After all these years… still my favorite pizza shop. After my family moved to GN, my Dad would always pick up a pie and bring it home for us to enjoy. Just went back again after a few years… still the most perfect slice of pizza in existence. Nothing like going down memory lane with the simple bite of pizza.

I have been going to Ancona for 40 years. They have the best Regular and Grandma pizza around. My father started taking me to Ancona and Now my 23 year old son just cant wait to get a Gma or roni pie every time he comes to visit. George and Frankie do their best to get you the pie you ordered as quick as possible. The place is a landmark and their pizza holds it place in time. A must try for anyone.

Good neighborhood joint. Good pizza and food for sure. Since I moved to valley stream 2 months ago, this is where I now go for pizza.

The pizza was amazing we ordered a cheese pie and a pepperoni pie, and they were not stingy with the pepperoni or cheese. Will be going back again.

Prices are great and portions are generous, by not my favorite Italian restaurant in the area. We ordered dinner from here New Year’s Day, and learned they did not deliver at all. They’re also cash only, which is super inconvenient when placing a large order! Our food was ready 20+ minutes after we were told, which was especially frustrating when picking up on a holiday. They did throw in a dozen free garlic knots, which were delicious and appreciated. Our group ordered an eggplant roll, Tortellini Alfredo, baked ziti, penne with broccoli and garlic and oil, veal Parmesan and side salads. I’d recommend the eggplant roll and baked ziti, but the penne with broccoli did not have enough garlic in my opinion. Again, prices and portions are very reasonable.

Pizza is always great. Sometimes it takes a little longer than I would like, but for a great pizza I can wait and be happy.

Ancona pizzeria is my favorite by far! I practically grew up at this pizza place and knew most of the guys by name. I’m not on the east coast often but whenever I am I stop by. Best pizza in New York!

Best grandma pie in town. The pizza is made by real Italians, the sauce is authentic and should be sold in jars! Everyone in town gets pizza from here or comes back here after moving out of town. The owners are very kind and always accomodating.

Best pizza in town. We love the food there, best sauce I’ve had in a pizzeria in years. Plenty of seats, easy parking. We also love the pasta & salads too.

I used to be an Ancona regular about ten years ago, it used to be my go-to pizza place on the weekends. However, there are now so many other pizza places that are even closer to me that I frequent those instead. Especially since, as far as I know, Ancona still does not deliver. I decided to try Ancona again a few months ago– yes this review is far overdue lol. I’m not sure what has happened, but the quality of their pizza has gone down tremendously within the past few years. I’m not sure why, since it still seems to be the same people working there. Quite disappointed in their food now.

Came here while on vacation and loved it! The pizza slices are HUGE and delicious! I will definitely come back here when I’m back in town. We got a box of pizza for like $ 18 and it could feed 3 – 4 people. Each huge slice is like two slices in one.

Overrated I think best describes this place. The help there leaves a lot to be desired. The servers behind the counter seem only interested in flirting with the young girls there and when they finally do get to us other unworthy customers who aren’t young females, they take forever to actually give you the food. The place doesn’t even take credit cards. What reputable business in the 21st century doesn’t take credit cards? Let alone a pizza place. Forget just the service problems and the one really obnoxious guy behind the counter, the food itself is far from good. I stopped going when the food started to taste average at best. If you aren’t even going to take credit, you are going to be mean to males walking in there and have an attitude like you are too good for the room, well the pizza better be the best darn pizza around. It definitely isn’t. Its too bad a local place like this has gone downhill so badly. It used to really be a great place. The must go to pizza place in the area. Now Its the must AVOID pizza place of the area. Food used to be great and worth putting up with all the above listed. But they must have changed the pizza chef or something as its not even as good as some of the lesser known places around. If you want a good pizza place that has nice service, takes credit, great food, great prices and just a nice menu go to Vincent’s in Lynbrook. As for Ancona in Valley Stream, I will be avoiding that place from now on for good.

Pizza had flavor, yeah, I’ll give it that. But also had tons of grease. I’m all for a greasy slice but this was on another level. But the food was definitely okay. Service though? Oh boy. The guys behind the counter didn’t attempt to even fake being friendly. Inattentive and downright rude. First I stand there with my debit card in my hand. He sees it. I order, he pops the slices into the oven. I tried to signal that I was ready to pay, waving my card subtly, but he ignored me. So I take it as a cue to wait till foods ready. The pizzas came out and he was ready for payment. I try to hand him my card«cash only, ATM behind you.» Had I realized how I’d just been played(sees card, ignores and waits for pizza to be done, because only a real asshole would leave after having pizza just cooked for him), I would’ve just walked off. Had to use the ATM, $ 3 fee. Two slices and a small fountain soda ran me $ 13 with ATM fee. Best part: some woman came in after me as I dined in, and the man’s face lit up, he was super friendly, and I watched his sad attempt at flirting«do you like it hot? Cause I can make it really hot.» I was creeped out and left shortly after. Not sure who runs this business, but my advice? I don’t care how long you’ve been in business, times change and you need to do the same. You’d be rolling in dough if you accepted card(at least make a minimum payment) and trained your employees in the art of customer service. But I digress. Live around the corner and will not be coming back again. Best of luck.
