We stopped here for Sunday lunch on our way through town. It was busy but we were seated immediately. Hostess was polite but needs more southern charm. Our server was nice but we rarely saw him. He brought a small loaf of bread and some butter as a starter. It was really delicious. We all ordered steak(of course). We really liked the seasoning on the steaks, but they need to work on getting the doneness correct. My husband and I both ordered medium and mine was rare compared to his. The fries were standard boring fries, we noticed many of the regulars seemed to get the baked potatoes, we should have tried those. The adult’s steaks came with a decent size side salad, and the kids got a bowl of ice cream with their meal. The bathroom had no toilet paper. 12 oz delmonico $ 20 6 oz strip $ 10.59 2 child’s 6 oz strip meal $ 9 each Sweet teas $ 2.79 each

First time visiting and more than likely the last for me. We went based on the reviews. For the most part the appetizer of fireside shrimp was good, the salads and bread were also good. It had your typical steak house décor and I am good with that. The problem I had and do not know if it was isolated or not, but they had a general lack of concern. I ordered the steak burger cooked medium with bacon and mushrooms, no bun or cheese, with a side of steamed broccoli. The menu did not say anything about cheese on the broccoli, but I did not ask, so my fault, and it was quite good! The mushrooms and bacon also very good, once all that was gone I was left with about half the burger. When I took a bite of it by itself it tasted rancid. My wife told me it was probably a seasoning or marinade, so I offered her a bite and she quickly changed her mind and agreed it tasted«spoiled». I did ask the waitress if they use any special seasonings or marinades, but she could not tell me for sure. Shortly after a lady came to the table, I assume the manager but never identified herself, she said she heard there was a problem with the burger. I tried to explain the taste to her but got a look like I was crazy. She did offer the explanation that they use a seasoning and did offer to make me a new one(No thank you), but that is all that was offered. I left feeling cheated after such high hopes. By the way my wife said her steak was cooked perfectly and was quite delicious. My hope is that someone who works there reads this and checks their hamburger meat as I really think some of it went bad, before someone gets ill. Reading the other review there seems to be a sediment that the burgers are great so hopefully this is a one time thing.

We were spending the night in Valdosta and decided to eat at Austin’s. I am so glad we did. My husband and I both ordered the Prime Rib. I also had the Grilled Shrimp. Our meals were delicious. The Prime Ribs were cooked to perfection. Juicy and tender. The Shrimp was large and seasoned just right. And to top it off we had a great server. Morgan or M3 as she is called. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back. Now we know why the parking lot was packed as we pulled in. Austin’s is a must try.

We were driving through and found Austin’s for dinner. Very good food, there was a wait for the restaurant since it was a holiday but the bar area had plenty of dining area. We had a dinner salad each and split the ribs with side of beans. Great ribs and salads. The wine choices were poor though, well I should correct myself wine by the glass selection was very minimal and poor.

Great place. Great service. Steak cooked just right. When you’ve been on the road and are looking for a decent place to stop, this will do. Big parking area if you’re pulling a boat. Part of a clean, comfy, reasonably priced motel. Have a steak, walk back to your room, have a good night’s sleep and mosey on until you’re in the area again looking for a place to stop. We have it marked on our GPS.

Me and my two girls came to Austin’s after the Father’s Daughters day dance, and found that the food here was amazing. I ordered the steak burger medium, one of my girls ordered the tilapia(which she said was great) and my younger daughter ordered the fried shrimp. Service was top notch. We will most definitely be coming back…

Read my check in. And you’ll think I’m bi polar. But when we got to the main course, I ordered prime rib rare. And it came off the chain perfect. Adding that it must be a local favorite place to dine because every other seat had a dressed to a T father-daughter date that made this small town place that much more charming earning it a 4 on any other night a 3.

Great steak and seafood place in between Atlanta and Florida. Tried the Delmonico, strip and filet minion(listed in order of my favorites). Their grilled shrimp was excellent also. Highly recommended.

01/08/2016: We went there to celebrate my girlfriends birthday I had the filet minion and she had the New York strip: Pros: Waitress was AWESOME. Food was cooked to our request and very tasty, Cons: Mens bathroom needed a lot of TLC. Trash can was on the floor along with the trash, which I picked up. Saw numerous bits and pieces of food and thrash in and around our area. No management on the floor to interact with the customers. Overall: As the old saying goes«You can take it or leave it» I chose to leave it when it comes to this place.

Go… get the chopped steak. It is so great you will never order anything else there. Oh and get both the grilled peppers and onions and the gravy. Delish. AND the price is right.

Vernon was an amazing server. Gave me the best service I’ve ever had. The steak was wonderful as well. Vernon was on top of everything, when I come back I will only accept service from him.

The service was really slow but eventually we got someone to come take our drink and food orders. The waitress didn’t bring our silverware or napkins until after our food came out. I ordered the chicken fingers appetizer with sweet potato fries but I got regular fries with my order and certainly not seasoned. Of course I got the sweet potato fries and they were okay. Overall it was an okay dinner.

Food was good, and the décor is fairly dull & common(deer heads, fish, Longhorns, etc). Unfortunately though, we had a very inexperienced waiter that the manager was perfectly fine with allowing him to provide slow, obviously substandard service without any assistance or oversight from an experienced wait staff member. For example, I ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it was excellent. But there wasn’t remotely enough dipping sauce. So I asked for some more. It just took forever so our options were to wait and finish our calamari after it got cold but with dipping sauce… Or warm with table ketchup. We opted for ketchup. An empty beverage glass for 15 minutes is unacceptable anywhere. After a different patron complained, the manager came over and asked how our dinner was… Explained that the food was fine but they seemed a bit understaffed. He replied«no… This is our normal staff.» He was looking for me to say everything took too long. I was looking for him to accept his share of responsibility. That didn’t happen. So here’s my feedback: Manager, YOU are the problem. Shame on you for setting up a grossly inexperienced waiter for sure failure. Shame on me for wasting $ 70 at a restaurant with such a poor sense of customer service. Go elsewhere, this guy doesn’t deserve your money. Vernon, you should go work somewhere that you’ll be respected. Tonight your boss tossed you under the bus. One star rating because zero stars isn’t an option.

I had extended working deployments in Valdosta, for periods of 8 weeks, 3 times a year. I had a company card, and my hotel did not have a kitchen, so I ate out quiet a bit(and have the belly to show for it now!). When I found Austin’s Cattle Company, I rarely ate anywhere else. Each steak was made perfect, each entrée I ordered was always perfect. And I was getting it for take-out! I ate at the joint a few times, and it was just as good. The bread, the salads, the appetizers, and the steaks are easily top of their game. It’s right off of I-75, and it’s easy to find. The staff is great and was on a first-name basis with most of them throughout my time in Lowndes County. If you’re reading this review and going«meh, that’s just one guys opinion», check out other reviews of this place. You won’t be disappointed. Hands down, best steaks in the 229÷912÷904 area codes.

We have eaten here several times when we have been in the Valdosta area. Food and service have always been good whether we were a large party or small. The steaks can’t be beat.

A typical sports bar, which isn’t a bad thing, I’m just not sure I’d show up here for«Date Night» For me, when it comes to dining there are two categories — Road Food and Family Food. The difference being Road Food is usually a meal without the family and Family Food means food with the family, duh, but that also entails concerns about diet restrictions, calories, vegetables and finally cost. Great service, from being seated immediately to being served a fresh plate of warm bread these folks nailed it. My steak burger was better than most $ 12.00 completely organic, free range beef burgers from other places. The fries were just a big bag of OK, my opinion is that most restaurants are really missing the boat when it comes to French Fries… don’t skimp!

If you are on I-75 and have time for an excellent meal, stop at Austin’s. We’ve eaten here dozen’s of times and never had a bad meal or bad service. I love the chopped steak with mushrooms and onions, sweet potato fries and salad. Warm pumpernickel loaf with butter, yum. They make good drinks and the beer is cold. If you are lucky, the bartender will tell you about her baby goats or the most recent high school football game. Valdosta is a sweet town with real people. Oh yeah, back to the food: steaks are amazing and the ribs are great. Get some steamed veggies or a baked potato with all the extras. I think prime rib is good, too. They don’t stay open too late, so check for hours. It’s good, it’s worth it.
