Today was my first time in this place and it was delicious! I had a 10″ philly cheese steak with bacon. I definitely will be back and next time I’ll try the king cheese steak with extra meat and extra cheese.

This place is always great. Food is good and consistent. The staff is always extremely friendly and GLADTOSEE mama d back. Every time I’ve come the services is fast and I’m out pretty quick. Luis has got some mad skills on the grill. He made mine a little different with the peppered cooking with the meat. ONPOINT!!! Can’t wait to come back.

Delicious sandwiches. This branch has terrible service though. They accidentally made one of my orders wrong, I asked for a plain hoagie and they gave me a hoagie hot with everything on it. The lady gave me a terrible attitude when I asked politely if they could remake it. Love this company but if you can, go to the branch on lakeshore in Oakland.

Let’s get this straight out of the gate. These are not the real Philadelphia Philly cheesesteaks. The real deal features ribeye steak, not sirloin. If you know anything about meats, ribeye is waaaaay more tender, juicier, and tastier than sirloin. Ribeye is also more expensive than sirloin. Second. Where’s the Cheeze Whiz??? You gotta have that yello gooey goodness. Third. These cheesesteaks are super lightweight. I felt like I was handling a 7⁄11 hot dog for Pete’s sakes. Thin skinny little things. Where they tasty enough though? Not bad, a tad bland, but certainly edible. But $ 10 for a 10 inch cheesecake that feels like one ounce of food is jut not going to cut it with me. Didn’t order any fries, so I can’t comment on that. I’m afraid my first visit was my last there. Next time I wanna pay $ 10 for something more substantial… I’m going for a steak burrito at Chipotle instead. Nuff said. P. S. The staff was nice to me, that’s why my initial rating went from two to three stars.

Okay I wanted this to go well. Had high hopes for this spot and they do have great potential. But here’s the issues I ran into: 1.) I needed more meat on my sandwich. While I don’t want a ton of it, I need a bit more. 2.) It would be nice if the sweet peppers were cut down a bit thinner. They should be cooked/incorporated in the meat. When I got my sandwich, they were cold and on top of sandwich. Had to push them down into sandwich. The bread was good and soft. I liked the curly fries although I asked for regular(steak) fries. The one worker get’s a extra point for taking the time to explain the menu to me. I’d go back, but would be more specific about what I’d like on my sandwich.

The shop has lousy customer service. Will not answer the phone. They recently shortened their hours. Looks unkempt. Needs new management.

Can never go wrong here! Young lady taking my order was nice and had awesome hair. Had to go to bathroom that was clean also and I was able to check in via Unilocal as well. I usually get bacon on everything lol!!!

If you have had one cheese Steak Shop you have had them all. Very consistent in the chain. Great sandwiches and I love love love the steak fries. They have other menu items but I have never tried them. The cheesesteak is all I want.

Since moving to Oakland I have bern to this place 8 times. The philly chesse steak sandwich is bomb. The fries are good; I usually go with the curly fries. They don’t get 5 stars only because sometimes they don’t have fries. That has happened twice. Other than that, I recommend going here for a very good philly chesse steak.

This is my to go spot to go to when I am at work since its closer to my job other than going to this one spot I love in San Leandro. The cheesesteaks are good I think they have the right ratio of meat and peppers. Well at least the ones I’ve had. I’d come back if I need a cheesesteak fix if I’m not in my area.

This place has gone downhill once again. Raised prices and less meat. Look at my picture. This was one of the most pathetic cheesers I’ve had at the Cheesesteak shop. Inconsistency, soggy steak fries, and weak amounts of meat. What the hell happened to Darlene? She ran that place tight and made sure everything was kosher. And for the little tubby guy who’s got that hipster/gangster look. Stop waiting in the parking lot for a front space to open so that you can park your car there dude. I see everything muchacho… busted. Will eat at this place one more time. If it continues to go downhill, welp… Bye bye Alameda Cheesesteak shop. It’s better that I don’t spend $ 12 on lunch anyway.

I’ve had some not-so-great experiences with west coast pizza. Cracker crusts. Weird sauce. Pies that were somehow cut into 15 slices. How does that even happen? I don’t know. What I do know is that, as a result, I’ve been reluctant to try a cheesesteak since moving here from Jersey. Maybe reluctant isn’t the word — maybe the right word is «afraid.» How might California mutilate my one true love, the cheesesteak? I didn’t even want to know. But I had a burger last night, and I had a hankering for something cheesy and gross tonight. So I bit the bullet and ordered pickup from the Cheesesteak Shop. I got a King of Philly cheesesteak with onions and a side of garlic fries. The cheesesteak was… pretty solid, actually. I mean, this was definitely no Tony Boloney’s. But it was like a pretty decent Jersey pizza shop cheesesteak. The meat: bread ratio was good, the cheese was tasty, and the bread was fairly fresh. I was a little disappointed at the size, especially considering this was supposed to be the large version. But, it was filling enough. The garlic fries weren’t great. Kind of soggy, too potato-y. As a side note, garlic fries seem like the most definitively Jersey thing ever, but I’ve never even heard of them before moving here. What’s up with that? I ordered through Unilocal and it was ready for pickup after the 10 minutes it took to drive there, and the staff seemed friendly. Bonus points for that. Overall, not too bad. It might be worth trying some of their non-standard steaks. I’m really glad the cheesesteak wasn’t horrifying.

My Co-Worker had a coupon so I went. I mean who can resist free or discounted food right? The Sandwich was really good and they appear to have good customer service down pat. I over heard someone helping a patron and the way they handled themselves was great. Its good to see because taking care of customers seems to be a thing of the past for most places!

A-OK place for cheesesteaks, If I’m craving one this place does the job of satisfying my craving. I wish they came with more meat because other than the King of Philly which gives you double meat, the normal ones have skimpy meat. Don’t care much for bell peppers and mushrooms, just like plain. I like the malt vinegar on mine tho. Try the cheese fries! It’s good…

Great place to get your cheesesteak fill But eat too many, and it might kill The variety is solid and the hoagies are tasty their cheese is good, not bland or pasty Their southwest hoagie is something to eat They have BBQ sauce and onion rings, so yeah, this I’ll repeat This place is a solid Cheesesteak stop. Their southwest or western hoagie is solid as they have BBQ sauce and onion rings(which adds a great crunchy texture). Whenever I’m in the area, this place will I dine.

This place is great. I do consider myself a pro when it comes to reviewing cheesesteaks, having tried Tony Luke’s, Jim’s, and Pats while in Philly. These cheesesteaks don’t compare to the real thing, but they are still great. I have to say, this particular location impressed me. They ask if you want the peppers and onions mixed and cooked in with the meat. Very impressive. Smaller location, and the tables could use a deep cleaning but the product is outstanding.

I really liked coming here before or after studying, especially since I normally crammed for hours and greasy food sounded nice. Anyways, I haven’t been here in a while and went in with a friend a few days ago. I ordered a garlic Philly cheesesteak and was going to use the Unilocal coupon and was told they didn’t use them anymore. hm. After I got my food, my friend and I went to Starbucks to eat and she ordered a Philly chicken salad, as she eats and sifts through the lettuce she finds a DEADSPIDERORFLY in her salad. I went back and got her money and I was accused of putting it in the salad. first of all I eat here often, therefore I would never lie and put a bug in her salad. They claimed it was a brand new bag. not really sure where they get their lettuce from then. Never coming back here again.
