Typical sushi place — nothing special nothing wrong. The tempera combo was pretty decent for the price. Service took longer than expected.

This is our favorite sushi spot around. A great little gem in Walled Lake. We always order the dragon, rainbow and spider rolls. Delicious! Meticulously prepared and presented sushi. Don’t miss out on the miso soup! Very traditionally decorated and quiet restaurant. They recently acquired the building space next door to them and doubled the size of their restaurant. The restaurant is always clean and quiet with very gracious wait staff. Best sushi outside of Japan!

Maybe it was an off night for Sushi Den? We thought the sushi was average as far as flavor, freshness, presentation, and selection. Service was friendly and attentive.

This is a wonderful family owned restaurant for sushi/Japanese food! You’re greeted when you walk-in and seated fairly quickly. This place is known for it’s online sushi business addition to the restaurant itself. You’ll see a lot of folks picking up sushi to go. Anyway, food is great here. The tempura is fried to perfection with variety of vegetables and shrimp. The grilled squid is one of my favorite dishes and flavor is just the right saltiness. This place has one of the best sushi around. The sushi rice is very key when eating sushi, and the chef prepares it very well. The fish of course is key, too and that all tastes amazing. There’s a roll with tempura bits in it, and it’s really delicious, it’s almost like a surprise when you bite into it! Hands down highly recommended if you’re craving for some good sushi.

I spent $ 53.00 on carryout there last night to find a hair in the sushi when I got home. I live too far away to address it but will never go to this place again or recommend. Very disappointed.

I’ve had a hankering for some nice sushi and as a frequent visitor to the area, happy I stumbled upon this establishment. When my yearning peaks again for such fare, I shall be sure to consider this place if not, just bite the bullet and return. I had noodles with tempura and green onions and enjoyed it. The sushi was fresh and tasteful. I’ll branch out a bit from the yellow tail and risk being more adventurous in a fresh water locked land. Located a bit off the beaten path, but worth the trip. Nice help staff, and other than the occasional fly, it’s pretty clean. Given the choice, I’d likely go back when the sushi hankering returns, without searching for another locale. But then, I feel the need for some nice fried rice! If the rice is nice the rest is best.

Not a sushi fan but I love the shrimp tempura! Shrimp are fresh and the chef is a genuine nice guy. I pick up carry out several times a month from here.

Hidden gem in unexpected area. Not super cheap, but better value than many other popular places.

A hidden gem in Walled Lake. The location is a little inconspicuous in the corner of the plaza at Maple and Pontiac Trail but worth the effort. They have excellent cuisine, much like I have had in Japan during countless trips there. The drive is much shorter than the 13 hour flight to Tokyo! I have been to Sushi Den a few times now and have always had a good meal. Happy that they are open on Sundays! The Norimaki sushi are great, as is the Tempura Udon.

Fantastic sushi. I have eaten in and had carry out multiple times, always made perfectly. The selection of their sushi menu is great, and it is always fresh. The ambiance doesn’t scream luxury, but I’m there for the food not décor! A must try if you’re in the area!

Foods are really toooo salty, and the waiter would not serve you water until you tell them even they see our tea cups are empty. And you need to wait 1 hr to eat your dinner, they spend 1 hr to make the sushi roll and bento box. This place sucks, will never come back again. Don’t recommend to anyone!!!

Don’t ever order carry out on-line! I ordered at 6:30. It was supposed to be ready at 6:50. At 7:00, the order hadn’t even been started and I was told it would take another 15 minutes! The sushi is good but the service is very slow and carry out is a nightmare!

Probably the best Japanese restaurant in Michigan. Compared with Sharaku, it is much more affordable. All the chefs are Japanese. They started serving beer and shochu.

Sushi definitely deserves a 5 star rating but don’t come here if you’re looking for ambience. It has more of a coney island feel to it than an excellent sushi place. We tried several rolls including the california, spicy salmon, spicy crunchy tuna, potato, and avocado roll, all very good and fresh. We also tried a curry rice dish which was great, it was nice to have a cooked dish option to satisfy the taste buds of an 11 month old. Will definitely return!

Again last night, my family had sushi take out. Authentic, Japanese style sushi. Not Chinese or Korean. Reminds me of the small, family run places in Japan, in the neighborhood where I lived in Ibaraki ken, Japan. Bravo! gambate kudos sai!

Excellent food at wallet-friendly prices, in a relaxed, kinda homey atmosphere. The Chicken Katsu is my favorite, and at just $ 8 is an incredibly tasty bargain for so big a portion! The sushi here is top notch as well, and the service is always friendly and attentive. A hidden gem!

This is a small, family run, sushi place tucked away in a large strip mall in the middle of the city of Walled Lake. Believe it or not, but this is a local place or a destination place. You can’t see this place from the road. It’s sandwiched between the former Farmer Jack’s and Blockbuster stores. It’s a small place, with 10 – 12 tables and a sushi bar with 5 – 6 seats. The menu is dominated by sushi and sashimi options, but they also have a page of entrees, mostly noodles and tempura. But we go for the sushi, or more specifically the rolls. There are plenty of options and the food has always been good. We like the fresh water eel and Spicey tuna rolls. Typically there is the chef and one person working the tables, so if it gets busy, things can back up, and sometimes they also get unattentive on refreshing water or tea. But they are friendly and helpful to people struggling what to order.
