Extremely delicious. Went here after our hike and it hit the spot perfectly. Got the hot dog and the grilled cheese.

Porky’s serves delicious pork sausages. The menu is limited but they do a great job at what they do serve. Portions are great and the meat has a wonderful sweet and smokey taste. Also, they take credit card which is always helpful. Great food and great service. I’m a fan. Enjoy!

The hunt was on to find this foodies lunch truck! We found it and it was worth the hunt. Smokie Kalua pig topped with a barbecue sauce, on top of a hot dog!

Aloha in a bun! Seriously the best meal on Kauai! A perfectly toasted bun, a pineapple infused sausage blackened to perfection, sautéed onions, pineapple relish, delicious pulled pork drizzled with sweet and spicy sauce and topped all off with bacon crumbles! Whaaaat?!? As if that’s not enough to make you get in your car and go right now, know that the chef/owner is awesome! Super personable and just a good guy all around. We will be back for sure! Make sure to check in on IG or FB before planning to go, we wanted this to be our last meal before heading to the mainland and we were staying in Kekaha so we planned to stop at the Waimea location but I logged on FB and saw that he was in Lihue the day we left… even better! It was the perfect last meal before boarding the plane!

Delicious lunch post-canyon hike. We had the pork grilled cheese and I enjoyed every bite, it was salty and cheesy and filling… It was perfect with the sweet and spicy sauce that you get on the side. We also had the pork hot dog with the pineapple relish and that was also amazing. Really hit the right notes between sweet and salty, meaty and fruity, saucy and bread-y. Solid lunch, and drinks are included! The sweet and spicy sauce was awesome, totally doable, not that spicy at all.

Tried it on a whim and Justin blew us away. We were the last customers of the day and experimented with our sand which, added an egg to the top. It was amazing! The Pork was so juicy and his sauce is was a great addition! If you find Porkys around the island it’s a must for great food.

Couldn’t believe how many 5 star reviews there were, but they’re all legit. They only have two things on the menu, but man are they good! Best grilled cheese I’ve ever had, with provolone, muenster, and Kailua pork. BBQ sauce it came with was also awesome. Pineapple sausage topped with more Kailua pork was also excellent, our one year old liked it so much he ate like half the dog. Also reasonably priced for Waimea since it’s a food truck just in the middle of a parking lot, but there are some picnic tables and vendors nearby to look at while you eat.

Found Porky’s in Hanapepe, Kauai on a referral from a Kayak tour guide. Great Hot dog with Kahla pork on top with the spicy sauce. Best Dog I’ve had in a long time. If you ever get to Kauai you need to find this food truck, worth the search.

Before coming to Kauai I looked up restaurants to check out and this one kept coming up. Suffice to say we were not disappointed! The menu is super simple but not lacking in flavor. You can either get a hot dog/sausage and with add-ons on top. Or you can a grilled cheese with kalua pork inside which is what my mom and I opted for. Wow it was so delicious! The sandwich was packed with muenster, provolone, and a ton of kalua pork. Your meal also includes a drink for $ 7 which is a great deal. My tip for this place though is to check their Facebook page for exact location because it does move around. Here on Unilocal and elsewhere it only lists the Waimea location. It’s definitely worth tracking down to enjoy!

Some of the tastiest food around. I’ve tried each of their menu items from the beef hot dog to the new burger they got. Their Kalua pork addition is excellent. Portions will leave you happy and satisfied. The sweet sauce isn’t overly sweet and their sweet and spicy sauce has the right amount of kick. Both owners are great and they remembered my wife and I when we came back for a second visit. Also loved the fact that everything is made to order. Prices include a drink with your food choice. Will definitely go back here next time we’re in Waimea. I’m sure by that time they’ll have locations abound on the island.

A unique twist on two yummy types of dogs, traditional with some delish pulled pork and the pineapple stuffed sausage with the pulled pork. Very friendly people — we were at the opening night of the Koloa Plantation Days — it was a madhouse — but they kept their cool and delivered the dogs swiftly and with a smile(kudos to the young man trying to get people’s attention that their dog was up!). The dogs had the right amount of squish when you bit in! A very nice addition to the growing food truck world here in Kauai.

Expertly crafted hot dogs and sausages. The flavor combination with the onions, pineapple slaw and BBQ sauce was perfection. This is a must try when visiting Kauai. We were able to talk with the owner for awhile– it’s so nice to hear he’s living his dream! The food truck has different locations so check with his Twitter @porkyscart to find where’s he’s at for the day.

After our downhill bike tour on the hills of Kauai, we relaxed in our van back to the home base and chatted about places not to miss on the Kauai food scene. Everyone in the van had their own ideas about what Kauai had to offer, and what was worth tracking down and what was just hype. At the passing mention of Puka Dogs, it evoked a howl from the guides with adamant complaining. Apparently there was something better, and they were determined to enlighten us. Just then, we drove by Justin and his Porkys truck, and the howl returned with shouting out the windows, pointing and laughing. After this subsided, they let us know that Justin’s business Porkys was where it was at, and needed to be discovered by us all asap. I immediately jumped on Unilocal and instagram, and made a plan to get my hands on some Porkys. We decided we could find Justin in Hanapepe town, and confirmed with Justin’s schedule posted daily online. We were the first people at the outdoor dining event that night at the Porkys cart, which gave us the first servings, and some awesome time to chat with the Porkys mastermind about his legendary product. Justin was a friendly staple in the area, well liked by locals, and obviously had a following-shown by the line wrapping around the cart virtually immediately after we were served. Choices are limited on customizing your selection, which to me is a blessing since I’m a little on the ADD spectrum. First choosing the dog, then the toppings, and heat of sauce. We eagerly grabbed our glorious creations, and under the watchful eye of Justin, we tore into the prize. Delicious does not describe it. Pulled pork was tender, smoky, and delicate, sauces were well crafted, and dogs were as my husband described it «a dog for every part of your mouth.» As rediculous as that is, I have to agree… spicy or sweet, savory or tropical, fruity or tangy, all topped with that pulled pork, these dogs were as filling as they are delicious, and created by an amazing owner with a vision. There is no way that Justin’s passion for a food beyond what we see in a traditional hot dog could fail. Not only that, but if he were to uproot and take his delicious creations on the road, to the big island, or to California, he would STILL be successful because he has something truly uniquely unforgettable. Congrats to Justin on throwing it behind his heart for food, and creating a culture of food, friends, and flavor.

I came across this food cart at the Hanapepe Art Night and it was awesome. The owner is super nice, talkative, and it’s clear he has a passion for what he does and is happy. If you’re indecisive, don’t worry — there are not that many choices for you to dwell upon. You’ll pick the following: — Beef or Pineapple Pork Sausage — Pineapple Relish and/or Onions — Kalua Pork topping or not — Original(sweet) sauce or spicy sauce I got the the beef hot dog with pineapple relish, kalua pork and the original sauce and it was delicious but I’m pretty sure if I had gotten any other combinations it would have been equally as good. I couldn’t taste the tartness or sweetness of the pineapple relish very much, but it complemented the whole thing without overpowering it. The kalua pork was also great — not salty and not overpowering. The whole thing was just great and it was the first time having a hot dog like this. For $ 7, you get it with water or soda, which is not bad. It’s not the largest hot dog, but it’s enough to leave you satisfied. Highly recommend seeking it out if you’re in Kauai.
