Stopped by for lunch while site seeing. Nothing fancy here but looks like a total beach town place which is cool. All outdoor seating but under cover. Lots of interesting signs to read all around. The shrimp was great as was the ice cold lime-aid. Enjoyed a shrimp poboy with fries and others enjoyed a shrimp dish with hush puppies and fries. Shrimp was very tasty and not over battered like some places tend to do. Service was great and attentive too. Don’t be turned off by the appearance — it’s a good spot. Recommend trying a meal here if you’re in Tybee beach if you want to experience the local cuisine with local style.

Tables were all full, grabbed 2 seats at the bar. Server friendly, but harried. Got fried shrimp and pork combo. Both very tasty. As sides had the green beans-tasted canned, unseasoned, and coleslaw-really just shredded cabbage-not much flavor. Would have felt better about the price if the sides had had some effort put into them-but $ 21.50 for a small basket of food didn’t seem justified.

We went on a Sunday for dinner. They were«out» of most of their menu items, ribs, brisket, sausage, chicken fingers and limeade. The waitstaff were kind but preoccupied. My daughter was given a corn dog when she asked for chicken strips, then was told they were out. I had the fried shrimp, it was very good. They are only open Thursday thru Sunday. We would try again but not on a Sunday night.

Tried Gerald’s on our last night of our Tybee week! First let me say — GETTHEJALAPEÑOHUSHPUPPIES! They are the best HUSHPUPPIES I have ever had, without a doubt. Fresh and cooked to order. Perfect crisp on the outside and breading inside was perfectly cooked with jalapeño slices cooked in the batter as well. A little sweet AND hot. Just perfect. The bbq was good, not like NC bbq but it was good. Fries were cooked crispy — just how I like them. Other members in my party had the wings(in the Tybee sauce) and loved them. Another member had the ribs and they were falling off the bone and great she says. If you want to sit inside this is not the place for you. There are a scattering of tables outside, under cover, with ceiling fans. There was a nice breeze at about 7pm when we arrived so it was a pleasant experience. We loved the laid back casual atmosphere. One of my dinner mates asked Gerald about buying the Tybee sauce online and he stated he is gearing up for that but offered to run home and grab a bottle he had bottled up a few days ago for him. We took him up on that offer and purchased a bottle of the sauce to take home. This is a relaxed atmosphere, seat yourself and do not be in a rush. The service was«ok» — one server for all tables. Food and drinks got to us fairly quickly — he did apologize for the wait several times. Gave us another tables check but was able to fix it with ease. All in all I would recommend Gerald’s for a relaxed meal on the Island!!!

We had the pulled pork, fried shrimp, and most of the sides :) Everything was awesome! The atmosphere is amazing and the food was awesome. The space is covered so it wasn’t hot regardless of the 80+ weather and there are fans as it gets hotter out. Our poor sever was the only man on for lunch so he was sprinting around and still managed to get us in and out without much wait. I can’t wait to go back!

They catered a wedding party at our beach house. Food was out of this world. You know how shrimp can be over cooked and soggy? Well not at Gerald’s. It was PERFECT. He has a nice stainless steel trailer that he used to serve and it was very orderly and classy. Highly recommend this place!

What a pleasant surprise! Tried all the popular recommended spots on Tybee and left each frustrated and hungry. Stopped by Gerald’s after a long day at the beach and had the best meal of the week. To start with, Gerald came to our table and engaged in great conversation making us feel like we were at at neighborhood cookout. The waitress was not too chatty but I didn’t come for that… she did her job well. The shrimp is the best I ever had(and I’ve had a lot!). That didn’t surprise me. What did was the ribs. Wasn’t expecting this quality from a roadside truck with seating. The house made mango habenero sauce is excellent… buy a bottle and take it home. Come as you are and enjoy the award winning shrimp. But bring your $$ — it’s a little pricey for such low overhead. Bill for 4 was $ 81. Add the tip and you just dropped a C-note. After all the other disappointments in town though, it’s well worth it.

You want real seafood without the fancy go to Getald’s. I am from Tampa and was given the tip that locals love his food. I had the shrimp and it was awesome. Try the hush puppies with peppers.

This must be a preview of heaven… the fried shrimp are that good! It almost made a disappointing excursion from our hotel in Savannah to Tybee island, only to drive around unsuccessfully for parking, worth it. The fries and hush puppies were excellent. Service was great. P. s I would skip the cole slaw. The corn on the cob looked like a better choice judging by other’s baskets.

Gerald’s is one of our favorite go-to places on Tybee for take-out. Since we live around the block, we don’t dine in. We just call ahead and pick up our lunch or dinner and take it home to enjoy. We are big fan’s of the pulled pork barbeque sandwich and the fried shrimp and fried oyster appetizers are fresh, locally sourced and nicely prepared and Gerald makes his hushpuppies savory just the way we like them. For folks who are looking for something more than a sandwich, there are a variety of platters with ribs, pork and seafood and choices of sides. Gerald has been in the food/catering business for a long time and with the Pig and Shrimp he has created a fun, funky spot with really good food that suits Tybee to a T.

We stopped here after the beAch for a snack. We got the G special. It came with a rib, pulled pork, fried shrimp, hush puppies and side for 11 dollars. We wouldn’t come back for the ribs or pulled pork, but we’d definitely come back for the hush puppies and outdoor dining experience!

Like most the other places in this area — very friendly people. Awesome barbecue and seafood. One of our 3 favorite places on the island. Would definitely be a sought after place for all the foodies and gastro-pub people and rival any place in Washington, DC

After walking along the beach, this place is a great place to stop by for a snack. We tried sharing some fried shrimp… but«sharing» is relative since these were some awesome shrimp and I eat fast! They get their shrimp local, which is awesome; you can definitely taste how fresh they are. The batter is nice and light, allowing for the shrimp’s own flavor to shine. It was incredibly comfortable sitting outside chatting with our waitress. We will be back next time we are visiting the area!

Great place to relax. Service was slow but we weren’t in a hurry. Shrimp was very fresh — we even met the shrimpers when they brought the day’s catch by. We had the boiled shrimp, and it was delicious. Tried the fried shrimp, too, and enjoyed it just as much. Definitely a good place to drop by if you’re not in a rush. That’s the only reason for the 3 stars.

Extreme roadside dining. Open-air dining area is covered. Nothing fancy, just good low country cuisine. Fresh vegetable sides, fried abd boiled seafood. Everything was well-prepared and tasty. Owner and staff are friendly and take time to speak to everyone. Don’t wait until too late in the evening, they close when the food runs out.
