The food was awful. We ordered the peel and eat shrimp and they were at least a two days old. Don’t waste your time or money eating here. The server was prompt and polite, however.

This is the first time that I have ever paid $ 70.00 for a meal that we could not eat and then had to go and buy another dinner somewhere else. The menu was not appealing but we were on vacation and everything else was full. When my daughter found a hair in her food, they actually brought not one but two people from the kitchen to confirm our story. The food that we tried to eat was disgusting. 13.00 for soggy fish and chips served in a basket.

My husband decided he wanted a ribeye steak for dinner. The waitress asked if we wanted to know what the fair market price was first before ordering and said sure. She said $ 22.00. He said okay After receiving the steak, he started to eat it and it was very tough steak. He normally does not complain about his food, but for $ 22.00, he decided to complain. It was obvious there was no qualified manager to handle the situation, because all she said was sorry and that we never get complaints about the steaks. Never offered to recook a steak or cook something different. So we left there paying full price and very unsatisfied.

Honestly, if I could rate as negative stars I would. The only reason we went there was because everywhere else was packed which should have been a clue. Needless to say there were multiple tables open and we were ignored for about 10 minutes. I ordered the same thing I had for lunch at the crab shack, the only difference is that the steam pot at the crab shack was awesome and I have had better food out of a bag in Afghanistan than at Vicki’s. the food was aweful, they ran out of sausage and loaded my plate down with nasty potatoes and then said the 30 dollar stempot didn’t come with sausage. However everyone we spoke to said the place was nasty and when I told our server it wasn’t good he said that he had heard that all night. It was more expensive than the crab shack as well. The excuse from all of the staff was that they were short staffed. — — — — –update — — — — – Was up for a good portion of the night with severe stomach pains and cramps, it is impossible to get food poisioning from a stempot that was boiled 20 minutes to long but I suppose that my stomach doesn’t digest rubber to well.

I will call this place average only because I didn’t actually eat at Vickie’s. I saw an ad in a local magazine advertising an all-you-care-to-eat crab deal on Wednesdays; I called about it Wednesday morning with no answer and left a message on Facebook, at the suggestion of the restaurant’s website, that went unanswered. I read reviews of the restaurant on several sites, all negative concerns were answered with excuses which made me leery of my own experience. I ended up going to the restaurant to get an answer about the crab deal(no longer happening, a good thing to put on the Facebook page and restaurant doors) and thought that it is more upscale than my favorite Tybee locales. I don’t think I missed anything by not getting the crab deal.

I visited Vickie’s On Tybee during the late evening for dinner with my family. The staff was very friendly. We were greeted and seated with a smile. The alcoholic beverages are so, so good with a friendly price. Please enjoy their margaritas. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy their food as much. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which didn’t look anything like the normal southern dish. Instead it looked like a mash up of different foods. There also wasn’t very many shrimp in my entrée. Based on comments received from my family, the fried shrimp is absolutely delicious.

Tip — if the parking lot of a restaurant is empty, there is a reason… Vicki’s is so-so… My wife had the chicken strips and I had a burger. My burger was over cooked(and I asked for medium). By the time a waitress came over to see how the food was, I was almost done with my burger. The staff seemed very flustered when«several large» parties came in. To us, it appeared that there was one table of 6 and a few couples. I would would stay away and find something else…

Very good experience! Friendly waitress, knowledgeable of the menu and gave great recommendations. The fried shrimp was probably the best I’ve had on the island. The drink specials at happy hour are great, buy one get one glasses of wine(heavy pours) and cheap beer, $ 5 frozen drinks as well. The steaks are the one thing that keeps me from a 5 star experience, you must order a more rare steak than you’d normally want since they tend to overcook. Otherwise wonderful experience, even with being incredibly full I wish I had a pound of their fried shrimp to snack on right now!

All I can say is the waitress Allison is top notch. Most of the food was awful. The shrimp and grits should have been called skimp and clumps. The grilled shrimp was ok but skimpy for the price. The bone in ribeye was very good. If your going for all you can eat crab legs don’t bother. They started out 2 small clusters and next refill was 1 cluster. The waitress was apologetic but I don’t think we will be back.

I always wanted to check this place out. First of all is in the pricey side of the echelon, with that said it comes with some expectations. I had their appetizer: their buffalo shrimp, the sauce was good, but the shrimp and dipping sauce were not very good. Perhaps this would have been a more successful dish, if it was marinated before hand or lightly breaded. Now the dipping sauce probably needs some work not to taste so much out of the bottle. Now the appetizer alone, persuade me not to buy their main entrée for their fancy prices. One good thing about this place is their pineapple mojito though. It seems like is one of the places in tybee that serve alcohol, that normally butcher the food, but have excellent specialty drinks.

While vacationing on Tybee Island with my wife and 4 daughters we decided to try this restaurant as the first one on Tybee of our trip. I had the Fried Shrimp and Fried Scallop plate, my wife had a burger, 2 of my daughters had the chicken tender basket, 1 had a cheeseburger basket, and the last one had fried scallops. Well first and foremost everything that was fried had a tasteless breading. There was no spices at all in the breading and the taste was awful. The quality of the scallops was fine but the breading was again tasteless. The tartar sauce served with the scallops tasted like it was straight from a container purchased from a food supplier and not fresh made. The burgers were OK and had no complaints. Besides being tasteless the chicken tenders tasted like they were fryed in old oil. For the price we paid this food was awful. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone visiting Tybee.

This was quite an experience to say the least! The service was slower than molasses and our waitress was quite confused. For a steakhouse, the steaks were not up to par. The food presentation was poor and not appetizing. After we asked for our biscuits, we had to go up to the bar and get our own plates. However, the biscuits and the salads were the only items that we actually enjoyed. For a new restaurant, they need some serious help or the business won’t last.

I have never posted a restaurant review anywhere but was so appalled by our experience I felt the need to do so. My husband and I each ordered a combination which included the fish. As soon as the plates were set in front of us we were overwhelmed by the strong«fishy» smell. Needless to say neither one us could eat it and actually moved it to the other side of the table to distance ourselves from the odor. When we brought it to the server’s attention, her response was«I feel bad» before wandering off. Upon leaving we did ask to see a manager who was very pleasant and offered us a comp meal at another time(which we declined as this was an experience we do not wish to repeat, even for free), however the sarcastic behavior of another server nearby was appalling and made the situation even worse. Bottom line — over priced, terrible service and disappointing food.

My husband and I really enjoyed our experience at Vicki’s. Our appetizer, salads, and entrees came out quickly. My husband had the ribeye, and I had the crab cake dinner. They were both delicious! Great service. Our server was young but was professional and knowledgeable about their great selection of wines. Very accommodating. We loved the atmosphere; it was a nice change from the typical Tybee restaurants. Miss Vicki herself came over to talk to us. We will definitely be returning!

Vicki’s is doing a stellar job, especially for a new restaurant on Tybee. Recommend you give it a try! Girls’ weekend. Four diners. The hostess attempted to seat us in between the other two tables that were already seated. While we appreciated the offer to sit by the windows, sitting diners on top of each other is unnecessary when there really isn’t a view. She was very amenable to our choice of another table. When seated and having our drink order taken, it would have been nice to learn the specials at that time. Some of the chairs don’t fit under the table well but the rustic old house ambiance is nice. The waitress was very personable and professional. Two of us had the surf and turf kabobs. One had the shrimp and grits and the other had the portobello grilled mushroom. We also had the fried pickles. Two in our party were new to fried pickles but none refused her share. They were wonderful. I wondered how they would master the appropriate temperature of both the beef and seafood on the kabob, unfortunately they did not. The seafood was perfect, the beef overdone. The shrimp and grits and mushroom were wonderful. I suggest everyone try this new restaurant and offer suggestions to make it the wonderful restaurant it has the potential to be.

Disclaimer– we are longtime personal friends with the owner. That said: Food is fresh, locally sourced, Our table had scallops two ways, both were perfectly executed. The grilled portobello met the approval of our 13 year old who is a foodie. They have a full bar, which we did not sample. Biscuits were to die for!!!
