Great bar. Great people. Great Atmosphere. I love this place on a friday night with a live band. The cover can get quite expensive!

This is a fun little place to visit next to one of the most beautiful beaches in this country! Food and drinks are a bit pricey, but you are paying for the scenic location. I recommend coming here at lunchtime if you are up at this end of the Cape. This is also a good stop off for a break if you are driving from say Hyannis to Provincetown. I haven’t been at night, but I hear there is a great music scene in the evenings. It’s a fun place to stop one at one time if you are in this part of beautiful Cape Cod.

Sooo yeaa… I don’t understand why this place has such good reviews, maybe it’s because of the view of the ocean? That is why I’m giving it 2 stars instead of one. The food is sub-par. There’s outdoor seating also that has a decent view of the ocean. There’s a small area by the entrance that sells souvenir T-shirts and Hoodies. There were 2 arcades inside, one which is racing and other deer hunting if I could remember. The service was ok. The wait for a table was at least 20 – 30 minutes so we took a bar seat instead. Parking is on the sand, full puddles. Watch your step when you get out of the car! There is also a couple porta potties in the parking area. I would come back here for a couple beer and watch the sunset, but not the food…

Amazing spot on the Cape. Perfect for escaping the beach or attending a concert in the summer. Offers oyster shooters and a wide range of seafood options. Try the Lobster Roll(see photos) & get a plate of fresh Wellfleet oysters. Never disappoints.

The food here is all really good, and its right on the beach so its very fun to come during the day. Get the fried scallops — they come in one of those big taco shell baskets with fries and they are so tender and awesome. The oysters were amazing as were the lobster rolls, fish tacos and fish sandwiches. Also the cold shrimp cocktail were amazing — so big and plump with a lot of flavor. I was a little bummed because we went on labor day for a second time and they had run out of all seafood by 2pm — i understand wanting to manage inventory before the season ends but it was still prime lunch time on labor day! How could you run out of all seafood?!

This place excels at drinks and oysters. Got the fish and chips but to me the fish lacked flavor.

I’ve been going to the Beachcomber since the early 90s when I lived on Cape year-round(they’re not open in the winter anyway). Their food is consistently decent, but not great. Our last experience was not so great. They sat a table of like 15 people beside us, probably 10 of them were children and the adults were at the other end. The children were running amok, and I was getting bumped into every minute or two. It was unnerving, to the point that I just ended up asking for the check early and leaving. The staff didn’t even notice, apparently. If you’re going here with your 10 kids, you’ll probably have a blast. If you want to be able to eat and have a conversation, look elsewhere.

This place is a ton of fun and anyone who gives this place one star is the ultimate party pooper. You go here for the experience of going, not to get a 5-star meal with impeccable service(but the food is really, really good might I add). If you happen to be at the beach and run out of beer, hike up that big, dusty hill and come here for a fresh one. You will not be disappointing… unless you are the party pooper I mentioned earlier.

I was weary about this place. I figured a rowdy bar/party atmosphere as described by other reviewers wouldn’t be able to deliver with good food. I was wrong! I also usually steer clear of restaurants signature drinks,(i.e. their Goombay Smash) as I feel they tend to be weak & all juice. Wrong again! It was perfect. I had the lobster roll, and while I am a hot-butter type all the way, their cold salad version was good. My dinner mates had the fried oysters & swordfish, all good reviews. The steamers and clams from the raw bar were a bit sandy. The nacho appetizer was also bangin! I just wish the set up at this place was different. When you’re dining outside, the entire area is fenced in very high with a wooden«fence» so there is zero view of anything except wood. It felt very, very cramped and closed in.

Love this place! Great food served fast and decently priced considering the location. It can get a bit loud and cramped, but don’t let that deter you!

I wanted Wellfleet oysters, while in Wellfleet. This place had delicious oysters but it’s not worth the hassle. It’s in a backroad of Wellfleet. When we drove up, a parking attendee asked us to loop around and come back in 5 minutes since there wasn’t parking… so we did. as we drove down cahoon hollow road, the parking attenddee was with his partner and so they charged $ 20 to park but gave us a coupon for $ 20 towards food while dining inside. ugh. it was an hour wait for seats on a sunday – gloomy and cold day. so we went up to the bar and ordered a dozen oysters and lobster bisque in a cup for $ 36. It was kind of neat to see the guys shuck the oysters in front of you at the side bar between the deck and the restaurant. It was crowded, there weren’t many seats at the bar, we ate our food standing up on a high table by the ordering stand located on the outside before you walk past the little gift shop. when we left, the parking attendees were gone and not charging anybody else coming in… i wish we had continued our drive to provincetown, found parking and picked a restaurant there to sit down and eat some oysters with less hassle. this was between 3 – 5PM so there’s no wait for restaurants, just make sure they’re open for business.

It’s a highlight of our summer. Spending the day at Cahoon Hollow Beach(steering clear of the seals so as not to invite the whites!)… that last climb up the very treacherous dune path(really, a great workout — you feel like you’ve EARNED that drink at the top!)… and then a few cocktails outside, a few shrimp cocktail, some great music, and the sunset. There is NOTHING like the Beachcomber! It’s VERY kid-friendly, and then the place transitions really nicely into a night club with great music. One of my favorite artists, Martin Sexton, just HAPPENED to be playing there two summers ago and I just happened to have spent the day there at the beach. It was like a GIFTFROMHEAVEN. Can’t say enough about the place. Go.

Fun beach bar! Everyone recommended the Goombay Smash, it was very strong. It was a weird brown color, I wish it looked more attractive. We also ate here, my friend loved her veggie burger and my other friend really enjoyed the fish tacos. I had the burger and it was clutch to soak up all the alcohol from the Goombay Smashes. Overall it was a fun experience!

It is what it is: a loud, party atmosphere beach bar with very good food and service. Calhoun Beach is lovely but not for the faint of heart because it is reached via a very long, wide, and EXTREMELY steep sandy path. I honestly did not know how I was going to get back up that hill! But once at the top after a nice day in the sea and sun, there’s the Beachcomber to wet your whistle. All the National Seashore Beaches charge a parking fee of $ 20.00. Beachcomber credits your $ 20.00 parking charge towards your food/drink bill, so it’s a wash. And a very good wash, indeed, so be sure to take advantage of it! We stopped here for drinks and nibbies after a day at the beach(+/-4 p.m.) before venturing back to our friends’s house in Wellfleet, and were pleasantly surprised. Outside was packed and very loud. We sat inside and did not have to wait. Fun drinks, and the Garlic Mussels and Cajun Shrimp(could have been more than five, though, for the price) were absolutely divine! We had such a nice time we bought tee shirts, a sweatshirt and a baseball cap!

It gets very crowded and you should expect 1 – 2 hours wait. Your $ 20 parking will be redeemed towards your food bill. The beach is really nice.

Expected more. Food — my friend and I ordered garlic clams to share. They were pretty much inedible. There was so much sand — I’m not talking an occasional piece of sand here, but like a pile of sand inside the shell(see pic). I was literally crunching away on sand — it overwhelmed the texture of the clam. I am not a big complainer but we had to send them back after the first one. The waitress was very nice about it and took them away immediately. We ordered buffalo shrimp instead. We got 5 shrimp… for 11 bucks? Seemed a bit overpriced. They were just OK. My friend’s buffalo wings were pretty good though. Beer — decent selection. Service — our waitress was really nice. The hostess was a bit standoffish — my friend asked if there were outlets to charge her phone and was told NO. Then we found an outlet and sat by it… I also liked the addition of a calculator inside the bill holder — hadn’t seen that before. Atmosphere — cute and beachy. you have the option to sit outside or inside. there is a raw bar outside(you are charged separately) and I didn’t have a chance to sample those items. The beach by the restaurant is really nice with tall sand dunes and a beautiful view. Parking — they charge you 20 bucks to park here. Then they give you a voucher for 20 worth of food or merchandise. When we handed out waitress the voucher, she just gave us a 20 back which I thought was a bit odd. Overall, loved the location/beach but was extremely disappointed in the food.

This place is awesome and no future trip to the Cape will be complete without a visit to the Beachcomber of Wellfleet. Want to see for yourself? They run a live feed webcam of the premises where you can see all of the action in real time. Yes, the other reviews you have read are true. This place is exceptionally popular and busy. Trying to find parking can be challenging so save yourself the time and park in the far lot and take one of their shuttles they run. During the summer you will have better odds winning a dollar on a scratch ticket than getting a spot in their primary lot. They have access to a private beach, the establishment is setup up and looks like a large house. They have an amazing raw bar and the best lobster bisque I have ever had. In fact all of the seafood I tried hear was pretty fresh and excellent. There is also some outstanding people watching here. This place is semi-family friendly while at the same time still catering to entertaining adults. Your trip to the Cape is not complete without a visit here.

Oh Beachcomber… how do I love thee??? I do not give out 5 stars easily, but Beachcomber deserves every bit of 5 stars. I only wish it was not 3,000 miles away from me!!! Otherwise, I will be there every weekend during the summer. I used to live in Boston. The hubs and I tried to go there once but it was crazy packed and we just could not park/get in. So on my recent trip to Boston/Cape Cod with my mom, I was determined to eat at Beachcomber. We arrived on a Wednesday in early July around 11:40am and there was no problem with parking this time. It is $ 20 to park and they give you a voucher for $ 20 which you can redeem for food or merchandise. We grabbed a table outside, ordered a couple of glasses of wine from our server. We decided to try the local wine, Sauvignon Blanc from Truro. Then it was time to hit the RAWBAR!!! What a cool concept. You can walk up to the bar and order oysters and clams. Then they shuck it for you in front of your eyes. Can’t get any fresher than that! We got a dozen oysters, a half dozen clams, and some peel and eat shrimp. Amazing oysters. It isn’t so often that a taste of something just makes me happy. Clams were very good also. Shrimps were just so-so. But man… Oysters! Needless to say, we went back and ordered another dozen oysters and a half dozen clams. To tell you the truth, I really could have eaten more oysters, but my mom reminded me that we should also try other items from their menu… So, from the menu, we ordered: — Fried whole belly clams: Excellent. Thinking about it is making me hungry now. — Clam Chowder: Pretty good, but not the best. We finished this meal with excellent Pina Colada. Then it was nap time! We walked down to the beach and spent a couple of hours enjoying the sunshine. I love their style. They serve oysters and clams on paper plates with lemon wedges and cocktail sauce. No fancy frills, just good ass seafood! Does not get any better than that. On our visit, we had oysters from Neptune Oyster in North End, Legal Seafood, and Beachcomber, and Beachcomber had the best oysters. I cannot wait to go back! I only wish we had places like this in southern California… sigh. It is a popular spot, so arrive early. By 12:15pm, all the outside tables were taken.

Beach comber restaurant and bar was packed so we didn’t get a chance to eat there. However, it’s a fun spot with tons of 20’s 30’s 40’s 50’s+ something’s enjoying the bar + beach. You can hike down on the dunes to the beach which is beautiful BTW. Beach is nice to relax and lay out. There are life guards. Everyone was very friendly. Parking situation crazy so we parked 1.5 miles at the next beach and took the free shuttle bus $ 20. A must stop when going to Cape Cod.
