There’s always something good(and good for you!) at Pret. I’m trying to keep my fast food consumption to a minimum, and Pret offers a lot of fresh and delicious options with lots of healthy and flavorful ingredients. My go-to sandwich used to be the falafel wrap, but my new favorite is definitely the Waldorf chicken wrap. It’s chicken salad, sliced apples, walnuts, tarragon(?) and fresh mint. Such a good wrap! I also like that the calories of each item are clearly posted on the display, so you know what you’re getting. There are also small and snack sized treats(trail mixes, chocolate candies, mini brownies) at the counter for those of us who are minding our waistlines, but still have an insatiable sweet tooth! Who says you can’t have it all? During breakfast, and again at lunch, this place gets PACKED! The lines look like they are giving stuff away, and you’ll barely be able to push your way through the crowds to get to the display cases. You may also want to bring cash: I was once told by a cashier that they«were not accepting credit cards» when I went to make my purchase. I asked if the credit card machine was broken; she said«no».(huh?!) I was in a hurry and I had no time to probe for further details, but I thought that was really strange.

My friend and I needed to kill some time while our group was in the Capitol, so we walked over to Pret and had delicious coffee. The place was really relaxing and enjoyable! We hung out upstairs and had a great time!

Great café to stop at if you are on the go. They were really quick with my Hazelnut Latte(also the latte had a cute little heart designed on the foam). The sandwiches were fresh and the Honey Tangerine juice was delicious(100% juice by the way) and was in a really cute small bottle!

Since I work near Union Station I have had the opportunity to try most of the food vendors there; this is consistently excellent if a bit pricey. However, the very high quality of the food does justify the cost, in my opinion. I try to avoid carbs and have been very happy with the chicken and avocado salad, the edamame and chicken pot, the gazpacho, and the cold spicy shrimp wrap. The latter has the ingredients of a classic Thai summer roll but uses a flour tortilla wrap instead of rice noodle; I open it up and eat it with a knife and fork. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

Slim chicken and bacon sandwich, blueberry greek yogurt pot, and a water. This is my usual, and it is so, so good. The pine nuts in the yogurt are what really make it! It’s a little on the pricey side, but the food is so fresh, natural and they list out all the calorie counts so you can make a healthy choice. I’m always here on business so the price doesn’t bother me too much, but I’d pay it even if I weren’t. It’s become my weekly lunchtime jam in Union Station! Once I got a white bean and sausage soup. There were no beans. The broth and sausage were tasty though! I stick with the sandwich and yogurt usually.

I was about to grab a megabus to NYC and wanted something quick, healthy, and reasonably priced-Pret to the rescue! I was able to grab some oatmeal and a wrap for later. They were both great, healthy and organic. I definitely liked it and will be back. They have a great selection of food and the prices are great.

1st visit & I’m hooked! Pass it up all the time but not anymore. Slim chicken Caesar & bacon soooo delish I want more!(mini sandwich on a hero) The mini lemonade is out of this world. The prices are union station prices… I’m sure we know how that turns out. Great snack for me though!

This place is a grab and go fast food with all the daily fixins. This place boasts of good quality coffees, lattes, ice or cold it’s no Starbucks! You can really tastes the difference. There’s also oven shelves to get hot foods such as the bacon egg wrap that I just had and so many other choices of cold and hot sandwiches as well as beverages. This place is conveniently located by the union station. Food they serve here they say is organic, which I think is a bonus

I was checking out Au Bön Pain in Union Station, but they don’t really have much that’s vegan. I’ve never heard of Pret A Manger, which was right across the hall, so I figured I’d see if they had anything vegan(though I want holding my breath). To my surprise, they had several vegan options(specifically marked vegan, too!), including sandwiches and wraps. I couldn’t decide between the Nori Veggie Wrap and one of their avocado sandwiches, and since I wanted to ensure I wouldn’t be hungry on the train, I ended up getting both. I tried the nori wrap first, and it was good. It has avocado, quinoa, lettuce, red peppers, and was wrapped in a Tortilla that was itself wrapped in nori. The nori was kind of tough, and the wrap as a whole lacked a punch of flavor, but it got the job done, and I appreciate the creativity and willingness to cater to the vegan crowd.

What a great place for grab and go items in Union Station! I stopped by today, before the madness of the National Cherry Blossom Festival.(Yes, I know, I’m crazy.) Boyfriend and I grabbed 3 different sandwiches(they have half sizes so you can mix/match!), popcorn, juice, and coffee. Their sandwiches are delicious, healthy, and not too heavy. My favorite was the California(turkey, avocado, egg, spinach, and house sauce… yum). I can see this being a great place to grab items before hopping on the Amtrak/MARC or bite on the run. The price is just right, and all of their items travel well. I would totally give 5 stars if every item was consistently in stock(unfortunately, not everything is available all the time).

I love the food options. If you want a place to visit, you can grab food here and take it downstairs. There are lots of tables in the food court.

Surprisingly a good variety of breakfast and snack items. Their croissant is mouthwateringly flaky goodness and super buttery rich as it should be. Good to the last crumb! They sell organic coffee — a serious plus in my book. Thanks pret for managing to stay Eco-conscientious in the hubbub of DC.

A pleasant surprise! I popped over to grab something quick to nosh on after stopping at the post office downstairs. Did you guys know that they donate all their leftover sandwiches to charity at the end of the day? How amazing is that? Everyone who works there seems super nice and helpful. I wish they offered a gluten free option for sandwiches! I’d be sure to eat there more often if they did.

Always consistently good food. My co-worker Ioves their salads. To quote her: «good portions and always fresh ingredients. A safe bet if you do not know where else to go.» They have many locations in NYC so I was thrilled to see that the Union Station has a location, just like at home. My faves are the coffee, cheese sandwiches, and shrimp wrap. Healthy and tasty. I love their motto on the napkins: «made today, gone today. Every night we give our food to the hungry rather than selling it the next day». There are many people who cannot afford a meal so bravo to Pret for doing their part to help others. A great London import that I hope spreads to more cities in the States!

Two words: California Club(turkey, avocado, tomato, egg, lettuce and pesto) sandwich. They also have it available in a half-sandwich. Absolutely delicious. I could eat these every day. This place is lovely: fresh, healthy foods(compared to its neighbor, Au Bön Pain, which is a little tired); very nice, helpful staff. I love stopping here on my way to work. By the way, when I give a commuter stop like this four stars I am ranking it based on the competition at Union Station. Pret A Manger is not a sit-down restaurant but, in its league, it is very good!

Quite possibly the nicest place in this hell hole, and that isn’t saying much. With a variety of interesting salads and sandwiches and fun drinks to choose from(sparkling ginger beer!) it’s really hard to go wrong here. Still, it doesn’t take away from the fact that we are in a sad little train station. This is my view.

Very veg friendly«grab-n-go» place at the Union Station with fresh and tasty sandwiches, salads, and fruit cups. Though the prices are inline with other good establishments at Union Station, they strike you as high for some of the items, especially small salads, fruit cups, and their warm sandwiches. What I like the most about them is that they vary their selections and the checkout is very friendly and lightening quick; exactly what you want at a train station. If you are keeping an eye on salt, some of their sandwiches(I only tried the veggie options) can be salty. Go with salads or cold sandwiches instead. It bothered me a bit that they have not made the nutritional information on their items easily available. Well I guess it’s on their website…

Great sandwiches, always fresh, keeping it simple. Totally reminds of all the sandwiches in England. They are high quality too. Always such great combinations, too. It’s a little pricey, but it’s an upmarket joint, so nobody can be surprised by that. Yesterday I had their Chicken and Avocado sandwich… solid.

Blitzkrieg fast and tasty to-go food in Union Station, this is my go-to lunch place. It’s not that I’m in such a hurry at noon, but it’s a real treat how easy it is to get food from here, always a smile at checkout and no hassle at all. Pret a Manger offers cold and hot sammiches with veg or animal protein, large and small soups in containers ready do go, large and small salads, whatever you want. Uh, unless you want to custom order, that only works for coffee. Pick what you want from the hot or cold rack and don’t forget to grab a free roll. Vegetarian rating: 4 stars, there are cold veg wraps, hot veg sandwiches, veg soup and veg salad. I’m especially a fan of the little quinoa cup, topped generously with egg, avocado and greens. Not cheap at $ 4 but yummy. The Pret checkout has about 8 people ready to take your money. To-go only, no tables and chairs here.
