Ordered their version of a Monte Cristo sandwich. I missed the powdered sugar. The sandwich was good. Not spectacular. A fruit cup came with it, and the honeydew melon, although it was firm, has a spoiled taste to it. I just picked out ate strawberries – they were the freshest… Took half my sandwich home. PROS: selection, portions, attentiveness of staff CON: freshness of fruit out of season – I suggest sticking with seasonal fruits noise – don’t bring anyone with a hearing aid here – they’d go nuts!

Not near as good as I had hoped. The waitress was overly chatty and the restaurant was overly loud.

Nice and friendly when we got so we had high hopes when we sat down. Two different servers came by to check our drinks which was nice. Though once we were ready to order we waited about 10 minutes before I had to call over a server. We placed our order and proceeded to wait for our food. The booths around us filled up and placed their orders over the next 20 minutes. We noticed that the tables coming in long after us started getting their food before we did so we asked our server to check on our order. He went into the kitchen and brought our food out right away. Apparently it had been sitting there because the hashbrowns were cold and the eggs Benedict was lukewarm. The steak in the eggs Benedict was tough and grisly and not a pleasant thing to chew. Don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Peg’s is close to my house and so was excited when it opened to have a new restaurant option in the neighborhood. Finally got to try this place and was glad we did! There was a wait for a table so we sat at the counter. Although the place was busy the service at the counter was very good, and my coffee cup was never empty. They have a large menu with a lot of tasty looking options. We settled on the Peglett omelet, Joe’s special and an order of Mickey pancakes. The Mickey pancakes really did look like the famous mouse! I really enjoyed the Joes special and will definitely order this again. Also I am a big sourdough bread fan and really liked their sourdough toast. Plus their breakfasts include all the toast you can eat! Since we sat at the counter I also saw several of their skillet breakfasts go by and they looked huge!

I was really excited to see Peg’s here in Carson City but was not impressed with the food or the very slow service. One slice of toast was so burnt that it was nearly black and the other slice was really just warm bread. When my mother asked for a bit of peanut butter for her toast they brought a bowl that held about ½ cup and you guessed it… we were charged nearly $ 2.00 for it. lol I won’t be heading back here anytime soon.

Our party of six went for breakfast on a weekday and we were seated right away. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Coffee cups were never empty; they periodically asked if refills were needed. I tasted everyone’s order and I loved all of them. I had country fried steak and eggs($ 11.50). I had my mom order fried spam and eggs($ 9.99); she loved the scrambled eggs. My aunt’s Corned Beef Hash and eggs($ 9.99), my uncle’s Pork chops and eggs($ 9.99), my other aunt’s french toast($ 7.95), and my cousin’s Joe’s Special(eggs scrambled with mushroom, spinach, onion, and ground chuck) were all tasty and filling. I would have wanted to try the Monte Cristo as well but I was already too full after finishing my order and eating off of everyone’s plate! I’ll definitely order it on my next visit.

Went there for breakfast before heading up to the slopes to go snowboarding and was very pleased. I’ve been to peg’s in Reno and love it, so I was v see r happy to see that their Carson location is just as good :) Our waitress was great and very friendly. I’m definitely going there again next time I am in Carson

Carson City has had an explosion of new breakfast joints over the past few years, and I’m glad that Peg’s finally opened in Carson City. One of the first positives is that the toast is unlimited here. Also, compared to other joints, their breakfasts are huge! The only complaint is that the hash browns are pretty standard, and aren’t as good as the other items are. However, the service is superb and the only deduction is that the waiting area is way too small, and they only seat whole parties versus others which will gladly seat you if you’re waiting for one or two people. While I’ve never eaten a platter, those suckers are larger than a car tire and I personally don’t know how anyone except a ravished firefighter or lumberjack could finish one.

Food is yuck here! Eggs were horrible, both scrambled and poached. The hollandaise was totally gross! Rubbery and full of something black like pepper, but it wasn’t pepper :(the hash browns tasted rancid. The only reason I didn’t give them 1 star is because the service and severs were good.

Wife brother and I went for breakfast yesterday and we all have food poisoning not long after. Place was packed and waitresses and waiters all seemed to have been overwhelmed with the task that everything took really long. Won’t ever go back!

I have been there once and that was enough. I ordered a chocolate chip pancake and two poached eggs, my usual at the Red Hut Café, and was excited to see it was overflowing with chocolate! When I bit into it, however, they were bittersweet! It tasted like the chips used to bake, not to eat straight out of the bag. My poached egg tasted how rotten, hard boiled eggs smelled. My friend got an Eggs Benedict and said the same, I think they may use pre poached eggs? The environment was too hectic and not very inviting for a diner and the entire restaurant looked incredibly outdated – and this was on it’s opening week! I’m staying at Red Hut from now on.

My boyfriend and I went here for the first time over the weekend. We were the typical town goers checking out the hot new breakfast place on a late Sunday morning; so needless to say, the place was packed! Surprisingly, we were seated within just minutes of arriving! I can’t say the same for some of the larger parties. If you’re coming with more than two people I suggest coming a little earlier or calling in. The food is pretty pricey! To put it in perspective, my boyfriend and I both ordered coffee, our meals, and one side of toast, and the meal was $ 40.00. My boyfriend ordered a chili omelette, and I ordered the California Benedict. His meal was amazing! It was a large omelette with a big side of hash browns and some other goodies. My Benedict on the other hand was okay. Hardly any hollandaise sauce, which was a bummer. But overall, it wasn’t too bad. The service was great! All of the waitresses seemed to be really frazzled, like they had no idea how to get to everyone in the room. But our waitress, her name was Megan, was very sweet and attentive! She made great conversation, always made sure our glasses were full? And checked on us regularly. We will go again!

Large portions. Hash browns are cooked in a thin«slice» so that they are crispy all the way through. Omelet super filled the fixings. Unlimited toast with refilld. biscuits and gravy are also super. Quick service makes this 5 stars

First time ever been to Peg’s Glorified Ham N Eggs and what a disappointment. Place was packed so I thought that was a good sign, Was I wrong! Wife and I both ordered a burger, How is it possible to cook such bland food? If they cant cook even a simple thing as a burger right then why would I ever return to try any thing else? Sad to say that the best thing they offered was the level of service even given the fact they were packed and people were waiting to be seated.

Not one to stop for breakfast while we’re down in Carson but we decided to give this place a shot. I had the Chile relleno which was fantastic! Not knowing how large the portions were, I ordered a short stack as well and quickly realized that wasn’t going to happen so just had it boxed up. Our server Andrew was very friendly and helpful. Super quick and efficient, making sure out food was to our satisfaction and always keeping our coffee full. We’ll definitely be back!

A-OK. Had the corned beef hash and eggs with hash browns and one piece of toast. Eggs were done as instructed– no complaints there. Hash was pretty much ½ hash and ½ onions and bell peppers, which wasn’t what I was expecting but luckily I like onions and bell peppers. The single piece of toast was nice and toasty, and cut at the traditional angle for easy consumption. Hash browns were what could have used the onions and bell peppers, frankly. Decent coffee. Firm adherence to the new«You only get one slice of toast» rule sweeping the nation. Service a bit slow to get started but picked up during the busy lunch hour. Anyhow, perfectly acceptable, and I would eat here again if I was feeling peckish and in the neighborhood.

As great as the Reno locations! So happy to have them in the CV now. Coffee is fine as are the tator tots. Don’t listen to thy neighsayers. Who in their right mind wouldn’t love these Huevos Rancheros?

Well I went to pegs the other day to see what all the hype was about. I should have stayed home and saved the $ 20 bucks. Yeah, $ 20 bucks for one person… how much do eggs cost now-a-days? Well the service was good, was seated right away, kind of had to yell my order to the server because it was so noisy in there.(Almost as loud as a high school cafeteria.) I think I heard four or five pans/plates drop. The portion size was good, I wasn’t able to finish it all… but then again, did I want too? As previous reviews mentioned, the hash browns were grey and undercooked. I had their breakfast burrito skillet and coffee(which really did taste like water) the burrito was pretty good($ 20 good? I don’t think so) Over all, I wasn’t very impressed! I guess next time I’m itching for breakfast I’ll hit McDonald’s

Dang Mikey next door at the hair salon beat me to the first review! Well, OK, I wasn’t able to get here till 2 days after they opened. I arrived around 10:45 or so and the place was packed, So, like don’t people have to work? I guess they all wanted to give the new place in town a try as did I. I had tried Peg’s in Reno before and didn’t have the best visit, but was hoping for better here in Carson. It was better service wise, but I’m thinking I’m probably not gonna be back. So I come in and get seated at a booth. Looking around I can see everything is all new and clean. The 2 person booths are wider than the ones in the south Reno location, so that’s good. I get served by what seems like a manager of some sort, as the 3 other servers are busy. For being full of customers, 3 servers is way understaffed. OK, so I get the menu and coffee. I’ll stick to real breakfast this time and order the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs, served with hashbrowns and unlimited toast. They did do a smart thing here on the toast, since I believe many people were not eating all their toast when served the normal 2 slices cut in two. They serve you one slice of toast and give you more if you want, that way less waste from people who don’t eat both slices anyways. Also the toast is served dry, cause some diet conscious people don’t use butter, me NOT being one of them! I do like the butter served is soft whipped in a little pack, nothing worse than hard butter on luke warm toast! So, I wanted to get a refill on the coffee, but it was difficult as the servers were only paying attention to their section and that’s it… not a lot of team work ya know? Finally I get my guy to fill my cup. My food arrives and poses for pics. Well, looks like a lot of food for $ 11.50. I see the hash browns are still the same soggy pad of potatoes as in Reno. Sort of brown on the outside, but the inside is just a moosh of potatoes where you can’t tell the potato shreds apart from each other… like a potato pancake! But now I know why they come out that way, talking to the server. It was explained they mass produce them in a big giant pad on the flat top grill and then just cut off portions to serve, instead of grilling on the flat top individual portions and flipping and mixing the potatoes so you get nice crispy shreds all through out the portion. I guess when you go for mass quantity, something has to give… and it’s the hashbrowns! The eggs were fine as was the Chicken Fried Steak. It was a good size but a bit skimpy on the gravy. It wasn’t the best gravy, that would go to the Basque Deli ion Carson, but I did ask for more and was told there was a $ 1.50 extra charge for a bit more gravy. What a nickle and dime deal is this? Sure that gravy ain’t free to make, but just that little bit of customer service will go a long way to gain customer loyalty and happiness and good will and word of mouth. But now with policies like that, like how much really does a bit of gravy cost to make? 50 cents including labor and overhead? Is that not worth gaining good will and word of mouth… or word of internet? Think the long game! I didn’t get a very warm feeling from the staff either, yes they answered questions, but just that and nothing else. Efficient yes, friendly no … like a Chinese restaurant! I’m glad they came to Carson, cause Carson could sure use the tax money, but Peg’s is not what I want in a local eatery, hey but that might just be me, you might like mooshy hash browns and robotic service or find something else on the menu, but I don’t think I’ll be back. I’m gonna have to say, the coffee shop at the Fandango has a better breakfast even.
