Sun Hing Buffet

I was first introduced to this place by my boyfriend and we have now introduced my 11 year old daughter to it… I am not an expert on buffets and do not have much experience with them; however for the price it is awesome and the food is always good. Highly recommend.

They refuse to fix a broken bathroom pipe or something there’s a huge stench that’s coming from the restroom area the stench is really strong last two times I went it smelled really bad. I wont be going back. The food is ok but with that nasty stench you lose your appetite quick. I wonder if thats the reason why they refuse to fix it.

I came here with a group for Mother’s Day since everything else was packed. Four people from my group left early and paid their bill separately. When we got our bill they charged us plus the four who had already left. They flipped on us when we told them that the others had paid already. They wouldn’t let us leave until we paid for them which we were not going to do.
The manager was super rude! She accused us of lying and even threatened to call security. I called my friends and told them to send us a picture of their receipts. Luckily they had them and we were able to leave this over crowded place.
First and last time we will be at this restaurant!!!

Gotta be honest… this place is terrible :(I didn’t have super high expectations considering it is a buffet after all, but the food was just gross.
My husband and 2 year old daughter and I went here hoping for a decent meal, but we’re so disappointed to pay $ 30 for food we barely ate because it was so bad. The chicken, beef, and shrimp were soggy and and the shrimp was undercooked.
I would recommend going to Chin’s on Oceanside or Vista. The food there is incredible and you pay basically the same amount for WAY better quality food!

Food is pretty good, price ain’t so bad $ 12.95 per person pretty reasonable for a buffet.
The only thing that bugs me and why I’m giving it 2 stars is the employees and the service everybody that works looks completely MISERABLE and you have to asked them to take the empty plates or for a refill.
You’ll see the girls just sitting down doing nothing with a full restaurant, and you’ll have to wave them down.
That for me brings the value down a lot.

Awful foods that can’t make it. The foods is cold and hard. The worst Chinese foods I even HAD!!! Noodles soggy rice tasteless meat very hard can’t swallow.

It’s an old gem. We love coming here. Their seafood is always fresh. The flavors are mostly perfectly balanced. My kids love their sushi because they are authenyic and don’t have cheese in them. My mother– in– law who hates, I mean HATES Chinese buffets, loves eating here whenever she visits. The wait staff are always courteous and friendly. We don’t end up with crowded tables due to used plates pileups. The owners are very nice and I love how they play Christian praise songs in the background. This is our go– to Chinese food here in the North County. Be sure to check your Community Guide for their 15% off coupons. Birthday person eats free with minimum two payong adults. Love it!

I GOT FOOD POISONING FROM THIS PLACE!!! I literally sh** my soul out. The fries looked like they were sitting there for two days. The meat was sweaty and looked like it has been reheated repeatedly. The water tasted like jail water. The waitress gave me a check after my first plate of food like saying get the f out of here. The next day I was stuck on the toilet all day. I literally took at least 12 dumps throughout the day. I never felt so violated in my life. I never knew I could urinate out of my ass. I’m a guy by the way. After two days I went to urgent care because I was concerned of my condition. I couldn’t even get through my doctor’s visit without taking bathroom breaks. I recommend this place if you want to stretch your butthole three more inches.

Buffet selection was horrible! And well the food tasted nasty. Ordered to go and we can barely even eat it because it tastes so bad! The orange chicken is soggy and wet tasting. So gross!!! The green beans taste like plastic. The broccoli beef taste like rubber. This is probably the worst meal I have ever had in my life!!! And the staff there just walks right past you if you ask them a question about their food.

The customer service is lacking, but I love the food. I come here for the pot stickers, cheesy crab, stuffed mushrooms, spring rolls, and chicken. Sometimes the pot stickers are too soft though, maybe they need to be cooked longer.

I’ve been going here for 2 years. Best $ 9 lunch around. Can’t believe the bad reviews. Never had a bad experience here!

What a horrible place the food is not good, taste bad just an overall bad experiences.

Traditional Chinese buffet in the sense that they have your traditional foods… Decent selection of food… I really enjoy the small seashell with crab egg & cheese… Staff is friendly, place was just remodeled so looks better… over all it’s not bad but the reason for the 3 stars is that they never really switch up the menu. They do have a small sushi section and desert section

I visited with my family on Halloween night after an early night of trick or treating.
We were followed around to see what food we selected and three waitresses stood by our table watching us eat, it was so uncomfortable! To top it off, they decided when it was time for us to leave because they brought the check over and took away my sister-​in-​laws plate while she was eating… (there was still 2 hours until closing)
We won’t ever go back there, we’ve been here before and everything was fine but this experience was unforgettable.

Pretty decent choices especially for seafood lovers. The crab legs aren’t as good but the shrimp are okay. :) Their plantain is consistently yummy and their ice cream choices aren’t that bad either. I’d go back for my next craving.

This place was alright, there is alot of different chicken dishes to choose from. All the options were ok, just don’t get the ice cream because it has bad freezer burn. I would come back if in the area.

Wow! The latest reviews for this place are TERRIBLE! We ate here last month and I cannot agree with the reviews I am reading. The food was fresh when we arrived and continued to be brought out while we were there. The only thing that I can honestly say sucks is their version of sushi. The entrees were all fairly tasty and plentiful. The service we received, in regards to clearing our table and refilling our drinks was spot on! I did not sense any hostile demeanor’s, as some have indicated.
They get 3 stars from me (us), as the food and service are A-​OK, which I believe is a fair assessment of a decent Chinese buffet! Family friendly Chinese buffets are fast paced enterprises and the foods are usually middle of the road in taste and presentation. If you want to be «catered» to, «socialized» by the staff and/​or have a «gourmet» experience then don’t go to a damn BUFFET, any buffet!!! If in the are and in the mood for a Chinese BUFFET we’ll stop here again. If my experience changes I’ll be more than happy to update this review.

Ok to be very honest we had gone here in the past and found it dirty and the selection was limited for a buffet.
BUT, today we parked and walked to the door and did not even hesitate to turn around at the entrance. Stuck my head in and it was busy (cheap mother’s day outing for many) but what turned me completely off was on the left side of the door was a female smoking and texting and to balance it off on the right side was a larger man sitting in his Sunday best also smoking.
Yuck. Big Yuck.
I promised my SO we will try on a week day when they first open in the morning to test this place cause it is so close. to be continued…

Pros:
— Cheap, I believe it was $ 12 per person for dinner
— Servers were quick to clear plates and refill drinks
— Immediate seating
Cons:
— Food was not fresh. We had dinner around 6:30p on a Sunday and the food looked and tasted as if it had been sitting out for a while. Fried foods lost their crunch, stir frys turned into a goopy blob of meat and veggies.
— Food was just OK. Nothing spectacular… and yes, I know what to expect at these chinese buffets, but the food here just not that great.
All in all, it ‘s okay if you’re looking for a cheap, filling meal.

Wow, I haven’t updated a review, and I have been coming back to this place many times. We’ve also used their party platters many times.
The food has been wonderfully fresh, and tasty. They try and get the food replenished as soon as they see it’s coming to a low.
The dining area is kept up and the servers are always on top of refilling your drinks and removing any used plates from your table.
The women’s bathroom has been kept clean and bathroom trash emptied, I haven’t seen it over flowing with garbage.
The staff are friendly, especially the owners, or managers, not sure of their positions but they are professional, yet friendly. Some of my favorites, sesame seed red bean ball, fried plantains, fried sugar donuts, fried shrimp, just to name a few. We surely will be back.
