Umberto’s Pizzeria & Restaurant

Nothing special. Delivery took 1 ½ hours. Ordered penne Alia vodka & pizza. The penne had no prosciutto. The pizza was burnt. Going elsewhere in the future

Many options on Long Island! They do a very nice job. I had the Deep Dish — It was very good. Nice sauce!

Being from bklyn I am very snobbish when it comes to pizza! But this place is wonderful. Was so happy to find it. Used to order from the wantagh location but have regularly used the bellmore since they opened. Food is always delish :)

Outstanding pizza. Ordered a one topping pepperoni slice. Great amount of pepperoni! Had a great atmosphere and the place looked packed! $ 3 a slice.

Order their grandma pie… you definitely will NOT be disappointed! It is to die for! Small restaurant area too. Chicken Franchese and the baked clams are my personal favorite!
Located in Bellmores small main town area. Can be difficult to find parking on a weekend.

I work in a fairly large office with about 40 other people. A few of us decided to try Umbertos yesterday for lunch. My order consisted of the Hot Antipasto for ONE. When a coworker went to pick up our lunch, he was given Hot Antipasto for TWO. When he realized that they made a mistake, he let them know about it and they actually charged him for the over order that was their error! Don’t you think they should have given him the extra food at no charge if for nothing but good customer service? If I were the one picking up the order, I would’ve told them to keep the whole order. They insisted that he ordered for 2. Not a good way to get and keep customers that order lunch out practically every day. Now to the food… not too good. The stuffed mushrooms had a funky, unidentifiable stuffing and the stuffed peppers ended up in the trash because the peppers couldn’t even be cut with a knife and yes, there’s that funky stuffing again. I’ll be sticking with Oregano Joe’s on Wantagh Ave. They’ve never disappointed.

The pizza is great but the service is terrible. They are rude and obnoxious and ALWAYS screw up orders. However, the pizza and dishes are great, so I guess, it’s worth the agrrivation !!

The food is decent but the SERVICE IS LOUSY… Ambiance can be overwhelmed with obnoxious service and it ruins a good time, as my family found out. Not even the children want to return. I would say STAY AWAY the owner is not friendly and the staff at the restaurant area could not care less. Who needs to feel AGGRAVATED over pizza, salads and pasta. Yes the food is decent but not worth the inflated prices. If given the WORST SERVICE, OBNOXIOUS attitudes, decent food and TOTALLY OVERPAY, THAN THIS IS YOUR PLACE. Dining out with your family is an experience which includes pleasing your palette, atmosphere and service. This Umberto’s in Bellmore deserves a C-​, my advice is to try another place.
There are a plethora of pizzerias in the area that not only have delicious food but respectful and friendly service. Hey Umberto’s if you can not provide a friendly, respectful atmosphere and decent service for your customers than just deliver pizza to our homes.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and décor. entrée’s are all good to excellent. The baked clams are one of my favorite appetizers, and the veal rollitini and marsala are topnotch. As for the pizza I believe them to be the best by far for their Grandma and Sicilian pie’s

Umbertos is hands down the best restaurant in Bellmore and probably on the whole south shore. The grandma and deep dish pizza are the BEST I’ve ever had and the chicken parm is also the best I’ve ever had. The staff is so nice and friendly and we love coming in to see John. This place will never disappoint!

Walked in order a slice told the guy I was staying Sat down grab a soda waited a couple minutes. went up to pay and I realized that he never even put the slice in the oven. The best part is, when I told him to forget it he just said ok. Why should he be sorry, he doesn’t care it’s not his business. He is getting paid whether I eat or not. I hope the owner checks Unilocal and if he doesn’t then he will go out of business like the pizza place up the block.

BEWARE of this restaurant. I ordered 35.00 worth of food and there were no tables in the front so I proceeded to go into the waitress section and sit. The friendly waitress came over and greeted us but before she could finish the arrogant and nasty owner came running over and was being very argumentive about where we were sitting. It’s not like we just ordered a slice of pizza but we spent money and bought heroes and drinks. The owner then starts cursing me out and name calling and claiming I was drunk even though I don’t drink. Very rude! My advise to the owner is go to anger management and not run a restaurant.

Umberto’s is my new guilty pleasure :) Raimo’s Pizzeria is in my neighborhood, and don’t get me wrong they are fantastic, BUT there’s something about this place. I hop on the train just to have their grandma slice and their buffalo wings. Strangely enough I have a pet peeve for miniature buffalo wings that look like they came from a quail… However, these wings are the perfect size and there are served with buffalo sauce and blue cheese ON THE SIDE. It’s so thoughtful and so satisfying. I love these people so much I’ve thought about moving to Bellmore. My only critique would be the marinara sauce… not up to par.

Umberto’s holds its ground amongst the other very good Italian restaurants in Nassau County. I had the chance to sample three dishes. The fettuccine alfredo was creamy and soft. The fried calamari was quite good and had a nice light breading. I would have preferred for it to be a bit crispier, but it was still a good dish. I also tried the spaghetti in a meat sauce with mushrooms. It was very good on its own but I choose to add some red pepper flakes to give it a spicy element.
The dining atmosphere and the food here is pleasant. It’s a perfect place for brunch or dinner with family.

The times I’ve walked in, the guys behind the counter looked and acted tired and indifferent. I once walked out because the guy behind the counter didn’t care that I was standing there.
Pizza is ok. Not as good as other locations for sure, but if this is what you want…
Follow the crowds. Get your pizza from here! It’s not the ORIGINAL location, and that’s ok. A reasonable facsimile is ok sometimes.

The second I saw a picture of the «Rainbow Cookie Mousse Cake», I knew I had to have it. This, combined with a pizza craving, persuaded me and my boyfriend to order some pizza to go on Sunday night. I called in an order for a pizza pie and the cake for takeout but was extremely disappointed when they said they said they don’t do dessert for take-​out. I proceeded by telling the girl on the phone that we would just come in then because we really wanted to try that cake.
10 minutes later, we show up. Order the pizza and dessert. The girl realized it was me who had called inquiring about the cake. We paid for our pizza slices, drinks, and the cake. 5 minutes later someone comes over and tells us they don’t have the cake.
THEY KNEW I WAS COMING IN JUST FOR THAT CAKE!!! It didn’t occur to her to check if they even had the cake. They refunded us but still, anger.
My plain and deep-​dish slices were average. Good pizza is plentiful on Long Island so I wouldn’t come back here.

Solid place… Very consistent… I enjoy the pizza and often get take out from this location.
The eatery is quickly becoming a favorite place in the community. The food is good, better than most pizza/​restaurants… The pizza is excellent…
The place itself it beautiful and was really put together well… The out door patio is a really cool option on a nice day…

After driving around town after town after town trying to find a place that didn’t have a 40 minute wait, we finally (after the growls of my pregnant friend to her husband) ended up at Umberto’s. Well I have to say, thank God for 40 minute waits cause I had one of the best meals ever in this place.
Upon walking in I was slightly disappointed to see what appears at first glance to just be a small pizza place. Then as you get further in you can see a small dining area with about 10 tables. We were promptly seated and had a waiter greet us right away and take our drink orders. We were then given a basket of bread and amazing smelling garlic knots which were quickly devoured.
After ordering the entrees which between the four of us were chicken rollatine, veal marsala, chicken fiorentina and broccoli rabe with sausage. Absolutely the best chicken fiorentina I have ever tasted! The flavors were fresh and the chicken was cooked to perfection. Everyone else raved about their dishes as well.
It’s slightly pricey, between entrees, drinks and desserts but well worth the price.

Was really lazy today and hanging out with my boy so we decided to order delivery. Since i hate most of the pizza around me my selection was limited to this place or Domino’s. I should have stuck with Domino’s. We got a large pie and it was gross. The meatballs were decent but it was cold and the dough was really bad. Never again.

The village of Bellmore scored big when Umberto’s moved into the space that for years was home to Tommy’s Village Pizzeria. The entire building was gutted and expanded to create the new space for Umberto’s which includes a nice size dining room and an outside patio area in the back. There are booths and stools in the front to grab a quick slice.
If you have eaten at any of Umberto’s other locations then you know how great their pizza and Italian dishes taste. The menu features both traditional as well as coal oven pizzas, both delicious! Grandma pizza and deep dish are both great.
One of my favorite items is the chicken roll which is one of the best around. Meatball parm hero is very delicious. They have an excellent house salad you can get with freshly shaved mozzarella. I’ve eaten here a couple dozen times and I would not recommend the chicken wings, they are very small and were not crispy at all. Everything else I have had from pasta to rice balls was excellent!
The staff is very friendly and the service is quick.
