Avoid going to this place if you don’t want to make yourself sick. The most Honorable place I know in my life. I got burger and fries one day, and it was beyond words can describe it. I throw everything to a trash. Don’t wast your money and time, and save your health.

I went here for lunch once. The burgers are made to order so you will have to wait 5 – 10 minutes while they cook it up. I was fine with this– it tastes better than a burger from nearby McDonalds. I actually got pretty good service. While I was waiting the cashier gave me a free soda. I wouldn’t expect this treatment every time but it was a nice gesture. I would recommend Canyon if you are a fan of a nice messy burger loaded with toppings for a cheap price.

So disappointed. Wasted my lunch hour on this crap. The turkey burger is the worst. The onion rings were burnt, black, tasteless. the regular beef burger was below average but still edible. I took the turkey burger back, it was just too terrible. If you’re dying of starvation, don’t come here, just don’t eat.

It’s really close to courthouse. Their food is decent but takes forever to come out. Bacon cheeseburger was nothing special and basic. They don’t have fancy toppings(lettuce, tomato, and/or onion). Fries is okay. Little tasteless as they fry it without salt to begin with.

There really aren’t a lot of options in this area of town and this venue is okay. The staff are friendly enough but the food is unremarkable. They have several lunch combinations and a good variety of offerings, but as far as quality, I’ve had better. Also, I realize that the other establishments in this food court-esque setting are probably all under the same ownership but there was still a case of identity crisis – my receipt offered me the opportunity to give feedback about Baja Fresh, and the back of it invited me to take a survey about my Subway experience.

The service here takes forever. The food is unremarkable, and I came in with no expectations, other than relatively quick and decent food. Most importantly, I ordered a shake and wow, that was a mistake! Not only was it not any good, but it tasted off. A few sips in, I literally found myself choking on it and almost feeling my throat was closing! It was pretty scary. I stopped drinking immediately and drank water, but it was clear that the shake had somehow severely irritated my throat/esophagus. Not what you’d expect from a milkshake! No more trips here for me, thanks…

I visited the Canyons Burger restaurant at One Judiciary Square in Washington, DC this afternoon for lunch. I was very unhappy with my experience here. I arrived and placed my order at 12:54 pm. I initially ordered the Grilled Salmon Burger and wanted just the sandwich and was told that they do not sell the sandwich separately but only as a meal with fries and a drink. So, I asked if I could exchange the fries for a salad and was told that it would be $ 1.00 more. I placed the order and was given ticket number 73. About 10 minutes go by and they are calling for ticket number 78. I go and inquire about ticket 73 and the woman who took my order told me that it was coming. Understandably, salmon can take a few minutes, so I was patient. By the time they got to number 83, I inquired again with one of the cooks and I said, «I am number 73, is it ready?» He gave me a seriously puzzled look and said, «Soon.» The third time I inquired about my meal they were calling tickets 88 and 89. This time, the person who appears to be the manager, came over and asked me what was wrong and I explained that I had been there close to 20 minutes and had not received my order and that sixteen numbers had been called since. He then informed me that it was going to take 8 – 10 minutes. I told him I was not interested in waiting an additional 8 – 10 minutes and I wanted a refund. He then turned to the cook and said, «Make a salmon burger real quick.» Again, I informed him that I was not going to wait any longer and insisted upon a refund for a meal I had ordered close to 25 minutes prior that they had never even begun preparing. This is not the first time that I have been given poor service at this place, but I wanted to give them another chance. Never again.

I’ve only had the burger, shake, and fries. It definitely is convenient and you can really get a good burger without walking to Chinatown. Priced like any lunch spot downtown.

I’ve been here a couple of times now for lunch, and I can also say that it’s just average as far as the food’s concerned. I usually get the Red Smoke combo; the last time I ordered, I specifically stated«everything EXCEPT tomato». What did I find on my sandwich when I got back to the office? If you said«a tomato slice», you’d win the new car. What irritates me is that the counterperson asked me FOURTIMES what I wanted on my sandwich. If you can’t seem to get it right after 4 times that I tell you, methinks you just might have a comprehension problem. The fries aren’t too bad, but those aren’t real easy to screw up, either. The Red Smoke combo is 10 bucks after tax. That’s kind of a hefty price for food that quite honestly isn’t «all that». I’ll probably keep going because it’s unfortunately convenient to my office, but if there were better options for burgers in the vicinity, I’d so ditch this place in a heartbeat.

I was really excited for this place and was hoping it’d be good. There’s not too many options near their location without going to Chinatown or Union Stations. Unfortunately I’ll be making that trek for the foreseeable future. I went in at lunchtime to get a burger and fries. The line was about 5 – 6 deep and after I placed my order I stood back and waited… and waited… and waited… My very simple order of a Red Smoke(BBQ burger) and fries took exactly 15 minutes from the time of ordering til it was delivered. From the looks of it, the kitchen was in total chaos. No one was on separate stations, people were running around doing 3 different roles. They called my number and didn’t start adding my fries until I was at the counter reminding them that they’d called my number. All that effort for a very average burger means I have no intentions of returning. Had the service been 10 minutes quicker the experience would have been completely different, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

Visit Date: 01.05.2012 To my surprise as a Georgia Tech grad, Canyons started in Georgia, near the Atlanta area. With only 3 listed locations on their site as of this review, I’m assuming this is the 4th ever Canyons. They are making use of the formerly vacant space at One Judiciary Square. I had to try out this place on grand opening day since I also work in the building that it’s housed in, making it convenient for me, and especially since I went to the celebratory event two days prior where they gave out free mini burgers and fries. I had the 180 degree cheeseburger and 50⁄50 fries(regular potato fries paired with either your choice of sweet potato fries or onion rings). The burger was made to order, and was relatively not that greasy compared to similar other burger places. Pretty good burger, but not the best in the DC burger market. The regular fries were of the cut variety with the skins on them.
