Kavas restaurant is my go to breakfast spot. I stay in north mountain view, so it’s right around the corner. Everything from the pancakes too the moco loco is extremely good. I Love that the serving sizes are big, if I don’t finish it I can finish it later that day.

I always go there to get the eggs Benedict and a milkshake, it’s good but not as great as I would like. Sometimes I feel like the food is a little bit old or something, it just feels a little bit off? Anyways the place is still pretty good.

I came here with a big group a few Saturday nights ago. Waitress was super nice and accommodated us by letting us combine tables. Service was really quick for being such a big group. They brought out a couple of pitchers of water so that we could replenish our own cups. My friends all seemed to really like their meals. All about the all day breakfast, and I went the breakfast route and had a reindeer sausage and egg combo. So, I actually didn’t think the portions were all that ginormous. This definitely varied, with some of the meals being quite large, with some being pretty normal sized. I felt like my breakfast was similarly sized to a lot of other diner-style breakfasts I’ve had in Anchorage. Home fries/sausage were cooked perfectly, but my scrambled eggs were a bit cold which was a bummer.

Love to eat here. I come from Hawaii and their portions are BIG, the food is good and the price is right. My favorite is the teriyaki chicken dinner with rice and mac salad. ONO!

Good food, WOW big portions — and priced pretty reasonably. The staff is nice, and the place is clean. Open 24 hours a day, I really was impressed by my chicken katsu and my fiancé’s burger. I will be back!

Being an interracial couple, we always buttheads on whether to get asian or american, and lo and behold, we found the place and who would’ve guessed, it’s in Anchorage! I believe it’s like a Samoan American fusion place and man the portions are pretty big! Just the way I like it! The place is mainly known for breakfast food but they do serve sandwiches and other random items like fried chicken and stuff. I ordered the fried rice and omg it was delicious! It was huge pile and i was thinking to myself, man no way am I going to finish this. Next thing I know, uh… where’s the rest of my food? I finished it all! If i should ever find myself in this area again, I would definitely come back here. bombdotcom. :)

Took my father here as it was his choice for breakfast. 3 stars because he was happy with his food. I personally hate annoying chitchat that’s appears to be never ending. Hence the frustration in my voice when I responded to it. I also had to ask two other servers for water and coffee refills… We did however appreciate the Togo coffee on our way out. As for my plate I had the chicken sand and salad. The bread was old, the cukes in salad were not fresh, the lettuce was browning. As for flavor of overall meal I can’t really judge since i suddenly can’t seem to really taste junk food. I personally didn’t like it but he did so thank you.

Normally when I come here the service is fast and quick with huge portions and tons of food. However despite the huge portion sizes and amazing coffee device has gotten very bad. After sitting down for over twenty minutes I had to flag a waitress down and ask to place an order as tables around us got served. Poor service, and no real response from the waitress who was supposed to be serving us. My fries and sandwich was cold, but my roommates pancakes were hot and tasty

Awesome breakfast. Omelette and pancakes!! what else could you want out of breakfast which is served ALLDAY. Oh and the omelette was the size of my calf and chock full of «goodness». I’m very happy and very full. I’ll be back– but I’d recommend being very hungry before you come. After a solid long run this place would be like heaven.

It was just OK! We walked in and noticed floor was dirty and one of the servers had food stains on his shirt; however, our server was really friendly. I had to admit that the food portion size was generous. The burger patty on the loco moco was dry and my wife didn’t like the chicken fried steak. Prices on the menu is a tad more compare to IHOP and village inn. This place reminds me of a truck stop. Would I go back and try this place again? Probably not.

BAM, 5STARS! Good service, BIG portions, good food. Kava’s is a family owned breakfast spot that has a Hawaiian influence to their dishes. They have a great selection of breakfast foods and foods you didn’t even consider to be breakfast, but now it is. Serve anything with a side of eggs and call it breakfast! This place has a great selection of breakfast RICE(which I highly recommend), pancakes, skillets, and you can’t call it Hawaiian without SPAM and loco moco. I got the breakfast rice, which was cooked with spam and eggs with a side of spam and a whole egg on top. Yeah, it was a lot, I think I almost passed out, but very delicious. I got a side of chocolate chip pancakes and my fiancée got the cajun skillet which he enjoyed a lot. He got a side of biscuit and gravy, which was really good. Flakey biscuits with warm gravy, mmm and we shared a side of grits as well. I don’t understand how two people ate that much, we couldn’t breath after but we did… If you’re ever in Anchorage and hungry, try Kava’s!

New Year’s Day lunch with family, including 19 month old child. The place was hopping, and we were seated quickly. Plenty of good-humored wait staff, which always makes the experience pleasant. I had the breakfast combo, with eggs, pancakes and bacon, cooked perfectly. My companion had biscuits and gravy and deemed them tasty. The baby ate plenty from our generous servings. Delightful diner experience. Prices fair. Looking forward to returning to order a patty melt.

The staff made a clear effort to be cheerful. I ordered the Cajun Skillet and it was very good. The pancakes that came with it were excellent. The portion was large for the price paid.

This facility has been here forever, originally a pizza hut or shakey’s? Since the fast food left, this location has seen several incarnations. The latest is Kava’s The interior is bright and cheerful is a little threadbare. We went for breakfast. A great assortment of choices on the menu, prices reasonable. I had the reindeer sausage omelet. Ample portion chock full of reindeer sausage. Yum Yum Yum. My partner in crime had a chicken fried steak. Again large and tasty. The coffee, not great but drinkable. All in all a decent place. I’ll try it again in the future.

You better be hungry when you go here. OMG! The portions are huge! Being a Pacific Islander, Kava’s is right up my alley. I got the fried rice which I barely put a dent in. A mound of steamy deliciousness with a couple of slices of fried SPAM. Loved it, but took about 80% of it home with me to enjoy later. Most of the breakfast entrees come with either pancakes or toast. I asked if I could get the«farmer’s pancakes» instead which is really a Hawaiian style crêpe. Growing up, we called these«lina lina pancakes». Slather with butter, roll into a tube, and enjoy. Very ono! Great island style food! Next time, I’m bringing poi.

This is an American Samoa run restaurant. If you have breakfast at a restaurant here in Anchorage you need to go here. Do not be shy! order the breakfast fried rice or one of the breakfast sandwiches. Samoans are large people, these portions are HUGE! just about everything here is sharable. if the thought of spam n eggs makes u drool, go here for sure! if not, pay em a visit and your life may never be the same again! Also prices here are very affordable!

Wow, I’m surprised this place isn’t more talked about in the Anchorage breakfast scene! Describing this place in two words: Hawaiian Diner. It’s one of the most unique eateries in Anchorage. I’ve only been here twice, but both times the food was: — Massively portioned — Massively tasty Portions: they are huge. I have a behemoth of an appetite, and I need a box. Tasty: this place probably has some of the best bacon in town. I’m not sure what exactly about it makes it so good, but the total package really whoops some of the«sad bacon» that seems to be so present in the A-N-C. Also, you can get pancakes as a side with just about anything. I love that. I have loved that since I was just a punk highschool kid going to Village Inn at 3am, drinking coffee, and thinking I was soOOOOoooo kewl. Oh, and if you get the pancakes farm style… they are more like CREPES! They are delicious, I highly recommend them. I’ve also gotten a «skillet» here(something else I ate as a young Village Inn patron). Skillets are something large swaths of the US do not understand. «Wut. Is that like, an iron pan?» It’s kind of like a breakfast casserole… or perhaps more like a «scramble» laid down a bet of tasty potatoes. Regardless of what a «skillet» technically is, they have them here. They are big. They are delicious. Only thing keeping this place from 4 stars is that the coffee is pretty mediocre. And the service can be a little lackadaisical, even when there aren’t many folks in here.

I have tried this place twice. It is a casual ordinary breakfast place. Nothing spectacular. Fruit used on pancakes is out of a can. It fills the void– is good for a group, has a large menu, and is not pricey. For me it is not memorable. Equal or less than Denny’s. The Macadamia Pancakes DO sound interesting… but I’m thinking it will be too much sugary sweetness. but if I find myself her again… I will test em’
