A great shame this place closed. With all the mediocre over-rated restaurants cluttering Westport, you’d think the town could have kept their most inventive, romantic, and food-centric restaurant going. I’m truly puzzled. Twice I was there(I know, not a great sample size) and the experience was amazing — food, service, ambience, the whole package. I will surely be keeping my ear to the ground to find out where the chefs end up and make a point to come to their new place.

Too bad this place closed. I enjoyed many meals and drinks with friends at this welcoming restaurant.
The worst service ever. Ordered appetizers and an entrée to share — everything came at once and was not up to temperature. Food was sitting in our view under heat lamps for 15 minutes. The manager seemed to be more interested in his cell phone apps than his clientele — he didn’t come over once to check on us when we sent back food for being cold nor when we proceeded to cancel part of our order. Everyone we dealt with was unprofessional and I can see why this place is so empty — past 3 visits included. I don’t understand why an owner would make a significant investment and not make an effort to ensure customer satisfaction.

Wow, fantastic service and food was absolutely superb. I went in on a Sunday night at 7:50 and although the kitchen was closing the staff treated me and my guest like the restaurant just had opened. The food was outstanding they didn’t make us feel rushed at all very courteous the waiter was very knowledgeable made great suggestions I would come here again and again and again to try all of the really unique items on the menu. Home run for this place! The Decour so trendy! I had the tuna burger and my guess have the arctic char cook to perfection presentation was on point I’m so happy I found this little gem in Westport!

Wow, a great improvement! Sunday evening at the bar a couple ok bartenders and very friendly and knowledgable Mgr. Scallops great. House salad good. Service very satisfactory which had been a disaster on last visit many months ago. ½ price Sundays on bottles of wine made for a reasonable evening. However I don’t believe there are any wines on list below $ 50!!! A little over the top when many good places in area have decent selections in the $ 35 and up range. Suggest they need major improvement in this area! But try this spot again as décor et al so impressive. Push them on a more affordable wine list!

Nicks the server that attended our table and he was prompt and smiling the entire time. He also made sure that one of our entrees was low in sodium and also exchanged a macaroni dish for a burger and fries with no hesitation. My party enjoyed it. A cozy atmosphere, Thank you!!!

Planned a great corporate dinner! I am an event coordinator for a company who holds a multiple dinner meetings per week. I worked with Post 154 to plan a corporate dinner and it was a breeze. They were extremely attentive to my needs and requests. We were able to customize a menu for our guests exactly to our liking and organize the drink menu. The private room downstairs was beautiful and secluded, perfect for our needs. The service was wonderful. The managers at the restaurant, Matt and Jeffrey, ensured that everything was set up perfectly, they greeted my guests at the door and led them downstairs. The food was absolutely amazing! The end result was wonderful! I highly recommend Post 154 for an amazing private dining experience — and also just for the delicious food!

What a fabulous dining experience from beginning to end. Superb service. We wanted for nothing & got everything! Why can’t service be like this everywhere? Thank you servers for your impeccable service! Definitely enjoyed the outdoor patio under the stars: designed for privacy w beautiful plants, trees & shrubs creating a relaxing & pleasant courtyard-ish area w soft lighting, awnings, umbrellas & chill background music. The interior echoes a larger scale speak easy or a Theodore Roosevelt steak house. Wine cellar. Private party rooms. They take cocktailing seriously, yet it’s a playful menu. The cucumber martini was a big hit but the red sangria was just ok. Everything we ordered was delicious, beautifully presented, and ample in portion: Eggplant«meatballs» were rich & cheesy– genius. Fried calamari was crisp & tender w a ample spice & lightly sauced, but the marvel was the Grilled Portuguese Octopus w Fresh avocado, house potato chips, Maldon sea salt, red Chile sauce– beautiful presentation & complex in flavor and texture. Steak special w rout veg & au jus glaze was perfectly grilled w excellent flavor. The onion rings are house made & thick, sautéed spinach was so good– buttery, and the Brussels sprouts were tender & tangy. The chocolate tort was decadent, rich, velvety chocolate goodness. Highly suggested.

I came here with a large group, and we enjoyed the high quality service and food. The décor is historical and sophisticated, as this is an old post office. We tried the seasoned fries, onion rings, crab cakes, and calamari. The crab cakes and calamari were especially good. They have a nice variety of cocktails on the menu. Outdoor seating is available. Parking could be challenging during certain times of the day.

This was my first time going to post154 and I must say their Red sangria and the mac & cheese was absolutely amazing. What was very disappointing was the dessert menu and their weren’t many choices on the menu itself The place itself is nice and cozy and I love the dimness inside I’ll probably come again just for the mac & cheese.

I have been twice recently and both times came away impressed. Friendly service all round, the beet carpaccio with goats cheese is wonderful and I highly recommend the swordfish. Cocktails, Wine list(although pricey), coffees all great quality. I will definitely go back. The outside terrace is very nice too!

Went to Post 154 on a recommendation from a friend, I had heard mixed reviews about this spot and was slightly reluctant, I am happy to say my reluctance was for nothing, the restaurant was solid. The décor is just wonderful, it is open and expansive, yet warm and inviting at the same time. We sat at a high top near the bar area, the weather was great so all the doors to the patio were open creating this open-air feel. It was fairly early on a Friday so the atmosphere was very after work«happy hour» which was a good thing. Appetizers: GRILLEDPORTUGUESEOCTOPUS: very fresh and tender, the chips were a nice touch although I felt the dish was missing something, I was wishing there was slightly more of that delicious red chili sauce. Crab Cakes: The crab cakes themselves were fantastic, they had a great sear on them and the crab was the shining star, not a lot of unnecessary fillers. The corn and green onions kind of felt just thrown on the dish just for show, once again I felt like it needed more sauce or a bit more citrus to bring it all together. Entrees: Adobo Grilled Churrasco Steak: The steak was grilled to a perfect Med. Rare and the chimichurri was spot on. The grilled veggies were amazingly fresh with the grilled broccoli being my favorite, after eating that I am going to start grilling my own broccoli…(who knew?) Overall I had a great experience at Post 154, the drinks were great the service was impeccable, our Server was Chivonne(probably spelled that wrong, sorry) and she was so knowledgeable of the menu and attentive to our needs without hovering, she made the experience 1 star higher. As for the food it was good and I am looking forward to returning to try some more of Chef Alex Rosado’s creations. It’s also worth noting that as parents to two small children on a date-night, that we were in and out within an hour, which is oh so important when the babysitter clock is ticking away…

I came here by a recommendation from a friend, and did not know exactly what to expect. The second I saw Eggplant Parmesan Meatballs on the menu, I knew it couldn’t be as bad as some of the reviews made it seem. I do also notice a trend that since management changed, there have been more positive experiences at this restaurant/bar. So I was open minded. The pros: I weigh the food highly on my scale, when rating a restaurant. In this case, I found the Eggplant Parmesan Meatballs to be one of the best dishes I have had at a restaurant. The combination of cheeses, the quality of the tomato sauce, and the texture of these gems combined to perfection. I also had the London Broil over Creamy Horseradish Mashed Potatoes with Veggies, and again I was blown away. The other entrée I had was the Buffalo Cheeseburger, which was a great burger. The ambiance in this restaurant is also excellent, and well worth the visit. The con: The wait service upon my first visit(of 2) was incredibly slow, but then the waitress showed up and was literally the best waitress I had ever had. She knew the menu like a pro, she offered drinks and explained the vodka infusions incredibly well… it was a great way to make up for the initial wait. I can also say that prices were a bit high, but you are in Westport, so expectations must be managed. All in all, I have gone back twice, and will go back again. I make sure to manage my expectations in anything I do, so I can get the best of the experience. I do this for movies by reading bad reviews, and I do the same for restaurants to know what to expect and what to avoid. That would make any experience more positive. Enjoy!

It was late on a Thursday when we sat down at post 154. The restaurant was half empty and we were seated right away. The waitress was very friendly and offered us bread, we said we would love some. We were then served toasted hot dog buns with butter. Everybody around us had normal bread! I think they ran out of bread and improvised with hot dog buns but I don’t know how they thought we wouldn’t notice! As far as the food goes burger was good and my sister said the Amish chicken was delicious. The potstickers were bland and the crab cakes were dry didn’t have a lot of crab. I wouldn’t return but honestly it’s mostly because of the hot dog buns.

On a Saturday night they were very understaffed, slow delivery of food, no one checked on us and the forgot one of sides but charged us for it. It took the manager two tries to get our bill correct. The food was boring and very unimpressive. No thanks as there are much better options.

Was a really nice meal! The steak frites was definitely yummy. It comes with chimichurri sauce that made it a really interesting dish. We also had the Lord Bergamot cocktail, which was delicious. The tea infused vodka with the citrus was light and refreshing. The tuna special was a bit salty, but otherwise tasty and well prepared. We were seated in the bar area, which was a bit noisy, but hardly unexpected on a Saturday night.

Surprised at the disparate reviews of this restaurant, I wanted to see for myself how this place held up. I was confused when walking in on a Sunday at 12:30 because there was only one other party there. it was, however, Super Bowl Sunday and I figured many people could be at home gearing up for the big game. The brunch menu is sparse, but varied– with both sweet and savory options. The drink menu is similar, and I was very pleased with my beverage, the hot mama– made with jalepeno tequila. Very spicy!(Though, the cocktail prices should be listed — both the hot mama and foxy mama rounded out to be $ 12 each, but weren’t listed on the menu) For my meal I had the steak-eggs Benedict. It was absolutely delicious. I may have made that face that one makes when they’ve realized they just tasted what heaven must taste like. The chili-lime hollandaise sauce(which is atop a number of other brunch options) was so rich, I dipped my asparagus in it as well. I could eat that sauce with anything. I tasted my partner’s breakfast burger(topped with an egg, a prosciutto-like ham and the famous chili-lime hollandaise) which was also delicious, though not as good as my steak. The service was fast, friendly, and not pushy — which is pretty much all I ask of a server. The food was perfect temp when received and the drinks were strong. The downstairs is fancy, and they have a private room, which would be ideal for adult birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, or other intimate events. It looked to seat about 30 people, maybe more? I’m hoping Post 154 has a chance to stick around so I can check out the outdoor seating in the summer!

What a roller coaster! Post 154 was mostly dead. After a promising open with a few kinks, the place swooped downhill fast. Everyone in town has stories about clueless service, inconsistent food, botched drinks, and other problems that threatened to kill this very promising $ 4m space. So, just a few weeks ago, I stopped in for a drink after dinner(no way I was going to risk having dinner here again…) and was immediately struck by… competence? It was so obvious that a change had occured that I changed my drink order from bourbon on the rocks to a manhattan — and was pleasantly surprised by a great cocktail. So what happened? FOH management housecleaning. The absentee owner contracted with the folks behind Greenwich’s successful Ginger Man to manage the restaurant. It turns out they were fans of the space, and noticed the same problems we did. So if you haven’t been back yet — go. They kept the chef(the food was never the problem) but pitched the silly deconstructed menu in favor of more latin flaired dishes, and positively transformed the bar into something worth returning to. I hope it lasts!
