Was disappointed tonight. First time here since they changed up the menu. Prices went up and I didn’t get as much meat like I used to and they changed the tzatziki sauce. Maybe it’s more authentic but I liked the sauce they had before. Don’t think I will be back.

Ordered the lg schwarma plate to go and it seemed like a small plate. For $ 13.99 I expected more, especially compared to how much I got before.

Growing up in the Bay Area I’m used to good Mediterranean food. Flame and skewers is the some of the best that I have had away from the bay. When eating by myself I typically get the beef shawarma but when I go with my girlfriend we get the beef kabob plate with rice and a salad. It also includes a pita with hummus, all really good. The portions are large as well so we are able to split one plate and we walk out full. My recommendation is that you eat in. The to go portions aren’t near the take out portions. They also have crushed ice and really good iced tea. Always happy when I leave this establishment. Service is good at this location not so much at the other. I’ll take the time to drive to the California location. Oh and they have little yellow peppers that I really like as well. Good food!

Tried this place for the first time today. The staff was very friendly and helped me decide what to try. I got the shawarma half chicken, half beef sandwich with rice. It was delicious! Can’t wait to go again!

This is my favorite place to eat for a pwo meal. I always order the chicken shawarma and it always hits the spot. The serving is pretty huge and can last me for another meal. I’ve taken my family here before and they really enjoyed the food. I will have to come back and try their kabobs. Verdict: As what Arnie say’s, «I’ll be back!»

Going with this location every time. I order my usual, chicken shawarma bowl, and I’m never disappointed. The bowl consist of garbanzo beans, chicken, seasoned rice, chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, red onion, & cilantro. It’s a healthy dish that also fills up the stomach. Price is also reasonable.(Ask for the red hot sauce on the side)

Flame and Skewers is a tasty Mediterranean restaurant at affordable prices. They offer the best by always providing fresh veggies and delicious sauces. My personal favorite is the mixed kebab plate that includes chicken and beef along with the standard hummus and pita bread. Their hot sauce is also spectacular. The décor is that of a franchise feel but it also provides the quickness and ease that a fast food restaurant provides. Ordering food is the only drawback as they require you to queue, often in a long line, to then choose your meal. It feels rather impersonal and detached but perhaps this helps them get the food out faster. Bottomless drinks always included, I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for Mediterranean food.

I am officially addicted to this place! I can’t get enough of their Chicken shawarma bowl. Although it took me several times before I’ve realized how much I really like it. Its fresh and so light to eat. I’m getting my protein and greens all in one bowl. How great and convenient is that right? The pickles and bell peppers go great with it. Add some hot sauce and you’re good to go. Service can be extremely slow. I think I’ve waited longer than 15 minutes once on a not so busy day, but that doesn’t happen too often. It’s always one of my top choices for lunch.

Food was amazing. As always. But the wait and service was absolutely horrible. It was a Friday night, but there were only about 6 customers in the restaurant. Maybe less. The girls standing at the counter were chatting and did not even acknowledge that I was standing at the counter for minutes, waiting to order. Her back was to me, but the two other girls facing me could obviously see me. After I ordered, it took more than 20 minutes to get my plate. There weren’t more than 10 people in the store and I could see people getting served who had come in after me. My biggest issue is the service. The girls are so rude and spend most of their time chatting about personal issues, instead of doing their job.

So good! So many different flavors, textures, and options! I go as often as I can and have tried everything. To top off your entrée get there baklava! Gooey, sweet, pistachio goodness!

My husband and I went here yesterday after work. We liked our last experience at the 24th St. location. After we ordered, though, there was a shift change in the evening and I have never experienced worse service. The girls at the front started talking about their personal lives. Apparently, one of them was having trouble with a boy and she was sad. The girl she was working with spent a lot of the time comforting her. Who cares, as long as I get my food? Suddenly I see the cooks put my food up on the counter. I see it sitting there, but the girls continue to talk and laugh — literally doing nothing related to their job description. Food continues to pile up as the cooks finish orders. About 30 minutes after the food gets placed on the counter ready to be packaged, one of the girls notices the pile of containers and goes over. She gets ready to package our food and give it to us, finally, but before she does… She stops to talk to the cook… Then she gives us our food! Really? Our total trip there for takeout was like 45 minutes. Most of which was spent staring at my food… If that wasn’t enough, we get our order home and my husband got a piece of hair in his lamb sandwich!!! I am not kidding… Disgusting. I did not like my beef sandwich or French fries. Both sandwiches were soggy and cold after sitting there so long. I’ll never go back. After my experience with the bad food, I’m writing off both Flame and Skewers locations.

It’s. ok. The ordering part was not horrible, but not great either, somewhat unfriendly. You order, get a number and wait. and wait. But, I do like that the food is cooked to order. Just do not come if in a hurry. The kofta is delicious. The tabouli is quite good. I liked the smooth texture of the hummus but I wish it had more lemon and a lot more garlic added to it. Falafel was not bad. Hot, crunchy and bite sized with a decent dipping sauce. The pita can be whole wheat rounds instead of plain white if you ask. Liked this option. The best thing I think about this place is that you can order many side dishes, like hummus for great prices. Big portions to take home.(IE Hummus, big take out bowl = $ 4.59 or so) The kofta is most memorable and would come back just for that.(can get a side for $ 1.99) If service was there, this could be a 4 star place.

Huge portions! This is good stuff, excellent sauces and the Greek salad is fresh and on point. Perfect if coming back from Vegas and you’re starving

Wow! Simply fantastic food. Salad was great, the dressing on the salad was tangy and delicious. I had the chicken kabob plate. Typically i feel kabobs come out dry, but this was moist and flavorfull. The rice was solid, but the hummus was to die for. I highly recommend going here!

This is probably my second favorite lunch place, just below Phở Hut. I’ve been coming here for years, and I usually stick with the shwarma sandwich combo; shwarma, pickle, veggies, sauce wrapped in warm pita, with a side of crinkle-cut greasy spoon style fries and a drink for 9 bucks. I like getting an extra side of pickles and guerito peppers to burn a layer off my tongue. Lately I’ve been splitting a 3 kabob plate and extra pita with my wife, which is super good. Chicken and steak kabobs(takes about 15 minutes to make, so be patient), salad, rice, pita and hummus. We added some tabouleh and falafel and it hit the spot. My wife likes their new healthy bowl, basically a salad with shwarma meat and chick peas and also rice but she has them hold it. I’m not crazy about it but she is, so if you like lighter food you may be into it.

I travel to Bakersfield often for work and I always look forward to lunch at Flame and Skewers! It’s fresh, healthy, and delicious! I’m extremely picky about arabic food, but never have any complaints here. My favorite meal is the shawarma bowl, but replace the shawarma with chicken kabob and add hummus. Delicious, filling, and healthy! Love! I usually come here at lunch time which is their busiest time, but I’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my food. Tip: if you like your food spicy ask for a side of hot sauce!
