I’m admittedly biased as a WFU grad but I also feel like that gives me lots of experience to write about the LJVM. WFU has recently purchased the Joel and is working to «Wake-ify» the facility. So far this has meant signage and paint but those are good early additions. As far as basketball venues are concerned, the sightlines are great from almost every seat. Parking is convenient as well. The product on the court varies but if you have children, the entertainment that happens during time-outs will keep them engaged(if the game doesn’t). Concessions are pretty typical but with some good variety(Bojangles, Pizza, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Ice Cream, etc). Expect standard(high) concession prices. My best advice is to eat before coming to an event if you don’t want to spend $ 10/person. I’ve been here for concerts, performances, and dances as well and really enjoyed them all.

I saw a WF basketball game here. This is my second game and both were fun. This time around we had better seats which made the experience better. They have tons of bathrooms which is nice. They have a few local vendors mixed with some national chains. I usually get blue ridge ice cream. They make a special Oreo flavor for Wake games. The staff is very friendly and the ushers are helpful. I tried the fried pickles. They were good for sports event food since they were freshly fried. Overall it was a really fun experience and i would go to more games in the future.

If you have any doubt why the tuition as Wake Forest is so high, look no farther than their sports facilities — they are pretty awesome. LJVM Arena(not the monstrosity that is the venue name here) is quite possibly the equal of many NBA arenas, and we’re talking a college facility. Did it cost as much? Probably not. But does it work? Absolutely. Even better is that you get a crowd that is almost always on the side of the home team and are completely in the game — make sure you check out the students at the end who really get into it while the visitors shoot their foul shots. I’m amazed anyone can make those shots with giant heads and whatnot going on behind the basket.

Memorial Coliseum Lawrence Joel Veterans is Wake Forest University sports team arena. It’s not hard to find the arena because its located off the main road. The parking for the area is $ 7 cash. I went to Memorial Coliseum to see my little brother first college basketball game. The arena is modern. There are plenty of food options in the arena. The food is a bit pricey but that’s most arenas. The regular will call is located outside the arena by the regular ticket window. The players will call is located inside of the arena at the main gate. Overall, Memorial Coliseum Lawrence Joel Veterans is a nice arena.
