Had lunch here for the first time today. Food was amazing!!! I ate the Prime Rib Panini and it was delicious. Service was great. I can’t wait to go back,. I wish I didn’t live so far away

Seafood pasta my girlfriend had was pretty good. I ordered the tritip and prawns. The steak could have been cooked better by my little brother who can barely make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Asked for medium rare and they gave me a burnt corner piece. Would have sent it back but it was late. Service was good and prices weren’t outrages hence 2 stars not 1.

Still sort of new to trying this place out, but we get salads as take out for lunch quite often at work. I get why it’s a popular place. My husband and I have yet to do a dinner there, but I’m glad I’ve given it more shots.(My first two visits weren’t impressive). I wish i had gone before I had my gastric bypass in December so I could enjoy a real meal, but in a way I’m glad I didn’t!

My husband and I received gift cards for our wedding to this restaurant. So we decided o. Trying this place out for Tuesday lunch. For a Tuesday early afternoon this place is busy! Service was decent and we were seated quickly. I ended up order for the appetizer the calamari strips(which was tender, not rubbery!) and the bruschetta(the mix was not piled on each piece of toast but rather grouped together as a salad with the toast on the side) For lunch I decided on the salmon BLT which was very tasty and flavorful! My husband ordered the jambalaya which he said was decent as well. We are planning on finishing up our wedding gift with a second trip, this time for dinner! This place is a nice local restaurant in Vacaville which gives off the feel of napa’s restaurant without the crazy prices!

Terrible customer service. My wife and I came here and waited a very long time to be seated. The hostess was seating other people before us even though we were there first. When she finally acknowledged us she said«Can I help you?» in an incredibly condescending tone. Obviously were here to eat… its pretty simple. You have one job… seat people. I don’t understand why we were being treated differently. The last thing you want to do in customer service is judge others like they don’t have the money to be there… little did she know I work at Genentech and money is never an issue… especially for a place like this. I won’t be coming here ever again and I will suggest others to do the same.

Went there for Sunday Brunch which was a bit pricey but good & had a romantic & friendly atmosphere. The waitress was professional & the food was excellent. It is not really a brunch, you order a meal on the brunch menu & it comes with fruit, muffins & endless champagne. I plan to go back for lunch & dinner. I recommend going here especially with that someone or someone’s special. Recommend getting a reservation if you are not coming early.

Had a wonderful Monday night meal here tonight. Prime Rib was done to perfection. Dining companions each had Chicken Marsala(moist with a flavorful, mushroom sauce) which she thoroughly enjoyed, and a pasta chicken dish(fettuccine, artichoke hearts & more) that didn’t disappoint! Wonderful dinners were finished off with crème brûlée and an apple crisp that was definitely big enough to share between three people. I have had hit or miss food and service here, but tonight all three of us were exceptionally satisfied. Definitely worth a try!

I truly enjoyed eating here. Great service and food quality. Their bar wasn’t half bad either! Great Moscow mules.

Had Sam’s sweet and sour prawn fettuccine. It was very delicious. Service was wonderful. We also had the brownie and ice cream desert. I can’t wait to go back again and again.

Oh my gosh! I had no idea there could be such a lovely little place like this in Vacaville. The Hubs and I had a rare«date night» sans the Wee One, and we decided to throw caution to the wind and try M&M. I am so glad that we did. We had a delightful time. They were offering a dinner special for 2 the night we were there for $ 80. It included an appetizer, a choice of salad or soup, two main dishes, and a bottle of wine. we both got the surf and turf; which consisted of 6oz of delicious(perfectly rare) tri tip, and a lobster tail(and sides of baked potato and grilled veggies). Everything was expertly prepared and really delicious. Our service was very fast and very friendly. Someone was always there when we needed something, but no one was overbearing or «lurky». We will be returning to M&M again soon, for another date night!

I have gone here a few times for brunch and everytime I’ve had great service and the food has been perfect. This place is always so welcoming and makes you just feel at home. I will definitely be coming back for more brunch and drinks! But only four stars because it is a little over priced! Wish they had some shot/specials on Sunday brunch day!!! :)

We had a group of 7 for lunch today and had wonderful service. However, I ordered from their regular menu(not lunch specials) and requested my steak sandwich medium. It arrived VERY well done and was returned to the kitchen. Next I received a lump of meat that was presented as a steak and it was so tough I could not cut it with a serrated knife. Again it was sent back to the kitchen. I settled for a crab melt which arrived after the other 6 had finished their lunch. I cannot tell you how it is as I brought it home for dinner. Great service but questionable food. A huge disappointment since I had organized the holiday luncheon! When I called the restaurant to speak with a manager, the male who answered said ‘why are you yelling at me?’ I had merely asked to speak to the manager and he couldn’t hear me… at least that’s what he said. I will call again later as I feel it is equally important to report poor food and rude employees as it is to praise. Again, our server, Richard, was excellent and attentive. However, someone needs to know… and care… about the situation I encountered today. I did call Cody, the Manager, & his response, although polite, was an apology for my dissatisfaction and decision not to return. Oh, well. Vacaville has many good places to eat and our group will not return to M&M. P. S. We are a group of Widows and do not have unlimited funds.

Decent food, good ambiance, good service. Hubby and I ate here a few weeks ago, and I’m finally getting around to reviewing it! We wanted to stay local, and had heard good things about this place. We had no reservations, and had about a 45 minute wait which we spent in the bar, which was fine with us; we did some people watching and enjoyed a drink. I had the salmon and a squash medley. It was well cooked, flakey and tender but a little bland; ditto with the squash, which should have been roasted or maybe sauteed instead of steamed. My husband also said his meal was well cooked but a little bland. Maybe we just oversalt our food… but we expected a little more flavor. The only true disappointment was the gluten free chocolate cake, which was incredibly dense and richly chocolate but at the same time somehow slimey – like they’d used a bunch of corn starch instead of flour, so it could be gluten free, but instead that gave it an unusual corn-starch-thickened texture. I love rich dark chocolate, so I was bummed. It’s a very charming place. It’s sparse, but not bare; white walls, and gorgeous metal framework in the center of the dining area, upon which the wine bottles are stacked and then lit from below – the light through the layers of glass gave a subtle, elegant glow. Some vintage looking artwork on the walls remind you that this building has been part of Vacaville history, and they’ve done a nice job restoring it. The bar in the other room where we waited was warm and inviting, with a tile backsplash behind the bar and fun artwork giving it a long-time but not outdated feel. The service was good, attentive but not overbearing. I think we’ll probably be back. I like that it’s local, and I’ll try something new the next time. Parking was easy, there’s a lot next door, so it’s very convenient.

5 stars for service, ambiance and food. We got here 10 minutes before closing for Sunday Champagne Brunch and they seated us. Their biggest concern was that they had run out of champagne. The Sunday Brunch is a prixe fix menu with bottomless champagne/mimosas. I could care less that day though, I was super hungry. Feed me they did, and still managed to find some small champagne singles. I loved the interior of the casual elegant dining room. It is separated by a giant wine-rack wall. There were old-timey murals painted all the way up to the edges of the high ceilings. Crisp white fabric tablecloths and napkins added to the elegance. There was some serious mood-lighting going on. Even though this place was really busy and loud when we got there, it felt intimate at the same time. There were so many things that I wanted to order on the menu. They have a lot of American breakfast and lunch favorites. I chose the Crab Benedict(I will always choose a Benedict first) which came with seasoned house potatoes. The pair were perfectly scrumptious together. The Benedict was layered in a balance of fresh crab, poached egg on top of a English muffin with creamy hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were a little crispy and nice and tender inside. I ate every morsel. I can’t wait to go back and try the other things on the menu.

Service was great but the food was meh. I got the pork shank and while the meat was tender and covered in sauce, there was no real flavor to it. My garlic potatoes were almost non existent as the small portion was hidden under a large amount of flavorless sauce. Veggies didn’t have much of a taste either. Prb won’t be back.

Weekend brunch, one of my favorite meals. The union street eggs Benedict is great. It is a shrimp and crab with asparagus Benedict. All brunches come with champagne, pastries and fruit in addition to what you order. Bring your appetite for this place.

As a Vacaville resident there are only so many places you can go and we like to keep most date nights local if we can… Or even go somewhere different with the family. Merchant & Main is one of those places you can have the best of both worlds for us. On date night we like to head to the bar, which is in the back of the restaurant and has several TV’s if you’re wanting to catch a game. The bartenders are always super accommodating if you want a game on that isn’t playing. Our favorite night is Taco Tuesday — super great deals on Margarita’s and their yummy giant tacos! The 49er chicken strips are a must, and the list goes on. If you want a more formal night out the dining room is nice and quiet and sets a tone for a nice dinner out. We have even taken our kids(7&13) and they have a good kids menu as well. Recently I had the Cajun Chicken Pasta and my husband had the bacon wrapped filet and both were delicious. The kids had mac n cheese(also good according to our daughter) and our son enjoyed the grilled cheese on sourdough. All in all a great place for either date night, family night or when ever :)

Been a long time customer of this establishment and was told tonight I was no longer welcome, why I asked, it was because I said something to a patron who parked in the handicapped parking last night that was not displaying or did not appear to be handicapped. That patron was picking up his relative that worked there but I was told my management I shouldn’t say anything, because it was late and no handicapped people would show up. Why is it wrong to try and help those who are protected no matter what time it is. They have gladly taken my money for over 12 years but I stand for those who are les fortunate and I am asked to not return.

It was my parents 25th wedding anniversary, so we decided to try out this restaurant for dinner! Even though we’ve lived in the area for years and years, we had only heard about Merchant & Main. Tucked away in Downtown Vacaville, this restaurant is definitely a great place for a dinner or celebration. We parked across the street(though there is a parking lot behind the restaurant) and were a bit confused at first as to where the entrance was. Turns out there’s a nice outdoor patio on the side where the main entrance is. Upon entering, you can head to the bar on the right or the dining room on the left. Just to make sure, we called ahead the day before to make a reservation. Our server was very friendly and courteous right off the bat. Warm bread and butter was served and we started off with a couple appetizers and drinks. The sangria was the special on Saturday night and the pomegranate margarita on the rocks was tart and refreshing! Along with the drinks, we had the crab, artichoke, and spinach dip served with tortilla chips. It was served piping hot with a mountain of cheese melted on top so that each bite had an ooey gooey cheesy topping. The tempura asparagus were also nice and crispy, with an extra spicy kick. As for the entrees, we all went with a different type of meat. I tried the king salmon special, which was prepared perfectly and topped with a delicious mango salsa. I do wish there was a bit more salsa to go with the salmon though. My parents had the lamb chops and pork chop marinated in miso, and both were very satisfied with their choices. The only downside was the vegetables needed more seasoning and the garlic mashed potatoes were more crumbly than creamy, but other than that, the meat was delicious! Didn’t have room for dessert, so I’ll have to come back and try it another time! But overall, this is definitely a nice and cozy place to go for a weekend dinner.

Yay! My first review in 2015 from my first happy hour since my new job! My coworkers invited me to Merchant and Main after work for some drinks and food. I didn’t know what to expect. I parallel parked on the street(free) in front of the restaurant. Theres outdoor and indoor seats. For HH, you grab yourself a table. It was quite packed with an older crowd, but I enjoyed hanging out with my coworkers over delicious HH snacks and drinks. Some of their items are half-off and it was soo good! I like the baked honey walnut brie with bread, artichoke with dip, baked potato skin. Can’t go wrong! I would definitely come back!
