Well let’s just say this place is a little unusual. Kinda like a diner from a b rated horror flick. The people were friendly… a small family owned Mexican American restaurant. The food was ok. Typical breakfast grub. Sausage was either freezer burned or nuked. Coffee was ehh. The manager/owner was in a tuxedo shirt and bow tie which was a little odd. Don’t think we would do this again. Didn’t feel like we totally wasted our money though but I’m pretty easy going. Not sure how it reviewed so high… Perhaps the reviews were padded by friends and family

fantastic food! service was great. this is so far my favorite breakfast play in the area. I’m a southern boy and this is the first time in years short of doing it myself that I’ve had grits done properly. home fries and breakfast burrito were spot on! We will def be back.

I had brunch here on a recent visit to Williamsburg. I wish I had gone any place else. In the interest of saying something nice, I will state that the service was fine. The food, not so much. I ordered the buckwheat pancakes topped with apples and a side of scrambled eggs. My partner got the classic pancakes. My pancakes were bland and very heavy(at least they were better for me, being made from buckwheat flour). The apples were a nice addition and actually saved me from a miserable dining experience. My side of scrambled eggs was served cold. The pancake syrup seemed to have been thinned down with water. My partner’s pancakes were also bland, although he said they had a nice texture. If you’re looking for pancakes or waffles, skip this place and go somewhere else. This was a huge disappointment, especially considering the high rating. Guess the other reviewers had inhaled too much of the smoke off the griddle.

Same as the great reviews. With so many pancake houses to choose from go here! Great staff and service was quick and friendly. Food did not disappoint. Pecan pancakes! Chorizo con huevos! Both great and authentic.

With all the breakfast places in town, we were drawn to this one because of its Hispanic influence. It’s just different enough to make it interesting! The servers are super nice. The food is tasty. The coffee, not so much; but hey, so it’s diner coffee and not Colombian, that’s the usual and it’s fine. Good prices. We liked it so much we went back again within the same week. Solid little place.

Service was very good. The food was good. A little more than I thought I should pay. It’s a place where you get pancakes or tacos. Yes, tacos. Not bad but not a home style kitchen.

Wanting something different for breakfast this morning, we jumped in the car and just drove. I am happy that we ended up here! Abundant parking and we were seated immediately. I ordered the chorizo con huevos, which came with refried beans and homefries. It was delish, especially topped with salsa, which I had to ask for. My fiancé ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffles were AMAZING, fresh and perfect, topped with powdered sugar and butter. The chicken was ok, it was fried a little hard, but was tasty. For the prices and the selection alone we will be back for sure! Note: I did not use them, but I was advised that the bathrooms are the best ever here lol! Like home!

I’m not sure how this restaurant received 4 stars, but it should not have. First it’s a small open griddle restaurant and the AC was on North Pole! I had the coffee which was bitter tasting as if they were using old filters. My wife had the chicken and waffles, the skin on the chicken was fried way too hard!(«Breaded with cement!») I had the breakfast sampler which was eh, ok. Don’t plan to give them a second chance, we were not pleased at all.

It was a party of two for our trip. We weren’t Wburg natives but wanted to try one of the breakfast/pancakes spots that were seemingly abundant in the area. We used Unilocal and narrowed it to Southern Pancakes and Waffles and Smokey Griddle. We ended up choosing Smokey Griddle because of the Unilocal reviews and because it seemed low key and we were in the mood for a not so busy morning. The place from the outside looked empty and old and not a first choice place from appearance but the food did it well. There were about 5 other tables along with us on this Friday morning. I wanted to try chicken and waffles as I never had it before. We also tried the Smokey sausage combo and another dish which I can’t remember the name to. After 15 minutes the food arrived nice and hot. Their sausage gravy was amazing compared to other sausage gravies I’ve had before and their home fries were also soft and delicious. The fried chicken I had was very tasteful and not discomforting at all at the 9AM hour. waffles were also great. We also tried their chocolate chip pancakes and they were tasty, fluffly, and fulfilling. The environment is quaint and old styled type of diner. The staff was extremely welcoming, nice, and just sweet people. If you’re expecting a fancy like breakfast environment. Don’t go here. This place would make those who are just looking for great food wonderful service happy enough. I am not a breakfast person but I thoroughly enjoyed this place and do not regret going here. The only thing I would not say I enjoyed was their orange juice. It was most likely concentrated but whatever. The food was my focus. I noticed their not being a menu listed so sorry Unilocalers. Forgot to get a shot of it for you but prices were very reasonable. Dishes ranged from 6 $ to 15 $. They have a lunch menu as well starting at 11am. Overall, will go back to them when I am in a breakfast mood!

We read several reviews before we selected this breakfast establishment and thought that we were in for something local and delicious. We were in for an unpleasant surprise. My sons ordered pancakes and they were not only overlooked but they reminded me of Bisquick. My egg omelet was over cooked and the«sauce» was jarred salsa. The waitress forgot to bring us napkins and water too. Definitely not going to recommend this breakfast location to anyone!

The pancakes i had this morning were lovely! Service was great as well. The only complaint or whole family had was that my brothers portion was a little small. It was also a cute little store! Reminded me of a mom and pop store back home.

I went her during our vacation. It was our last meal before we left and I can definitely say we were left wanting. Not my favorite memory or meal. Everything thing was okay buy not great or even very good. It was nice and clean and friendly but the food was bland and dry. I suggest looking at the special menu above the breakfast bar area for more selection. My kids really loved the pancakes with chocolate chips, but the adults were disappointed based off of the previous reviews of 4 stars.

We decided on this place based solely on the parking lot not being empty. Best Damn food decision thus far. This food was Indeed fresh and flavorful. My wife is finicky about going to unfamiliar places and she loved it. Great food great prices. We will return because we are here for a week.

Wow — I took my son here for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised! Delicious«traditional» breakfast foods + great addition of Central American fare(nice to appeal to both me and my son simultaneously). We don’t typically go out to breakfast, but I will be now. Also glad to see the prices were excellent and they do lunch, so I will be back. Service was great and the restaurant was clean!

Food is amazing and the service was even better. Best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. I had chorizo con huevos and it was better than Ive ever had in Mexico or Cali.

We are from Texas and this place was beyond delicious. It reminds of the Tex Mex back home. I would eat here everyday if I could while on vacation. Had the chorizo con huevos and it was so full of flavor. The people were super friendly too. Thanks fellow help members for recommending this place.
