After 4pm this restaurant becomes Rudy’s Mexican Grill. We stopped in around 5:30pm and were the only customers at that time, probably because they just started being open in the evenings again. The owner is super friendly and makes the atmosphere very family like. Now on to the food! The meal started with free chips and salsa, not bad. Then we ordered the sample platter which comes with 1 burrito, 1 quesadilla, 1 taco, and rice and beans. It was a lot of food and very good. The beef was not heavily seasoned but had enough flavor, wasn’t as greasy as I expected and almost like a home cooked meal. We also ordered the Taco Salad which came in its own eatable bowl, I think it was maybe a fried flour tortilla, filled with lettuce, beef, tomato, black olives, and cheese. Then we finished with the Tres Leche Cake, which was OMG delicious. This is a type of sponge cake that is soaked in 3 kinds of milk. So moist and almost creamy in texture. Would definitely order again. We will definitely be back to try more of the Mexican menu.

I would NOT recommend this place!!! Cook was a jerk we could hear him in the back complaining. We were the only people in the whole restaurant and food came out wrong. The server was nice but that was about it. Never come here… You will be disappointed.

It’s 5pm on a Saturday and I find it perplexing that I am sitting in an empty restaurant. Granted, the place did just start offering Mexican-style dinners less than a month ago; it’s worth a stop in, for sure. I ordered the sampler platter and definitely will be taking half of it home. It’s a ton of food! This is primarily a greasy spoon breakfast place, so maybe ordering the meal with chicken instead of beef next time will make for a less messy endeavor. However, the service was great, food came out fast and for $ 10.69(tax was added) for all of this, I am pleased I stopped into Rudy’s. I imagine their breakfast is even better. I will definitely stop in again sometime.

This place is gross. Coffee is bad. Service is so so and I ordered fresh strawberry waffles and I got gross saggy waffles. Do not eat here.

We have been to Rudy’s probably 10 or more times. It’s one of our go to places for breakfast. Normally I really like it as it’s fast not that expensive and the food is good. But my last visit was one that I had to share as it was very disappointing. We each ordered omelettes and decided to try the banana pecan pancakes. The wait time was a little longer then normal but no big deal. They brought our food out including the pancakes and they looked great. So we started eating and the pancakes were delicious I really liked the sweetness of the banana and the sugary pecans, plus the syrup. But… as I was eating I noticed something large and kind of hard to chew. I thought it was a large pecan. But it was not, as I started moving it around and chewing it trying to break it apart. I found that it was not breaking and it began cutting the side of my cheek. When I reached in my mouth to pull out the foreign object and see what it was. To my shock it was a plastic bag clip(I’ll post a picture). I couldn’t believe it, so we waited for the waitress to come check on us. I pointed out what we found and said we’d like to send the pancakes back. The waitress kind of giggled and said«oh my gosh, I’m sorry let me take care of that». So after that we were kind of hesitant about the other food. But we kept eating and they brought us out a brand new plate of pancakes which looked even better. We continued eating it and it was still tasty just we had to kind of eat slowly as I was now concerned what I may find. We finished eating and had to wait for about 10 – 15 mins then finally the waitress came back and we asked for the bill. The waitress who we reported the bag clip to came back. Still kind of laughing about it and said«sorry but we open so many bags of toast and sometimes it’s hard to keep track of them». Umm ok, kind of thought they may be more serious about this as had I swallowed that. I could have choked or cut my throat up. So we grab the bill to go up and pay and to my shock, they still charged us for the pancakes. I didn’t feel like trying to get the head waitress back and argue, as at that point I was so annoyed I just wanted to leave. I really felt as a business one should be more concerned about getting your customers sick and injured. Of course accidents can happen. But to not seem the slightest bit concerned and laugh it off AND to still make us pay. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth(no pun intended). I can’t say when the next time we’ll go back to Rufus. Which is s shame cause we had really liked it.

Classic cafeteria with good food, different choices. Had the eggs rancheros with a salsa on the side, very tasty!

First time here. Nothing particularly special. There’s absolutely no atmosphere in the place, unless you count Fox News Sunday playing on the TV. Wait staff was pleasant and food arrived as ordered. Had a breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon… and no cheese. Who has an egg sandwich with no cheese? Rudy’s does! On plus side… the corned beef hash was homemade, not out of a can. All in all, breakfast was just ok. It is a «pancake house» though, so if I went back I guess I’d order a pancake… which I eat about once a year.

Family run shop. We joked that it was a diner, drive in and dive. Great food, super quick and very friendly owner. We would return if ever back in the area.

I have never been so disappointed in a breakfast in my life. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy which were made with some kind of hotdog type sausage and an oily base. I ordered the chorizo and eggs. I honestly didn’t know you could make chorizo bland. I had such high hopes but the only thing that was great was the loud and happy greeting we got when we walked in the door.

Today, I went to Rudy’s for the third time. The food was good, but the service was not. I was greeted when I walked in & was told to sit anywhere I wanted. I chose a booth by a window. A server came over quickly and asked what I wanted to drink. I asked for coffee. I waited about 10 minutes before somebody else came by and asked if I wanted a drink & said again that I wanted coffee. I waited a few more minutes and the second person finally brought the coffee and asked if I wanted cream. She then disappeared, presumably to get it. The first person came back again and asked if I was ready to order. I ordered the chorizo skillet and again asked for cream. The 2nd person brought it just then. It didn’t take too long for the food to arrive. And when it did, it was still sizzling — like so hot that I couldn’t really eat it yet. But when it finally cooled down enough, it was really good. The cheese that got onto the skillet was starting to get nice and crispy. And the pancakes were also good — a little thick and just very tasty. I ate just a little bit of one as dessert & took the other with the rest of my breakfast home. When it was time to pay, there was a bit of a shock: THEYCHARGEAN «ADMINISTRATIONFEE» FORUSINGCREDITCARDS! When I asked what that was about, at first, the girl said she didn’t know, but then, she pointed to this sign underneath the register where you wouldn’t ordinarily see it. And it had a lot of writing on it, in a relatively small font, so I didn’t stand there & read it all. I told the employee that I was very unhappy about this. I almost went back to the table to reduce the cash tip I’d left by that amount. Granted, it was only 35 cents, but that’s not really the point; patrons should not be penalized for credit card use. That just left a really bad taste in my mouth. So, while I still like the food, the service and additional fee may have soured me on going back in the future.

Food is good, but the service is hit or miss. The thing that killed it for me is the«service fee» they charge if you use a debit card. As a merchant, if you don’t want to pay the fees that credit card companies charge, don’t accept them or raise your prices.

For me not that good. Food was ice cold. Saw it up on the counter for 10 min before it was brought to us. Service was so slow. Sorry always like to support local places but this one is not up to par.

I wanted to like it. Good menu. Seems like the employees are well intentioned. However, the service is nonexistent. We had four different people serve our table. Tons of confusion. They could have used a couple more waitresses. In fact, as I type this the people in the next table over had to tell somebody they already ordered when the girl came to take their order! And the food was oddly cold. It was cooked, but it was cold. Very strange. If it wasn’t cold it would have been quite tasty. I would have totally given the place four stars if they served the food hot and somebody seemed to be responsible for our table. We waited forever for service, waited forever for the food and waited forever for the check. Not good.

The breakfast here is good and their homemade hot sauce is great! Definitely a must try if you like hot sauce with your breakfast. We tried a couple of skillets and the standard eggs, bacon, toast breakfast. All received a thumbs up in terms of good food. Everything was good, nothing but the hot sauce struck me as wow. The three stars are only for the food. The atmosphere leaves much to be desired.

The previous reviews are what kept me from coming but my son asked if we could go so we popped in…“SHUTTHEFRONTDOOR!” were the words that came out of my mouth after the first bite. I ordered the Mexican omelette and asked for hot sauce. The waitress counter-offered their homemade salsa. Are you kidding? I’m in. Then she asked me if I wanted toast or pancakes. Duh, I’m not at Rudy’s toast house. The whole thing was amazing. Pancakes were fluffy and delicious(I didn’t even put syrup on them). The omelette was beyond amazing. My son ordered the mixed berries waffles with whipped cream. The berries were fresh and he kept saying«mmmmm». Thinking he was enjoying his breakfast as well. To top it all off, it was a great family atmosphere. Two of the employee’s kids were there watching tv quietly. Just about everyone that walked in came by to say hi or give them a hug. While we were eating, the owner came by to see how everything was going and he let him know how fantastic it was. He responded with an animated«good! Cha-Ching!». Been there once and will be going back with the whole family(already getting crap from the wife for going without her). It’s our new favorite breakfast place. The place was not packed so I think it’s still a hidden gem. Get there before word gets out and Say hi to the kids before your crazy good breakfast!

I’ve been here twice. Both times I’ve tried something completely different. I had the Belgian waffle the first time which was phenomenal. The second time I got the meat lovers skillet which was just as good. Plus the prices were nice. Two people for $ 20 and we are both stuffed and have leftovers!!!

Rudy’s, I came to you on a morning full of desire, but lost with indecision. You satisfied me and my friends so well we came back the next morning. Yay memorial day! Everything was awesome, between the two days and all in our party we sampled the mexican skillet, irish skill, corn beef hash, eggs this way, eggs that way, the Boston cream and apple walnut french toast, and pancake to name a few things. All I can say is wow; except for hash browns, more on that later. Recently we tried some crepes, caramel banana ones in particular. You HAVE to come here for french toast or crepes. The rest of the breakfest is your quality diner/coney fare. The mexican skillet is a cut above, and not standard issue. The best part is the authentic house made salsa. Super fresh, and perfect on the side to apply to some scrambled eggs. Couple things, they really need to improve their hash browns. I was disappointed on all visits. Soggy potato mush on the inside, dried out brown on the outside. Not brown from being fried well, just from being dried out until tough from sitting grill side on low. I asked for well done on all three visits. No joy. The third visit upon fail I asked kindly if I could get some crispy hash browns as i believe the cooks missed the memo(i saw the waitress ticket where she wrote everything out in flawless handwriting. I got once again mushy inside, completely burned ash tasting outside hash browns. If someone wants crispy or well done, they really need to pull some from the pile onto a hot section with butter and start chopping, tossing, and getting that inner hash brown to cook, or at least spread it out and not leave it ½ inch thick. Also on that note, skillets are pictured and noted with ‘home fries’ but it’s really has browns. That was a let down.
