IHOP

I’ve been here a couple times before. Service isn’t bad. They’re pretty attentive and remember what you ask for, pretty much makes sure you get what you pay for.
Food is pretty good. The only thing about this location though is that it’s coporate not franchise. So they don’t have those nightly specials like the others have.
They’re sirloin tips n’ eggs here are cheaper. That’s awesome. Pretty good too, this time I got them with the red velvet pancakes instead of the original buttermilk.

I came to this location for the first time several months. I had Dwight as a waiter and it made the whole experience so wonderful we’ve started coming a couple times a months just because it’s so refreshing having such an amazing waiter. He’s very attentive, you’re never waiting on anything and he is so upbeat and funny. We went today and sadly found out he wasn’t working the morning shift. Honestly, it crossed or minds to just eat somewhere else. We’ll probably start calling ahead making sure he’s there. Sound strange but once you have him as a waiter you’ll completely understand.

You would think with this location being in Town Center that it would have just a bit more class, but that is not the case. This has some of the worst clientele of any of the IHOPs I’ve been to in either Virginia Beach or Norfolk, especially over the weekend where they are open 24hrs and all the people walk out of the bars/​clubs and over here to nurse their hangovers, show off their promiscuity, or make everyone else uncomfortable. Service is usually very slow even when almost no one is there and you can usually find a cop somewhere on the premises talking down drunk women or talking to cooks or wait staff outside when they should be in the kitchen. The staff changes often (perhaps for good reason) and the only really good things I’ve seen here were «Faith» and «Trisha», a wonderful manager and waitress (respectively) who made you feel welcome and were very sweet, saving this from being a one star review. The food, as usual, is typical IHOP fare, as-​in, average.

Had a great experience here thanks to our fabulous waiter Dwight; he was very attentive and professional. The eggs were made perfectly but sides could have been warmer. I am sure they make the bacon and sausage ahead of time but they should get a better system to keep it warm.

Unorganized chaos they were cursing they were aggravated the food came wrong French toast had 0 flavor pancakes were as flat as my floor carpet, eggs were ok sausage and bacon good the people were nice just they seemed so flustered with only half the place full,.

A new level in food quality & service. THE WORST ever! One hour wait, cold food, hair in food, couldn’t get order straight. Manager unwilling to reduce bill, even though customer in front of me got a discount for waiting 40 min. This is the second bad experience with IHOP. NEVER AGAIN! Denny’s will get my money next time.

Extremely disorganized. The staff don’t seem to get along. I can hear them yelling in the back parking lot a lot! I’m sure the residents don’t appreciate it in that apartment complex behind there.

My family of 5 came in for breakfast on a foggy and gloomy Saturday morning. Our server, Ed, took care of us — he had a cheerful and friendly demeanor; we can tell that he enjoys working here and we loved his attitude, which brightened our day. We truly appreciate the service from him.
My brothers had the breakfast platter with pancakes, my parents split blueberry pancakes with their garden Omlet and I had chicken florentine crepes. Great food, great service. We look forward to our next visit :)

The last two times we’ve been here we’ve seen people walk out for (1) cold food, and (2) no service; due to a lack of staff and an abundance of disorganization within the staff they do have. Rather than handle the situations gracefully, most of the wait staff complain bitterly and loud enough for all the patrons to hear. They complain about each other and the customers! The only waiter who seems to keep a smile on his face and a positive, confident attitude is Moses. Ask to sit in his section if you come here. If he isn’t working, go somewhere else.
Note to staff: If you lack the confidence to perform your job well, your customers and co-​workers will lack confidence in you as well.

The food was ok but the main reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the waiter who served us he was polite and very good at his job! Been a long time since my wife and I received service like that!

Had to wait a bit; however, it was worth it. The food was good for the price, the host was friendly, and our server Issac was fantastic. He gave above average service on a busy Saturday morning.

So at IHOP right now. Got here about 11:45. Got sat by a rude waitress. Her name is Bianca or Blanca. It’s not even busy right now. Two groups of people came in after us and she got their drink orders and silverware before ours. When we asked for silverware she grabbed some from the table behind us and slammed it on the table. She looks like she’s miserable. Another table had to grab utensils because she didn’t give them any. She’s has a frown on her face. If you don’t like where you work, quit and find a job that you enjoy. Let someone who wants a job take yours. Also shouldn’t a person wash their hands after handling money and cleaning a table? She didn’t. It is now 12:12. Still waiting on our food. It’s not that busy. It is now 12:18 the table that came in after us has now received their food. And they also had to grab their utensils from the table behind them. 12:21 she finished bringing the food to the table after us. 12:24 she came to our table to let us the kitchen was slammed. The people who were here before us just left. 12:29, a lady walked in had been waiting for 10 minutes to get seated just walked out and told people walking in not to come in. Another table after us got their food before us. It is now 12:30. Food finally arrives at 12:32. I ordered an omelette with tomatoes, spinach green peppers and onions. The vegetables were cold. My hash browns were not crispy enough. All that waiting for cold crap. My husband had the bacon temptation omelette. His tomatoes were cold too.

My friend and I came here at about 3AM after a night of dancing. He was hungry, and I wasn’t but I didn’t mind taking the trip here. The waitress we had was so nice. After I insisted that I didn’t want anything to eat; just a glass of water, she let me know that I can get free pancakes becuase I had a military ID. I was NOT going to turn down free food.
I really appreciate her letting me know that because she didn’t have to. The pancakes were actually a great late night snack (even though I didn’t need them) lol and you can never go wrong with the butter pecan syrup. I’m glad that we stopped here. Great service.

Went to eat there tonight and had the worst experience with our server and food. Our server was in the weeds with three tables. We asked for hot sauce and got it halfway through the meal. The pancakes came after we finished our meal and our kids were done. They were rubbery and obviously microwaved. Our server acted proud to deliver our late pancakes and stated it was because she was «the bomb». Actually your service was terrible and it reflected with your terrible tip. Would have talked to the manager but she was too busy outside. Stay way from this location there are much better ones in Virginia Beach.

Going on 30 minutes and my girls and I still don’t have pancakes. It doesn’t even take me that long to make them from scratch at home. The service will say whatever they can to placate you. Even lie to you that the food will be ready in 3 minutes, then come out 3 minutes later and say they are starting your food now. When the food finally came out 37 minutes later, my pancakes were green. I’d give 0 stars if I could.

Horrible. Every single time. Day or night. Breakfast or dinner. Horrible. Service stinks. Always understaffed. Management non existence. I have demanded a manager and still not gotten one. Horrible. Horrible. They should ashamed to charge anything.

I went into your new location at 11:15. You get one star for how clean it was. We arived and stood in the lobby for quite a while, employees passing by us not paying any attention. Soon the hostess came and seated us. We waited 10 minutes before any employee came to ask us our drink order. He seemed very inexperienced. The drinks were prompt though. We ordered, i got there new Blueberry canolli cream pancakes with sausage and eggs, my friend got the turkey sandwich.
We waited 25 minutes. No server came to fill our drinks or ask how we were. Finally after a while my friend asked for a manager, from a passing server, because our food still had not come 30 minutes later. He looked around for a minute and suddenly became the manager. Ok, good job taking charge. He said he was going to check on our food but just went back to waiting tables. 5 minutes later our server returned with our food, which looked like it had been sitting. My eggs and sausage were cold, and the ricotta cheese on the pancakes tasted very off. My friends sandwich was dry, came with bacon on it for some reason and the cheese slice on it was hard around the edges. Im not one to complain in a resteraunt. I know how hard some people work, so i ate the sausage and eggs and ate around the ricotta on my pancakes which was a huge mistake.
For the last 15 minutes ive been glued to the toilet vomiting non stop. I will NEVER go back to this place again. When IHOP was across the street we had to deal with snobby waitresses that hated their job but at least the food was warm, prompt, and tasted good.

My wife and I were the first customers of your newly opened IHOP restaurant near Towne Center last month. We shared our honest observations at that time and the area manager provided a gift card and an invitation to return, which we did approximately 6 weeks later. The following are a few observations and recognize both an exceptional as well as a seriously non-​performing employee (names withheld but provided to the area manager by separate message).
GENERAL OBSERVATIONS
Food quality was significantly improved; however, as before, the order was delivered in phases (courses?), somewhat what one would expect from a five-​star French restaurant, which, with all due respect IHOP is not. More importantly, there were errors that remained uncorrected, e.g. pancakes delivered instead of toast — toast never delivered.
Also, there was a distinct appearance of disorganization — bordering on pandemonium and we also observed obvious customer dissatisfaction.
It is possible that because of the foot traffic volume that this restaurant enjoys, these considerations are of limited or no interest. That would be the subject of a business decision.
EMPLOYEE OBSERVATION
Our greeter, (name provided to area manager), was an unmitigated disgrace and exceptionally rude. When my wife asked for a specific booth, he was about to escort us to that location. Then another customer arrived after us and he chose to escort her before my wife. When called to his attention, he dismissed the event.
I was about to leave, but was persuaded by another employee, a server, who took charge, among all of the confusion, persuaded us to stay and worked as well as he could to overcome the other issues described. My opinion — the greeter would have been fired on the spot and the server given a commendation.

Ridiculous wait time with every table in sight being available. No room to walk around and the waitress asked me to repeat my order because she forgot it and then when she read it back she still didn’t get it right so I just gave up and said «that’s fine bring me that»

Very quick and friendly servers. The bathrooms are also clean which is a plus. The crepes are amazing and so is everything else on the menu. Lots of parking available.
The only downside is the walkway upon entering. There is little to no walking/​turning room between paying and waiting for your seats. Other than that, I don’t have not one negative thing to say.
