Benjamin steakhouse is the best steakhouse in Westchester, I wish they open for lunch ! The staff is really professional, they have nice selection of wine, the steak is perfectly done, good job!!!

Pretty much exactly what I thought it would be, typical decent(at best) quality, highly priced steakhouse. We started off with their seafood tower, which I give them a lot of credit for, the lobster pieces were huge. 1 – 1.5 lbs of lobster, oysters, fresh crab meat and shrimp cocktail per each tower. We also ordered calamari, which tasted frozen and wasn’t that great at all. Overall, I couldn’t tell you if the seafood was fresh or not, it may have been frozen. Since I ate so much lobster to start, I just decided to have their lobster bisque for dinner, which was okay, very salty. Nothing to rave about. We ordered a bunch of sides: creamed spinach: eh, again I think it was frozen; onion rings: I’ve had way better, certainly not made in house; asparagus: plain huge pieces of asparagus, blah; broccoli: that was tasty, a nice garlic taste to it; and mashed potatoes: tasted boxed to me. They should have had potatoes au gratin. I wonder how much of the food was fresh to be honest. We also ordered a desert tray which was pretty good, came with 5 or so deserts including carrot cake, chocolate mousse cake, pecan pie. Again, nothing was homemade. Overall tasted exactly like a chain steakhouse. Not my cup of tea, but the ambiance was nice, nicely decorated for the holiday season and they do give you a lot of food. Service was decent(we were a huge table). Wine menu was okay. I thought they could step up quality a lot more. Then again, I don’t eat steak…

Our evening at Benjamin’s was wonderful. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Atmosphere is beautiful. Service could not be better. If you want a good steak in Westchester, this is the place!

For my husband’s birthday, we decided to come here, since we love steakhouses and have not been to one in quite a while. When we pulled up, I was surprised to see how large the space was. The bar area was really busy, as was the dining room. We had a reservation so we were seated right away. There were so many tables with kids! WHY. It wasn’t a crazy early reservation or anything. And it was a Saturday night. All these kids had blazers. What is happening in Westchester. Who are these people? So anyway we sat and ordered wine ASAP, which was totally necessary. The wine list was pretty good, I had a hard time choosing my favorite red, but finally settled on a Napa Cab. I ordered a Caesar Salad to start and the rack of lamb as an entrée. We ordered hash browns and creamed spinach as sides. Pretty standard steakhouse fare for our group. The salad was pretty good. Nothing incredible, but honestly it’s a Caesar, so… it’s hard to blow anyone away with that. The rack of lamb was very good and well cooked. I definitely enjoyed it and thought it was a really great piece of meat, well flavored and expertly cooked. But then… the sides. Yikes. I know you go to steakhouses for the meat and not the sides, but maybe I’m backwards? The creamed spinach flat out tasted bad. I am a creamed spinach lover and usually scoop out all the seconds and thirds, but I couldn’t get through more than a bite or two. Ugh. So depressing. So I went for the potatoes and SAMETHING. Awful. There is almost nothing I won’t plow through. Especially carbs, most notably potatoes and of note: spinach covered in cheese and cream. NOMS. While I ate all my lamb and really thought it was extremely good, I don’t know if I would go back because the sides are such a big part of the fun and the meal! The potatoes were bland and oily and overcooked. And you know how I felt about the spinach. It just tasted… off. And you know what was the most awful part? There was a slight hint of something with a chemical aftertaste. So I had to pass. The worst part is, we love steakhouses! We like to sit around with a big group and chow down. I would have to suggest choosing another place instead of Benjamin’s. Bummer city. I wanted to like it so much! I left it at three stars instead of two though because the meats really were done properly and the wine selection was on point.

My parents were in town visiting from Florida. I brought them to Benjamin Steakhouse for my Stepmom’s birthday dinner. The service was TERRIBLE. When we arrived the hostess didn’t know where to sit us, and then stated that we were going to have to sit in the Oak room(as if it was a punishment). Once seated, our server arrived a few minutes later. no hello, have you dined with us before, how are you this evening. it was are you ready to order? Now I have never been a server, but i can tell you I have dined at MANY high end restaurants before, and as well as hole in the wall places that have had better service than what we received. We basically had to tell him that we would like to order cocktails before we ordered Never asked if we had questions. it was like pulling teeth just to order. I felt like I was talking to a wall. My dad then asked for the sommelier as he wanted to purchase a nice bottle of wine. he was better off picking the wine himself. The food was okay, I have had a better filet, but perhaps it was just how the dining experience started out, basically ruining the night. I would have expected a much better experience from a $$$$ restaurant. I am not writing this review to bash the waiter or restaurant, but in hopes that they can improve their servers for future potential guests. There are WAY better local spots that have better food and service. I will not be returning.

We went here for our anniversary. We were seated quickly and the place was mostly full on a Saturday night. The waiter, a giant Russian guy(I think all the waiters were giant Russian guys) came over to the table and basically just stood there until we ordered drinks. He didn’t push any appetizers nor did he mention any specials(to be fair, I don’t have any idea if this restaurant has specials). He came back with our beverages and walked away even though we both had our menus closed. He came back a few minutes later and just stared at us until we ordered(no apps). We both got the rib eye. I ordered mine medium rare and my wife ordered hers rare. My experience with places that serve steak has been if it’s a regular restaurant, I order rare and if it’s a steakhouse, I order medium rare because they always cook it properly. They even have a temperature chart on the menu. Well, mine was rare and my wife’s was«blue». We didn’t send them back because we can both eat steak like that, but this was VERY disappointing considering we’re paying $ 45 for each steak, ala carte. Our reservation was for 8:30, we were seated by 8:35, ordered by 8:40 and the food was on the table at 8:50. I’ve never in my life been served the entrée in a steakhouse in 10 minutes. We also ordered creamed spinach, which was rather tasty but basically pureed, and the Benjamin home fries, which were outstanding. Both sides were more than enough for us to share and even bring some home. Basically, I expected better ambiance and attention. The waiters and servers had zero personality, made absolutely no attempt to offer us anything in the way of cocktails, appetizers or additional sides. Our waiter didn’t even welcome us or introduce himself. One other note, which was very off putting — every time a table vacated in our area, the waiter would get the book and immediately open it and count his tip right there on the floor. We saw 3 different waiters do this and it was in very poor taste. Another thing — their dress code says«smart casual» but many diners were in shorts, t-shirts and flip flops. This isn’t what we expect in a high end restaurant.

DON’T BOTHER Doesn’t live up to the hype. Servers were attentive, the restaurant well-appointed, but the experience as a whole was disappointing, especially for a nearly $ 300 check. Billed as «fine dining,» the patrons did nothing to enhance our special occasion. Many men came in shorts and other casual clothes. Volume was boistrous and filled with profanity. We visited on a Thursday, were all dressed up and felt out of place! Oyster appetizers were the best part. Iceberg wedge with runny bleu cheese and chopped tomato salads were overwhelmingly mediocre. My husband, a carnivore of the first order, ordered the rib eye, and I, the petite filet mignon. Neither was top quality and we were both disappointed. Desserts were standard and not worth mentioning. We’ll go to Ruth’s Chris next time.

We had a delightful meal at Benjamin’s. The steaks were among the best I’ve ever had most likely due to the 30 day aging process. The caesar salad, however, did not taste or look fresh but rather limp. For the price, this shouldn’t be. The rest of the meal, sauteed spinach, was cooked to perfection. The waiters are a bit lacking in that they have no personality and are not very attentive. The staff should work on connecting more with the guests. I would rate the food, with exception of the caesar salad, 5 stars. I would rate the waiting staff as 3 stars.

We were here for the first time on Saturday to celebrate my Birthday. We were five minutes early for our reservation thinking we would be seated right away. Instead, we were told to go to the bar for a drink as our table was not ready.(If we wanted to sit at the bar, we would have shown up 30 minutes prior to our reservation). We did as asked and went to the bar where we sat for several minutes trying to get the bartenders attention as he was engrossed in the soccer game on the television. Once it went to commercial his back was no longer facing us. I ordered a red wine and he poured me a small amount to sample and then again turned his back on us to continue watching the game. I should have trusted my instinct and left after the bar experience. After thirty minutes with this horrible bartender(who by the way, doesn’t know the difference between a red wine glass and a white wine glass) we went to the hostess and asked if our table was ready? She replied, No. why don’t you have another drink at the bar… What, really?! Out of nowhere the Maitre-d appeared and took us to our table where we noticed the room was half full. Why the 40 minute wait?! Unless they are trying to drone up business at the bar $$$ Waiter comes over and becomes really irritated that I asked ONE question.(Are there any specials?). He sighed out loud looked away and said, just what’s on the menu. How I wish we would have gotten up and walked out at that point! He takes our orders and we NEVEREVER see him again! Except for the confrontation he was having with a large party next to us where the Maitre-d had to pull him away from the table. Sooo, we sat and sat with empty drinks and no water for 35 minutes, no coffee or dessert(It was my Birthday so yes, I wanted dessert). Finally after 40 minutes of NOSERVICE my husband got the attention of the Maitre-d who was able to get us our check so we could get the heck out of this nightmare. TERRIBLESERVICE, ARROGANTSTAFF, ZEROCUSTOMERSERVICE! I would never return nor recommend absolutely awful place. A Birthday to remember… That’s for sure!

Do NOT come here for any special occasion(Mothers Day, Father’s Day, etc.) They bait and switch the steaks. They advertise USDA Prime steaks but the quality of steak you receive is far from prime. My father, myself and my mother all had«USDA Prime Ribeye» more then half of the steaks were inedible. When we asked the manager to take a look at the meat and he responded«well that’s the kind of steak we ordered». This was not the first time we came to Benjamins and usually we have a pleasant experience however this previous was not one of them.

I took my family to Benjamin’s for my wife’s birthday. I thought the food was comparable in quality to other steakhouses in its price range. However, during this visit, I found the service lacking. When we arrived on time for an 8PM reservation, the lobby was crowded with people waiting to be seated. The hostess couldn’t take our coats because the coatroom was full and could not advise us as to when we might be seated. After waiting for 15 minutes, we escalated to the manager and after another 15 minutes we finally were seated. We expected better management of expectations. There were no major services flaws, just lots of little flaws that underwhelmed us. For example, we ordered wine and asked that it be served with the appetizers. It was served when they were half eaten. We were brought the wrong appetizer for one of our party and had to hunt down the waiter to have the correct order placed. We were later charged for both appetizers and the waiter was unapolagetic when the error was pointed out. Appetizer plates lingered too long on the table. We ordered three filet mignons, two petite cooked medium and a large cooked medium rare. They all came from the kitchen flagged as medium and the large one was served to the wrong party. We didn’t figure it out until after the steaks were half eaten. On the plus side, the food was good. The restaurant was diligent about gluten and dairy allergies and made accommodation when cooking sautéed mushrooms. We just expected better service for the price and have had better service at other steakhouses.

Do NOT go to Benjamin Steakhouse during Restaurant Week. I’ve been before and it’s been fine, but tonight… if it was my first experience I’d not be back. Service was fine, as always. Salad… instead of a «wedge» I got a slice… literally a slice of lettuce roughly 1″ x 3″ by 4″. My sirloin steak was the tiniest steak I’d ever seen. I asked the manager about it and was told that this was normal. No way. I’ve eaten there often, this was ½ the size of the smallest steak I’ve ever had. They should have been up-front and told me that, along with the lower prices, the portions would be much smaller. They did not, so I won’t be back.

My wife and I ate here for my birthday ¾/15,the food was great and the service was excellent, the atmosphere was romantic and being that I love steak I was very happy. I found a new steakhouse to enjoy a great meal, our waiter was charming and funny and management was very polite and gracious we definitely will be coming back…

After reading wonderful reviews about this steakhouse, I decided to give it a shot for Valentine’s Day. I originally had planned to go to Peter Luger’s but Benjamin’s had better time slots available for dinner as well as a nearby location, about a 20 minutes drive. Upon arrival, my boyfriend and I were greeted by a very friendly host who handed me a beautiful long stem red rose. This was a wonderful gesture and made me very happy and welcomed. We stayed at the bar for about 20 minutes since we arrived at 6:00 p.m. but our reservation wasn’t until 6:30 p.m. I ordered an apple martini which was tasty and delicious. We were seated on time and were immediately given the menus. The prefix menu seemed good but we opted for the standard menu. I ordered the filet mignon with the creamed spinach and my boyfriend ordered the rib eye with mashed potatoes. He hated the spinach but I loved it! The mashed potatoes were also delicious. Our steaks on the other hand were badly burnt on the outside. My filet was hard to cut and a bit chewy. The rib eye was just ok according to my boyfriend. We only ordered dinner and drinks. I was a bit disappointed with the steaks. Especially after reading reviews that Benjamin’s is comparable to Peter Luger’s. Nonsense! I will say that the service and staff were very polite, friendly and helpful.

An exceptional experience! Despite probably the busiest evening of the year we were treated like royalty. The service was as always over the top and the food was perfect! Shrimp(rather an incongruous term) were perfect and the bacon albeit salty was fab. The salads were all perfectly prepared and the steaks were as always superb. This is the epitome of NY steakhouses. What a pleasure to be back!!! Well done!

Ughh. How I so wanted to like this eastern european front… It’s a front for something but certainly not a steakhouse. Greeted rather nicely by a European man that brought us to our table. The waiter, a squared jaw’d no smiling russian front soldier that lost his rifle and took up a dress shirt and black slacks, was our waiter for the night. The food was«meh. I’ve experienced better». The service was«meh. I’ve experienced better». Prices were on par for a «steakhouse» like this but«meh. I’ve experienced better» in the pricing /value for what you get. I’ll pass this next time and head for a taco bell or McDonalds.

Service was good, friendly and attentive. But the quality of meat is not top class compared to other signature steak house, like Wolfgangs or Sparks.
