First time in Aspen, in the mood for Mexican food. Found Su Casa online and was impressed by the food and service. We were greeted at the door by a friendly gentleman who let us pick any table we wanted. The waitress was also friendly and very attentive. Drinks arrived in timely fashion, as did the delicious chimichangas(definitely recommend!). The waitress regularly checked on us to ensure that our meal was meeting our expectations. The gentleman that sat us also came back to check in and see how our experience was. Would certainly return to Su Casa next time we are in town!

We read the positive reviews for Su Casa and I must say, I just don’t get it. We were directed to this place as the only Mexican restaurant in Aspen. We live in Denver and eat Mexican fare frequently. I don’t know if we experienced an end of season situation, or a bad day for the restaurant, or we simply have higher standards because we have access to such good Mexican food in Denver. This place was among the worst Mexican restaurants I’ve ever visited. We were seated quickly but it took ages for the food to arrive after we ordered. And it was darned near inedible. The meat in my tacos was burned and dry. The guacamole was flavorless and the salsa was so-so. All of the food was cold. I can’t imagine ever returning or suggesting this place to anyone. Actually, my overriding thought after this visit is that there is a great opportunity for a strong new Mexican restaurant in town if this is all there currently is. Sorry, folks!

Yummy!!! Prices are decent and the house margaritas are killer. Great location and atmosphere. The place was packed so we sat at the bar. The bartender was nice and very efficient. We will go back next time we are in Aspen :)

Su Casa(our favourite Mexican restaurant in Aspen) is located hidden down a flight of stairs in the Center of town on Hyman Avenue. It is a hip, fun and popular Mexican restaurant in Aspen with a great ambiance. The restaurant is small and intimate and has(in our opinion) a modern upscale feeling to it as a result of their use of rich colours and cool interior design. When you walk in the door(especially after a long, hard day of skiing) you have an instant feeling of warmth and comfort. The food is delicious(we like to order several tacos to share with grilled chicken, pork and steak — which is a healthy option) paired with Margaritas, which are as good as the White House Tavern Margaritas. They also have delicious homemade Guacamole, enchiladas and Chili Rellenos. Front guys, Dustin and John(who is a musician and avid skier) are always ready to greet guests in a warm and friendly manner. We highly recommend Su Casa for fun night out at a great price.

No Bueno. I guess they are moving from the lunch to dinner service. They are cleaning up around me. Dropping forks and knifes on the floor next to me while I am trying to eat. I’m reading the newspaper, she just turned all the lights down to nightclub. came in to Bossa Nova tunes playing. She just abruptly turned that off and wacked on the Bön Marley excuse me while I light my spliff. It’s almost like I am on a candid camera show, am I? This owner lady clearly doesn’t give a damn about me being here. Think she means well, maybe just clueless? The food is okay and well priced for Aspen. Tacos have been consistently good, nothing groundbreaking. The owner should probably not be allowed in the front of house. The other staff are EXCELLENT, very friendly. Standout good actually. I want to make a point about how great the bartenders and staff are. It’s the only decently priced Mexican like place in town. She just asked me if the food is okay and I said yes thanks, she replied okay can you pay now I need to do my reports… Are you serious. Do not let this women out front.

Wonderful place. Excellent food and courteous staff. We had a baby and a stroller and they went out of their way to help us. Best Mexican in Aspen

The bartender is awesome. She was totally slammed because of X Games being in town but we would have never know. Our drinks were never empty and our food was delicious. She even gave us a bottle of their homemade habanero oil to take home with us. The tacos are a must have. You will not be disappointed!

I mean, is this place hands down the best? No, but let’s face it we’re in Aspen so the bar is pretty freakin high! For a decent place with good Mexican I would highly recommend. It’s tucked away but still in the heart of Aspen. The décor is lacking a bit, think 90’s Mexican! It was pretty easy to get a table at dinner rush but still full and bustling with energy. The drinks were great, I had a couple fresh squeezed top shelf margs which fit the bill. Their chips and homemade salsa was excellent for starts. I had the Fajita burrito which I would say was top notch and appropriately portioned so I left feeling satisfied vs packed full. I tried a bit of the chili reojnos and the crunch underneath the sauce was perfect! I would highly suggest stopping by for a fair priced, quality Mexican dinner in Aspen!

Went with friends for lunch today. I really liked my enchiladas and my friends really enjoyed their street tacos. The menu has a lot of items a little pricey but it is Aspen. We only got sodas so I can’t comment on the margaritas. The only negative was that they did charge us $ 11 for chips salsa and a side of guacamole I think chips and salsa should be free at the table. Cute inside, clean and service was good.

The staff here was just lovely on an even lovelier Aspen day. With a baby in a stroller, they were super accommodating to the allowing us to choose the table of our liking on their charming patio. Plus — there’s an elevator in case the stairs down to their restaurant don’t suffice. And just as fast we sat down, our food was served. Fast service matched with friendliness is always a plus in my book. The Yucatan and Mango fish tacos were delish and bursting with flavor and even served with a substantial variation of sauces to accompany the robust flavors. Based on my friend’s not-so-happy choice to order the fajita salad, I figure the tacos(you order a la carte) are your best bet at this Mexican eatery. It’s certainly not a Tex-Mex place with melted cheese or green chile smothered on everything, yet more of a fresh, Baja style menu that hits the spot on a sunny, patio-perfect day!

This was a great find. I had the Mexican bowl which was nice and friendly for a vegetarian. The prices are also very reasonable for Aspen. Give it a try!

This is pretty nice but humble place to have a meal(out of the way location, average décor and menu) but as i said, not too bad. My vegan tacos had a slightly burnt taste taste– that was the main flavor i got. So i wasnt too excited about that. But the guac, chips, and salsa appetizer was very good. I especially liked the green hot sauce they provided on the table. Prices are ok too, considering how expensive Aspen is. Our service was good too and the server very nice. I think it was worth the try but i don’t think i would return here again.

Food was very average and our bartender server was aloof if not rude. Very frustrating experience for girl just trying to get her mexi on.

Looking for an affordable meal in Aspen? Come here. At first, the $ 15 for 2 tacos menu price made us doubtful, and another reviewer mentioned chips and salsa aren’t free. Don’t stress: the first(big!) basket of chips and salsa is complementary, and after having a combo that included a small taco, I think that $ 15 price tag for 2 larger ones may very well be worth it. The flavors are good and fresh, and the portions are large. We will definitely be back!

So delicious! I tried three different tacos and they were all sublime! We also ordered the guacamole(made fresh daily — so good) and a mild queso. The queso was different, lots of green chilies, which took a little warming up to, but in the end I decided I really liked it. The fresh lime margarita was superb; lightly sweet, very fresh and the right amount of alcohol. The service was very friendly and attentive. Such a great experience. also, they have a nice kids menu.

It wasn’t great but it wasn’t the worst either. The ladies here were very friendly, but all but one of them were kind of oblivious to our needs. The food was just ok — it tasted alright and it certainly filled us up. Overall the meal would be ok, some really tasty stuff in it but the rest was kind of bland. The little homemade salsa cart was neat, 5 different kinds of salsa to try — I like the Verde the best. Not particularly spicy but great flavor. The horchata was really good too.

The way to do Su Casa is to take advantage of their TaQueria & TeQuila Bar menu. They have about fifteen tacos between $ 2-$ 4 to fit every flavor variety. The chips and salsa, like many have noted, is not complementary as many have noted and honestly wasn’t anything special(cold chips and house salsa was average). However, when you order your meal they do bring a basket of about six different hot sauces that are fun to play with. I definitely wanted to test out their tacos and our waitress recommended the al pastor as a customer favorite and I also chose the yucatan shrimp taco. They were served quickly and were beautifully arranged with a spicy salsa on the side. I thought the shrimp out shone the al pastor with a delicious cabbage slaw and a ridiculously good sauce but both were delicious. Our waitress was to the point, she gave us suggestions when asked but wasn’t overly friendly. I also ordered the chili margarita which was recommended and really enjoyed it. It had a chili flavor without being overly hot(I love spicy) and definitely felt like it was an $ 11 value because it was singing of strong tequila, I only wish it had had more citrus flavor. I also tried my sisters burrito but wouldn’t recommend it, compared to the tacos the flavors were not all there and it wasn’t cooked enough for the cheese to melt. I would venture back to Su Casa for a late night snack, an evening of appetizer hopping, or a light dinner off of their taco/cocktail menu. Two tacos and a margarita left me feeling satisfied and pleasantly surprised!

This is my worst review. By far one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. The service was terrible. Our server hardly acknowledged us and the food was awful. They also messed up our meals My salad was hardly anything you would recognize as a salad. The beets, carrots, and jicama were really dry and waxy in texture. The dressing was awful as well. My husband’s dish(playa plate) was worse than your typical chain restaurant. His shrimp taco tasted like it had watered down ketchup based sauce in it. Had our service been better I might have given them an additional star, but that’s about it.

After a long day of whitewater rafting, nothing warms the belly like some fresh Mexican food. Located downstairs next to the Wild Fig, Su Casa offers a comfortable mix of recognizable Mexican cuisine and introduces enjoyable savory flavors that make the already enjoyable days in Aspen even more relaxing. Recommendations include the ceviche, a quesadilla, the bean and cheese dip, and any quesadilla. A minor issue I encountered was with my drink order. I ordered the Verde Margarita which was not spicy at all and lacked jalapeño flavor all together. But the server quickly remedied any problems and brought out a spicy michelada to substitute.
