Yes It is Chinese fast food, but NOT good Chinese fast food. Typical Chinese hot lamp fast food. Soggy chicken in wet gravy. What a disappointment! I was hoping to find something really good in this area. No good Chinese food in this part of Burbank… Will keep looking.

I used to work in the area and would go here frequently. The staff is great and will remember people who frequent there often. The service is fast and food is always ready to go. The prices are also very affordable. The reason this restaurant is only 3 stars is because the food is simply okay. It is not great or authentic by any means and tastes okay.

Typical chinese hot lamp fast food. What else needs explaining? Ive been here twice now. Ive had the popcorn, black pepper, kung pao, and mushroom chicken. All very mediocre. All damn near trash. I was surprised to didnt get sick and yack. I guess my body is used to eating this garbage. Its whatever. You get what you get. Straight up. The popcorn chicken was surprising i almost never see that. I opted to not get orange chicken and broccoli beef cause what do I look like a rookie?

I was really hungry and stumbled upon this place after visiting the beauty store next door. I didn’t allow the poor reviews on Unilocal persuade me otherwise as they’re a bit old. I imagined things would have been different after a few months and I would have been a happy and satisfied camper. Nope! Definitely won’t be returning here. It really doesn’t matter what I ordered as all of the 3 items tasted very bland, tasteless and just disappointing. I was hopeful. Two good things: Good customer service Lots of parking

On Unilocal a 2-star rating says, «Meh, I’ve experienced better.» I don’t eat a lot of Chinese take out, but almost every other place I’ve been to is better. Over the last few years my «tester» for trying a new Chinese place is to order the Kung Pao Chicken. We all know what goes in it and how(approximately) it should taste. Their version here is everything you’d NOT expect… It was sweet, but not«orangey» like there was a mix up. Sugar and a lot of oil, dripping through the to-go box by the time I returned to work, were the main ingredients. Isn’t Kung Pao supposed to be spicy? There was one chili pepper in mine but 0 spice. Someone else mentioned celery being the most abundant, I didn’t notice. I asked for hot sauce and it came out of a packet. They also charged me an extra $ 0.75 to use my credit card. I’m not knocking them for those, but I think they are indicators about the quality of a place. I brought my dinner from home tonight but wanted something else. I had to throw out the Chinese after eating 2⁄3 of it here-and-there over a 4hr period. I didn’t want to give up on it, but I started really contemplating what I’m doing to my body tonight. At any rate, I have to run to the restroom now. My insides aren’t doing so well suddenly. This is trip #2. I think I’ll try many more places before returning unless I’m really, really desperate. *Or perhaps another Unilocaler can suggest a better dish? PS: I went to this place at 7pm, the height of dinner hour, so I was expecting fresh, tasty, etc. I already made the mistake of visiting a Subway 5min before closing and having their Pastrami. Ouch, and that’s another story. PPS: My large, a la carte dish came out to around $ 8.75 and for take out that feels a little expensive to me… not cheap like everyone else is saying and not for a box of brown sugar oil. OK now I REALLY gotta’ go!

Tasteless food. Chow mein, rice, orange chicken and BBQ beef all hardly had any flavor. For $ 7 you can get the same amount of food with flavor and a drink at Yoshinoya down the street. The tasteless food is probably the reason this play is empty all the time.

Authentic Chinese food dive… okay. Good ready-made food. Great prices. Good service.

Cheap, but most of the items are deep fried. If you don’t care about your waist, this is a pretty good place to go for a decent deal. They’re «americanized» in the sense that it’s like a Panda Express fast food style. Noodles are dry, fried rice was really good — can’t go wrong with that. I had the black pepper chicken and it was tasty but the meat tasted almost like gelatin rather than being able to bite into the pieces. MSG — the worst! That weird aftertaste in your tongue? That’s MSG! The people are really nice! They’re so friendly and welcoming; when I ordered I was in a slightly bad mood but somehow their greetings made me feel better. Haha, kudos to them! Cheap eat, closeby to where I live. Next time though I don’t think I’ll go for the combo — they give a lot of the rice/noodles!

As a kid I used to love this place, especially with their meat on a stick. But recently their food is alright, and the nostalgia I had for this place is gone. The prices are okay, but they charge extra for credit card and fortune cookies. Plus they keep 2 TVs in the kitchen, one of them was too loud and annoying for me to enjoy eating. There is no proper ventilation too, so it can get pretty hot. It’s better to get the food to-go, as the dine-in experience is sub par.

Glad to see this place is still around, been coming here since I was in high school. If you are expecting the same taste and flavor as Panda Express then don’t come, not every chinese restaurant is going to taste the same. Family owned and operated, even when there was police tape for a robery at K-Mart they were still open once… I love it!

My kids like noodles. The food can sit in the heating table for long periods of time. Only the soups are made to order. The Orange Chicken is below average. The broccoli beef is good. The service depends on the day.

Somebody please shut this place down! A buddy and I were craving Asian fast food last month and made the mistake of coming here. They don’t make food. They make slop with noodles or slop with rice. Its an embarrassment when a restaurant can’t compete with the«fine dining» of Panda Express. Am I a snob for expecting food to taste like food? I have been to plenty of hole-in-the-wall Asian places that cost the same and deliver a great dish. What’s really sad is that if the owners took the time to do a good job, they could have a successful restaurant since there is so little competition for cheap Chinese in Burbank. Avoid.like.the.plague.

I was starving from arrands all day and ran into this chinese joint! No one inside but me and the employees around dinner uhh. wasnt sure how i felt about that but thats fine I guess. The combo plate was about 5.50 additional 50 cents for using a card(boo) As far as clean yeah I guess pretty clean nothing that threw me off. The food was soo average! You cant screw up chow mein or fried rice those were good then orange chicken was very saugy which was ehhhh BUT the beef and broccoli was NASTY beef was more like rubber or some other animal I totally didnt eat that and I’m soo not even picky about meat it was just horrid. Other then that I dont think this place is gonna be top of my list for another chance

Wait, what?! This place is still around?! Awesome! I used to come here as a high school kid(BHS!) on a budget, looking for cheap eats near me(as I didn’t have a car). Now I’m an older, working kid, still looking for cheap eats! Before I go any further, I should tell you that I once heard this place was serving other animals(not cow or chicken) and that it was in the local paper. That was in like 2003, and even then I’m not sure it wasn’t a joke. That aside… These guys have amazing food for the price you pay. This isn’t a good Chinese restaurant where the meals are authentic, but rather a small dive-y spot that’s great when you’re hungry and in a hurry. I don’t think I’ve ever paid more than $ 8 for a large meal here, which is awesome and truly a testament to their prices. I don’t think this is the place to bring a date(assuming you’re not in high school), or a great place to have a delicious meal. I do think, however, this is a good spot if you’re in a rush. Win.

Typical chinese fast food, nothing remarkable. It’s cheap and average; I think I’d prefer to go to Panda Express. In my opinion, using celery as your main vegetable for kung pao is typically a bad indicator, and there’s no exception here.

«Yes Great Chinese food in a shopping center» This place is located in a Kmart shopping center right off San Fernando Rd. near the Heart of Burbank and is right next to a Chickie Cheese and its worth looking out for. This place is hands down the friendliest place to eat at. The staff is all family and they make you feel just like an old friend, I’ve been going here for 8 yrs so they do know me. lol…The orange chicken is alittle over sweet but this is the only place that’ll serve me Beef Broccoli without the Broccoli. And its amazingly flavorful, but their stand out item is their noodles. Now alittle back store I have been to 4 different Hong Kong Express’ throughout the Valley, whether their all connected or not I don’t know, and none of them have had as great noodles as this place. They put just the right amount of vegetables to noodle ratio and they’re the thick kinds too. None of those thin stringy Thai style noodles from Panda here. Just thick orange oily noodles with fried rice and 2 sides for around 5.00. I do have to mention that go out of my way passing 2 other«HKE» just to eat at this place its that good, if you go after Burbank High lets out expect a line since the kids seems to know of this great little place. PS: If you go late at night the food isn’t as great, but they tend to give you more since they have to sell what they prepared that day. Ow and they do close early but I’ve arrived 10 – 15 mins after closing to still find them open so all around my kind of place. My only complaint would be that the later you do go the less great tasting the food gets(it dries up and just ain’t as great). That being said is still worth enjoying this little gem hidden in B town.

Thought I’d give them another shot mid-day on a weekend in hopes the food may be a little fresher and more flavourful. Much to my dismay, the bubbly personality of the lovely young lady behind the counter couldn’t overpower the awful, awful bland food. The fried rice was dry… I mean really dry. Like, we re-used the shit from last night dry. The orange chicken(the easiest, most cliché item on the menu) tasted like cardboard dipped in some cheap pre-packaged syrup. I will give them the black-pepper chicken, that tasted alright but couldn’t make up for everything else on the plate being garbage and there was so much starch I felt full after four or five bites. I hadn’t been in here for several weeks and doubt I’ll be coming back any time soon, this last visit left an awful taste in my mouth both figuratively and literally.
