Nujo’s Pizza

Nujos is no more. It’s now Pizza vs Burrito. Does anyone know what happened? We just got pizza from here less than two weeks ago.

I really wish you could do half stars. Nujos is more like 1.5 stars and I like to round up instead of down. The first few times I ordered here, the pizza was good, flavorful and not too thick of a crust. They are a little on the pricey side but ok, i’ll pay for quality. However, the last THREE times I’ve ordered here (for pick-​up) they have gotten my order wrong. First time, I ordered a veggie pizza and there were chunks of meat in it. 2^nd time, I ordered the crust extra crispy and it seemed barely crisp. 3^rd time (and last), I ordered 2 extra large pizzas, one veggie, and one margherita style. I sent my BF to pick them up. He comes home with 2 large pizzas (not extra large like I paid for), one cheese, and one with just tomatoes. WTF? I called to get to the bottom of things, was put on hold and then hung up on. Never again Nujos. Never again!

Nujos new owners need to use real plates and not taint a real Restaurant atmosphere, (lots of waste) they also have a «supreme» pizza with but two toppings. The waiter was great no complaints there. The menu was shortened ahhhh ! Pizza needed some more sauce. Also the ranch is no longer home made or taste that fresh :(

I’ve been ordering from this place since 2008 and never had an order wrong until Dec 31^st 2015. I realize mistakes happen but when they aren’t corrected and assumed that you lying when you call to find out what happened with the resolution of this matter, is unacceptable. And the incompetent girl that took my order and wrote down my information who was suppose to inform the manager… supposedly doesn’t work there any more, how convenient. This must be a ghetto family business. Will NEVER do business with them ever again.

The new owners (who took over around November/​December 2015) have made some great changes and more to come I hear. I have had some of the pasta dishes and they’ve always been great. Delivery is quick and the food is nice and hot still. I’m glad they’re doing such a good job and will continue to dine there and have their delivery!

Once upon a time this place was EXCELLENT. Our go to delivery place for years until about November. New ownership/​management maybe? Not upholding the old standards, or has replaced the staff…
The past few orders have had some of the following issues, and the latest had all of them.
Crust is soggy and doughy, not the usual deliciousness.
Takes 10 minutes to order on the phone, with friendly, but often confused service.
Ordered early to avoid the dinner rush and was told it’d be 30 minutes.
It was 60 minutes and nothing more than ‘it left a while ago’ when I called to check on it.
Driver didn’t have change, food was barely luke-​warm.
I have never refused a delivery. Ever. Until this one.
I’ve managed a few pizza joints from chains to boutique, ordering delivery is not rocket science it should not be as problematic as this.
Sorry to see such a great place go so far downhill.

when I was in the mood for that salty New york style pizza, Nujo’s was our go to spot in Vallejo. Came here Saturday night and picked up a pizza. got home and noticed right away it looked different-​not appetizing. The cheese wasn’t melted all the way. The crust was ballon like on the edges and the bottom, soggy and thin. as soon as my husband and I start eating it we really notice it’s different-​mounds of flavorless cheese-​that crappy low moisture mozzarella and the crust is obviously that cheap pre-​made crap that is doughy in the middle but card board like and burnt on the outside. Then I notice there’s no sauce so I take the layer of plastic they call cheese off the top to find the lightest residue of what was the sauce. These cheap asses spread a table spoon of sauce on a large pizza.
I call them and tell them there’s no sauce on our pizza and mention it’s also very different and not in a good way. The girl tell’s me it’s under new ownership, so there’s a new recipe, new ingredients etc… She doesn’t offer a refund etc… So I tell her that it’s definitely not a good change and she should let the owners know.
I’m not sure when this change happened because I feel like I eat there once every 3 – 4 months and this is the first time i’v noticed the difference??? Anyways, if your a fan of Nujo’s, just know they are under new ownership and they have decided to cut costs by replacing what was good with cheap crappy ingredients. I guess they thought no one would notice??? I do and so will Napoli’s when they get all of your customers.

We really used to like Nujo’s and ate a lot of their pizza! But it seems like it may have changed hands or something because the pizza, to us, is not as good any more. Oh sure, they put a TON of cheese on it, but that just made it greasy and weighed down the crust and made it soggy. Sorry Nujo, we’re heading over to the place on Tennessee Street…

I bought a Hawaiian pizza last night and it was DELICIOUS ! there’s a new owner, so all new employees. They have Great deals, I highly recommend it !

I order pizza from this place and pick it up about 2 or 3 times a month, its a few blocks away but I would drive across town. I think this is the best local pizza place in Vallejo.

After giving this pizza place a good review and a few years of service, I am sad to say that I am going to have to find a new pizza place. I feel that since the new owner/​management has taken over the service has been very lackluster. From not taking the correct order to forgetting the pizza. I have placed orders for delivery and upon so have received the wrong pizza, forgotten sides of wings, to receiving everything I ordered EXCEPT the pizza! I place an order about 2 times monthly. and the last 4 orders have been screwed up. I really like the taste of the food, however I can not continue to order and receive half of it and wait for another pizza delivery, especially when I order to eat at a certain time and have to wait while my other stuff gets cold… I am hoping they up their game. but until then I will have to find someone else…

First time coming here and it’s safe to say it will be my last! Don’t get me wrong the waiter was great but the food was terrible! Ordered the meat lasagna and it made me sick like vomiting sick!

We had an undesirable occurrence at Napoli (the first time ever, and hopefully it was a one time matter), so we went to Nujo’s to get dinner. It is under new ownership, but not much has changed that we could see. There is now «bar» seating at the counter.
I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan dinner which came with a choice of soup, salad or garlic bread. The soup du jour was minestrone, my favorite and the reason I love Napoli. Unfortunately the one at Nujo’s was an epic fail. All I could taste was tomato. It seemed like it hadn’t cooked for very long because the tomato flavor was so strong and sharp. The only other thing I saw was big penne noodles along with the tomato sauce. I couldn’t eat it.
My entrée, eggplant parmesan arrived with a side of spaghetti and vegetables. The spaghetti was al dente and served with red gravy (marinara). The eggplant was perfectly cooked, with marinara and cheese. I was very happy with my choice.
Our hostess was very nice and attentive. My only suggestion is to «welcome» the customers when they walk in and let them know that they can seat themselves.
Thanks for providing a nice dinner to what started off at another restaurant on the wrong foot. Rework your minestrone soup and if it’s as good as momma’s, then you’ll have earned that 5^th star.

This is out go to pizza place. We love the Cobb Salad. We’ve enjoyed every pizza we’ve ordered. I really like their crust. There is a delicious sweetness to it. Their cheese is yummy too. The people are friendly. Solid four stars. Good value and delicious.

I’ve had a lot of pizza and lived in NYC and I can say hands down this is the best New York City style pizza you will find in the North Bay. Also? They are courteous and fast and if you pick up instead of deliver it’s 15% off. Seriously love them, give it a try. It’s a Vallejo treasure.

Last month my boyfriend and I went for a visit during lunch. The staff is very friendly and attentive. When we arrived, they seemed busy trying to get their pizza orders out. We had recently ate pizza so, we went for something else. We ordered cheesesticks– to die for! There are some places where they really over fry them and come out too greasy and dry. But I loved them!
My bf order the meat ball sandwich, he said it was the best meatball he’s ever had & he loved the fries too. I ordered a chicken pesto with cheese… I believe it was baked. It was pretty good. But I got full quickly after eating the cheesesticks and the fries. One thing, I’d have to say, maybe the pasta had a little too much cheese, but other than that, I loved it. We will be going back over the weekend.

As a first time customer I was very very disappointed. Our pizza was the Nujos combo and we requested it well done. We do this with all new pizza places in case the pizza is soggy. All I can say is FAIL. Our pizza was so soggy it stuck to the paper and box. My husband actually ate paper!!! We got a refund and lemme tell ya, if the girl behind the counter with the long curly hair and accent had worried more about her customers rather than checking email on the computer at the counter, maybe we would have had a nicer experience as well.

Up until tonight we ordered from Nujos all the time. The last 4 times we’ve ordered from them were horrible experiences and they are never willing to make up for their mistakes with discounts etc. and the manager gets attitude when you complain.
1. We waited almost 2hrs for a pizza only to call and find out that the delivery guy took it back as he couldn’t get in our gate. So we decided to go pick it up since it’d be faster and we alrwady waited long enough… they took $ 2 off, thanks!
2 – 3. Waited over 1hr for each delivery and one time the pizza was Luke warm.
4. Our pizza tonight looks like it was either dropped or set at a slant as all of the cheese and pepperoni are sitting in a poodle on one side of the pizza. When we picked up a slice it literally broke in half… and there’s hardly any sauce.
NEVER again will we order from them… they have changed and don’t care about satisfying their customers!

We have been going here for years. I guess the family sold the business. We ordered a combo tonight. It was very sad. Very little toppings, no olives and tiny pieces of sausage. Very disappointing. I think I might travel across town from now on.

My boyfriend and I order pizza from here all the time, so I’m surprised at the one star reviews.
We have never had a problem ordering, the delivery time is average but the staff has always been courteous (we ordered on Halloween and I gave the guy $ 5 tip and I could’ve knocked him over with a feather, he was so grateful!) but the pizza is really good.
We discovered Nujo’s years ago after he moved to Vallejo and have been big fans ever since.
We usually order the Napa Special and it’s amazing (pesto, feta cheese, delicious!). I am a devout thick crust pizza eater, and their crust never disappoints. Always thick, a little bit chewy (perfectly cooked, however) and has a good, albeit mild flavor.
I prefer their sauce to Napoli, which my boyfriend prefers, but Nujo’s sauce isn’t as tangy. I’m also not a fan of overly tart sauce.
Anyway, I look forward to ordering from Nujo’s. Their pizza is my favorite, but for a while we ordered entrees and sandwiches only, which are also good (penne chicken pasta was my go to).
Sodas are a bit pricey and the minestrone is kinda blah, but over all a great place for pizza in the area. The pizza is made of quality ingredients and it always comes fresh and hot.
