good reviews and decided to give it a try. We ordered dishes recommended by other reviewers. Singapore stir fried rice noodle, «off menu» egg shrimp dish and salted pepper fried chicken wing As to Singapore stir fried rice noodle, it kind of tasted pretty good at the beginning but we started realizing the meat used in the dish probably either pre-cooked, not only dry and no flavor but also probably not fresh. As to salted pepper fried chicken wing, I could only say what a failure. Not only was the chicken not fresh but the flavor of the dish was strange. The chicken was so stale even the frying process could not cover up the stale taste. I know why it tasted like that because when I left my cooked chicken in the frig for more than five days, it had the same stale taste, but the waitress explained that was due to the frying. The dish was not finished but wasn’t removed from the check either. The only dish left was egg shrimp dish. I think this dish was ok but still average. Last, the taro smoothie was a powder but you could adjust sugar to taste and the result was quite good… the best part of the meal.
