The staff was very attentive, friendly. I was eating less than 5 minutes after we walked in the door.(buffet). The buffet didn’t have a lot of choices, but the food was excellent. Will definitely eat here again ! A true«hidden gem» of Tybee Island. Very pleasant experience

Breakfast we ordered was delicious, just what we needed after the two of us eloped. The grits were excellent and omelets tasty. I love a local diner better than any corporate chain. Initially was worried with prices on the Main drag location but good deals and large portions. The cleanliness was fair, and décor seemed aging like an old buffet restaurant. I was very surprised the owners been in business over 30 years and their customer service was very polite. Check out the history of whom were the island settlers. Interesting indeed! Will return if ever visit island again.

Good place for breakfast on Tybee Island. The place looks like a good old down home diner. No fancy décor, plates or coffee ups. The food was okay and friendly service. The food was reminded me of Waffle House. They offer an all you can eat breakfast buffets I ordered off the menu. Waffles, bacon and eggs were great!

I got the breakfast buffet. It was very average. Nothing terrible; nothing spectacular. I wish I had ordered something from the menu instead.

Decent food. Nothing special. Waffle was under cooked grits were chunky. Good enough to eat but not recommend. Considering the better option a stone throws away you’d be foolish to choose this over«The breakfast club».

We played on the beach from sunrise and worked up an appetite, so stopped by Sunrise to grab breakfast. Our waitress offered the buffet and we all dove in, kids and adults. Food was fresh, hot, and delicious. There was a good variety to choose from and it was very affordable. The fruit was so fresh, ripe, sweet, and delicious we all had a couple of plates full. Staff was friendly and accommodating and other patrons, both locals and tourists, seemed relaxed in the atmosphere and pleased. I highly recommend!

Pretty decent breakfast, not sure I’d choose them if I had tons of time and options but, decent in a pinch. I did enjoy my Philly cheesesteak omelette and my teenage son ate everything in sight. I can’t compare it to the other breakfast place, I haven’t made it there yet but, not having tried that place, this place seems pretty good. Prices are decent, servings are generous!

Sunrise has a very good breakfast buffet. Not too expensive and fast, friendly service. This was our 2nd time eating breakfast there and will most definitely go back. We need to try lunch next time!

I went to the Sunrise Restaurant for breakfast. Everyone raved about it so I went. I wish I had gone to the Sugar Shack or the Breakfast Club instead. While the people are very nice and genuinely want to help, this was not a good experience for me. I have a fish and shellfish allergy, The waitress told me she cannot guarantee anything I ordered would not come in contact with fish, so I got up to leave. She told me I could have the Breakfast Buffet where there is no fish cooked near any of the items. I didn’t really need a buffet, but I said yes. The bacon, sausage and potatoes were great. The fruit was fresh and the biscuits and pancakes hot and fluffy. The eggs were a slop consistency which I masked with a cheez– whiz type sauce. The coffee was coffee colored water and the creamer was empty. There was also a chemical substance that passes for butter on the table. I had to ask for cream and real butter. Took several minutes and by then the pancakes and biscuits were cold. I should have been checked on right away and the creamer should have been checked when the coffee was served. Restroom had a bad smell to it I cannot understand why restaurants can’t use a clean skillet or clean section of the grill for people with food allergies. So I paid double the price for a completely inedible breakfast.

No, it isn’t «just as good as the famous place across the street». There’s a pretty dramatic difference in the quality of ingredients. What this place offers is a very typical breakfast, executed well in some ways, not so well in others. The omelettes are good — the shrimp and the Philly cheesesteak omelettes in particular stood out. The pancakes we had were leathery — enough to make Mrs. Butterworth’s tiny head explode. The hashbrowns were okay — if you order cheese on yours, be prepared for a slice of cold processed cheese. The coffee is gruesome. Like, even your grandpaw –who swears by watery Folgers and thinks Starbucks is for morons who like to throw their money away — would call it monkey piss. The service, however, is just so sweet and helpful that you drink it anyway and hate yourself for being so high maintenance. On that note, the fact that they were out of raisin toast shouldn’t have irritated the living hell out of me. The world is a sewer of brutality and injustice — how’s about I just eat the plain toast and stfu?

This little place is exactly what you want a quick breakfast to be. No wait, friendly service, and lots of menu options. Loved the grits and the hash browns. Inexpensive.

Review includes consideration of the price, which is really cheap. I have had breakfast at Sunrise several times, and it is yummy, fast, never crowded, and I don’t really know why people choose the breakfast club over it. Looking for breakfast on the island? Eat here.

We stopped in on Sunday morning just before noon. We both got the breakfast buffet & it was delicious. Biscuits, gravy, bacon, sausage patties & links, chicken & steak nuggets, mini corn dogs, hash browns, eggs, grits, pancakes, fresh fruit and more. Service was quick & efficient, they were quite busy. If you are looking for a quick, good breakfast this is what you want.

We are vacationing in Tybee for the ninth year in a row, and make it to Sunrise once or twice each visit. This morning, a Wednesday, I made the ten-minute walk to have breakfast. I chuckled to myself at the 10 – 12 people standing in the heat outside The Breakfast Club, walked straight into Sunrise, and was seated in short order. At 10am, they were busy but not crowded. My waiter greeted me, and took my OJ order. He offered water, as well, but I declined. For food, I got the short stack of Blueberry Pancakes and two scrambled eggs. It took about ten minutes for the food to arrive, and everything was hot and smelled great. The pancakes were fluffy and they didn’t skimp on the blueberries — lots of whole plump berries. The two pancakes were large enough that I couldn’t eat it all. It’s hard to mess up scrambled eggs, and they didn’t. I was in and out in about 20 minutes for under $ 10. On weekends and holidays, they set up an AYCE buffet for about $ 8/person. I have found that the buffet is for someone with a large appetite who likes a wide variety of breakfast foods. For me, I can order off the menu and get out for less than the cost of the buffet. The dining area can be a little noisy at times. Everything, including the kitchen, is in one big room.(The bathrooms aren’t.) There is a constant din that I don’t find uncomfortable, but some might. For food, speed of service, and cost, I would recommend Sunrise to everyone but Food Network fanatics.

So everyone always wants to eat at the other place across the street because it was on food network. I forget the name of it, but there’s always a line and its priced a bit higher than sunrise. BUT, if you talk to some of the locals, most of them tell you to just go to Sunrise, because the food here is great, it’s very reasonably priced(I’d even say pretty cheap) and they got everything you’d ever want for breakfast,(unless you just have some pretty off-the-wall requests). When we came it was on a Thursday I believe, and they had their breakfast buffet going, which I guess they only do on the weekends during off-seasons, but they had it going! I gotta tell you, that buffet was on-point! Eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, biscuits, gravy, steak nuggets, fried little mini corndogs, fruit, French toast sticks, muffins, and more! I can’t even remember it all, that’s how much stuff was there, and it was all really good! The wait staff was very attentive and kept my coffee full. We were able to get a really good, big breakfast before starting our day of beach and tybee time! Who could think of a better way to start the day? I highly recommend this place.

Sunrise is your standard Waffle House style diner. We went here because there was no wait. Had wanted to go across the street to the Breakfast Club but the waits were too long. Basic breakfast of eggs meat and pancakes were do well. Service was average and the place could use a good cleaning. Average at best

Best breakfast on Tybee Island and very reasonable. There is a buffet on the weekends of you like that for 8.95 if you like that or you can order from the menu. Large portions and delicious!

on a foggy dreary morning on Tybee Island, the«Sunrise» gave me some Smiles to start my day … Loan, Shauna, Alex & Diego are a super & colorful team … the service is super, the bacon crispy, the food tasty … watching Loan chef the food is like watching any artist perform … this is my 2nd breakfast in 2 days & both experiences were positive !!‘ they also have their own parking lot which is a plus in «no-free parking» Tybee Island … pARTy On! Sunrise … p.s. and thanks for all the smiles 12÷23÷14 at 7:30 am
