Wayne is a very quaint town nestled in the posh suburbs of Philly. I would suggest to anyone to check it out and when in town… Avoid the Great American Pub. What makes this place the ‘not so great’ American pub is just about everything. Uninspired food covers the entire menu served by a lazy uninspired wait staff. Wings are average, salads and mediocre and what else say… At least the beer is cold.

Best bar in the western suburbs Great bar food Best place for live music on Friday nights The Windows and doors open to let the weather in and it can be a great time in the spring and fall The town government puts a big damper on the outdoor enjoyment since a local curmudgeon took the Pub to court and some bleep bleeping judge sided with the curmudgeon Who rents an apartment in a commercial district of a town and then decided to prosecute a pub for noise violations? So now this creep gets paid to walk in every night at 11 and close up or tell the staff to close up all windows as a condition of the judge’s rulings You can’t make this stuff up

Good service, very blah food for the price. Of the five meals our group ordered, only one was satisfied. I haven’t eaten here in a very long time, figured I’d give it a try again… mistake coming here. Oh, and the draft beer selection is very mediocre. This is an average place at best. Many more better options in Wayne.

Came here on a Sunday with a group whilst in the area for beers and lunch. The front section of the bar was crowded but we were able to get a booth towards the back. I ordered the sesame chicken salad which was a generous size and flavorful. My husband had the French onion soup and the crab cake sandwich he really enjoyed. Our friend also liked their meals. This place is just a solid last minute decision kind of place, especially if you’re with any picky eaters, as the menu is large and offers plenty of American standards like burgers and fries.

This place is going down hill fast. I used to love coming here when I’d come back to town. The food is just alright. Nothing to write home about, just your average bar food. The service is horrible unless you like getting attitude from everyone who works here. All of the girls act like they don’t want to help you. If you don’t like interacting with people don’t work in the service industry. The bartender has the rudest girl I’ve interacted with in a very long time. I don’t know how this place stays in business. Can’t say I’ll be back anytime soon.

I have never in memory been so consistently ignored by the waitstaff as I was here today.

Went to Great American Pub in Wayne today with my two guests. We were seated in the booth closest to the men’s room. I wanted to slide the tabletop closer to my guests, so I grasped the top to push it forward and WOW, plenty of gum pressed underneath the tabletop ! How disgusting ! I mean what would it take to run a paint scrapper under those tops !? Even once a week would be helpful. John Ricciutti Villanova

Disappointment. Food was overpriced and poorly prepared. The service was mediocre. The environment outside was the only pro, which isn’t really the restaurant’s doing. I had«asian lettuce wraps» on the dinner special menu — aka lettuce, pasta, about 8 small strings of carrot and some peanuts all placed separately on a plate and drenched in soy. Impossible to wrap as it was a mess. It turned into a crap salad. The other party had the drunken shrimp — of which there were 2 shrimp total(not an exaggeration) and about a half a pound of bacon… ? Waste of money and time. Thanks for ruining the night.

I went here thrice. I have had better drinks and much better experience in other places. I once had long island ice tea which was crappy by any standards. Poor service and the other women working there wouldn’t wanna help me find the person serving. Very very poor customer service. wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Excellent lunch today! Margarita flat bread was excellent. Wife had the veggie burger with extra veggies on top, fresh roll. Mom had eggplant parm, she loved it. Dad had salmon paillard he enjoyed as well. Pretty awesome meal for good affordable price!

If it weren’t for the large outside patio I bet this place would have been out of business a long time ago. Food varies from bad to mediocre, the beer list is unimpressive, and service can typically be described as ‘gruff’ at best. On top of that, the dollar amount on the bill at the end always surprises me. I don’t know what it is about outside seating in the nice weather that somehow still draws me back to this place once in a while, but I could never recommend it for its food or drink list.

I’m not sure why this place has so many bad reviews. I am giving it 5 starts in hopes of raising their average a bit, although it probably deserves 4! There is a major lack of outdoor seating places on the main line, which is what brought my friends and I to the pub in Wayne. The outdoor deck area is very nice and much better than other close by spots. I like how its on the corner but its not too busy of an intersection, unlike some places right on Lancaster and not as isolated as say Gulliftys. The food is pretty good but not record breaking. Everything we ordered was tasty. However, the burger did not come with fries or chips which was a little disappointing. The beers and drinks were tasty but a bit pricey. The service was OKAY, a bit slow, but they were busy, and we didn’t mind because we like to chat. I will be back! This is a good staple.

Quick lunch with the wife. Had a Cesar’s salad with a decent piece of salmon one shrimp and one scallop. It was however amazing. Wife: caprese panini with fresh motz and basil. Very very good. Service. Meh… Not busy either. Just slow inattentive service. Waitress walked by the table a few times before I hd to ask for a refill on my drink. I will come back again for the food however

It’s a pub! How can you go wrong with a pub? Sure, it’s no haute cuisine, but what are you gonna do? Hubby and I came here on a Saturday night and sat outside. Staff was really friendly and helpful when we asked for another table that was a little less dark. We had the cheese steak spring rolls. I thought it was a really creative way to mix two totally different dishes. Definitely nice as a snack. Then I ordered the meat lovers pizza, which was really tasty! All I’m thinking is they should serve it on a normal plate instead of a cake platform lol. My husband had a burger and fries, which I believe was just OK as he didn’t know that bacon etc. was an add-on. Overall, nothing wrong with it. There was live music going on, and it was just what we needed for the night.

True to some of the other reviews, this place needs a desperate kick in the ass. For starters, it IS freezing in there. I didn’t take off my jacket the entire time. Two — Way effing overpriced. C’mon people — it’s bar food!?! 2 burgers and mozzarella sticks should never cost you $ 50. Three. Service was TERRIBLE. Our waitress was a sloppy, lazy mess, we were the only table in there and it was 3:30pm on a Friday. Now, I’m in no place to judge, but for heaven’s sake at least take OFF your makeup from last night. Half the things we ordered, side of ranch, side of mayo etc., never made it to the table. Thirst was a big issue that day, I remember as my water was empty 70 percent of the time. When she brought out our dinner to us and hubby’s coke was empty, she said, «Do you want another one of these?» Hmmm, would that be weird? «No sorry, you’ll ruin my attempts to choke myself during feasting time.» YES, biatch refill that shit! E. Not to mention, we sat inconveniently next to the waitress station and got an earful of all gossip going on there as night shift rolled in. And how someone’s kid was getting new cheerleading bags, maybe? I can’t be sure but all I know is if I heard the words, «sequin» «cheetah» or «like, omg, soooo cute» one more time I may have rah-rahed someone’s face into the napkin pile. 27.) You have to pay to park, at a meter, if you’re lucky to find a spot. Last but not least, it took FOREVER to pay. Like she walked off and legit forgot about us. The only reason I give it two stars and not one is because they actually make their own veggie burger patty there. Props for not going easy on the frozen GMO crap.

Update: From 4 stars to 1, the service here seems to decline as the years go on. There’s plenty of other options in the area, so dealing with the inattentive staff isn’t justifiable anymore. Good food, kind of pricey. You will freeze to death during the winter as well. They don’t seem to be big fans of that whole HVAC thing.

Atmosphere = excellent Food = OK Service = Bad. Ate at bar and worst bartender ever. This is one of those places you will see on a future episode of Restaurant Impossible. Good luck.

These guys have 2 locations, Main Line(Wayne) opposite the railroad station and the other in Conshocken. Both places have friendly and quick service. Décor is heavy on dark stained wood and brass, leather banquettes — definitely not trendy, but well done. I’ve eaten at both countless times, and the food is always solid — but never memorable. This is a big drinking establishment. how many times can everyone say, «ok, just one more please». Yesterday, in Wayne, the spring weather was sublime. The large awning covered patio was bustling, and the French doors/windows open wide. Even sitting inside, the people watching alone is great. All ages, but most folks well dressed with a heavy emphasis on Preppy. I’m convinced, watching the cars roll by — the Main Line must have the highest concentration of BMW/Mercedes/Land Rover registrations in the US. If your from out of town, and want to experience a nice suburban downtown vibe, this place is a solid pic.

I stopped at the Great American Pub in Wayne with my partners after reffing a lacrosse game at a college nearby. The bar is nice inside and there are plenty of TV’s. There is a good amount of seating at both the bar and in the restaurant area. We only drank, so I can’t comment on the food. They have a good selection of beers on tap and the prices are reasonable. There isn’t much parking and the meter attendants seemed like jerks, nailing people with tickets at 5:50pm on a Saturday when the meters cut off at 6. All in all I wouldn’t not go back, but I’d definitely go to the Great American Pub in Conshy before this one if given the option.

Last I was here, I lunched outside(earned a nice tan), and snacked on a Meat Lovers brick oven pizza — that’s pepperoni, chopped meatballs, ham, tomato sauce and cheese($ 11). It didn’t shatter my mind, and it was large enough that I had leftovers. Friendly Esther got me jalapenos, too! Pizza options are strangely limited. Even the creative ones are meat-heavy: they offer tomato pie, Margherita(tomato sauce with three cheeses), baby spinach and cheese, vegetarian, BBQ chicken(roasted chicken with BBQ sauce, peppers, onions, pine nuts(!), various cheeses), and cheesesteak(beef or chicken). I don’t know about you, but I’d love a vegetable and meat combo. I guess I could’ve made a special request, but we all know how much kitchens typically like special requests. Good spot to enjoy a drink. Decent place to eat.
