A friend of my husband really loved this place so we decided to give it a go. The servers were not very friendly. We were given our appetizer of fries without plates and silverware. The ketchup bottles were disgusting with dried ketchup all over them. We were seated right outside of the kitchen and I wish I hadn’t had been. You could see how dirty the kitchen was. The pizza tasted like a frozen boxed pizza. I will not be visiting this restaurant again.

We are enjoying our visits to this small restaurant! Each time we have gone we have been treated well and served hot, delicious food! They seem to struggle keeping servers, but it hasn’t affected our service.

I really wanted to like it… the bubbly staff and decent cheese cake couldn’t save the place from bad pizza. Friend and I had cheese pizza and their sauce was SOUR. Was it straight up tomato paste? I don’t know and don’t really care to try again.

My new favorite place! I got the spaghetti with meat sauce, its like homemade and it is so so good! It was a big portion too, especially for the price. The girl that took my order was very nice and extremely helpful. I was asking what kind of fries they have(I like crinkle cut) and she even went in the back and got a fry to show me :) She told me about their delivery which is only a $ 2 charge and NO minimum order, which is awesome because most places make me order way more than I can eat to get it delivered. I will definitely be going back and ordering delivery!

At first I gave this place high praise. Just about every visit the pizza was very good, although most of the time an hour wait, but during my last visit the sauce tasted off, sort of sour. When I called to let them know I was told I was wrong, pretty much a liar, and didn’t care if I was a customer or not. Too bad the customer service is horrendous because they do have good pizza.

First experience here was great. This staff and owner were very kind and accommodating. The food came out just as I had ordered and the portions were good. I had a cheese steak with mushrooms and my wife had a pizza steak sandwich. The desserts are made in house. I’m glad to see more restaurants come to the Vinton area and I will continue to support this new establishment.

Very good. Had the cheese steak sub and it was the closest to philly that I found. Good job

When the wait at our«regular» Italian eatery was longer than it was worth, we decided to try out a new, little place I had driven past a few weeks ago. I’m really glad we did! Giardino’s has only been open for a couple of months as of this writing. Most of the dozen tables were full — which proved to be both good and bad. Good because word must have gotten around about the good food; bad because it overwhelmed the lady who was waiting tables. When we arrived, a number of the tables had not been cleared or wiped down. We sat at an unoccupied(and unwiped) table and perused the large menu. The menu selections were an interesting mix Italian, Mediterranean, and Americana. There was a wide variety of Italian choices such as pizza, calzones, and pasta dishes. Also offered were multiple types of salads, sandwiches, and subs. Interestingly enough they had hummus, falafel, and gyro wraps alongside chicken nuggets, onion rings, buffalo wings and fries with an assortment of toppings. We finally decided which direction to take with our meal: tossed salad, pizza, and calzone. The tossed salad was fresh and consisted of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers, and fresh mozzarella cheese. It was large enough that the three of us were able to share it. The pizza and calzone were perfectly cooked(hot and fast) and had crispy New York-style crusts. The crusts had thin, crunchy exteriors and light, airy centers. The sauces, cheeses and toppings were tasty and fresh but, in my opinion, the crusts were probably the best in our area. On the way out, we decided to get some desserts«to go.» Most of the desserts were house-made. Our selections were excellent! The tiramisu, rice pudding, and baklava were all«to die for.» The three of us shared the desserts and couldn’t decide which treat was the best. Overall, prices were very reasonable, the food was very good and the desserts were excellent. The restaurant seemed to be suffering from some start-up pains and a bit of an identity crisis(as evidenced by its menu) but should have a bright future if they can solve these minor issues. The owners are pleasant and personable and have some menu items of which to be proud. I hope they focus on their unique menu choices and reduce or eliminate the items that are not house-made(buffalo wings, onion rings, chicken strips, etc.) The area could really use a restaurant which focuses on excellent, authentic Greek and Mediterranean dishes. Giardino’s has a good start.
