Got the Cathedral Pines(chicken, mozz, peppers) and Colvin Rock(roast beef, cheddar, mayo, lettuce, tomato) here and was unimpressed. Sure, the sandwiches are big but this is not the case where the whole was greater than its parts. My sandwich felt super imbalanced – tons of lettuce, a smear of mayo in one corner, paper thin slice of tomato, and equal parts roast beef and cheese so that mostly what I tasted was cheese and lettuce. The bread was supposedly rosemary garlic but had no hint of those flavors and just kept crumbling. I was told the chicken sandwich was pretty meh as well. I honestly think I can get something comparable at a regular deli.

We needed coffee on a freakishly cold Saturday evening, and this place was conveniently open. The«store» is a complete mess with items scattered and unkept, and not in any stylish rustic way. I actually felt so bad for the various dying plants that I watered them while waiting for my order). Besides the few people hanging out with the barista that left as soon as we entered, the place was empty. There seemed to be 3 employees working on a slow night, all useless. My companion was asked how much water he wanted in his Americano. My caffe mocha was more like flavored water, no hint of mocha. Why does this place exist?

Can’t get enough of the sandwiches here! For the price you are getting quality ingredients and a good portion in a sandwich. Also the sweets here are pretty amazing!

FORGETSUBWAY!!! General Store was cozy, beautiful, and everyone working there is so, so nice. Excellent sandwiches that were very hardy and filling, perfect with the hot sauce they have readily available. Couldn’t have asked for a better place than this for what I paid. Sunshine smoothie was excellent. Thank you so much, General Store. You’ve got a new loyal customer!

The general store is great! The sandwiches are excellent and priced affordable! I had the egg salad avocado sandwich. I think it was a special but it was mouth watering. They should keep it full time if they aren’t already. I don’t remember exactly.

Great sandwiches at great prices. In fact, being in Williamsburg I was worried the sandwiches would be smaller given the price. Not so. Nice big tuna salad piled high with sprouts, pickles, hot peppers, and more. The kicker? Gouda cheese: a perfect smokey, creamy compliment to the acid of the rest of the sandwich. Who would’ve guessed a meal sized sandwich like this would only cost $ 7 in New York?! And I don’t know how, but my sandwich stayed composed all the way through the last bite, with each component lasting just as long. Bingo.

The thing I miss most from moving away from the Williamsburg area is General Store. Perfect cold brew, perfect sandwiches, quick, quick, quick! And the people at the counter are so nice EVENTHOUGH they have to deal with cranky Williamsburg-ers all darn day!

Baby sister to The Lodge, General Store is the perfect spot for a coffee, juice, and a sammich. Counter seating only and there’s no A/C, but I’ve yet to encounter any obstacle that could keep me away. The sandwiches are made with fresh ingredients and great bread and their fresh smoothies and juices are delicious. I usually try to go veggie on juice/smoothies, but if its hella hot out try the Wimbly– the coconut is so refreshing! There are a ton of vegetarian/vegan options as well as quality meat choices if you’re the carnivorous type. Pull up a stool, whip out your paper fan, and enjoy window watching the street creatures as you indulge your taste buds.
