Good place for dinner and wine. We went there for wine after dinner. I will go back again.

I have to agree with the other reviewer glorified bar. The staff messed up my order, refilled my drink with no ice(you know iced tea generally has ice in it) then they remembered they messed up my order so I asked for some bread. They gave me half frozen rolls then the server says well we have another chicken sandwich cooking right now after I ate my meal. Not good not good at all. I also though it was over priced for the value.

Used to be a nice restaurant with good food and wait staff. Now it’s a glorified bar with staff who are just going through the motions. Went there on Christmas and was told we could not sit at a four person booth because we were only two. That’s with hardly anyone in the place. Asked for bread but was told they ran out. Food was ok but overpriced. The place is clearly under new management and I don’t even think it’s called JRs anymore. Will not be returning.

I’ve been eating lunch here for many months. The staff recognized me after a couple of visits. They always make me feel at home and are friendly. They never let my glass get empty, but the best part of JW’s is the food. Truly excellent every time. The only bad thing is I live in Boulder, so I don’t stay in the Hotel. I am sure it’s as good as the restaurant.

I originally went here because I had a coupon for it from . I choose this place after having the experience of another restaurant(Gurkhaus out in Gunbarrel) not honoring another coupon that I had bought last year. In fact, they were really rude about it and I won’t be going back there ever. So, this time, I checked for other places in town and called the ones I was considering to make sure they were accepting the coupon. Then I checked the menus online. Since I had never tried JW’s, I thought I’d give it a try. We went kind of early(5:30 pm on a Tuesday) because my daughter and I had both missed lunch, we’re early risers and we were hungry. The restaurant is small, as it’s inside the Boulder Marriott Hotel, near McGuckin’s. The bar was busy, but there was only one other diner that early. We were sat immediately by James, our waiter. He was very nice and professional, didn’t hover, came to check on our opinion during each course, and was just perfect. The menu had plenty of yummy items to choose on it, but we went for the Buffalo Ribeye Steak special. Since it was a large meal, we decided to split it, adding house salads, a bottle of wine and fresh made decaf coffee afterwards. The kitchen was very accommodating to my daughter’s dietary needs(no soy, no dairy, and gluten free), which was wonderful. Everything we ate was done perfectly! With so many good restaurants in Boulder to choose from, most of which are so crowded and often have slow service because of that, and are sometimes out of what we want to eat, I can honestly say I will be going back again to JW’s again, that’s for sure! Prices are a bit high, but not anymore so than other good places in Boulder, but for the portion sizes, I can’t complain. We even had a bit of steak and veggies leftover to take home. Give it a try. I think you’ll find it worth it.
