good bubble tea? in austin? Please just take my money. I have no complaints. Kinda smells like a restroom in here.

I’m easy to please. All I need is(1) no credit card minimum,(2) a well-made coffee milk tea or passionfruit green/black tea,(3) the right texture of bubbles, and(4) prompt service. In fact, I’ve already gotten used to the credit card minimum at all the other KFTs, so this place’s lack of that policy was a bonus. Plus, it took like 2 months before the Dallas KFT got their coffee items up, whereas this one had it right away. Maybe that’s why I’m giving this one a five star. I’ve tried KFT in NYC, Houston, Dallas… and I like that the quality is all similar, so you know what you’re going to get. As of the end of January 2016, so far so good, KFT. Warning: I did try a friend’s regular milk tea and it was atrocious. I think they don’t sweeten it by default. The egg(?) pudding was also bad. But I don’t order those things because I don’t like them in the first place, so as far as I’m concerned, this place is awesome.

Went to KungFu Tea because I’ve been to the one in Houston & it’s pretty amazing over there. Kungfu Tea does not have normal parking so find meter parking or garage parking which they will validate. It’s set right in the university towers building so it’s pretty nice & spacious. For most boba places, it’s pretty crowded and crammed. You can definitely have a large group come in or study inside there. So environment is perfect. Downside: it’s really expensive. Large milk tea with tapioca & large coffee milk tea with tapioca came out to $ 10.01?!? They also have a $ 10 minimum on credit cards): like people have cash in the current age… The guy cashier was also not very peasant at all and talking to another customer while we were ordering… I guess his friend… and he wasn’t very patient at all. The milk tea was just alright and the coffee milk tea had more milk than coffee. So yeah too much hype for a big chain boba place…

Definitely agree that this is one of the better bubble tea places where their milk tea actually tastes as milk tea should. I’ve been to their chain in Houston and New York, and I’m not sure if it was because I went on a busy day when they had their BOGO offer, but the drink I had in Houston seemed to taste better. I love their open atmosphere and all the windows they have, which makes it a great place to sit and talk. In addition, I really liked the fact that it was clean, which makes it all the different from the bubble tea places on the drag. The biggest and only drawback is that it is soooo expensive for a drink. I don’t think that a milk tea with tapioca should ever cost so much. A large milk tea with tapioca was about $ 5-$ 6. The only reason it was worth getting was because of the BOGO offer they had during their grand opening weekend. Their drinks are definitely quality, and their tapioca tastes chewier and sweeter than any boba place in Austin, just not sure if that is worth the price tag.

I first tried Kung Fu tea in Houston because my friends and everyone seemed to make a big deal about it. Unfortunately I didn’t like their original milk tea or the red bean slush that I got. I decided to try it out again since they opened up a store in Austin. I got the Oreo milk tea this time because that’s what my friend in Houston gets every time and recommended but when I got it, it looked different than the one I saw in Houston and I definitely didn’t like the taste. My fiancé got the taro milk tea which he liked but I didn’t like it compared to other tapioca places. I really tried to like this place but been disappointed with all the drinks I’ve tried so far… Not sure if I’m going to continue going back to try more drinks.

Enjoyable tea with a lot of variety, and there’s a lot of space to sit with friends or do work. Hot, cold, with pudding, or with tapioca, there are a lot of customization options on the tea. This being Austin(though I think this is a chain) there are even vegan milk teas. It’s gets a bit pricy to customize on top of the drink’s price, but since this is a tea house the more expensive options are still under $ 6.50ish with a couple additions. My one pet peeve: there’s no snacks. I would love to grab some rice or food while I’m here, but this is a tea house and that’s what they focus on.

Kung Fu Tea is probably the best place to get boba nearby, but definitely not the best tea ever. I came for the special buy-one-get-one, and decided to try the«Red Wow Milk» because I love red bean. But it was basically just milk, boba, and red bean… nothing too special. I also tried the strawberry lemon green tea, which was really good, and very tart. I liked it a lot! The passion fruit green tea is also decent. What I like about Kung Fu Tea is that it’s closer to me than TapHouse or Coco’s, and tastes better, with more customization on your drinks such as sweetness, and that it feels soo much more clean. I’ll definitely be back again when I’m craving boba!

Alright maybe I was a little too excited when they first opened. lol I’m still a fan… but probably would only get the Oolong Milk Tea; if you’re wanting milk tea that tastes close to the ones in Taiwan, Oolong is the one. Their Kung Fu milk tea is… watered down. I can see people getting excited from the hype and then being disappointed by this drink. The Wow milk(lactose free milk with either mung bean or red bean) is interesting… not sure what it is or why it exists. Final thoughts, Kung Fu is still the best milk tea place on campus but I would only suggest you get the Oolong Milk Tea(I can’t speak for the fruity drinks).

This place is like heaven on earth. Drinks can be a little sweeter than usual, however you may customize basically every component to your liking. It’s more spacious than any of the other tapioca places, so you’ll feel more comfortable to lounge/study or whatever. They also play some good music!!! Lastly, I’ve seen some of the reviews about how drinks were messed up. Even though I would hate for my drink to be not made correctly, I’ll give the workers some slack because they probably just started and still learning. I love Kung Fu Tea, I feel like I’m there everyday!

The place is clean and they have plenty of seats. However, I ordered a milk tea and they messed that up… How do you mess up on the most basic drink? Without boba, too. It was bitter and not sweet at all so I asked if they could fix it and make it again and the worker said they made it with regular sweetness but could add sugar to it. I mean, yes that fixes the problem but can you not just make a fresh drink? Because at the end of the day, it still tasted bad. So they added some sugar and gave it back but it barely made a difference. I ended up throwing it away. My friend got their taro milk tea which was sweet enough, but it barely tasted like taro so. Disappointed in this kung fu tea because I’ve been to other locations before and they were perfectly fine. May be back to give them another shot in a few weeks or so

Woot, best boba in Austin at the moment(Sorry teapioca, but your new shakers just don’t cut it). Yes, its a chain but if there’s one thing to like about chains is that they’re darn consistent, and consistently good is fine by me. The place feels very Austin, very kung fu tea at the same time. The signs are in Chinese! Good amount of seating and well lit. Bit noisy with all the people who pack the place. My go to drinks are Oolong milk tea and taro milk green tea, both less ice, less sugar. Yep, you can customize the drink levels! The bubbles here are always bouncy and slightly chewy, which is perfect. My only gripes? It’s a bit on the pricey side for boba. Not used to paying this much compared to the other shops around town. And the menu seems a bit limited — its not a problem if you tend to only order a few different drinks but seems like your flavor choices are relatively chained down. But hey, with oolong and green tea this good, who cares?

By far my favorite green milk tea place and now they’re finally in Austin! Check this place out cause it doesn’t disappoint. I’m addicted and this location is great! Pricing is about the the same as most milk tea places, but flavors are on point. They do honey boba which I like a lot more. I’ve tried a couple of their drinks but I recommend the green milk tea! Reason why I like this place: lots of seating, you can customize ice levels and sweetness levels, and great tea! Also, for those who drive here parking is free in the tower’s parking garage! Get it validated inside! Go go go!!!

I don’t think there is another tea place in Austin that’s better than KFT. Tea Haus is nice, compared to the mediocre ones on Guadalupe.(you know which ones I am talking about… cough cough). But personally I think it stands no chance against KFT if they open side-by-side. My history of drinking(milk)tea is at least 10 years, so guess I can say a thing or two about tea. Their tea is consistent and not bitter, which could be because of a fixed formula and careful handling. Their bubbles(tapioca) are sweet by themselves and chewy. I can even taste a sense of honey! Their hot green milk tea is amazing, not sure how to describe the greatness in words. Definitely give it a try while the weather is still not sizzling hot yet. The space is really nicely modeled. Just a great atmosphere for some board games, conversation, or friends to hang out. I will plan on studying there at night since the drinks keep me awake and efficient at school work. Parking tip: don’t park in front of Sushi-nichi. You will get booted! Park in the garage on 23rd and come in from KFT’s back entrance. They have 1 hour parking validation, so definitely no need to risk it. We all know how much it hurts when your car is booted or towed. @@

Growing up in Austin and the north Austin area, there hasn’t really been a great boba place besides Tea Haus that I’ve loved. Then along came this KFT. All my Houston friends hyped it up for me, and personally it lived up to the hype. I got the taro milk tea my first time, and the jasmine milk tea my second time. Both were soso delicious! KFT is pretty pricey compared to other boba places, but I feel like it’s a good treat. The pearls are especially chewy, which I like. Plus, I appreciate how you can customize the level of sweetness and amount of ice because I like to tone my drinks down to 50 or 75% sweetness most of the time. This new location is dangerously close to the apartment I’ll be moving into next year, so I forsee a LOT of KFT in my future. The first time I went was with a friend and the shop had not officially opened yet so there were adjusted hours. We came early for even the adjusted hours by 15 minutes and the employee working let us come inside anyways and let us try some of the jelly additions for free while we waited on the tea to be ready!

I liked all the teas that I’ve gotten at Kung Fu Tea locations I’ve been to. I got the lychee punch this time I went. It tastes like lychee juice with bits of actually lychee pieces at the bottom. The only thing I was disappointed at was that there weren’t as much lychee jellies in this drink than the ones I’ve gotten at the Dallas location. Besides that, I think the atmosphere is really nice for students to go to for them to chill or study!

I felt like I bought an Abercrombie & Fitch white T-shirt. Heavy price tag due to the brand but for something obtainable at another establishment at a better value. But in the end, it’s just a T-shirt. I had the KF milk tea with pearls. The milk tea didn’t blow me away. Some people told me that it was too sweet(maybe in Houston), but to me it was not too sweet at all. The boba had a good chewy consistency and had a slightly sweet taste as well which I enjoyed. I also tried my friend’s taro milk tea… which didn’t really taste like taro at all! The reason I was underwhelmed is because everyone hyped this place so much… yet after I tasted their milk tea, I didn’t feel eager to return to pay for a more expensive drink than I could get from say Tap or Coco’s. Maybe their other drinks are better? I do like the ambience here and it is rather spacious!

Clean space, quick service, nice servers. Don’t get the coconut milk tea… much regret. It was not good; there was a graininess to it that was probably bc of the coconut. I like my milk teas smooth. I ordered the green milk tea soon after. Much better. The boba here is good, kind of sweet. the music one of the staff plays is good. It gives the space a friendlier vibe. I wish they had punch cards. The fact that they don’t have one deters me from going as often as I would like to. I want my purchases to work toward something if I’m going to go so often. If they added honey milk to their menu, that’d be super.

What a dangerous location! Lots of good things going on on 24th… Kung Fu, Sushi Nichii, and eventually Little Sheep Hot Pot? What is this! Chinatown? Kung Fu will definitely be a hot spot for college kids once school starts, it’s pretty spacious. I love Kung Fu and their bubbles. I ordered my usual KF Milk Tea with bubbles and with just my luck… they forgot my order -.- There were what? 4 people there? I thought I was being smart by coming before the college crowd comes back from the holidays but they still messed up. Guess they’re still learning. Oh well, I still love their honey boba! My friend got the mango green tea and apparently it comes with mango jelly so don’t be surprised(or read the menu lol)! Drinks weren’t very sweet which I guess can be a good thing. Overall I think it tastes just like the Houston location so two thumbs up. OH and there’s no $ 10 minimum cause… what kind of college student carries around cash? Am I right?

I would consider myself as a milk tea aficionado, once drank 8 cups of milk tea in San Francisco because liquids were not allowed through security check at SFO(bought so many because it 30 cents each). I order regular milk tea without boba regular sweetness, it reminded me of Sno Monsters, too sweet. I know you can choose the sweetness level, I figured regular should be fine but it was like diabetes in a cup. It’s not terrible, just mediocre. The interior is open and clean unlike the notoriously dirty tap house. You’re not going to find parking at the store front unless you’re feeling adventurous and park in neighboring business’ lots. They do have comped 1 hour parking at UT Towers garage, but it’s still a 5 – 10 min walk with all the construction.

I learned earlier this year that Kung Fu Tea was coming to Austin, and I have been looking forward to trying it since.(I often frequent Houston’s Chinatown location) That said, I was so happy today when I saw that it is now open in West Campus. There has yet to be an official grand opening, so the winter hours are currently limited from 2 – 8PM, and as of now, it’s cash only. I decided to try out my go-to KF Oolong Milk Tea. It did not disappoint! You have the option of choosing between a medium or large sized cup, adjusting the sweetness level to your liking and indicating how much ice you prefer. There are MANY bubble tea venues near the UT campus, so why KFT? Their quality is consistent and they offer a range of classic tea and smoothie flavors you won’t be able to find at CoCo’s, Tap House or Momoko.(Not that I don’t enjoy teas from these other establishments) The space is also student/study friendly with couches and long tables that encourage you to stay. I will definitely be visiting again soon!
