Went for dinner. I ordered half dozen raw oysters. Each one had pieces of shells in them. For dinner I ordered cole slaw and green beans as my sides. I was given cole slaw and mashed potatoes. My waitress asked me how my meal was and I said I loved the green beans. She said that’s good. Didn’t she notice I didn’t have green beans on my plate. My dinner partner ordered au gratin potatoes and was served mashed potatoes. The food was good. But when you pay as much as you do at Bonefish, you would expect them to get your order right.

I have been to the Bonefish Grill several times now and I can say this place is consistent. You get nice ambiance, good food, ok service, it’s clean, and different types of seafood you don’t normally find in Rochester. You also get very little food, and a high price tag for it. LOL I do like this place, but the price is steep for what you get, and you don’t get enough of it. For(5) of us our bill came to $ 194.00 and everyone in the group thought the portions were small, but tasted great. So. . I will go back, but just not as often as I do to other seafood restaurants.

Food and atmosphere were great! I ordered the crab cakes but tasted 4 different entrees, all delicious. Coconut crusted shrimp was amazing definitely recommend the dish. Large portions, dinner included bread, a salad and two sides.

This place is just average. The menu looked promising and we ordered the filet Mignon, seared Ahi tuna, bang bang shrimp and a Mac & cheese for my daughter. The filet Mignon arrived overcooked — we asked for mid rare and it arrived well done. That threw a spanner in the works since my entrée of the tuna arrived at the same time. The server offered a complimentary crab chowder while the steak was made again. The crab chowder was a little on the heavy side. Finally the steak arrived and it was mid rare, I was almost finished with my tuna dish. When the bill came, I noticed that the price for the kids meal differed from the menu. So do check you bill. Overall, not memorable and I won’t be recommending this place.

The wagu and Ginger pot stickers were pretty good. Good flavor and the soy/goyza sauce was delish. The accompanying cucumber, green onion salad was very good too. I had the wild orchid Hawaiian martini… literally one of the best martinis I’ve ever had!!! Very smooth and tasty!

Had a 7:15 pm reservation. Asked at 7:15 for table. Asked again at 7:30. Seated about 7:40 in bar room booth. Place was very busy, but they should have been ready. Drinks came quickly, but food came to each person about 5 to 10 minutes apart. Ran out of bread plates. My sea bass was ok, but not great. Meal seemed over priced for what we received. Maybe better on a night other than Valentine’s, but I don’t think I’ll be back.

We’ve given this spot 2 chances now. Both times, it was disappointing. It’s overpriced and the food is just so-so. There are many better seafood places in the ROC to try, even other chains are better than this place(and better priced)!

The crab corn chowder was really good. So was the bang bang shrimp. Wedge salad had too much dressing. Fish and chips were good. Filet looked and tasted like a sirloin. The crab cake and Augratin potatoes were fabulous. The Black Russian was good, too. dessert was outstanding as was the service!

Have never had a bad meal or appetizer here.. Service for the most part has been very good.. The tuna sashimi is excellent.. And what can you say about the bang bang shrimp.. Decent selection of wine.. Good atmosphere at the bar and options about dining are wait for a table or eat at the bar tables on a busy night..

I love seafood and fish. There are not many choices in Rochester to get a variety of fish like you will find at Bonefish Grill. I find that the service is always great and happy hour drink specials a plus. The warm bread they serve with the oil is delicious. There are usually 7 fish choices with 5 different styles/sauces to choose from. You’re not going to get big city quality here but for a chain restaurant, I think its pretty darn good.

We came here with friends, as they specifically said they wanted to go here, and as they were visited from out of town, we didn’t try to suggest a better option, because it seemed like they had their hearts set on this place. O.k. Everything I said last year still stands, sadly. Smaller portions of average not-special food, for more money. This was a particularly bad visit as half of the entrée specials weren’t available. This is on a Thursday evening at 6pm(our friends are early birds) when you would expect the availability of specials to not be impacted, by say high volume of a late night or weekend, this points to poor planning and inventory management. The kitchen and service staff were out sync as well as there was a complete run-out of the complimentary bread(is that a loss?) further indicating a problem with managing the basics. And while the wait staff seemed friendly they also seemed inexperienced and slightly frazzled by all of the issues going on around them. And as to our friends who picked this place — we found out later that they chose this place because wanted to use their $ 20 gift certificate. Oh, really, well I think I need to review the rating of that friendship in my mind.

Really I’d like to give this place a 2.5 and was trying to decide back and forth if I should round it up or down. But our time on Sunday left me with the feeling«Meh. I’ve experienced better» so 2 stars it is. We went for Mother’s Day, granted yes it was busy but it really shouldn’t have been anything this chain restaurant hasn’t handled before. Service was almost unbearably slow. My Wild Orchid Hawaiian Martini was the best part of my meal. However my mom ordered the red sangria and said it was hardly sangria — a red wine with some berries in it doesn’t cut it. We ordered bang bang shrimp and calamari for apps — the shrimp came out and was delicious, while the calamari was no where to be found. We told our waitress not even to worry about bringing it out, since it should have been time for our meals anyways. She brought it out, and you could tell it had been sitting there the whole time. It was. bad. Main dishes came out and also seemed like they were sitting there. My mom ordered a Tilapia dish and had to send it back because it was like rubber and couldn’t even be cut. She wanted strawberry shortcake for dessert — the biscuit was the best part, the strawberry sauce was not good at all — tasted way to processed and not like the fresh fruit it should be. Needless to say, I won’t be rushing back to Bonefish anytime soon.

Food is OK, but Service is Terrible– Don’t Waste Your Time and Money Had reservations at 7:30 for a party of 8 on a Sat. night. Checked-in and had drinks in a crowded bar area. After 20 minutes, went back to host and was told our table has been ready. However, they never gave us a pager or looked for us. We were seated in a booth in the back between the restrooms and kitchen. We had a wait for orders to come up and when they did nothing was served together. Three people ordered simple side salads(at an extra cost) and only one was delivered. After 5 minutes, the other two appeared. There was another long pause and then 3 meals arrived, after 5 minutes, 3 more arrived and after another 5 minutes the final 2 meals arrived. The food was lukewarm and the portions were small for the price – especially the vegetables. The quality of the food was OK but not great. The desserts were the highlight. After 3 hours and a $ 260 bill plus the cost of bar drinks, we left and vowed, never to return. Bonefish has a busy bar crowd who drinks and eats appetizers, but we would never go again with a party of eight. There are too many other restaurants with better food and much better service for the money.

Had a reservation, got there early and got seated immediately. That was good. My ribeye steak came a little bit done for medium rare, the friendly server took it back without a problem. A replacement was bought out, made to order. Wish it was a little bigger. No complaints here. May return with friends. I enjoy the Modern Mojito.

I used to look forward to going to Bonefish, not anymore. I used to consider this a 4 Star restaurant given the price level, not aymore. It seems that for the last nine months or so this restaurant keeps changing. It seems every month or so another well liked item is dropped from the menu and new item are added. It’s great for new items but why cut off well enjoyed items such as Salmon Asparagus Salad. Yes it’s true if you were a regular they will make it if you ask for that, but first you have to ask. Last time I was there the waiter had no knowledge of that item. That same night another item that a friend of mine ordered was some form of Taco with I believe tuna. Yes the item was still there but the amount was so small of an amount that the friend was still hungry after eating the item. Keep in mind the same person used to order it regularly. This is not a terrible restaurant, just not special anymore, just another chain that is usually found in a Mall. Follow up: in the last four months it has totally changed. We never stop coming, we just was coming less often. Now again we are once again very happy. Thus, once again we are happy to give four stars. More so we will be here regularly. 805

A-OK! We got lucky and had lunch here the other day! Our server was very attentive but didn’t know the menu well, so she had to go back to the kitchen several times to check on ingredients(we’ve got some allergies in the fam). She(and the kitchen staff) accommodated of all the allergies, which I really appreciated. They also scrounged up one crayon each for the kids. That said, the kid’s meal was great and our food was also delicious. The corn chowder was creamy and flavorful, and the tacos were deeeeeeelicious!

Being not a huge seafood fan in a family full of seafood lovers, it’s no surprise I would end up here. I was pretty excited to go here because I have heard so many good things… but tonight a was a bit of a disaster. I am definitely not one to complain after working in the food service for years… but tonight was a difficult one. To begin, the service was sub-par. She was nice enough, but there were many things that were looked over. I had to ask for bread three different times to finally get it(the bread is awesome, by the way), I ordered a club soda with lime, and never got it until I physically asked the bar tender for it… when I finally had it and had a generous sip, it was then refilled with water… kinda ticked me off. I ordered the pork chop with the marsala sauce with a small side of pasta and Potatoes Au Gratin. The pork chop looked good but it was completely over done. The outside was much too crispy and the inside was dry and unsavory. The potatoes were good… for the single ice cream scoop size I got. My pasta, which I was looking forward to, was overcooked and mushy, unfortunately. My boyfriend’s burger was dry, but his french fries where fantastic. I have only been here once, so I’m not sure if maybe it was just a bad day for the staff… but unfortunately I don’t see a future visit ever again. Also, being somebody who doesn’t like seafood, I’m not an accurate resource for the seafood quality, though my mother did enjoy her shrimp and scallops. My mother’s boyfriend’s seafood dish was overcooked however, he was a little disappointed in that. My grandfather loved the standard fish fry they offer. The ambiance is nice, and the staff is nice, just a little flaky. Tonight was a celebration dinner and I feel bad it didn’t go well. These things happen though. Skip Bonefish and just head over to one of the 3 major restaurants in Eastview. Biaggis, PF Changs, and Champps are well worth the money and the portions are much larger for the same prices… Also, as an update, my boyfriend and I have been fighting a stomach sickness since we arrived home… not sure if it’s directly related to bonefish or not but a lot of other people have seemed to write about digestive issues, so we’re inclined to believe it may be Bonefish.

Our meal here was decent, if not very memorable. We were pleasantly surprised to find that happy hour was still happening when we arrived, although we had to wait at least 15 minutes past our reservation. For $ 3 we each enjoyed a small carafe of(very cheap) wine which made waiting for our food more pleasant – especially because we waiting a very long time. We devoured two loaves of bread with oil – in part because it was delicious, and also because we were starving. I had the fish special of the night and my girlfriend had the crab cakes. Dinner was decent, but when we got home my girlfriend had terrible stomach cramps all night. An oddity that we noted: there was no hot water in the bathrooms. Not even tepid water; no, there was only frigid water for washing one’s hands before returning to the ice-cold dining room. To say I was cold while I ate is an understatement.

I understand Bonefish Grill is a chain, but despite that, I still find it some of the best seafood that I can find in Rochester. The chefs here really do know how to cook fish and when it comes out, it tastes good. Just because it’s a chain, does it necessarily make it bad? Absolutely not. The waiters and waitresses and staff in front have all been extremely courteous on countless trips here and even on two occasions I’ve had a chef come in from the kitchen to ask us how our meal was and if we had any questions. Really really lovely ambiance, I like the décor, and the food is delicious — not much more to say then that! I do agree that some of the food might be price-y, but I really do think you get a fantastic experience for the price you pay. I’ve also been here for Sunday brunch two or three times and it is also phenomenal — would highly recommend the crème brûlée French Toast, S’more’s Hot Chocolate, and Oscar crab and asparagus omelet. All of it again was really, really good. Bonefish Grill, you’ve won me over — stay how you are forever!

Bonefish Grill is one of the few chains I will go to without threatening to end friendships. However, they are always very busy and without a reservation on a Fri or Sat night, you will be waiting an hour, if not more. I hate their Bang Bang shrimp — poorly fried shrimp tossed in approximately a gallon of «spicy» mayo, I don’t have enough time or energy to talk about their«Singapore Calamari» — which is just fried calamari with a sickly sweet dipping sauce — nothing remotely Singaporean or even Asian about it. Their house salad is surprisingly good — hearts of palm, pine nuts and a cilantro vinaigrette set this one above a lot of chains and non chains I have been to. It is an extra $ 3+ to add this onto an entrée and $ 5+ by itself so it is definitely pricey. I have tried their grilled grouper, seabass and shrimp/scallops with a variety of sauces. The Pan Asian sauce is kind of sweet. I prefer the chimichurri or mango salsa. Bonefish Grill is fond of putting bacon in their sides so I usually stick with the jasmine rice or steamed veggie options. On my last trip, I tried the Ahi Tuna«Tokyo Style»($ 15.90 for the small portion). It was actually surprisingly decent. It consisted of about 3 oz of sesame seed crusted tuna seared lightly over jasmine rice with a side of steamed broccoli and green beans with a touch of sesame oil. Sadly, the mysterious«Asian sauce» on the description turned out to be more of that pseudo spicy mayo. Next time I will request one of their pan sauces instead. There was also a gob of wasabi, pickled ginger and a little dish of soy sauce. I stared at it for 15 seconds before realizing the seared Ahi tuna was supposed to be consumed like sashimi. Not a bad idea. Overall I enjoyed my meal. It was also one of the healthier meals I have had while eating at chains. My friends tried the lobster roll with housemade chips, king salmon(special) and seared shrimp/scallops with a side of quinoa. The lobster salad wasn’t overly mayo-y and had a nice bite from the celery/red onion. The housemade chips were crisp and salty. My friend enjoyed his king salmon greatly. The quinoa was not very well liked — it was bland and needed salt. My friend asked the server if she could switch it out for the jasmine rice which was done without complaint. The service was attentive and efficient. The ambiance is a slightly more refined version of most chains. I recommend asking for a booth to avoid being packed in. If you have non seafood eating friends, Bonefish Grill does have steak, chicken and even a burger(seriously?) on their menu. In a town with very few options for seafood, Bonefish Grill is one of the better choices. They have the sales volume to make sure the seafood is just not sitting around getting freezer burned. It is a little pricey for what you get IMO but I would come back.
