My partner wanted Nayong Filipino. I was waiting in the car and thought, «I’m going to try this taqueria.» I couldn’t believe that the tacos were only $ 1 each. Was I back in Rosarito Beach? Nope. Union City, CA. I got four chicken tacos and a side of rice for $ 7.50! It was very tasty. I looked around. Everyone eating here was Mexican. That’s my sign that their food is legit. Well, that and the fact that you can get lengua tacos. I have a policy of not tasting things that can literally taste me back. I cracked up at the salsas–«Mild,» «Hot,» and«Fire.» They sell CDs too. One had a very good looking man named«Cristian Castro» on the cover. I saw a big jug full of Horchata. Yeah, this place is legit. Super cheap and super tasty. This will definitely be my go-to place when I’m craving Mexican food.

This place is on my way home from work, so decided to grab lunch to go here. It’s small inside but they have a nice little salsa bar set up which I like. I got a chili verde wet burrito; it was pretty good, the meat was tender and not fatty. The sauce could have been a little less watery and maybe that’s why it didn’t have as much flavor as other chili verde sauces I’ve had before. I just added some of the green salsa I picked up at the salsa bar to it and it was much better. The regular salsa was really good, kind of caught me off guard cause if has a kick but I liked that cause most places make their salsa too mild in my opinion.

My mom swore this place was really good, and just to grab a quick bite we went over there since it was close by. I didn’t realize til I figured it out that they were under new management. They don’t make carne asada fries as good as I’ve seen/tasted. The place was a mess, esp around the sauce area. $ 1 tacos sound too good to be true and of course, you can def make your own at home and you’d prob like yours way better.

I arrived around 12:30pm one Friday looking to get something to take out(my wife was eating next door). There was no one ahead of me and while I was deciding what to get, a parade of people suddenly lined up behind me. I felt, «Good thing I beat the crowd!». Anyhow I placed my order and sat down to wait. Minutes later, one guy approached me with what I thought was my order… Wrong! It was a 3-course meal for the guy who was behind me on line… Yeah seriously, he ordered three different things! I didn’t think much of it. I figured perhaps that guy’s stuff might have just cooked quicker. However, the same thing happened over and over. Almost 30 minutes later, I was the only one waiting for food. I repeatedly asked the cashier about my order. He felt bad and offered a free beverage for compensation. At this point my wife texted that she had already finished eating!!! I requested them to cancel my order and refund. At that moment, the cashier went into the kitchen then shouted some stuff to the four cooks and I got my order two minutes later. The food was not that great … one could easily notice that it looked«rushed» and certainly not worth the wait. I’ve had better experiences here but the most recent one will make me think twice about coming back. I wish they could adopt the principle of «First Come, First Serve» not«First Come, Serve Last.»

I was looking for a mexican restaurant here on Unilocal & I came across the reviews & said they had carne asada fries & california burrito. So when I thought carne asada fries & california burrito I thought of Baldos taqueria in vallejo. Baldos taqueria’s is so good & their california burrito is bomb! So I went to this place & they had plenty on the menu. This place is so not up to what the reviews say they were. Their fries were not fresh(as in frozen processed) & their tortilla chips were super stale! Bleh! This is a poor poor imitation of Baldos taqueria. The only good thing is that they have a little market on the other side of the room if you ever wanted to go grocery shopping.
I don’t think I would ever come back here anytime soon. It was a waste of my time & money going here. I could’ve went up the street to Union Landing to Chipotle or something better than this place. SMH

Damn good taqueria. To the people who were annoyed the cashier didn’t talk to them: he just doesn’t speak any english. Very solid carnitas here. Cabeza was good too, but not amazing for cabeza. Burritos are a little larger than normal, tortas are average sized. Very good salsa, more spice than usual. Not exactly a nice neighborhood btw.

My Carnitas Regular Burrito was good, but not $ 5.99 good. Maybe $ 4.99 good. I don’t eat beans, so it would have been nice if they had substituted a little more meat for the missing frijoles. Great, spicy pico de gallo and green salsa at the salsa bar! They offer a California Burrito which includes carne asada and french fries as a filling. Muy interesting…

I write this review because this is my 2nd favorite and only taqueria in my neighborhood. Most of their menu items area great, when they are consistent. I had a peeve that every time I would order a chicken burrito they would always have a different way of making, one time with tons of onions, sometimes no sour cream, extra salsa the next time. I go back to places because the atmosphere, the service and the food. If they would just get consistency of the food down I would be back more often, since it is on my way home. I will try again, and hope its better.

I liked the tortas pretty well, I thought the grilled pork is better than the grilled chicken. They have like 10 different salsa’s & I’ve yet to find the«right» one. I would go back since I work close by.

I had the torta. It was pretty big compared to other tortas I’ve had. It was okay — the bread was relatively soft. It’s located next to a Filipino restaurant where the fumes were swarming all over us as we were eating our Mexican delights outside. The place is kinda small so I’m not sure if it’d be too good for a big group.

Nice little taqueria. I got the regular chicken burrito which was good. They bring the food to your table which is kind of nice for a cheap place where you order at the counter. They have a bunch of beer in bottles. There was also a soccer game on the TV the evening that I went there. The only thing I didn’t like was that the guy taking my order barely said a word. He looked at me like, «What the fuck do you want?» when I went to place my order. Maybe he doesn’t like white boys dressed like yuppies. I don’t know. I’d go back though. Good stuff.
