I Had no Idea that there Was Chicago Thin crust. Fine and under 5 for slice.

Dude, ordered a pizza for delivery & it sucked. Really bad. 1) The pizza itself was bad: It arrived not very warm with a charred bottom and the ingredients(cheese/sauce) were not very good, just yuck. 2) It took an hour for them to deliver! It was one medium size pizza and I live less than half a mile away. Wouldn’t order from them again.

I am very fond of this pizza, as it is genuine Chicago thin-crust, i.e., midwest-style pizza, which is a thin cracker crust, balanced sauce and cheese, and cut into squares. Only problems have been mentioned: the pizza is a pricey for the quantity and delivery takes forever. I’m not exactly the demographic of drunken jumbo slice eaters, so i won’t speak to that, although I did go get a single slice once at lunch and it was definitely not up to par with their whole pies.

Writing this after waiting an hour and 40 minutes for delivery(I live about five minutes from the restaurant). Do NOT order delivery from Alberto’s.

This is a review of Alberto’s delivery, not the pizza itself. The pizza is pretty good. But delivery has been consistently problematic. I live about ½ a mile from the restaurant, but delivery last night took two hours. Which is at least twice the«average» 45 minutes-1 hour reported on the menu — and, more importantly, way too long to wait for pizza. And there was no apology or explanation when I called to check on the status of the pizza. To add insult to injury, I was charged $ 1.50 for delivery, even though the menu explicitly says«free delivery.» I also have some gripes about pricing. I ordered half-and-half toppings and got charged the full charge for both toppings. That’s their prerogative, but it doesn’t quite seem fair. Nor does calculating tax on the basis of the price including the(surprise) delivery charge.

Albertos is definitely the best pizza in the city. Unfortunately, it’s hampered by terrible delivery and long waits. I’ve never managed to get a delivery in less than 60 – 90 minutes. They tell me they can’t deliver to my place, even though they’ve done it dozens of times. My pizza is typically cold when I get it. But, it’s SOGOOD. Crispy thing crust, amazing sausage, the parmesan cheese sprinkled on top… it’s absolutely delicious. If you’re getting pick up, there’s no problem, and this should be your go-to location. I recommend the Chi-Town. Also, get extra garlic on the pizza. It’s worth it.

Let’s make clear that this is 4 stars for what it is mean to be: Drunken, late night pizza. 4 stars also is in comparison to any other pizza by the slice you can get at 4am. Why would you ever go to Jumbo Slice across the street(the Adams Morgan location) when you can get more options than just plain and pep, a shorter line(and less scary, if I might add), and just overall better pizza for the same price? I mean I know they don’t serve it on 2 plates, but it’s just as large, and you get your own pizza box. Actually, maybe I’ll give it 1 star so the line stays short at 3am. hmmm.

It’s the best late night pizza option on 18th Street. But that doesn’t say much.

This is hands down some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Whenever a friend is in town I always either take them to Alberto’s for a slice or order the Chicago Deep Dish for delivery. The Chicago Deep Dish never disappoints. The only thing you have to worry about when eating here for the first time is that you’ll turn into a pizza snob and won’t want anything else!

Ahhhh, Alberto’s, my go-to staple meal of post-saturday, late night antics. Even when I’m sober, it’s still just as delicious. Wonderfully thin crust — perfectly crunchy at the ends, like how it should be and with a great smattering of toppings. Sausage and pepperoni is my absolute favourite here, but on nights when I’m feeling it — the good old cheese slice really hits the spot. Plus the slices are massive, and one ¼ pie piece(pies are 18 inches, and the ¼ pie is the standard slice size) is the perfect serving size for lunch, a late night snack, or dinner(when I’m being really, really lazy). Good on its own, but even better with all the little additions like oregano, parmesan, garlic powder and chili flakes. Alberto’s is definitely the place to go when you want a good slice of pizza.

Alberto’s is my go-to when 1.) I don’t want to make dinner 2.) neither does the fiancé and 3.) we may or may not be inebriated(emphasis on the«may»). Things to note: this location is open irregularly. As in, I live a few blocks from it and walk by it more than I like to admit but I have no clue about their schedule. They are definitely open Thurs-Saturday thanks to the throngs of drunk interns but outside of that is anyone’s guess. Anyways — the goods. The pizza is thin crust and slices are huge. I can eat half of one and save it for lunch the next day. Or who are we kidding — eat it for breakfast. The ham and pineapple is my absolute favorite, and I love the instant gratification of walking in and walking out a minute later with hot pizza. However don’t even bother ordering delivery, from this or the one in Dupont! Nothing but frustration and empty stomachs will result from this action! Every time I’ve ever ordered pizza it’s been horribly late — think an hour plus ONTOP of the hour wait time they initially tell you. And one time I ordered from Dupont and wanted it delivered three blocks away. It took two hours! I could have — should have — walked those blocks and picked it up myself. You’ve been warned.

After quite an eventful evening, my friends and I decided that what we really needed at 4:00 in the morning, was an omelet, some hash browns, maybe some pancakes. No, no — we didn’t crave sleep. Or anything else some single twenty-somethings might want at 4am. All we needed for euphoric, satisfaction that night, was breakfast. I guess hanging around so many bamas at Ozio really works up a girl’s appetite! We head to The Diner in Adam’s Morgan, but there is a 20 min wait at 4:00am?! We were not having that so pizza would have to do. Time to cross the street to Alberto’s for some cheesy goodness! At first sight, I was so underwhelmed and disappointed by the look of this pizza. It looked depressed and malnourished — thin, colorless crust, and scarcely topped. I head back over to The Diner to double-check on that wait time. When I come back to Alberto’s where I had left some friends, I realized that they had gone ahead and ordered a large pepperoni pizza. My friend pays for the pizza, we jump in the car and everyone immediately goes to work on the pizza. I dug in and was shocked, amazed and pleasantly surprised how frickin’ delicious this pizza was! What the heck?! The crust was crisp and the seasonings on the pizza really had a kick! Everyone in the car was impressed as well as evidenced by their moans of delight. Not the action some may be looking for, but on that night it was just what we needed to satisfy us!

It’s more than just heaven in pizza form. Forget Jumbo Slice. When you’re stumbling out of that bar in Adams Morgan, head towards Alberto’s. The topping choices are tastier and there isn’t a pool of grease flooding the top of your pizza.

There aren’t many good places to order pizza from in DC when you want it delivered. Pizza Hut is unacceptable. 2 Amy’s is the best, followed by Red Rocks, but they don’t deliver. Alberto’s is expensive but they have a good variety of gourmet toppings and different flavor doughs(i like garlic). You can get deep dish or thin crust. The other pizza places on 18th Street are just gross — Pizza Mart and the other jumbo slice sources. Don’t bother. Alberto’s is reliable and I’ve never had a delivery problem.

Eating in and take-out is ok, but don’t order delivery, unless you want your food 3 hours later! We were at a party in Columbia Heights. People got hungry and wanted pizza. I threw out that Alberto’s has pretty good pizza so we called for 3 pizzas. An hour later, no pizza, we called and were told that the guy’s 5 minutes away. Half an hour later, still no pizza guy, called again and were told that this time the delivery guy’s REALLY almost there. Another half hour went by, people were starving and started to eat the appetizers they had previously stopped eating to save room for pizza. Not a good sign, got the same answer when called again so we told them that they better not charge us full price when the pizzas finally get here. Finally almost 3 hours later, the delivery guy made it to the house. We could’ve walked to Adam’s Morgan and back 5 times in that time! And it wasn’t like we ordered specialty pizzas, we ordered cheese, pepperoni and veggie. We only paid half of what we were supposed to and the pizzas were at least still decent. But it definitely wasn’t worth the 3-hour wait.

When I’m in Adam’s Morgan, the night is winding down, and I’m hankering for some good drunk pizza, I usually skip the neon siren song that is Jumbo Slice and head to Alberto’s. It’s certainly less crowded than JS and in my opinion, the pizza is a lot better. It’s not like the massive novelty-size slice; don’t get me wrong, the slices are huge, but they’re not really huge for the sake of being huge like JS pizza is. Plus, it’s a lot less greasy! Best of all, they have great topping options. Instead of JS where it’s pretty much either pepperoni or cheese, Alberto’s has a variety of toppings to satisfy any craving. The people who work there are also pretty nice, which is nothing short of a miracle for serving blackout drunk people a couple hours every night. Kudos!

This place has incredible BIG slices with really cool toppings. Last time I went I got one slice with artichokes, mushrooms and spinach and it was very tasty and one slice is enough for one person and it was not like pizza soup, like some other places. I have not gotten an entire pizza just a slice on the go and I can’t wait to go back. I think it is open super duper late too:)

I’m a pizza connoisseur. This place is obviously good for inexpensive slices when drunk. However, living in AM, I wanted a close pizza place for either pick-up or delivery. Alberto’s delivered in every sense of the word. You can customize crusts. I really enjoy the honey wheat, but use discretion here, select this type with sweet-ingredient pizzas. If you want something that your palate will love, I suggest the chicken pesto — real pesto sauce! If you like pizza/Alberto’s, I would also recommend 2 Amys on Wisconsin. Bön Apetit!

I’d also give this place 3.5 stars(if that were possible). Definitely above-average pizza, but it’s nothing special. If you’re looking for cheap food to grab and go, you could do worse. I was confused that this place says it serves«Chicago Pizza» but the pizza has a thin crust. Oh well. That said, the crust on my slice was quite good. The cheese and toppings — just average.

I was pumped to stumble across this place in my neighborhood recently. Nobody in their right mind — and by that I mean not totally plastered — would eat pizza in Adams Morgan. But this place leaves an option for those of us who live in the neighborhood and don’t just stumble in to tie one on and puke in the gutter. It’s a huge slice, a good crispy thin crust and interesting toppings. The prices aren’t bad although they go up considerably with the fancier toppings. And the nicest thing is, the really drunk people still flock to Jumbo Slice and don’t come in here so you can even get a slice after a night out on the weekend.
