I love how the menu of this place is unique and not just a generic Asian restaurant. They offer street food that you will not be able to find or not as easy to find at other Asian restaurant. They are also in a very good location, downtown, and near other hang out facilities. After your stomach is full you can go party in downtown :). You can also start out your party with drinks here as well. They do offer full-bar service… DEFINITELY A MUSTTRY

Decided to stop by palm sugar on clematis in Downtown West Palm Beach. The service was exceptional. Our waiter was very helpful. We are actually there for the reverse happy hour. We tried the fish taco which I thought was by far the best fish tacos I’ve had in West Palm Beach. We also tried the chicken fried rice which was good but a bit too salty for our tastes. The sushi was not as good as expected based on the appetizers. It was a bit mushy which is odd. I don’t know why it was so moist. I tried that it cheesecake with green tea ice cream. It was it was definitely very interesting. I think it depends on your taste if you like it or not. I thought it was excellent my wife thought it was so-so.

Excellent food and value! Their portions are generous and tasty. My favorite pad thai… Very inviting happy hourS. We are locals(live downtown) and have quite a variety of places to eat but about every third or fourth time out, go back to Palm Sugar.

Poor food quality. Ordered chicken teriyaki for lunch. Thinking of the chicken right now makes me cringe. There was so much fat on it. It was accompanied with vegetable which were definitely out of a freezer bag. 5 carrot slices and 3 prices of broccoli. The best thing and majority of what I hate for lunch was the brown rice. Sooo many other options in walking distance.

Today ordered takeout for the 1st time here. Disclosure I am a big fan of Palm Sugar but today, ordered sushi to go. Apparently they dont give you soy sauce for to go sushi orders?!? I work downtown and walk there to pickup so going all the way back was not an option. I know it couldnt be an oversight because i requested eel sauce and spicy mayo in the comments when ordering online and they gave me those… do I really need to ask for soy sauce when ordering sushi???

I wandered across this restaurant on Unilocal when I was in the area and decided to try it for dinner. Little to my surprise, I thought the food was well-priced($ 10 – 15 per dish) for being on Clematis and I found some items to be really delicious and some items to be mediocre. My absolute favorite that I’m still craving, is their char-siu pork bun. Great flavor and really traditional dish. The other must try hit is their bacon wrapped scallop skewers. Brought out with a tiny grill, you can cook it longer yourself as they are already cooked. I was excited to try their beef skewers but it wasn’t anything special. A little tough. I also tried their duck tacos and assorted dumplings. Could’ve skipped those. In the end, the dessert was just the sweetness I needed to end the night. I enjoyed a chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream and strawberries.

We must have come on a day where everyone called in sick. There was one guy waiting tables inside & out, and a lady that cleared tables. The man stood at the front of the table, never delivered the food to the people in my party, but had us pass the food down. Only 2 lunches came with salads, but he brought everyone a salad in my party, minus one person. He said they ran out of lettuce. I informed him tht we didn’t get salads with our meal(sushi) and he said that’s ok. He filled everyone’s water, but ran out at my water, and never came back!!! The food was just ok. I’ve had better sushi, and I feel like the service made the place more awful than it should have been. Wouldn’t recommend this place

Ahhhh Palm Sugar! We had just had a massage and we’re looking for a place to have a bite and drink. This seemed perfect! A sushi place with desserts!!! How great! We hopped in looking for a drink and something sweet! Nope For a place who advertises their desserts as half their business … They were out of desserts! On a Friday night?! Eek! We had one sake and moved on quickly

I was spending the day in West Palm Beach celebrating Valentine’s Day and I was trying to find a nice place to get dinner later but still something low key enough to not have to deal with the crowds this holiday usually brings. Turned out Palm Sugar was the perfect place! It’s located right on Clematis Street on the corner of Olive. Yes there are 2 other great sushi places on the same street but they were packed and overcrowded and we both didn’t want to deal with that. We got awesome attentive service and great food at Palm Sugar with no hassle. It was still a full place but not crowded. Our waitress was always there to help and that made this experience so much better and it felt a lot more intimate that was as well. Since it’s located right on the corner the people watching can be fun as too lol! Also worth noting there is a parking garage right across the street so it was very easy to just park and get right to the restaurant. Free to park on Sunday(not sure about Saturday). We were seated quickly(I made a reservation) and ordered some drinks. My date got a beer(pretty decent craft beer list) and I tried their version of an old fashioned called a «smoked old fashioned» and it was great. We started with the crispy bok choy and the seaweed salad. Ironically, in all the year’s I have loved sushi I have never ordered the seaweed salad. Thanks to my date I tried it and it was really good but not as good as the crispy bok choy! It was so good and the added bacon made it even better. We both liked that appetizer the best. We decided to share a few sushi rolls. I love sushi(raw fish only) and never order things like the California roll or a veggie roll because I feel like what’s the point?! But someone else(not pointing fingers here lol) loves the California roll(with added cream cheese) so we had to get that lol. Luckily they also like raw fish so we also got the Ai Maguro roll(spicy Tuna, Avocado, Flake, Soy paper, Spicy Tuna and Spicy Kimchee yuzu topping), the Rain Drop roll(shrimp Tempura, Spicy Tuna, Jalapeño, Avocado, Soy Paper, Spicy Mayo, Kimchee sauce) and a JB hand roll(salmon and cream cheese) for me. Hands down the Ai Maguro was our favorite. It was so good we could have ordered another one but wanted to try something different so we ordered the rain drop roll instead. The roll is actually shaped like a rain drop which was pretty cool too. They also used this pink soy paper that I thought was pink for the holiday but after speaking to the waitress she said it was just that color. Seemed a bit too perfect but we weren’t complaining lol! My hand roll was delicious as well and we had a great meal, the service was perfect and we never felt rushed to leave like many other place were doing around us. I got very lucky picking this place and I would definitely come back next time I am in the area. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars was its lack of specialty rolls. The sushi menu was basic and there were probably only 8 – 10 specialty rolls to choose from and I am used to like 20. I wish we had a bit more to choose from so that’s why I am taking away a star.

What a pleasant surprise at Palm Sugar. This restaurant is inexpensive with a large menu of innovative Asian cuisine. I enjoyed the papaya salad and a delicious noodle and seafood entrée(can’t remember the name) The restaurant is lively but not so noisy that you cannot hear and partake in the table conversation. Staff is obtrusive but helpful in discussing menu options. Not a huge dessert menu but the red velvet cake was really good. Go with a group of friends and enjoy trying and sharing plates. You will not be disappointed.

It’s tough to find a good Asian restaurant amongst the hundreds that are in PBC, let alone South Florida at large. Palm Sugar is one of the standouts. Located on Clematis Street in Downtown West Palm Beach, Palm Sugar offers great happy hour specials on both hot-served Asian cuisine and sushi as well as beer and wine. I’ve been there a few times since November, and they’ve always been consistent and left me satisfied. Their gyoza, dynamite roll, and Unagi Don for example are excellent. I haven’t ordered their basil duck, but have tasted it and was good.

Delicious, Delicious, Delicious! It is I would say as having an Asian family being the best Asian food you can get in South Florida, I really felt like I was back in Singapore. The atmosphere is really nice and looks very good and is very comfortable. The owner who is seen helping around the restaurant is from Bangkok Thailand and had recently come back from a trip from there as he told me when he comes back from there he takes ideas from there and implements it on the restaurant. But the food was delicious! My family had plate after plate of food(family of 6) from Sushi to beef rolls it was all delicious and fresh! And honestly the best part is at the end of it with drinks and plenty of food for a family of 6 it came out to only $ 61.98. So we were quite happy and I will forever recommend this place!

We gave this a try today and we hit the jackpot. It was happy hour, the items on it were good, we ordered padthai, panang, garlic chicken and chinese eggplant basil, mini skewers. All items were incredible, fresh, tasted fresh and delicious. Our server Daniel was very helpful and took care of our party of 6 very well. Awesome place if you are in the cityplace/Clematis street area in West Palm Beach. Surely going there again… :)

I’ve been here a few times. Their happy hour drink and food menu is a great deal. Lots of small dishes to share with the table. The service has always been great. Pork buns, fish tacos, fried bok choy, all the rolls, yaki soba noodles were all very good. I would recommend.

Wer mal kreativ asiatisch Essen gehn will ist hier gerade richtig.

Everything about this place was great! Service was exceptional! Atmosphere was nice and relaxing. Good was amazing!!! What more can you ask for? All our dishes were top notch! We had the Bok choy, fish tacos, and duck buns for starters! Each was abs amazing! I have nothing bad to say about them. The skewers were good, my bf loved them. I loved my noodle dish as well! Drinks were a bit strong, I ordered the lychee martini. A bit too strong as a dinner drink for my taste.

Palm Sugar far exceeded our expectations! We absolutely loved the Char siu bao, flavorful pulled pork wrapped in a pillowy billowy soft bao. The fish tacos were full of herbs and tempura fried tilapia, absolutely delicious! The sushi rolls were tasty and on par. Between 3 and 7 they have happy hour including $ 3 beers! Our server was fabulous which made the whole experience even better!
