Guy at the cashier had great service the guy making the shakes gave me a dirty look and proceeded to not wash the blender thoroughly as I am allergic to dairy and this is extremely dangerous for people with allergies.

Yeah, well, it was OK. Interesting place to people watch. Lots of scruffy guys with their dogs hanging out. Food was good, but not worth going back for. Not handicapped friendly, but dog friendly.

Nice breakfast place for locals. I come here mainly for their delicious acai bowls and smoothies. Every time I visited(usually on weekends) there was always a big line out the door. Very casual setting, with people sitting mostly upstairs(mix-match furniture, giant mirrors, a sofa…) or outside. Breakfast is just okay — boar’s head deli meat sandwiches and such. The guys at the front are always nice. My most memorable visit was when I was sitting outside and a lady asked me(very loudly) if I had any weed on me. I told her I didn’t have any but she kept waiting and staring at me(for a good 2 minutes). I just shrugged and kept eating my acai bowl, thinking, «hey…this is Venice.»

Great food, kinda pricey for just a single meal but you get a salad when you buy a sandwich!

Food here was delicious. Only thing I will say is there should be a couple signs saying they only take cash.

I bet this place would be good but they only accept cash. The ATM wouldn’t work when I tried to get cash, and one of the people gave me a bad attitude since he already started making what I ordered. How about taking credit cards and stop worrying about the 3% fee. Then you won’t waste your food.

This place has a great tea selection. They hand fill steeping bags with whole leaf tea of your choice! The coffee is pretty boss as well. The food is decent. Two issues in that regard: First, long wait times despite being next up to have your food made. Second, they use the microwave too much… Admittedly they are good at it… But it’s not as good as if they cooked everything on the stove. The presentation of the food is well done at least. Overall a good spot to go if you aren’t in a rush and you are into tea and coffee. I wouldn’t come here if the food is the centerpiece of our breakfast experience.

On a pass by trip through Venice Beach, decided we needed coffee and found the Cows End Café. Nice little shop that was hopping when we passed by. The coffee was great and the scone was quite good. Since we didn’t have the time to try the food here, I’m leaving it at 4 stars, but so far worthy of 5. FYI, if you are thinking of trying it out. Bring cash. Though, they do have an ATM inside.

Went here for breakfast on a Sunday morning… The staff and«local» patrons were annoyed that people we were waiting in the«wrong» line to place their orders.(Try putting up a sign or directing people to the correct place when there are crowds forming!) Waited a ridiculous amount of time for a veggie omlette that was terrible– not worth the wait or $. When we couldn’t find a trash can /place to put the plates that we were served on I asked an employee where I could find one. he said«There are trash cans everywhere.» … Dude. The only trash can we found was the one through the tiny hole at the coffee counter and OUTSIDE down the STREET. I guess that’s where he wanted us to put their plates and dishes. Never again, Cow’s End!

This place is great for alone, chill, work on laptop/read a book time. It’s some great café food and there bomb Nutella shake. They have couches upstairs to lounge in but I would stir away on hot days. It’s can get hot upstairs. No parking but I’m sure if you are in the Venice area you already know this! So that doesn’t matter! Lol

Totally a hippie haven. Located a block from Venice beach. Healthy sandwiches, salads, shakes and great smoothies! I come here to chill and get some work done upstairs. In addition to tables they have couches to chill on. If you like Starbucks and want a cool beach hippie café then this is the place for you!

I’m sitting here just now working on some papers. It’s definitely a cool, unique little spot. The smoothies are quite tasty but also contain a lot of sugar. They have wifi and you can get the code when you make a purchase. I also came on a extremely hot day and there is no air conditioning here — something else to consider if you decide to check this spot out.

I used to really like this place. I come here a ton to work/study. There is a lot of seating — there is an upstairs area with tables and chairs as well as a lounge area with couches. There is also seating outside which is awesome when the weather is nice. I’ve tried several smoothies and coffee drinks which have all been great and are super reasonably priced. The food I have seen others order looks delicious. The staff here are all really friendly and know your name if you are a regular. However, my most recent experience here was pretty disturbing. I came here to work and went to the upstairs lounge. There were definitely several homeless people camped out here. There was one lady on the floor basically sleeping under a coffee table. There was another guy here who took off his sneakers and put his feet on a table where people are presumably eating off of. There was another guy angrily screaming on his cell phone about how he has been on the street for days and needs his money and that he is going to sue some company. There were other people lying down on the couches who looked like they haven’t showered in days. Because of this most recent experience I don’t know that I will be returning here:/

Boba! I was so happy to find a boba tea place in Reno. This place isn’t anything spectacular but they have milk teas and bobas and a variety of jellies for a decent price. I tried the regular milk tea with bubbles — it was great. My boyfriend got the blueberry juice with mango jelly. It was reallllly good. Will return.

Looooved sitting in Cow’s End Café after a few hours at the beach and just relaxing. It’s the place to just BE. And it’s beautiful. If I were to create a café based on the city of Venice, this would be it. Anyway, I got the Latino Latte and it was to die for. My boyfriend got a black coffee, and we shared breakfast tacos. If I recall correctly, he was able to choose a special type of black coffee, which got him excited, and I think he liked it. The breakfast tacos were pretty good. They were with chicken sausage, which tasted rubbery to me, but that’s just me. Otherwise, they were great. I’ve also had the Greek salad, which is huge and delicious. Great service, and bathrooms available to use, too!

I come here usually in the early mornings for their delicious non-dairy smoothies(miracle greens or the soy moo are my two usuals) or during lunch to grab an iced americano with a smoked salmon panini. They have an upstairs where you can hang out or get some work done, if you don’t mind the noise. not really a place to study Minus a star for being cash only. I hate carrying cash so that limits my visits here. they do have an ATM inside. The line can get ridiculously long here so try to avoid busy lunch/morning hours. They do have free Wifi, just gotta ask for the password.

I had no idea what to expect when we arrived at the Cow’s End Café in Venice, given that there is literally a cow’s end sticking out of the building’s exterior! I was excited to find a meal perfect for a coffee-loving vegan breakfast seeker :) CASHONLY — If you don’t have cash, there’s an ATM in the building. DOGFRIENDLY — Locals bring their dogs and hang out in the front sipping cappuccinos and SLOWPOURKONACOFFEE — Do yourself a favor and try one of these if you haven’t yet! ACAIBOWL — Just what I needed to start the day healthy! Comes with granola and bananas. I like to add honey to mine. PEOPLEWATCHING — We sit upstairs for prime people watching and a fun treehouse feel. It’s also a nice quiet area for work or study. Will definitely return when back in the area!

Oops– I thought I had reviewed this place already Cows end is simply put– amazing! Great coffee, fresh sandwiches, salads and delicious breakfasts. They also make really yummy shakes, juices and teas. This is a must visit(at least once) whenever I’m in the area. Staff is friendly, & they are open late. Two thumbs up

Hipstery and beachy = awesome people watching. If I had all-day access to this place, I’d spend my hours working on the second floor then treating myself to a massive ice cream cone next door and eating it on the Venice beach that is just a few minutes’ walk away. Ah… paradise. Internet’s fast and parking sucks; but, hey, you can’t beat its location. If you’re lucky, you might score a metered parking spot out front for $ 2 per 2 hrs. Otherwise, it’s possible to bike here given its close location to the bike rental and bike path across the street. Now onto the options: coffeeeeee. Iced coffee = caffeine. ~$ 2 Didn’t get anything else but got to spend an afternoon lounging and people watching. Lots of foreigners and locals alike. I miss it already.

There are so many coffeehouses on Venice, but this one stood out for me the most because of their local friendly service. I really enjoyed how most of the locals here knows each other. I also enjoyed how super friendly and very energetic the staff here too! Love their outdoor seating. I was able to sip my cappuccino on a nice afternoon, and even met a nice local who gave me good tips where to go on Venice. Also, don’t forget to checkout their second floor. It’s so funky and awesome all at the same time. There are bike parking up front, and I don’t recommend driving as this can be a challenge, so take a nice walk and stroll instead and head on in! Until then, Cheers! ~ :p
