L & L Hawaiian BBQ

Very poor customer service. The young teenage girls are very inattentive and not friendly at all.
This place is disgusting inside. The floors look like they haven’t been cleaned in years! I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like they make the food. This place is TERRIBLE!!!

First time here. Very busy with locals which is always a good sign. Price is decent and the good smells some good as walking through the door. I got Lau Lau pork (banana wrapped cooking), and BBQ combo #2. Both are excellent!!! Love this place.

I basically only go for the Macaroni Salad and Chicken Katsu. I’ve been to others over the years and this was my first time to the Vallejo store… The service was fast and with a smile and the food was the best I ever had for L&L! will be back for more.

For a fast food chain i would say its good the price is descent. The bbq is damn good, fall side is the macaroni salad is bland and the veggies is raw. Also no restroom i tried the short rib bbq, and slap me with my childhood memories enough said

Service here sucks! 20 minutes for a mini loco moco. Three groups of people ordered after me and got their food before mine even came out.. .wow.

It’s ok. This place really needs a building overhaul. The place is run down and makes you feel like the food is dirty. However, they were very friendly and the food I got (chicken katsu) was good so three stars for me. I like L&L though it is fast food.

For a fast food place the food’s decent. We usually get the same things to go – mixed BBQ plates & spam misubis. Can’t go wrong there!
This time though I decided to add a Ramen Burger because it just intrigued me. A burger between 2 deep fried ramen noodles?! I had higher expectations, I don’t know why. Maybe I was just too hungry. The patty was seasoned well, there was some sauce on the burger, I think the same sauce used in the spam misubi along with some sliced green onions and finely sliced cabbage. The noodles were deep fried and super crunchy (hard) and oily. I really tried to eat it like a burger but couldn’t after 2 bites. It’s so much better without the fried noodles. Would I buy it again? Definitely not. I’ll stick to the basics.
I also have to add that customer service yesterday (3÷30÷15) was pretty good. Not like other reviews I’ve read. The girl behind the counter was very nice, didn’t have a problem with me adding on the Ramen burger after she had already totaled the order. And again after I just paid her, my husband wanted to add on an order of Kim Chee, she said no problem! And rang me up again for $ 1.09 for his Kim Chee. And when the food was ready and I asked for packets of Sriracha sauce, she said they didn’t have packets but pre-​filled little containers. She just didn’t throw them into the bag but put them & the Kim Chee into another little to-​go container incase they’d leak. It’s the little things that stand out, and it’s appreciated!

I used to go here and now i don’t step foot in this or any L&L establishment. I ordered the Mahi to go and I got uncooked nastiness. The worst part is when I got home and discovered the abomination that I received, I immediately called them back and got no answer. So I called again and this time I got an answer but a «sorry we are closed» CLICK.

Decent food, decent price. My favorite spot to grab a spam Musubi. If your hungry and want something quick, can’t go wrong with some l&l :) next to the movie theatre too,. So if u wanna grab something to eat. Do it :)

Pretty disgusting meat and chicken. I ordered the bbq meat and chicken, but the meat was like rubber with a lot of the fat left on. The funny part was that the utensils they give you couldnt cut thru the meat. It would just bend and was pretty useless. My friend was laughing as I attempted to cut it. I ate about half of it because I was hungry but I threw out the rest. Def wont be going back.

It was good. No complaints here.

First time in this establishment, and the last time in. Customer service was downright terrible. The lady at the counter didn’t look too enthusiastic working there. I was put off by the silly fifty cent service fee for using my debit card. Who does that anymore? The place looked unsanitary. When my order came up, the lady didn’t smile or wish me to come back again. Why should I? The food tasted ok, you get a lot for what you pay for, but everything else will keep me from going back.

Bad experience. Food wasn’t mad properly. There fish was frozen I couldn’t eat it.

Wow! I literally bought my food 5 mins ago and it was cold! First time around, i ordered some spam musubi’s. It looked more like a piece of meat w/​rice and broke apart before i bit into it! Chicken katsu should be piping hot. MIne was room temperature. It’s a sad day in vallejo.

I came here since day 1 when this place opened and always had great food! BUT that’s all changed! There food is gross now! I don’t know what happened but every time I go there the food is poor quality and plain out NASTY now! There BBQ beef used to be off the hook now it’s burnt all the time I get it including in the stir fry and still BURNT! Loco Moco is gross now! Hamburger patties burnt to crisp and the gravy is burnt and has a weird taste I love there Mac salad but it has a spoiled smell and after taste! After last night and giving them the benefit of the doubt… my whole family got sick and had upset stomachs from eating there last night! As of now def. not going back for a very long time! Sorry to say! It’s not worth the money getting gross food and upset stomachs!!!

When this place first opened quality of the food was so great and Home-​style cooking. I felt like Auntie was cooking me some good grub.
Today’s meal was soooo disappointing. The rice was stale and dry. Good thing I know how to make rice at home. I don’t normally get the macaroni salad, but may i should have so that I wouldn’t have nearly choked on my stale rice.
i tried the BBQ Porkchop, it was okay. i guess they got so many of these hawaiian BBQ joints popping up that quality has been taken out of the equation. i should have checked my food there or dined in. then i would have gotten a refund of the nasty meal.
funny I should have known because i saw a lady order the BBQ beef and when she opened up her plate, it was 40% burnt beef.
I’m definitely going back to the smaller Moms &Pops Hawaiian BBQ. Brand Names aren’t worth the Bathroom time, i’ll be spending tonight.

EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY POOR Customer Service!
The cashier had dropped my food in it’s styrofoam container (in a plastic bag) and all she could do was say a meaningless“sorry.” It wasn’t until I had to openly ASK HER to fix it – with my katsu, rice, and macaroni salad already falling out of the container — that she actually did.
What the HELL! L&L, You need to stop hiring high school kids that don’t care about their job.

I wasn’t too impressed with my meal here.
First, the high school girl that was working the counter was very inattentive. I walked up to the register to order, but she continued to clean tables, ignoring the fact that I wanted to order food.
Second, she gave me a little attitude when I asked my more macaroni salad and less rice.
Third, when I got my food, it wasn’t anything special. My chicken was decent, but the spare ribs were mostly fat. My teriyaki steak tasted like gristle.
Such as shame, as I really wanted to like this place. Lastly, this place is really dirty. They need to close it down for a few days just to dust the décor, let alone scrub the floors.

Ok, I used to be a big fan of L&L but for the past year they’ve been slackin off.
They never have any salads anymore and for the last three times I’ve ordered Malasadas, it tastes like a variety of deep fried foods. It seems like they fry it in the same oil they fry their other dish, which is just plain nasty! Use a different oil/​pot for each dish so we can taste the difference.
I don’t know what happened but they’ve really gone downhill since they first came to Vallejo.

don’t get me wrong, i’m a big fan of L&L but this one is sub par compared to the others i’ve tried. i usually get the bbq beef and the hubs usually gets the chicken katsu. so i’m going to base my review on these since they are typically the most popular items on the menu. the bbq beef was too chewy and a little undercooked. half of it was
also fat with a few hard parts, and very greasy. the chicken katsu was also greasy and had more batter around it than the chicken itself. it was also dry and a tad overcooked. by the way, the macaroni salad was on the brink of gross… there were wads of mayonaise that wasn’t mixed in correctly so i got a few mouthfuls of mayo with a bit of mac. it was so bland. ugh! what happened to this L & L? don’t let us lose faith in you. someone from corporate needs to set this location in place. i hate to give it just two stars but unless they improve (i don’t know when and if i’ll ever go back though – someones gonna have to convince me), my rating stands.
