Son & Daughter-in-Law just moved to the town, and didn’t know if there were any good coffee shops. This is the first one we tried. Coffee good! The wife’s skinny vanilla latte was good also. The ‘Chewbakka’(an eggnog chai latte) and gingerbread lattes were just fine. We’ll be back.

New favorite coffee shop! I went by for my first time this morning and was reading the menu when one of the baristas came to my car window to ask if I was ready to order. I told her I hadn’t been there before and wasn’t sure what I wanted yet. She gave me some great suggestions and I got something similar to what I order at Starbucks for half the price! And the coffee was delicious. I’ve been so tired of the crappy Salt Lake Mormon coffee shops(sorry to all you Beans n Brews lover but YUCK). Finally found a good little coffee shop with great employees and delicious coffee!

Raw Bean was my go to stop for coffee when I worked downtown. Now that they’ve expanded to West Jordan I couldn’t be happier. James and his crew have been so kind and welcoming to all of the Caffè Expresso patrons. I love that as soon as I pull up each morning they know exactly what I want and help me get on my way to work faster. There are way more breakfast options(homemade biscotti and banana bread) which makes me happy. One can only eat so many costco muffins. But, if that’s your thing, get the maple apple struddle. I typically get house coffee with a shot of espresso. I was relieved to hear Raw Bean uses the same coffee supplier as Caffè Expresso. Very happy with the changes!!!

Insultingly expensive. Look, I realize I am about to sound like a basic bitch here, but just keep in mind that I just moved here from NYC and had coffee at Colombe, Abraco, at my restaurant, and never paid more than $ 3.50 for an au lait, with or without soy milk(Abraco doesn’t even offer soy Milk, and maybe Colombe doesn’t either, but I’m saying that I know good stuff when I drink it, my occasional indulgence in flavored, lactose free beverages aside). If their status quo is all about their roasts, fine. I can tell you that they are a bit watery and pretty medium in that category. I just drove through the WJ location because I needed a pick me up, so I asked for a medium au lait with pumpkin and soy(I know, I know, I know, pumpkin, whatever). The barista told me it was $ 4.50, which is more than the same drink at Starbucks(roughly $ 3.85, location depending). In fact, it’s more than the same drink at High Point($ 3.31). And it’s also more than the same drink at Caffe Expresso on 9th and 21st($ 3.75), a neighborhood that might be more attune to that price. It’s .75 extra for soy(which costs less than milk, especially when ordered in bulk), and .75 for a favor. That’s $ 1.50. You guys have got to be kidding, Raw Bean. I started ordering au laits(also known as mistos) a million years ago when I realized I hated lattes and have forever enjoyed that they are much less expensive, as they are easier to make and don’t contain espresso. They are also served in bowls in Brasseries, but that’s beside the point here. It also doesn’t help that I used to work at the coffee shop that previously housed the location and was familiar with their price point, but, I apologized to the baristas, asked them to break down the price for me. I told them they could keep the drink and that I’d rather go to Starbucks(I went to High Point, closer). I realize this is a dick move, but I didn’t want to fork over the cash for a drink I get all the time and pay way less for at competition’s places. I told the baristas it wasn’t their fault, but that some wires must be crossed with their pricing guide. I hope they get it figured out. I guess I’ll try it again later?
