Best dive bar in dc. Great ppl that work there. Awesome Jell-O shots. They have all the games on. And to top it off some of the best waiters in dc!

It is what it is — it’s a great dive bar. Cheap prices, good cheap pizza. Fun times.

The waitress named Hope was the epitome of fantastic service. I will come back specifically for her, and she isn’t there when I am, I will be disappointed! In all seriousness, a wonderful staff member that will have me coming back!

Best bar ever! Good food, good drinks, awesome bartenders, 1 $ Jell-O shots. So glad that my friends took me to this place. Probably my favorite bar I’ve been to. Get to know the bartenders and when it’s not too busy you can get them to make you a customized drink. Tell them how strong or how sweet or any kind of particular alcohol you want in it and they’ll make you an awesome drink everytime. I mean literally everytime. The drinks are usually amazing. Easy to drink but strong at the same time and just the right amount of both. Love the potato skins and the cheese fries(I recommend with mozzarella cheese). Price isn’t bad, range all depends on how much you decide to get because everythings so good! Definitely a place to check out.

Cool Dive bar. Nice chill, kinda college-y atmosphere. There’s $ 1 Jell-O shots and cheap beer pitchers. Great prices!

I’ve been living in Adams Morgan and Millie and Al’s has slowly become my group of friends’ go-to bar. At night, it’s always full, but not so crowded that you are being shoved around and sometimes you can even find actual seating. Bartenders are incredibly nice people. Nachos are surprisingly excellent for a place I normally rely on just for drinks. If you actually read up on the history of the place, it’s fascinating — a staple of Adams Morgan, it’s been there since the 70s! The perfect place to meet up with friends as a fun environment– in contrast to the absurd mess happening across the street at Brass Monkey.

Cool, low key place. Hot dog and chips for $ 4.50 and $ 1 jello shots. Bartenders were attentive and offered a refill once you get low. If you are a fan of the Clarendon crowd you probably won’t like this place.

This was my first stop on a night out during a weekend trip to DC. It’s your pretty typical dive bar but with something called $ 1 jello shots. Dangerous. I got a jack and coke to start the night and was served pretty quickly by a friendly bartender. My friend got a typical Stella. I didn’t actually get the $ 1 jello shots, but they sound really cool. The music wasn’t too loud and there were a bunch of strange decorations on the walls that added to the ambiance. I recall seeing a dancing santa toy. Overall it was a fun place to hang out for the night.

I’ve been coming here for years and dammit I love me some Millie & Al’s! It’s the epitome of a dive bar, and a welcome respite from a city brimming with pretentious«upscale» bullshit. This place is no frills(the bathroom doesn’t even have a real door… no kidding), but what it lacks in ambiance it makes up for in good times! They’ve always got specials and it’s just a really fun place to hang out. They’ve got Jello shots($ 1 when the big-ass lightbulb comes on) and some really kick ass pizza. Oh, and Liz. Yup, I love me some Liz. Best bartender ever… she’s such a sweetie! Treat her right and tip her well. This is a great place to kick back, watch a game, or just hang out. I haven’t been in a while because the parking down in Adam’s Morgan SUCKS, but I’m past due for a visit. Meet you there! First round is on me ;)

Spacious bar, with GOOD cheap food, drinks and $ 1JELLOSHOTS! Reminds me of my college days. Ended up here after a failed night at Mellow Mushroom next door. We seated ourselves, and as soon as we sat down a bartender came over to greet us. It was your typical dive bar, with friendly staff and a décor like a fun house. Only thing to beware of is ONE stall for women’s bathroom. On a packed night, I’m sure that’s gross. Otherwise, it’s a cool place to chill in Adams Morgan during the weekday.

One of my favorite dive bars in DC. Sometimes despite calling myself an adults and a lady, I want to reminisce about my college days and go somewhere where the floor is sticky and the beer is cheap. Millie and Al’s is the place! The décor reminds me of a frat house. The walls are covered with strange signs and weird tchotchkes. On a Weekend Night: If you’re fortunate enough to get a booth, don’t examine the seat too closely. But if you are at a booth a server will come around to you and ask you for what you want. You can get cheap beer by the pitcher and every couple of minutes there is a Jello-Shot special. It’s a great place to listen to some classic american music and actually sit and drink. As another reviewer mentioned the place is filled with a younger crowd. In particular during the summer there are tons of interns looking to get hammered. On a Weekday Night: A lot more mellow but still tons of fun. There are some regulars usually sitting at the bar. Overall the place is a great dive bar. I have not tried the food so I can’t really talk to that aspect.

This is a fun dicey kinda sports bar I guess. They have chela drinks many beers on tap and even Jell-O shots. It can get very crowded on the weekends so be warned. Also it’s loud and I lost my voice because I had to talk so loud. Centrally located in the very hip nightlife neighborhood of Adams Morgan. I do like that they play quite a bit of country music. Very young crowd.

Chill bar. Cheap drinks. It’s your standard dive. If you are looking for a chill place with a group of friends, then Millie and Al’s works. M&A has a good amount of tables and space downstairs and a backroom upstairs that is good for private parties or getting a large group together. There are better dives in DC and even better bars worth going to in the area, but if your top choice is too crowded or you are looking for something where you can get a group together then check out Millie and Al’s.

You can’t tell by looking, but this is actually a 4.99 rating — only Dr. Clock’s Nowhere Bar gets the full 5.0(I can’t just give 5 stars to EVERYONE). It’s really great having a neighborhood bar that doesn’t fall under the following categories: 1.) a fake«speakeasy» [“Wow, they don’t have a sign! How are they always packed?!”] 2.) a wine bar starting at $ 13 a glass. 3.) a fake dive bar so yuppies who want to feel edgy can walk in and think«how quaint!» while still shelling out $ 6 – 9 a draft. 4.) a fake dive bar so hipsters who want to feel… whatever, can walk in and think aloud repeatedly: «this place is hilarrrrrious…»

Millie and Al’s is a fun little bar in the middle of Adams Morgan. It definitely caters to a younger crowd looking to get nice off of cheap beer and cocktails but all are allowed, as a table full of seniors seemed to be having just as much fun as everybody else. Place is full of oddities that cover the walls, pay special attention to the giant light bulb and dancing skeleton that announces when it is time for one dollar jello shots. Service was good, staff was friendly and helpful. They appeared to really value their customers. Food was surprisingly good, well at least the pizza I had was, it was small but could satisfy two people not looking to get stuffed but to at least have something in their stomachs. Great place to spend some good times, be it for cheap food, drinks or just to sit and watch a game.

A divey, fratty, wonderful place where memories go to die(what happened last night?) and hangovers find their fuel. Little known fact — Wednesday happy hour here is the BOMB diggity. As in, $ 1 drafts of Miller Lite or High Life. Bomb. Diggity. Pizza is certainly not ideal but in the bang-for-your-buck category this one’s got it nailed down. A Medium Pizza(12″) is available to you at the unbelievable price of $ 6. You can add one topping for $ 1.90, or make the pizza a combo(5 toppings) for a grand total of $ 13.50. It’s enough food for two hungry-but-not-starving people, especially if you’re trying to save room for allllllll of that cheap beer. Come here late at night for a more ridiculous experience, including the famous dollar jello shots when the lightbulb is on. An Adams Morgan landmark not to be missed.

Classic, not classy, Millie & Al’s is a great place to get hammered. Lots of drinks to choose from, including freakin’ jello shots(does this paint a certain picture… Yes it does!), cheap beer, decent staff, and tons of weird schtuff hanging from the ceiling… As long as you know what to expect, this is a good time. I may or may not have spent most of a New Year’s Eve here with some close relations hooking up with local talent. TMI? It’s that kind of bar.

I’ve been going here on and off for almost 7 years. It’s generally been pleasant. That being said, I had an experience this weekend that means I’ll never be coming here again, nor bringing my friends with me. Here goes: I ordered ONE Jamison on the rocks and some Jello shots. I got a bill that seemed abnormally high, so I talked to the bartender. She told me she poured me two. This was patently false, yet she kept insisting. I had the same damn glass in my hand for the whole time, and my friends also backed me up that I only had one drink. She kept on insisting, and then said«should we get the security tapes to review?» knowing full damn well I’m not going to waste my Saturday evening looking at tapes over a 7 dollar drink. She also refused to give me an itemized receipt. I stupidly gave her a tip anyways, but I’ll never be coming back here and won’t be taking any of my friends with me. That lying bartender(or just terrible, take your pick) can stick her Jell-O shots where the sun don’t shine. If you want to spot her, she works in the back and is pretty old(for a bartender, anyways). Don’t rip people off, give them itemized receipts if they want, and don’t alienate your customers of SEVENYEARS because you think making 7 bucks one night isn’t worth. Trust me, it isn’t.

You know any bar that hosts kickball teams is going to be quite divey. So if you’re headed to Millie & Al’s get your swimsuit on cus you’ll be diving deep! Nothing wrong with that, just make sure it’s what you’re looking for. I’ve been here a few times on Thursdays, and it hasn’t been as crowded as many of the other AdMo bars. There was room to move, and karaōke to sing. Plenty of young, drunk people will fill the place, and whenever a good song comes on you’ll hear a chorus of voices jammin’ out. When the toy pirate is dancing, jello shots are only $ 1! whaaaaaaaaa? Plenty of the other beers are cheap as dirt so if you’re looking to totally unwind, this is your place. Go for it. Take the dive!
