This was the best dining experience on Maui — awesome service, beautiful resort, our server David was attentive and friendly, the food was super fresh — I am super gluten intolerant and dairy intolerant and they had gf beer!(Didn’t wake up with stomach cramps +1) and the chef prepared amazing gf df entrees. Our second server with glasses was awesome as well — Thank you guys!

Just had dinner here tonight and it was delicious as always. Amazing service as well. Everything from the poke tuna appetizer to the lamb chops was so good. Great views too with a perfect sunset.

Foodies listen up. If you come to Maui and miss this place, it’s a shame. First class service is just the appetizer, but then they serve you a bunch of amazing food and know all about what they’re serving you and it’s just beyond words. Using locally sourced ingredients, the recipes are classic Wolfgang Puck but with Hawaiian flair. Eat all the bread they serve and listen closely to your waiter as you ask questions: they won’t let you down!

We came here last week for my birthday dinner but found the food good, but not great. We were already staying in the hotel and had just arrived the afternoon of our dinner so we opted to eat within the resort but we probably should’ve tried something else for a better meal. For me, I didn’t find the menu appealing but we ordered the mushroom and Parmesan risotto that we found undercooked. Our server assured us that the rice was al-dente and supposed to have a little bite to it but I explained to him that the rice was not al-dente and just undercooked. I’ve had risotto in Italy and the rice was not cooked that way. For the main course, I ordered the pork chop and found it just average and a bit dry but my other half’s wagyu sirloin was delicious. I was also disappointed that they didn’t have the chocolate soufflé that night because that was the one thing I had looked forward to ordering but our server said they can make it if requested 24 hours in advance.

Wonderful service and ambience as expected from the Four Seasons. The food here is amazing. One of the BEST meals we have had in Hawaii. Ordered the Ceviche and Loco Moco for appetizers, lamb chop and fish in ti leave as entrée, finally Halo Halo as dessert. The lamb chop is supreme! The best lamb chop I have had in my life — melted in my mouth! If you are in Maui, book a reservation at sunset for an amazing experience at the Four Seasons.

Holy cow, I just crushed an Opakapaka diced over their seafood risotto! This is not on the menu and a little pricy but your mind will be blown! So good, if you are an Opaka and risotto lover, ask the chef to do it and you will not be disappointed!

Extra ordinary service and delicious food. Everything was delicious! Tomato salad was my favorite followed by the ahi tuna and the deserts were out if this works. Service was spectacular.

The menu here is ambitious… but given the high high prices, the food and eating disappoint. A little less complexity and a little more careful preparation and focus on the principal ingredients(the meat or fish or whatever) not on the complex spices or add ons. Also, it mist be said, the service is poor. The hostess who greeted us acknopwledged we had reservation but blandly said we could not be seated anytime soon, unless we were willing to take a lonely table in the totally empty yet painfully loud(cranking music) bar. Everyone who dines here expects to sit outside on the fabulous patio. As did we. The hostess even acknowledged our reservation was for the patio. But if we wanted to dine anytime within more than an hour, too bad, she didnt seem to care we had a reservation. Maybe it was just us being near that awful empty bar, but no servers paid us any meaningful attention and when servers did stop by they were in a hurry — so many tables needing attention out on the patio, i suppose The final indignity was the check — not a cocktail not a side dish, not a dessert was offered or comped to apologize for our horrible inconvenience — but then again that would have meant apologizing, which literally no one did, not once. If I’m going to spend a fortune, it would be helpful to at least have exquisite food and not be insulted. Too much to ask at this particularly unpleasant Spago.

We are guests at the Four Seasons this week and we ate dinner last night at Spago for my birthday. Ive eaten at Spago Beverly Hills in the past and there’s no comparison. Our table was in a room overlooking the pool and it appeared to be a private dining room that’s occasionally used. The tables were scattered about in odd places and not located under the lights as they should be. There’s no ambiance or décor. It was brightly lit, no flowers or trees, no art work. It felt like we were seated at a time out table. The waiter… Omg He was a blonde guy. Claimed he was a sommelier. False for sure. Every food item that came out of the kitchen he described as «gorgeous». The wine was gorgeous. The crab cake and so on. This lady brings out the ahi cones just as our dinner is about to be served and said«these are compliments of our general manager» Then the table seated next to us she brings out ahi cones to them at the proper time and says«these are compliments from our concierge. We laughed. Basically, they give away what didn’t sell but at least keep the same story! The silverware was another weird thing. They place the fork and knife together on the right side of the table setting. Completely retarded. The main course was less than average. I had the chicken. My partner had the sesame ahi tuna. We were not impressed. It was my birthday so for dessert they brought out cookies which was nice but they were 3 days old at least. I would guess there’s not a current manager running Soago things are so bad. No one ever approached the table to ask about the experience. Lucky they didn’t. We would highly recommend Duo instead of Spago.

This is the best restaurant on Maui! It was an unforgettable meal. I had the mahi mahi Hong Kong style and it was superb. The cocktails are made with fresh ingredients and taste wonderful. We had four different appetizers, and all of them were outstanding. This place has a gorgeous sunset and the staff is so very knowledgeable. Thank you Kari & Jeb! Looking forward to seeing you in May!

It’s been years since I’ve been to this restaurant. I don’t remember it being so awful. The food was mediocre at best. I saw the couple next to me send back their food, as they cut up the gentleman’s steak into little pieces. Who does that!!! I really couldn’t believe that really happened. I’d save my money if I were you and go visit Mama’s fish house or Morimoto’s if you want to spend $$$ on a meal. However the view is amazing, the wine list is good and so is the customer service. Wolfgang needs to come to this restaurant and revive it.

My new favorite restaurant. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere was on point. The food… the food… the food! I had the Honey Lacquered Duck. This also came with two different sauces; carrot-ginger purée & a plum sauce with sautéed mushrooms. It was sweet & savory with a fantastic balance of different flavors. One word to describe(which is hard), Devine. For dessert I had the Baked Haleakala. I highly recommend this unique creation to top off the night.

Beautiful view while we sat outside. We watched the sunset. Ah! Loved the ambience! Service was impeccable. I ordered the«Szechuan style» braised mahi mahi, came with shiitake mushrooms, gingered baby bok choy and jasmine rice. I asked for chopsticks because it didn’t feel right eating Chinese food with a fork. They delivered. However, I wish I had ordered something else instead of «Chinese» food while in Maui… Muh bad.

What a lovely experience we had! I’ve been to most of the other Spago’s and this was my favorite for sure. My bf and I had a table that overlooked the resort and beach on the side, and the ocean in front of us. We had a superb meal and great wine, and our server was so sweet. Everything was great!

Second visit to Spago which is located inside the Four Seasons Hotel in Maui. Our first visit a couple years ago was decidedly underwhelming. We agreed that if we came back to the Four Seasons we would skip Spago. But our plans to go to another restaurant fell though on one of our nights, and so we decided to give Spago a second chance since they were right downstairs from our hotel room. First off, we had better seating this time. It’s amazing how seating can affect your attitude and view of a restaurant. We were on the patio and there was a cool breeze blowing and we had a bit of an ocean view. «Hot Legs» cocktail was good. I don’t enjoy ordering cocktails that have funky names like these. Makes me feel like an idiot. «I’ll have the Hot Legs please.» But the cocktail was good, so not all was lost. Waitress was down-to-earth, approachable and helpful. That’s the kind I like! Sorry not to remember her name! She recommended the following: +SPICYAHIPOKECONES(0⁄5) — Funny thing. Two years ago, on our first visit to Spago, we ordered these and it was not a good experience at all! The fish was slimy and I couldn’t even continue after the first bite. We all remembered that experience, and cautioned ourselves not to make the same mistake. But after reading the new and improved menu, the description of the dish was different. The fish was described as a purée in the cone(which sounds kind of weird to me now after the fact). In any case, we tossed caution to the wind and ended up ordering it. We thought the different treatment of the fish would eliminate the sliminess factor. But in fact, it didn’t. They were *still* slimy! Live and learn. Sometimes you need to get burned twice I guess. +TOMATOSALAD(4⁄5) — Not dazzling, but enjoyable. Tomatoes could be fresher, and more flavorful if I’m being picky(and I am). +WAGYUANGELHAIRBOLOGNESE(5⁄5) — My daughter completely enjoyed this dish and insisted it I give it a 5⁄5. Portion was slightly undersized in my opinion. I tasted it and approved. Sauce was suffering just a wee bit from a salt/sugar imbalance. But again, picky picky. Didn’t recognize the WAGYU-ness of the sauce. Tasted like a Bolognese made with regular beef. +THAIREDCURRYWITHMAHIMAHI(5⁄5) — Winner dish! But again, undersized portion. Served with rice, the tender, white chunks of Mahi Mahi were complimented by the creamy, coconut curry. If you’re in the mood for curry, you cannot go wrong with this dish. +PEANUTBUTTERCOOKIEICECREAMSANDWICHES(5⁄5) — We were introduced to these by finding them on the beachside menu. The cookies were that sandy, gritty kind of texture which was great. The vanilla ice cream inside was the perfect match. We ended up ordering these three times during our stay — twice by the beach, served to us while in our lounge chairs, and then ordered once in the restaurant! After this, our second visit, I think Spago did enough to redeem themselves. I’m pretty sure we will come back next year when we come for the summer.

This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. This is a pretty big restaurant but most guests were out on the patio. We had a nice table with a beautiful view of the sunset. One of the restaurant managers helped us take a picture with the sunset in the back. That is just one example of the really good service we got. We decided to save room for dessert so we just had entrees and no appetizers. They did start us off with a gift from the chef — a really nice tomato and ginger soup. The ginger was there but it did not overpower the tomato. Not spicy but very flavorful. Our entrees did take a bit of time to get to us but they were worth it. I had the Thai Seafood & Pineapple-Coconut Red Curry which was Mahi Mahi, Ono, Kaffir Lime, Thai Basil and Green Papaya Salad. It was so flavorful. A bit too spicy for me but delicious. Luckily I had the Jasmine rice to cool down the heat. Definitely a dish I would love to eat again. My mom had the«Szechuan Style» Braised Mahi Mahi which included Shiitake Mushrooms, Gingered– Baby Bok Choy and Jasmine Rice. My mom really enjoyed her dish. The fish was nicely cooked. We both had dessert. I had the Snicker Tart With Marshmallow Cream. I don’t think it tasted like Snickers but it had a good caramel flavor and cookie crust. My mom had Kona coffee ice cream. Good coffee flavor. We had incredible service. Always filling water glasses. Making sure we were good. Definitely taken care of.

Our two week vacation was all about dinning and relaxing. During our trip we already dined at the amazing Lahaina Grill and Roy’s, so on our final evening on the island, we decided to finish off with the raved about restaurant with amazing views of the sunset. Spago restaurant is located inside the Four Seasons hotel, teaming America’s greatest chef Cameron Lewark with one of the world’s finest hotels. The restaurant offers complimentary valet service, as one would expect. The décor is Asian inspired contemporary design with a layout offering sunset views from almost every table, especially the lanai. The ambiance is sophisticated yet relaxed. Want to romance your loved one, this is the place for it. The staff was extraordinary from all aspects, started with the hotel’s valet cordial welcome, continued with the hostess’ delightful friendly escort and ended with the our waiter’s attentive and personable service. We were sat at the table closest to the water without visual interference of the memorable sunset. It was a breezy evening, so after the sunset we requested a table inside. Without fuss, our waiter moved us and transferred our drinks to the new table. They were very knowledgeable and weren’t hesitant to give recommendations upon request. They were friendly, made us feel comfortable and yet they kept their professionalism intact. The cuisine utilizes Hawaii’s premier produce, fish and meats, with presentation that made Spago famous. I started with a specialty drink, Pavlov’s Dog, made with Tanqueray #10, lemongrass ginger and grapefruit bitters. It was very delicious, the lemongrass took the bite off the bitters. The indulgent followed Pavlov’s theory, sip, enjoy, repeat and order another. Next, I had the Spicy Ahi«Poke» in Sesame-Miso Cones as an appetizer. The presentation was fabulous with the cones delivered in a wooden upright tray. The ahi was puréed giving it an ice cream like texture, garnished with chili aioli, tosa soy, bonito, green onions, tobiko and pickled ginger. They were outstanding with perfect piquancy wrapped in a crunchy sesame-miso cones. For my entrée ahi had the Lahaina Albacore with Ginger-Miso Butter. Again the presentation was artistic and colorful. The Albacore was sliced and seared to perfection with quality and tenderness that didn’t require any sharp utensils. It laid atop wasabi purée garnished with tomato-ogonori relish, cilantro and palm heart salad. I practically licked the plate clean with their delicious fresh bread, suggested by the waiter, as he noticed I was attempting to get every last bit of the sauce with my fork. For dessert we had the Upcountry Banana Cream Pie, which was also a delight. It was very different from a typical cream pie, as it had a consistency of a pie right out from the freezer. A definitely something that should be tried, especially for its uniqueness. In summary, this place will not disappoint, and I would visit Maui just to dine here again. Not many of us have the finances to fly out to Maui just for dinner, including myself, so if already here, make Spago a priority for your special dining experience. Did I mention the amazing sunset views from here!

There’s a few awesome choices in Maui for dining. In two weeks we basically hopped from one restaurant to another. Spago was an easy choice. Known for being a romantic destination for dining. The setting sun on the horizon was priceless. Although I can say the same thing for the food and service. The staff here are well suited for the type of people that visit Spago. Nothing but the best. Spago is a very classy spot. It is inside the Four Seasons Hotel. That should give you a hint on what to look forward to. Pure attention on what you want and how you want it. I started with a cocktail called Hot Legs. It’s one of their cocktails with cool really catchy names. It’s Ocean Vodka, Guava and Lemongrass Ginger. Delicious. $ 17. Our Starter was this Spicy Ahi«Poke“in Sesame. $ 26. This ahi poke was very nice to look at. It came in an edible cone. The ahi poke itself was puréed and the consistency was almost ice cream like. Perfect match to the cone. For my entrée I had the Roasted Local Monchong with Green Thai Curry. $ 45. Ginger, Lemongrass, Thai Basil, Lime Leaf, Wild Ramps, Snow Peas and Baby Carrots. The meat on this fish is so white. Thick and prepared well. Juicy. For Dessert we shared the Upcountry Banana Cream Pie. $ 16. Puff Pastry, Bananas, Crème Brûlée, Crème Fraîche, Whipped Cream and Chocolate Sauce. This is something new to me. Something different I guess owing to the fact that I don’t see the crème brûlée. Although you’ll know it’s there when you try to cut the pie with your spoon to serve yourself, it’s crunchy and cold. It’s different but very good. Lovely surroundings and perfect sunset view. The outside was unsually cold and windy the night we were there. We were moved inside with no problem. The seamless handover to the inside staff was amazing. Come here for the view, service and amazing food.

I really want this to be 5 stars but there were just a few minor issues making it a solid 4.5! Were arrived around 5:45 and were seated outside with a full ocean and sunset view as requested. Our waiter was new but did a good job. Our assistant waiter however was outstanding, some of the best service we have ever had. We started with cocktails which is my first complaint. Yes they are $ 17 which is fine, I am at Spago in Maui. However it must have been about 2 ounces. Look at the picture, I swear I didn’t take a sip! We had the sashimi appetizer which was big eye tuna and hamachi, absolutely delicious. The fish was so fresh it was like butter melting in your mouth. For entrees we ordered the ribeye and«chinios» lamb chops. Both were cooked to perfection. The rib eye had just enough marbling and the lamb chops were very tender and flavorful. Here is my next little complaint, they had 3 options for sides Friday night. All three were vegetables, very strange. No baked potato, no mashed potato, no fries, no lobster mac, nothing… all veggies. They did have several dessert options which always make me happy. We decided on the«Sticky Icky» which is a date cake with ice cream. It was okay, a little dry and nothing spectacular. Overall it was a fantastic dining experience with an incredible view of the ocean and sunset. I will definitely return when back in Maui. ATTNSPAGO: I hope you are reading these reviews. Our assistant waiter Jansen provided us with some of the best service we have ever received in a restaurant. I felt like my best friend or brother was serving me. Warm, friendly but very professional. He needs to be promoted to waiter ASAP.
