Stopped in to try a Crab Sando, with some Raw Oysters, and a nice cold Lagunitas Little Sumpthin. The crab sando had a garlic aoli(or you can chose cocktail sauce). This was such a tasty sandwich. I really want one right now. The oysters were so fresh the dressing they served with it was very good. A drop or 2 of tabasco and it was amazing. If you happen to be passing buy stop in and try them. You’ll enjoy it too. P. S. So sad seeing all the thousands of crab cages stacked and ready to go only to have the season canceled.

The food is the staple here, but they do have other things. Oysters, chowder, po boy sandwiches and fish and chips. The staff is cool, the customers are all self entitled idiots as far as I can tell. You can’t have it all. When you order at the counter and find your own seating people are bound to be rude to each other on some level. Seating is limited and I’m sure when things get busy this place is unbelievably hostile. Some customers can’t figure out how and where to order adding to the confusion. Maybe the establishment could do better. It’s actually not something they could control unless they change the format. The fact is people are dim. The chowder has great flavor, it’s creamy and has rich herb flavors in the base. The fish and chips are great. The fries are fresh cut and the batter is light but not greasy. The chowder is made fresh all day long.

The best seafood I have ever had. I always end up ordering like 4 different things and leave feeling stuffed. I come here every time I come to the coast and bring as many friends and family members as possible! You have to come here!

Stopped here on a whim since my boyfriend and I were in town for the night. All in all this place was not what I expected. I was expecting mediocre clam chowder and bland BBQ oysters… It was complete opposite! The food was DELICIOUS! We ordered a small cup of clam chowder, fish and chips & half order of garlic BBQ oysters. More than enough for 2 people. The employees were nice the vibe is a little bit fast pace but it is a really small place with high traffic and not a lot of space to sit for larger groups but if it’s for two then you’ll be just fine. Try this place you won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I went a couple weekends ago since the Unilocal reviews looked great. The place was really packed when we got there. Small parking lot but was able to find parking on the street. The line was out the door and took us about 10 – 15 mins just to order. When we got to the front they told us it would be about a 40 mins wait for our bbq oysters, we didn’t mind since that is the only reason we went. We did want to try the different oysters they offer but told us it would be extra charge per oyster, so we skipped that. We needed up ordering ½ dozen bbq oysters, shrimp po boy sandwich, clam chowder, a beer, and a glass of white wine. The total was pretty pricey but I don’t mind paying that for a good satisfying meal. Our clam chowder was too watering and not thick enough for a chowder but it did have flavor. The shrimp po boy was good but small and only a few shrimp which was disappointing considering the price we paid. Our oysters came out after we were done and they gave us a free one which was good. They were good as well but so small! I might give this place another chance if all I want is a snack.

Came here with my mom and sister, none of us would say the clam chowder is good, too salty, sand, and cracked shell in the soup, I’m disappointed because I was trying to show my family(from Hong Kong) what a good chowder is like… However, anyway, couldn’t and didn’t finish the soup… Forget it… Fish and chips, the fish was pathetically small, ok tasty, but… No as good as those in HMB(but, not Sam’s) Grill oysters was the only good pick… No, I’m not coming back nor recommending to anyone…

We came here on a Monday afternoon during presidents day. There was a line out the door. The cashier told us the wait for oysters was going to be 30 mins. We were shocked how long the wait was going to be but we came to try the oysters so we decided to wait. Also while ordering, the cashier informed us they ran out of pulled pork and tri tip sandwich which we were looking forward to. The food came out way faster than expected. The clam chowder was decent however it was not the best that I have had. It had a good amount of clams. The lady sitting next to us said she could make better clam chowder and advised her friend not to order it. The Oyster po boy had a nice crispiness to it. I strongly recommend ordering the oyster po boy. The raw oysters were fresh and sweet. However when eating it, there were a lot of shell pieces, and they were a lot smaller than most places I have been to. The grilled oysters with garlic butter were a little salty but yummy. We normally dislike cooked oysters, but these grilled oysters were pretty good. The sauce is tasty. The fish and chips were hot and crispy. It was great that it was not dry and really juicy. However, there were only 3 pieces. Overall this was a nice food stop on our way to bodega bay head.

Stopped by this place for Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend and his parents. All of the other places had long lines and we decided to go to this place. Here’s the low-down. We came in around 2:30 in the afternoon. Line was out the door. There’s a small parking lot with parking on both sides of the street. They grill the food inside with the oysters made outside. Seating is inside and outside at tables. We were in line for a while it seemed. The place is also pretty small so finding seats can be a challenge. It snakes around through the part of the shop that sells bait and tackle too so it can get cramped. As for the menu, it’s nearly written in colorful chalk. They have a decent amount of food: fish and chips, soups, oysters, sandwiches and drinks too. We ordered 2 fish and chips, prawns and chips, crab sandwich, 2 small clam chowders, a beer and 6BBQ oysters. I believe the total was $ 91! Pretty pricey! They prawns and shrimp were good. Nothing mind-blowing but they were good. Fries were ok. They clam chowder was tasty. They have it with little crackers. I had a bit of the crab sandwich and it tasted quite fresh! Probably my favorite. After finishing our food, the oysters still hadn’t come out. Apparently our waiter gave it to the wrong party. He happened to be bringing them out right as we finished. He gave us an extra for free to make it up to us. Thank you sir! The oysters themselves were kind of mediocre. They tasted good with the sauce and lemon but they didn’t wow me. Also, they were pretty small and seemed overpriced. We scarved them down in like 2 minutes. The food prep seems kind of long and they do it by number and bring it out to you so they have to wonder around the establishment trying to find you and your number which can take long. They offer complimentary water while you wait. Overall: Fisherman’s Cove was alright. The food was pretty good at parts but it can be pricey. If it’s busy, it’s extremely hard to find seating there. Quality can be somewhat hit or miss but it all depends on what you like. I may be back in the future. Hopefully I get the 4.5 star experience that everyone else has been getting here for a while.

I’ve made 3 attempts to enjoy this off the bean path establishment. And every time I walk away I say to myself, «HOW much did I spend?» My disappointment lies with the flavor of everything. It all tastes previously frozen and overly processed — Bi Rite Food Service flavor. Nothing — NOTHING — tastes fresh other than the aoli on the wet Krab sandwich and the tartar sauce and lemons served with the fish & previously frozen, over-processed chips. Waaaaaaaaay over priced. Not a great view. Never going back.

Went here for a light lunch. Had 6 oysters– 3 different ways. I had to try each preporation! Was a bit annoyed that because I wanted to try the different sauces that they charge extra… never had to be charged an extra fee for this. Had the Bbq garlic which was tasty, spicy jalapeño which was my personal favorite and the chorizo I could have done without. My boyfriend ordered the tri tip sandwich, which ofcourse I took a bite, and it was delicious! Definitely a must check out place in Bodega Bay.

So unassuming and so, so good! This place looks like just a fishing/tackle shop but stop in for lunch — you will not be disappointed! We got the shrimp po’ boy(just perfect, seasoned well, great textures, delicious sauce), clam chowder(suck it, East Coast), and BBQ’ed oysters with chorizo butter(that’s all you need to know). We weren’t partaking in any beers that day, but they had a nice selection! The staff were super sweet and friendly, the seating area looks out onto the Bay, and the prices are reasonable. I will be back.

I love their New England clam chowder! I am not a clam chowder gal. I was very impressed! Me encanto la crema de New England Clam chowder. Por lo regular no soy fanática de las cremas clam chowder pero esta estaba riquísima.

I seriously love oysters, raw oysters. It’s so difficult to find fresh oysters at a decent price but this is definitely the place to go to, especially when you’re in this area. My friends and I came here on a Sunday afternoon and this place was packed! We were here for a stay-cation for the weekend and we decided to get some oysters because why not?! Bodega Bay(or the area) is pretty known for fresh oysters because of their oyster farms and I was definitely super super excited. It didn’t take long for me to decide on what to order. OYSTERS. A dozen of raw oysters for myself! Because why not?! It’s a rare occasion to have such fresh oysters. Yes, it is kind of pricey($ 22 a dozen), but when else do you have this opportunity for fresh oysters. The oysters were definitely very fresh. They were so sweet and tasty even without any lemon, cocktail sauce or hot sauce! You just slurp it right up from the shell and it kind of just melts in your mouth. It’s probably the best oysters I’ve had in my life time. I was literally giggling and enjoying myself the whole time, after each oyster. It was so good! Overall, I highly recommend this place if you’re ever in the area! The oysters are super delicious and super fresh! It’s definitely worth the money because you rarely find such fresh oysters in the Bay(like SF, Oakland area). I can’t wait to come back!

Fisherman’s cove’s oysters were so fresh. This is a must try. My friends and I came here this weekend and ordered a total of 4 trays of 12 oysters(48 in total). It’s a bit pricy but how often do you get the chance to eat oysters this fresh? TREATYOSELF. Ambience: The restaurant is right off the bay so it was gorgeous when we went. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. Side note: No outside food! Definitely recommend this place. Hope to come back soon.

Don’t skip this place! If you come to bodega bay do yourself a favor and eat here! This is a no frills, simple seafood, local hot spot. — fast & friendly service — FRESH seafood — get the crab sandwhich with dill(tons of crab packed on toasted bread) — clam chowder was he right consistency and really incredible — raw & grilled oysters mmmmm The clam chowder was packed with all the right fixings. This is the best clam chowder I’ve ever had. New England has competition for sure. The highlight was the crab sandwhich. THe freshness, taste and right amount of dill dressing was out of this world. I’m so sad that I’ve only found this place now and not two years ago.

Picture this scenario. Lounge on a picnic bench while enjoying the beautiful view of the marina and soaking in the sun only to be cooled by the gentle ocean breeze. Next, imagine a platter of ice cold Miyagi oysters on the half shelf with a side of mignonette and a bottle of Red Tail Ale. This is the laid back life I dream of. Even the cacophony of hungry sea gulls sounded melodious! I am talking about the outdoor patio of Fisherman’s Cove at Bodega Bay… a place to rejuvenate the body and soul and time to dig in to some fresh oysters! Fisherman’s Cove carries Miyagi oysters and rightly so since they are native to the Mendocino Coast. These Miyagis have some of the qualities I like in an oyster… meaty, crisp and mildly briny. The meat was good sized and tasted clean and buttery. A drizzle of mignonette was all you need to add a little tartness and sweetness. Maybe add a squeeze of lemon. Asians sometimes bring their own ponzu sauce and wasabi. These added a whole new dimension to the taste. I prefer my fresh oysters raw as Fisherman’s Cove has grilled oysters too slathered with their unique blend of sauces like garlic butter and wasabi cocktail sauce; or spicy Worcestershire sauce… to name a couple. Prices were spot on: Raw on the half shell($ 12.00 for 6 or $ 22 per dozen) and Grilled($ 15 for 6 or $ 26 per dozen). The rest of the entrees were not as glorious as the oysters. Portuguese Style Fish Stew(8 oz $ 4.50; 16 oz $ 6.50) was in one word meh despite being packed with goodies. It tasted like the stew was not cooked long enough to bring out the full distinctive flavors of shrimps, fish and veggies. Adding salt, pepper and even soy(my own) were to no avail. Skip! Ah! The quintessential Fish and Chips($ 13.00) from a seafood joint! It came with a hefty pile of fries and three fairly good-sized fish. The portion was too much for one and too little to share. I would have appreciated a side of salad or coleslaw. The crust was a little over battered and hence it was darker brown instead of light golden brown. Amazingly, it wasn’t overly greasy. The meat though, still had a reasonably fresh and sweet taste. It wasn’t the best Fish and Chips but was certainly more than acceptable. The tastiest lunch entrée went to Crab Sandwich($ 12.00) served on toasted ciabatta bread. The sandwich size was paltry and like the Fish and Chips, it didn’t come with any sides of salad or coleslaw. I wolfed both slices down in no time at all and wondered if they were just samples! Maybe I should blame it on the ocean air that led to my ferocious appetite that day. I have to admit those were some tasty Dungeness crabmeat with aioli. Bodega Bay will provide some respite from your daily stress and if you are an oyster lover like me, Fisherman’s Cove is a good place to get your oyster fix. As for the other entrees, it seems like a mixed bag with tourist price tags. On a warm summer day, drinking beer and savoring fresh oysters in the patio area will be the real kickass thing to do!

After a quick visit at Doran Park, my husband and I headed up to Bodega Bay. I wanted to stop at Fisherman’s Cove for lunch after reading all the glowing reviews. We got here around 11 am on a weekday. There was only one other couple dining when we arrived, but it did get busier. You order food and drinks at the counter. A server brings everything out to you. I got the crab sandwich with cocktail sauce($ 12) and a glass of the Mark West Chardonnay. My husband ordered the Lagunitas battered fish and chips with a Dogfish Head. Everything came out pretty quickly. The food was delicious. The crab tasted really fresh, and the cocktail sauce was the perfect touch. My only complaint was the price. I just think 12 bucks for a fairly small crab sandwich is a bit much!
