So good, but so far! Visiting the ocean, staying for the fish & chips. After visiting Bodega bay to show our puppy the ocean, we decided to stay for a late afternoon snack. What we ended up doing was having a full meal. We searched Unilocal for a place with fish & chips, which was just about everywhere. The Bird’s Café appeared to be relatively new, and had good ratings. The outdoor seating made the decision for us. The staff were very friendly! We ordered the fish and chips, fish tacos, onion rings, and iced tea. The veggies were fresh and crisp, the fish was fresh, with good batter. Everything was just right: Right amount of batter, no burnt items, right seasoning, and great iced tea. The view of the cove was also complimentary to the meal. I would definitely drive out just for this place! Stop by and enjoy the cove, and have a great meal while you’re at it. –Enjoy

Great Mom & Pop with solidly consistent food and panoramic views of the bay and harbor. Delicious fish & chips and fish tacos. One of the better corn dogs too. Ice cold Lagunitas on tap and okay wine list. We stumbled upon this spot on their first day open and it’s been consistently delicious every time we stop in – which is once or twice a month after a morning at the beach. They’ve started carrying raw & Barbq oysters too. A very much«Must Stop» when visiting Bodega Bay. Great food and views without pretension or fancy price tag.

My husband and the fish tacos and shrimp and chips. The shrimp battery is sooooo good! It is seasoned very well with a crispy outer layer and soft bread like inside later.

Outstanding! We spent two nights in Bodega Bay this Labor Day and ate dinner here both nights! You can go to the fancy seafood places and overpay, or come here and have better food with beautiful, casual outdoor seating for a reasonable price! The first night we had the fish and chips, fish tacos, artichoke fritters and clam chowder. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious! The fish was flaky and beautifully crispy tender! The fritters were amazing and delectable! The chowder, albeit a little thinner than what I’m used to, was very flavorful and loaded with fresh clams! Very good!!! I had the Boont Ale on tap, and it was ice cold and refreshing! The second night we had the prawns and chips, corn dog and chips, and the chowder again, but this time I asked if we could sub out the chips for the artichoke fritters, and they said«Sure, no problem!» It’s rare to find a place that will let you sub out like that and not charge extra — Awesome! The prawns were huge, crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked! My wife LOVES corn dogs, and she said this one was one of the best she’s ever had, perfectly cooked breading, not doughy, but crispy and hot in the middle! The chowder was even better than the day before! This will be out go-to place from now on! The Birds Café Rocked It!!!

EVENT: a little weekday get away! LOCATION: located on a cliff by the bay. Nice view — there’s outdoor seating, so you can check out the boats, water, and natureeee. FOOD&DRINKS (1) Fish and Chips — def love the fish (2) Calm Chowder — the best I had so far! TONS of calms, thick and cream! (3) IPA — can’t go wrong — hehe 5 stars **OVERALL: def will come back for the calm chowder with some IPA — 5 stars!

Good food, everything is deep fried. The fish tacos looked like they were comprised of fresh high quality ingredients, but for some reason I found them to be kind of flavorless. Couldn’t taste the fish at all, just the cabbage. Deep fried artichoke and onion rings were good. Really great patio seating!

What a wonderful find!!! This is a small place along the coast serving a limited menu but the food is exceptional. The place is clean. You can order your food and they will call you to pick it up. The eating area is so nice at the patio with the ocean/marina views. The employees are very nice, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our fish tacos. The fish was nicely fried and very light. There was a lot of fish in the tacos. I would definitely highly recommend this place and return in the future!!!

Great spot. Love the deck. We showed up about 5 mins before they opened but they were stoked to have us and took our order fast. 2 fish and chips, prawns, and fish tacos came to us in a matter of minutes. This place is awesome.

So I came back for a second try of this great location. I’m so glad I came back for another try at this café. I was very impressed with the turn around of customer service. The girls were so very nice and attentive. The cashier was so bubbly and sweet and does her job very well. She made my experience 5 star! The owner takes care of her guests and takes pride in her business which makes me a happy guest. We ordered fish and chips, prawns and chips and shrimp tacos. The food was sooooo delicious. The best shrimp tacos I’ve had so far. My daughter said the same. The shrimp is beer battered!!! Pure amazingness!!! I love that they use cabbage on the tacos and have a yummy guac sauce that they drizzle on top. It is definitely a must try!!! I won’t be able to stop here without ordering those tacos every time now. Lol. The location is amazing! Right off highway 1 and outdoor seating only with the beautiful bodega bay as your scenery. Who could ask for anything more??? I will definitely be a regular here! Looking forward to my next visit! I can hardly wait!

We always make the trip to Bodega Bay so we can stop at The Birds Café on our way North. The artichoke tacos are amazing!!! They flash fry artichoke hearts in a beer batter. They are then wrapped in corn tortillas and topped with a yummy cabbage slaw and a drizzle of cilantro lime sauce. We’ve also had the fish tacos and the shrimp tacos. They also serve beer(draft and bottle options) and wine. Bring fido, the patio is pet friendly. Restrooms are clean and there’s ample parking in a gravel lot next to the gift shop. Service is pleasant and quick. Do not miss this place when you are in Bodega Bay!!!

We had to find a place to eat quick and decided on this place for its packed outdoor dining area and the fact that it was from the movie«The Birds.» We had no idea if it would be good but it was really clean and the staff were friendly. We were VERY impressed with the food here. It was made quick, it was really fresh, and it just tasted awesome. I’m not normally a sea good fan but their fish here is great. We ordered the Fish and Chips and Fish Tacos. The fish and chips were better but but the fish tacos were also good. We’re saving this place on the map to visit again whenever we come to the beach.

For stars for a very limited menu. Otherwise a 5 star for the food. This place is gooooood! Their chowder is much better than Lucas Wharf, The Tides & Sand Piper combined. They also have local beers on tap. And pet friendly seating with a gorgeous view of the bay!

This is a cute little place that I always pass while going to the beach! It’s a tiny little kitchen but everything looks so nice and well kept. Service is quick and the people are friendly. They have an outdoor seating area that’s dog friendly. The fried artichokes that everyone raves about really is delicious! I had the fish tacos which were yummy but their chowder is DELICIOUS! I definitely recommend!

Went here today for the first time with my fiancé and the food was really good! Looking last minute for quick places to eat in Bodega Bay and found this! Small place where you order your food and can eat outside on the bench area overlooking the bay. Beautiful view! Menu is small and simple, which was great. Fiancé ordered the fish and chips and it was very tasty! Big portion of fish since he ordered two pieces. We thought it would be small for what you pay for, but it was a good size. Fish was tender, and batter was nice and crispy. French fries were crunchy and well done, but could probably use a little more salt. I ordered the fish tacos(comes with two tacos). Fish was fried and it was very good! They add their coleslaw to it with I think some type of pick de gallo salsa on it. Overall both of our dishes were done well and they were tasty! Not a bad place to stop while you’re in bodega to get a quick bite to eat. Staff was also very friendly! :) would definitely come back when I am in the area!!!

Really great food! I would not over do as everything is deep fried but the fritters are amazing and the pear cider is to die for! I really enjoyed the view and sitting in the sun while we waited. Everyone there was friendly and nice, they do need to get through the line a bit faster but I’m just nitpicking! It’s a must do when you’re in town!

This little café is a great place to stop if you’re heading through Bodega Bay. They are on a corner so you could miss it if you aren’t paying attention, but they have a few signs, so you should be able to find it. If you pass the Candy and Kite shop you just missed it. A nice, simple menu is offered, which makes a decision on what to get pretty easy. I have had their fish and chips, prawns and chips and artichoke fritters. All are seasoned perfectly and very tasty. The portions aren’t very large but just enough really. I don’t find the fish overly greasy but a few of my friends did. The prawns are huge and fried perfectly. I usually get an Ace Pear Cider to wash it all down, and they have a few beers on tap and some wine options as well. All the seating is outdoor overlooking the harbor. It’s quite lovely on a clear day and the perfect place to stop for lunch before heading to the beach! The owner is very friendly, same with the girls behind the counter. I try to stop here every time I’m in the area and am craving fish and chips… you should too!

I love this little spot. Dog friendly deck, friendly service and Artichoke Fritters! Doesn’t get much better than that, except you can top it off with a good local beer. The clam chowder isn’t on the same par as other local favorites but the fish and chips is stellar too!

Ok, so I left a tip saying amazing view/outdoor area and that’s what my 3 stars are for… The café is so small, it’s all about the outdoor seating so ye are kinda stuffed on a chilly day or rainy day but my main disappointment came in the food, it had a hot food menu opting for the fish and chips; thinking just off a marina, this fish is gonna be great however what I got was 2 pieces of grease, 90% grease, 10% fish. My husband had the tiger prawns, of course he can review himself but pretty much the same ratio was on his serving, big prawns that should have been amazing was battered and just not drained of the grease! I felt truly ill afterwards which was worrying as I’d about 45min car journey before I was home. They need to consider draining the food once out of the fryer and maybe an oil change, the batter was dark in colour, not golden :-(
