I went here for a birthday dinner and everything was delicious. I had multiple courses starting with a complimentary French fry appetizer testing plate and black truffle rolls. I continued with the octopus app and then steak with a side of mushrooms and also brussel sprouts. The mushrooms and brussels were delicious and the steak was very good as well. Not the best I’ve had but still delicious and it was the first time I’ve ever tried wagyu beef. All around a great experience, excellent service and, very fulfilling. Thank you!

It was three of us and we enjoyed the steak tartare and drinks. They have perfect patio with a nice shadow, staff very attentive and knowledgable.

Bourbon steak is DC’s quintessential American steakhouse. Housed in the chic Four Seasons Georgetown, bourbon steak gratifies your carnivorous cravings, and then some. Our meal started with two negronis, complimentary duck fat fries(served with in-house ketchup, garlic aioli, and a bourbon-based barbecue sauce), and complimentary dinner rolls made with truffle butter. Our waiter was a well-trained professional. Thirty minutes and two more negronis later, our steak came. Between the two of us, we shared a 32 oz 60-day dry aged bone-in NY strip with a side of the best cream spinach you’ll find below the Mason-Dixon Line. The steak itself was succulent, flavorful, and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Oh and the crust, the incredible salt crust! This cow did not die in vain. You get what you pay for at bourbon steak, and in our case, it was worth every penny.

Love coming to Bourbon for drinks and small bites with my friends. Typically we’ll just do cocktails, but there is a extensive wine list with plenty of options. For small bites you have to get the duck fat fries. They are literally addictive. I start with a minimum of 2 orders and usually add onto that. The Black Truffle Mac & Cheese is another one of my favorites. The bar burger is great if you’re looking for something a little more substantial than small bites. Since I’m just a young college lad, I don’t usually do the steak and would prefer BLT Steak for a fancy dinner. Great service from the bartenders and if you get to know them they will go out of their way to give you the best service.

As with the hotel itself that this steakhouse is in, Bourbon Steak will not disappoint. The menu is largely an American comfort twist on the traditional steakhouse, ranging from wood-grilled dry aged meats(you can’t go wrong with the 38oz Porterhouse), to Wagyu, to reinvented versions of classic homemade side dishes. With that said, the sides are some of the best items on the menu, so be sure to load up(the Black Truffle Mac & Cheese, Twice Baked Potato, and Seafood Tower are transcendent). This place is as chic as it gets in an already chic neighborhood of DC, so expect quite the scene. Getting a reservation is not overly difficult, but as expected from a world renowned restaurant in Georgetown, it is certainly not cheap. Regardless, Bourbon Steak is a must if you’re in the area and have a little money to throw around.

I came here for my sister’s law school graduation dinner with her boyfriend(third wheeling, whooo), and I had such a fantastic time here that I almost thought it was me who graduated(I wish… sigh). First, the service it top notch. As expected from such a nice fine dining place! This place is upscale, but also has that chic and classy vibe and interior that keeps it fashionable and vibrant. Now, for the food… We were first given complementary duck fat fries. It comes in three cups, all different flavor with a paired sauce on the side– parmesan fries with spicy mayo(?), salt and pepper fries with BBQ sauce, and just classic fries with ketchup. All three were on point, but my favorite is the parmesan! The fries are very very crisp and hot. Our ordered wedge salad came next. It was very good, but that crispy chicken skin and bacon topped on is what makes it really special. I would like a little less dressing next time, though. My mouth was already very salty from the fries at this point. Then, the complementary truffle rolls came rolling in(haha, get the joke?). My goodness… So much food. I was getting full but WOW. These rolls are to die for. So hot and buttery… That hit of truffle embedded in the rolls make it so full of… joy. REALTIPHERE: Seriously… try to pace yourselves here. Food just keeps coming… As our main, we ordered the lobster pot pie, ribeye steak, with the sides of crispy brussels sprouts and truffle mac and cheese. So much food… You know when you get so full, food doesn’t really taste that amazing anymore? Well, this place can defy that phenomena. A chef(I assume) comes out with a literal pot and deconstructs the lobster pot pie for you on the spot. He places the top of the pie in the middle of the large place and starts placing the rest of the ingredients one by one. Finally, pours some sauce over the plate — what this essentially results in is a soft pie crust that has the magical sauce absorbed completely in it. So, so good. It had so much lobster meat, too. Not just the tail. Claws are there, too. We smartly saved some buns to dip it in the sauce and eat. You should, too. the bun + lobster pot pie sauce was to die for. The steak was perfectly cooked. I won’t go much in detail about the steak. It was perfect. There is nothing to really say more. BUTTHOSESIDES… Sides are so flamboyantly amazing on their own. I first questioned how good(or bad) can a mac and cheese go. Noodle and cheese. It’s always good. But, oh man. These are some al dante macaronis with sharp tasting cheese and truffles. Yes, everyone… Mac and cheese can become a five-star worthy dish. Bourbon proved it. I also recommend the crispy brussels sprouts, as well! It was also very very good. Definitely one of the best restaurant I’ve been to. Very happy I got to come here and for a very special day! :D

Treated our Mom to a Mother’s Day dinner. The dining area is sizable with the lighting being a little too dim for my liking. But I understand why it’s done that way. Our waiter was nice, helpful, and informative. The crowd noise was average. The setting superb. The atmosphere just right for that perfect, classy dinner with the family. However, Bourbon Steak is also great for dates, business meetings, and dinner with friends. I’ve also heard that their bar menu is pretty good, as well. For our dinner we ordered: Spring Avocado Salad(they were surprised at the small sizing at first but once done, they liked it), Crispy Brussels Sprouts with Apricots, Black Truffle Mac & Cheese(YUM!), Crab Hushpuppies with Jalapeño and Coriander(YUM!), Black Curry Monkfish with Spicy Lentils, Ginger — Carrot Purée and Cilantro Salad, Duck Fries with three dipping sauces, and finally, Michael’s Lobster Pot Pie. The pie prices at $ 72. Let me tell you it’s worth every seventy-two dollars. Soo goood. Oh, before I forget, our table was also served complimentary Delight Bread that was shaped like cinnamon rolls. Talk about great presentation. Despite the awesome mindfuck, the bread was soft, buttery, and delicious. Full satisfied tummies by the end of the night. I will definitely make my way back there.

Three words: «Business over Burgers» — Bourbon Steak’s burger special, where you get to select one of five burgers and an accompaniment, along with a non-alcoholic beverage and a seasonal ice cream sandwich, all for $ 22. I went with a classic: the oak-fired prime steak burger, served with Cabot cheddar and their secret sauce, and it was simply amazing. The burger is huge, and the flavor of the beef itself is excellent, perfectly juicy(not too little, not too much), and the English-style cheddar(from Vermont!) was top-notch. The fries… what’s not to love about truffle parmesan duck fat fries? They were nice and hot on arrival, as they should be. The interesting part is that, despite the size of the burger, you don’t feel weighed-down afterwards, and that’s a mark of the butcher knowing exactly what they’re doing, finding the perfect balance between fat and lean. The ice cream in the ice cream sandwich was nice and rich, but the sandwich as a whole would have been more manageable if the cookies were a bit softer, but that’s just a personal preference. The setting itself is wonderful — a lovely hotel lounge, comfortable booths, and staff that live up to the Four Seasons’ standards of excellence. I can’t recommend the lounge at Bourbon Steak highly enough for a wonderful lunch in beautiful surroundings… and remember, you don’t actually have to be doing business to have«Business over Burgers»!

My husband says Bourbon Steak deserves 5 stars. Considering how the whole dining experience went, I’m inclined to agree. We made a reservation for our anniversary dinner. According to their webpage, dinner service starts at 6 p.m., so that’s what we booked for our Saturday night dinner. After making the reservation, the restaurant was quick to confirm it with us via an email. On the day of our dinner, they sent another email plus called us 2 hours before our arrival time. Upon arrival, we gave the hostess our name and she wished us a happy anniversary. We were taken to a two top that was spacious and right by the window, giving us a view of the C&O Canal. I thought that was a nice touch, as well as the card that was on our table that said«happy anniversary». Despite their website saying that dinner service started at 6 p.m., we noticed some people there who were already eating. We figured that since the bar was open, that was the reason. One thing I do ding them for — On their webpage, they say that their dress code is «business casual». We, of course adhered to that. However, we did see people there who were in jeans. It’s a pet peeve of mine when restaurants establish a dress code then don’t adhere to it. If they don’t adhere to it, then why bother to even have a dress code? Our server was prompt getting to us. He, too, wished us a happy anniversary. Also, he knew the menu very well and explained the various cuts of steaks. After that, he gave us time to look at the drink menu, which I appreciated. When he came back, I ordered a drink called«conejo loco»(crazy rabbit). This drink has pepper infused mezcal, pomegranate juice and lime juice. This turned out to be a spicy drink, which surprised me as I’ve had other drinks with black pepper in them that barely registered. My husband had a gin and tonic with Tanqueray #10 gin. Before the drinks came, a manager came to our table with a bottle of champagne and filled up the 2 champagne glasses to the halfway point that were already on the table. I’m not a big fan of champagne but I liked this one as it wasn’t overly dry. I wish I caught the name of it. This was a nice touch — a complimentary glass of it. A little while later, a food runner brought us some complimentary fries which consisted of fries prepared 3 different ways — herb fried, standard fries and coated in parmigiana cheese. There were 3 dipping sauces — ketchup, steak sauce and a sriracha based sauce. I particularly liked the herb fries and we both liked the steak sauce. Our server returned to take our orders. We decided to start with an appetizer of Portuguese Octopus which consists of: «artichoke, bagna cauda emulsion, crispy potato». It also had some capers in it. We really enjoyed this dish! The octopus was properly prepared and had a meaty texture to it. We were amazed as to just how small the potatoes were. All the ingredients worked very well together. We were brought some piping hot rolls that resembled Parker House rolls — and they were tasty! Each roll was topped with a bit of salt which enhanced the flavor. For our main course, I had the 8 oz. filet mignon while my husband had a 12 oz. New York Strip. We both got them medium rare. The meat was of excellent quality. My steak had some parts that were rare but that didn’t bother me. We chose 2 sides — one was black truffle mac and cheese, which had a mix of gruyère and cheddar cheese in it. The black truffle portion was almost microscopic in size. While this dish had the consistency and feel of Kraft macaroni and cheese, the flavors were excellent. The two cheeses blended very well together without one overpowering the other. The second side was crispy Brussels sprouts with apricot. The Brussels sprouts had some char to them that was complimented quite well by the apricot, which was a pleasant surprise to us. When the meal was done, we had no room for dessert — we were that full! Even so, the manager brought us a small bowl with caramel popcorn and somehow we managed to eat it — and enjoy it! My husband said that I should mention this — after we paid for our meal, we both went to the bathroom that was in the hotel(Four Seasons) lobby where we discovered that the bathrooms could only handle one at a time. We expected better than that. As you may have guessed, this was not a cheap meal by any means. Before the tip, dinner cost $ 200 + change. As my husband put it, it was money well spent for a splurge of a meal! We are both glad that we gave Bourbon Steak a try.

Easily one of the top steakhouses in the DC area. The service is always on point along with the staff knowledge. It is located inside the Four Seasons hotel so valeting your car is normally the best choice here. Be prepared to spend some money as this place is expensive. When they start out they give you a fries app on the house with some dipping sauces and man is it delicious. I normally get some wine to go with my steak and the server had some good suggestions. For appetizers the beef and the seafood tower are must trys. Filets are usually my go to when it comes to steaks and my other friend got a new york strip. We also order the spinach and truffle mac and cheese. The truffle mac was good but had a little too much truffle oil on it and was slightly overpowering. The spinach was good. Both steaks came out perfectly cooked which is always the biggest thing at steakhouses. We had a birthday and the server brought us out a small dessert to split on the house. Overall great experiences when Ive been here.

With so many steakhouses around, it’s sometimes hard to stand out in the crowd. But Bourbon Steak does a pretty good job being the golden child of steakhouses. It’s a fantastic place for a special celebration, a date, or a night out, even if your wallet hurts afterwards. The dining room is intimate but not library quiet, so you can actually have conversations with your dining partner(s) without feeling shamed by other patrons. The service here is excellent, top notch. Everyone’s very willing to go above and beyond to make your experience the best. After much perusing and debate, we decided on the 18 oz New York strip bone-in, dry aged 35 days, from the Shenandoah Valley, with accompaniments of au poivre, aji verde, and béarnaise. We also ordered black truffle mac and cheese and broccoli as side dishes. They brought out a complimentary trio of duck fat fries with accompanying sauces and truffle rolls to start us off. I almost got full from the fries alone. They were so good. Our dry-aged steak was delicious. Well-cooked and very filling. At $ 64, it is certainly pricey but seeing as their selection of wagyu was even more expensive and not exactly what we wanted, we opted for the dry-aged steak and I think it was a suitable alternative. The side dishes were good too, especially the black truffle mac and cheese. Even though we shared the steak and the side dishes, we were both extremely full and even took some of the mac and cheese home as leftovers. Great food, wonderful service, a perfect setting for dates or business.

So, it’s been a few years since my last visit(2012) but I returned for my birthday dinner here a month ago. I will say this: Bourbon Steak is definitely the spot for celebrations! Everything about this dinner was amazing, particularly the little things they do to make you feel like a special guest. Our table was more toward the middle of the dining room-close to the kitchen which I found was a bit quieter than the other section we passed on the way out. Upon being seated, they had a birthday card waiting at the table. The menus are a little overwhelming — do we go wine or cocktails and then what do we eat?! Sidebar: we were hesitant about ordering cocktails since there are absolutely no prices listed next to them(um, do I want to be surprised and find my cocktail is $ 25? erm…) no… so what do I do? Order the GLASS of wine that costs $ 23. Yes. Whatever. It was my birthday and like I said… gift card. The girls and I ended up getting the wedge to share and then C got the lobster pot pie($ 74), A got the 16oz boneless ribeye($ 68) and I decided why not… I got the 28oz bone-in ribeye($ 92). For sides, we got the truffle mac, sherry glazed mushrooms and the roasted fingerling sweet potatoes. We were surprised when our salad arrived that we were also presented with a gratis order of duck fat fries. Yum. The moment they put the steak in front of me, I waved my hand and asked for a box. HOLYSMOKES that thing was enormous(that’s what she said!)! I kept taking bites and every 10 min or so, my friend would ask if I had even eaten any of it! Ultimately I made 3 meals out of it… so I felt less bad about spending almost $ 100 on one piece of meat. Ha. Of the sides, the weakest(for me) was the sweet potatoes — I wasn’t expecting the marshmallow + cinnamony topping. So I’d pass on those but the mac was solid as well as the mushrooms. Oh can we pause for a minute to discuss the truffle rolls? Good Lord. I need more of those in my life. Of course, none of us were able to finish our meals so we had pretty much everything boxed up to go. They were kind enough to split the sides among our various entrees and then gave us tickets to pick up our leftovers at the host stand when we left — like coat check. I was surprised but appreciated it since there was less of a chance for us to forget food at the table. We were too stuffed for dessert but they were still kind enough to present a dessert for my birthday. It was a chocolate ice cream bar with shortcake crumbs and dehydrated strawberries. Fail on my part; as I blew out the candle, these crumbs flew across the table making a mess. lol. Oh well. Service was stellar throughout — I couldn’t imagine it being any other way. This is not the kind of place I can afford to come often, but when you do decide to throw down the dolla dolla bills, know it will be worth it.

My wife and I have visited almost every steak eatery in southern ca. So when we traveled to DC, my wife found this steak house. We had issues getting a reservation but they said they were basically completely booked. We were able to get a reservation for 5:30pm. We arrived 30 min late but they still honored our reservation and sat us immediately! The waiter was very polite and attentive! Started off with a free sample of French fries which were amazing. We ordered east coast oysters which were also amazing. For dinner, my wife ordered the filet and I ordered the rib eye, with a shared side of creamed spinach. Dinner was absolutely awesome, fast, tasty, and service was excellent. Recommend this to everyone!!! Great place for steak!!!

This past Valentines Day I took my beautiful girlfriend to Bourbon Steak. The whole place was very classy, the staff was helpful and the food was extremely good besides the dessert that one night. As I remember, for appetizers we had Lobster Bisque and a Half-Dozen Oysters with cocktail sauce/slice of lemon on top of a pile of ice. Both were great but the oysters were surprising good. Usually my experience with oysters were bad since they weren’t thoroughly clean and fresh but these were the opposite. Clean to perfection. It was the freshest oysters you can have anywhere from my experience. For the main course we had sea bass with(mussels, shrimp, soup) and the the best and tenderest tenderloin in portion sized. I got to admit that was the best tenderloin steak I had ever had in my life! Kudos to the chef! Lastly down to dessert, we had some sparkling favor sorbet and toasted almond with fruits. It was okay but I expected a lot more from a classy restaurant. Overall the experience was great! Would come back again for another round! Thank you very much for the wonderful dinning experience! You guys did great! Tips: Great for dinners and taking someone special for a special occasion!

Got the wagyu by the oz and it was great. Service was also stupendous, even placed a fork gently on the ground to see how long it would take for them to notice and literally less than 15 seconds a person came by to pick it up along with a new fork. I think they may have seen me, since i wasnt too slick about it. I would make a terrible spy.

Best steak dinner! Kicked off with a yummy trio of fries, each of different seasoning(dill, steak, and cool ranch) and corresponding sauces from the house. As well as fresh, buttery rolls straight from the oven. Most tender cuts — split wagyu rib cap(told by waitress that it is the most flavor upon flavors) and flatiron. Sides of mushroom and cream spinach each had crunchy onion flakes that were a nice touch. Somehow we managed to have room for dessert — chocolate and peanut butter bar. A scrumptious sweet and savory treat to end the meal!

UPDATE **** 2nd trip ***** HAIRINFOOD.(Long blonde single strand) in Rib Eye Oscar style steak on Friday the 15th. The hair was between the cooked steak and heavy sauce on top. My boyfriend was a great sport about it but I didn’t blame my entire party when we lost our appetite. Of course multiple mangers brought complimentary dishes and apologies. I regret I did not get a picture, I was honestly so disgusted I didn’t even think to pick up my phone until the dish was being removed. Sorry my Unilocal friends for missing the pic:( The dinner was great but only because of the fries, bread, and my friends. I have enjoyed my swordfish here but wouldn’t recommend the Atlantic Char. The steak eaters said Eddie Vs has steak quality over Bourbon! We didn’t take anything to go including their second attempt at the food. For 4 of us the bill was around $ 500 once of the Rib eyes were removed due to the hair************** Bummed. We won’t be returning unless it’s for the bar!(I like their drink menu!)

I’m going to let my fellow Unilocalers in on a secret. The best phở I have ever had in a restaurant setting not cooked by an old Vietnamese grandmother or mother. How much for this bowl of greatness? $ 15. The broth is seriously intense and its actually pretty spicy. Just don’t expect your traditional plate setting. And don’t get it with the A5 Grade Waygu. Its an extra $ 35 and you get four very small pieces. Otherwise Bourbon Steak can do no wrong.

Got a chance to visit this yummy joint during a month I was working in DC. The food/service/atmosphere is great. I had a little trouble finding this place at first since it’s located in a hotel, but it wasn’t impossible. All the staff was professional/quick and my whole experience was smooth. I got to try some duck fat fries, the lobster pot pie, and one of their steaks. I like how huge the pot pie was and that they prepare it(deconstruct it) table-side for your enjoyment. I honestly probably wouldn’t get it again but it was worth a try. It’s definitely enough to feed 2 people. The food as well as the cocktails were all on point and the prices were fair for this classy joint. I recommend this spot for a 2nd/3rd date. I love Georgetown.

Not only an experience, but arguably One of the best burgers I’ve ever had in the DC… if not the entire US! Bourbon Steak can be summed up in short as… an «incredible dining experience!» If you want a «happening» steakhouse and you don’t mind treating yourself(or loved ones good), this is your place! I have been to this restaurant twice this week and have nothing but great things to share. On both occasions the service and food has been beyond outstanding. And, one of my most important pet peeves…“consistency”… when it comes to dining out more than once at the same place was by far exceeded. In each visit I noticed, from the arrival to leaving, the staff at Bourbon Steak makes it a point to make sure you are well accommodated. Our server during the last visit, I believe his name was Charles, couldn’t have been more on top of his game. This guy knew my name from the start, preference for seating, time constraint because we were heading to the movies… all before we even sat down! He gathered all of this information from the host. This goes to show how communication is a big part of their interaction… obviously between the host, front-line servers, and undoubtedly the kitchen. I say this because everything we ordered came out fast, with perfect timing and was delicious! During both visits, we tried: * PRIMESTEAKBURGER — The ultimate foodie fixation! This burger, it’s composition, even down to the toppings it’s pure genius. Prime Steak beef patty, Cabot Cloth Cheese, and a secret sauce that will have utter and groan in delight with each bite. My mouth is watering… as I write this review… from just thinking about the burger! The flavors are incredible and the patty itself is oozing juicy and seasoned to perfection. Making a burger this good is a crime! * CRABHUSHPUPPIES — «On the Money!» These little babies were perfectly fried & full of crab, coriander, honey, garlic flavor! A must try. * OYSTERROCKEFELLER– Outstanding presentation. It was a good attempt, but not the best I’ve had. They were a bit under-cooked and not broiled/crispy enough to my liking. * LOBSTERCORNDOGS — The novelty of this dish warrants a try but something you can pass and save your appetite for that prized Burger… or a Steak! * FRIES«3WAYS» — Their signature complementary dish that’s offered on the house. As simple as it sounds, it is an addictive intro to start off with. Garlic Herb, BBQ Seasoned, and Ranch fries are paired with complimenting sauces that will have you asking for more. I know, because we asked for seconds! Sensational food, outstanding service and vibe… all rolled into one. If this is what you are looking for in your next lunch, dinner or special occasion… Bourbon Steak is it! Not only did the food leave an huge impression but service did as well. It was impeccable and truly an experience in itself. I am definitely a fan and will be returning. * PROTIP: Go during lunch and eat at the Bar section. The Prime Steak Burger is offered as a special; it includes the fries 3 ways and a drink for $ 19 bucks… a steal of a deal for this place!

Ambience is superb! We ate in the bar/lounge area and our waitress was horrible(not attentive, not a good listener). We sent three different cocktails back to the bar(mixture/ingredients was off). My favorite steakhouse in DC. Highlights include: the duck fat fries(yum!), the truffle mac and cheese, the filet, the bone-in ribeye, the tuna tartar, and a well priced wine list(by DC standards). Good bar scene. Great people watching. The restaurant is appropriate for work and for special occasions.

For as much as I enjoyed large swaths of my meal(excellent gnocchi; the best rolls on the planet; great fries appetizer and tasty wedge salad), the«steak» in Bourbon Steak was just good and the service, while not bad, was somewhat indifferent given the price point. We had cocktails at the bar(which I thought was longer — we couldn’t grab a seat and were uncomfortable by the crowd smash) which were really, really good. If you can grab a seat, it’s a cool space, if not necessarily accommodating. It’s just hard to get around the fact that the Bison rib-eye, though cooked to perfection, was very mediocre even as we enjoyed the rest of our meal immensely — but it’s the rest of the meal… I know that Bison has a lower fat content, is sweeter and a little tougher than cow, but it wasn’t seasoned particularly well and was quite bland. My wife had a Wagyu New York Strip that was also perfectly prepared but also felt like it should have been luxurious per the price point again. Maybe my expectations were too high but I generally trust anything that gets an aggregate 4 * from fellow Unilocalers and maybe I ordered wrong. But when you are lauded in the way BS is, you just expect to be bowled over. Still, quality place in a nice sedated setting and we saw George Lucas walk by.

We came here Saturday. We were a loud party of 10 people and sat in the private dining room which was truly awesome. The room had its own tv, controlled air, and door. Plus it was just stunning to look at. For an extra $ 150 it’s worth it for a large party. Our server was excellent and so was the rest of the waitstaff. There were no flaws in that. department. My only minor issues were with the food. But first let me preface this by saying that by any normal standard, the food served here is excellent. However when your paying $ 200 per person(like we did) you expect nothing but the best. The appetizers were a mixed bag. We basically ordered all of them on be menu. The grilled octopus was just okay. There were more potatoes on the plate than octopus which was disappointing. The fois gras was decent though and so were the raw oysters. My favorite app was the oyster Rockefeller. But the true highlight was the buttery rolls and French fries they give you for free!!! I would have been happier ordering those as my apps. Dinner was your typical upscale steakhouse in terms of quality. For $ 48 I expected to not have to pay $ 4 for sauce on a 8oz filet. Things like that piss me off to no end. It’s not enough that I’m paying a 500% premium for my meat but I have to pay for sauce too!!! I understand this is upscale but c’mon. The creamed spinach and Mac and cheese were the best sides in my opinion. The diced sweet potatoes were fair. Way too sweet and some pieces were undercooked. The carrots were not to my liking and the mushrooms were just way to thick and chewy. They did put together a nice array of steamed vegetables for my wife to dabble in. The cocktails were overpriced but decent. I wish they could have at least priced them on the menu so I would have know I was paying so much for cocktails. For dessert we had a chocolate cake that we all shared plus some incredible doughnuts It was a nice touch that they put our party’s name on the menu and wrote a nice birthday message on the cake.

This was my first time at Bourbon Steak — we ended up going on Wednesday Nov 18 right before my tonsillectomy. I figured that gorging myself at a top rated steakhouse I’d heard so much about would be a great last meal before I ate mush for a week and I was right. Dinner started off great — amazing selection of cocktails — I had two dirty martinis, the first being their excellent BSGB truffle dirty martini, and then a barrel aged rye manhattan that didn’t disappoint. The pre-appetizers arrived — the fries were really good but the spicy ranch dip was even better, and the salted truffle bread was to die for. We ordered 3 appetizers — the Oysters Rockefeller(amazing), the Ravioli(good) and the tuna tartare prepared tableside — okay, the best part was watching it being prepared. For dinner we split a 35 day dry aged 40 oz Bone in Tomahawk Ribeye. I’m usually hesitant to order steaks at restaurants as it’s really easy to make a perfect steak at home with or without a sous vede, but at a steakhouse of this caliber it’s really the only way to go. The meat was flavorful, but extremely hard to cut — either the steak knives were dull, or the meat was tougher than it should have been for a rib eye — in any case after we few pieces we were done an opted to take the rest home. The reason I gave Bourbon Steak 3 stars instead of 4 was because of the service. While the night started off strong and we received two complimentary appetizers due to the wait on our entrée, waiting almost an hour with no drink service after finishing your appetizers is too long when you’re paying over $ 400 for a two person meal. While the staff was very nice and extremely gracious the whole time we were there, we simply didn’t see enough of them when we needed them. We’d consider coming back in the future — the food was very good — as long as the service and timing on food was more consistent throughout the whole meal.

Very good food and excellent service. Everything we ordered off the menu was excellent. I got the bone in ribeye. It was cooked perfectly. A little fatty but then again every ribeye is. Don’t order it if you don’t like fat in your steak. Probably the best steak I’ve had in DC. I give it four stars instead of five because I’m comparing to steak houses in NYC that I’ve been to. Nothing will beat New York steak so this is the best you’re gonna get in DC.

We came here for our 1 year anniversary(four seasons, get it? :D) We had a reservation, and since it was such a beautiful day, we asked to sit outdoors and they made the change with a smile. They have AMAZING service! Basically every server taking care of us knew it was our anniversary and congratulated us. Food recommendations: Black truffle mac n cheese, Sauteed key west shrimp, Hamachi, Bourbon chocolate bar. I wasn’t impressed with our steak, so I won’t be recommending it. If you’re willing to spend, get the Wagyu! Minus 1 star for the few parties smoking cigars at the restaurant. It smelled so nasty and that’s the last thing I want to smell during my fine dining experience!

In a city where steakhouses rule supreme and competition is fierce, Bourbon Steak consistently delivers on all accounts. Style, service, food are all top tier. For some unknown reason, I always arrive embarrassingly early for my reservations here and find myself figuring out how to kill time before the on-time seatings. I enjoy torturing myself by staring at the menu posted on a wall right outside, deciding whether I should listen to my head or my stomach. On a recent occasion, I tried out the white alba truffles on the Rigatoni Nero. Yea, I went carb crazy — gratis duck fries and truffle rolls, AND pasta? But it was so worth it. The pasta was decadent to begin with. Chanterelles, small cauliflower heads, black pasta, evenly covered with the herb parmesan concoction. This comes to the table on a cart, because the white alba truffle is no common truffle. These truffles get white glove service; they are gently pulled from their resting place in a box, nestled in hay and surrounded by hen eggs, then freshly shaved on top of the dish. So why get a pasta dish at a steakhouse? BECAUSE I CAN. And I’m not going to find white truffles at Olive Garden. No doubt, steaks at Bourbon Steak are amazing. The dry-aged rib eye is great and comes pre sliced, ready for sharing. If you’re looking for something a bit leaner, the Wagyu rib eye filet is less buttery, but still incredibly tender, leaning more towards the filet side of the menu description. The sauces are on point as well and make it easy to switch up the flavors if that’s something you’re into. Their truffle mac and cheese is so incredibly fragrant. On the most recent trip here, the table next to mine was served and when that truffle mac and cheese hit the table, I nearly scooted over and joined their dinner, fork in hand.

What can I say about this place? It’s divine, spectacular, delicious, & wonderful! I have eaten here more than a dozen times and it is incredible. Definitely in my top 5 restaurants in DC. It’s even great to just drop by for a drink! The bar area is super chill. The staff is of 5-star quality. They will take requests for what you would like to watch on the TVs. The bar menu is also delightful. The wagyu hot dog and lobster corndogs are some favorites. I usually get the top sirloin burger. The«star» burger on the menu– it’s always great and you can’t go wrong. Eating in the dining area is spectacular. You can’t go wrong with it, for any occasion. I’ve tried so many things on the menu and every single one has been amazing! They bring out these great truffle bread things too. Don’t know what they’re called but they rock my world. Now that it’s cold out, the fire pits are open and so much fun. I recommend getting the warm buttery rum… My standard go to drinks here are a dirty vodka martini with blue cheese olives(favorite), a glass of red, or I really enjoy this drink they have called a «hairy chest” — it is spicy and it is great. But anyways, as you might have guessed with a Four Seasons restaurant, this place lives up to the hype. I definitely recommend this place. It is well worth it.

Bourbon Steak is the perfect place to really splurge or celebrate a special occasion. I came here recently to celebrate my birthday and I got VIP treatment. The staff is very accommodating of dietary restrictions and super friendly and conversational. They know the menu really well. The sommelier also helped our party of three choose an excellent bottle of Chenin red wine that would go well with steak. They also have a separate menu just for bourbon of course. I started off with chef Michael Mina’s signature tuna tartare and it was excellent. i loved the sesame hint and also the elegant table side preparation. The steaks were prepared perfectly. I also highly recommend the truffle mac n cheese. I wanna cook this mac n cheese. I’d definitely recommend this steakhouse to anyone in DC.

Back in DC, back to Bourbon Steak. I made a reservation via Opentable a couple weeks early and asked for the same table I had before next to the pass so I could watch the chefs(see my photos), and promptly forgot my request. When I showed up they commented«we have a special table for you, Mr. D» — yeah sure, ok. On the way to be seated they asked me about the table I requested and I suddenly remembered. I was getting my favorite spot! The waitress proceeded to call me by name for the entire evening, which was really special. They appreciate their repeat customers. Fries were fantastic as usual. Had a Foie Gras app which was nice and buttery with bread. Highlight was a grass-fed boneless ribeye which is probably the best steak I’ve had in years. It was $ 68, and that’s in the middle of the price range, but who cares it was that good. Great chocolate peanut bar for dessert. All around they nailed everything on this night and I really enjoyed it. One little thing guys — please wipe your plates… one of mine had a half hand print on it that showed up clearly in the dim light of the restaurant :)

This may be one of the best meals I’ve ever experienced. Big-eye tuna rossini with seared foie gras, pommes dauphinoise, and truffles. Washed down with a 12 year old Whistle Pig reserve. Outstanding service and ambiance. The flight of fries as a table appetizer is incredible. Simply a great experience.

I was more than a bit intimidated going to Bourbon Steak. You have to walk through the Four Seasons, and I was a bit worried my ‘comfortable on a 95 degree DC day’ attire wouldn’t be appropriate at the restaurant. It didn’t matter at all. The hosts commiserated about the heat and promptly sat us at a prime table with a beautiful window. The reason for coming was to try the hamburger(perhaps not the best idea in that heat), and it more than lived up to what I had heard: it’s certainly one of then best I’ve ever had and quite possibly the best. The fries aren’t up to the quality of the burger(Le Diplomat’s are better), and the the truffle bread is over-the-top in a not altogether pleasant way. But the burger is why we came. The delicious burger and the extremely kind service ensure a warm place in my mind, and in this review.

WOW! MMMMMM. No wonder people talk this place up. You won’t be disappointed. You’ll leave with your wallet lighter, but you’ll get your money’s worth. I was kind of dreading going because of the price, but I left VERY satisfied. Beef tartare app was great, truffle mac and cheese was delicious, and another standout was their«Hairy Chest» specialty cocktail. Service was excellent, and the ambiance was pretty classy without being stuffy. I like the ambiance a little more than Capital Grille.

Great restaurant!!! I actually went two days in a row while in Washington DC. The first day I went was during the evening and the sun was still up. There was a decent crowd. I tried the Lobster pot pie which was amazing. The server came and prepared the pot pie in front of us which amazed me even more. The service was excellent and off I went. I went back the day after and went a little later in the night with the restaurant being completely packed. Luckily, reservations were made. Even with the heavy crowd, our server managed to provide excellent service with bringing all dishes out in a timely manner and giving great suggestions for drinks. Had a few drinks at the table, then decided to go into the Lounge for more drinks. Bourbon Steak is now open here in the LA area so will be most definitely paying it a visit. Dinner 6÷1÷2013 and 6÷2÷2013

TL;DR: Five stars for service and food and worth every penny. We went to this restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel in Georgetown for a special joint occasion and we were instantly greeted upon a card at our table to congratulate us. Compliments of the chef, we got three different types of duck fat fries that were spiced differently, with three different complementing sauces. We also had bread rolls with truffle oil that came out fresh, hot, and soft. They give you four loaves, and while they were tasty, there were a lot. For appetizers, I got the squash bisque, which was served at the perfect temperature; not too hot, not too cold. The texture was smooth, but the flavor was full. My wife got the yuzu-cured salmon appetizer special with caviar that was well-balanced, refreshing, and light, perfect for an appetizer. Main course, we of course got steaks. They unsurprisingly have a large selection of steaks, including Wagyu, local, and beef from around the country. I got the local, dry-aged 10oz Butcher’s Tender from Virginia and the wife got the 8oz Angus filet mignon. Each steak was cooked to medium rare perfection. We also got roasted Brussels sprouts with smoked honey and Black Truffle Mac and Cheese as sides. The Brussels sprouts were sweet from the honey and very addictive. Ate all of that. The mac and cheese was also very good, but also very heavy. We barely finished half of the mac and cheese because it was so heavy. The portions are quite big, although at $ 11 each, it’s surprisingly a good price to food ratio. The sommelier recommended a 2010 Castello di Bossi Sangiovese Chianti to pair with our steaks and we believed it was a great recommendation. We are a little difficult as I like dry wines but the wife likes fruitier, but not too fruity, red wines. We got a surprise dessert on behalf of the restaurant: passion fruit macaroon topped with gold flakes on top of a type of dark chocolate mousse cake. For our actual dessert, my wife got the chocolate chaud-froid, a sphere made of chocolate with ice cream and chocolate hazelnut cake hidden inside. Hot jelly sauce was poured on top when served, partially melted and opened up the exquisite dessert. I got the root beer float, which reminded me of a kid in an ice cream store. The food was all delectable, and our server Alex was great. All of the staff were knowledgeable in their respective areas, the fries, bread, steak, and wine. Each staff member when s/he comes by, introducing your food, and names the ingredients. There weren’t very many mistakes at all during the entire dinner, and when they did, they made their best efforts to fix it. The ambience has a busy feel, and while you could hear the music clearly from the bar, one could comfortably have a conversation without raising your voice. For a 7:15 dinner on a Friday, there were some tables open on our side, but filled up very quickly. The service, despite the fact that there was a large private reception, did not suffer. Overall, this is a very affordable four dollar sign restaurant within a Four Seasons, with almost a 1:1 price to satisfaction ratio. The service all around is excellent with very knowledgeable staff. While many have raved about Blue Duck Tavern, we felt underwhelmed by the experience there, with staff hanging around without a purpose, and some were unsure even which utensil to provide. At Bourbon Steak, all staff were in an area with a purpose and did not linger longer than necessary. While a little more expensive, we feel that many will have a better time at this laid-back more casual restaurant. The dress code is more lax, too. Don’t pay attention to the dressy attire notation on Unilocal; we gave them a call and stated they allow for jeans and non-collar shirts as long as they’re not ripped jeans and a plain white tee. Dress up if you’d like(we did a bit) but if you’ve been dressed comfortably out for the day, feel confident you won’t feel out of place.
