Our family really enjoys this place, but have had some issues since they revamped the menu and building. I understand they make the sauces and don’t mind paying for extras, but was disappointed to learn now the kids meals do not include one. With multiple children I was not thrilled to have to now buy sauce which used to be included with said meals. I’m not sure why their meals differ from adults, adults don’t want plain chicken– neither do kids. I also am a big fan of the green tea, and willing to pay the upfront extra cost for it. However, it bothers me that refill wise I have to ask to have my cup refilled. I understand that helps others who didn’t pay for it to those who do, but still annoying as I feel awkward doing so. As for the chicken, I’m not sure what everyone’s deal is but I think it’s great. It’s juicy and always seems fresh(or fresher than other fast casual places). The fries aren’t my favorite but no where near being bad.

I’ve been coming here for probably over a year now, and reading some of the 1 star reviews for B&M I have to wonder if they were of sound mind when they wrote them. Admittedly they can occasionally serve fries that have been under a lamp, but having eaten here a lot I can confidently say that that happens about ¼ times I visit. Every other time it has been incredibly fresh and so delicious. The only thing I get here is the Buffalo chicken tenders and they beat any chain around Austin time and time again. The fries are amazing with the crispy breading on the outside & the soft hot inside of the fry, and the strips are huge and taste so fresh.

Not impressed. One visit and I won’t be back. PDQ just up the road had more flavorful chicken, better sandwiches, MUCH better fries, fresher sides, better overall selection and is an all around much brighter cheerier place to stop for a meal at a comparable price. The fries are breaded for some odd reason and they were luke warm and clearly not fresh. The chicken strips seriously lacked seasoning and were over fried in parts and were turning rubbery and tough at the ends. The batter wasn’t substantial or crusty on the one thing they specialize in and on the one thing they should batter. The slice of Texas toast is completely a waste. You get a battered chicken, battered fries which is already completely unnecessary and then a slice of dry toast that adds nothing but robs your mouth of saliva as you try to power through your subpar meal. How about some cole slaw or something fresh? Took a bite of my wife’s chicken strip sandwich and again the chicken was rubbery and the coating was not seasoned well at all. And what is with the frosted glass from about a foot off the ground to 4 feet off the ground? Unless you are Manut Bol(RIP) you’re completely surrounded by windows that you can’t see out of while seated… They might as well be jail walls because that’s what the quality of food and ambiance give the impression of. Time served, lesson learned.

I got the chicken tender sandwich on Texas toast. There was a decent amount of chicken in the sandwich and my chicken coating was pretty crunchy, which was good. The sandwich overall was a touch on the dry side. I wish there was more seasoning in the batter because it tasted quite bland. I think if they added seasoning this would be quite a bit better of a chicken experience. The size of the combo was decent and the fries were pretty crunchy because they have a bit of the batter on them. Service was quick and the place was nice and clean. I’d say it was just okay overall.

This is really a 3.5 rounded up. The tenders are decent sized and is offered in 3 different ways — fried, grilled, and buffalo(Frank’s Hot Wing Sauce). You can pick and choose the combination so that helps in mixing it up a bit. I like to do one of each. :) What I also like is that they have a variety of dipping sauces; original, southwest, honey mustard, ranch, BBQ and gravy. I usually go with the southwest, its a little tangy with a mild kick to it. But can’t ever go wrong with honey mustard. Even though I’m partial to thin cut shoestring type of fries, I like their thicker fries too. Sweet tea ranks pretty high up there although I prefer Bush’s Chicken’s sweet tea slightly better. Overall, I feel the dipping sauces and the fact you can combine different tender styles ranks this higher than some of the other«fried chicken only» fast food places(Raising Canes, Bush’s Chicken, etc) since they only offer one type with limited sauces leaving it feeling a bit bland.

I really like the plain old fried strips. It’s close and convenient to where I live, the staff is always quick and friendly, the breaded fries aren’t my favorite but I’m usually full of chicken and just pick at the fries anyway. Keep up the good work guys!

I went to Bob and Mike’s about a month ago, and I shudder every time I think about it. The weird thing is, I actually LOVED the sweet green tea that everyone raved on here about. It was delicious, and something I’d never had. That particular day, I was off of work and looking for a new locale to try for lunch. I turned to my handy dandy Unilocal app, tried a few searches, and found this place. Being new to the area, I figured I’d be down for an adventure to a new part of town. I pull up and promptly order a three piece meal with honey mustard. Absolutely no wait for my food — as soon as I paid the cashier, it was being smacked down on the counter. Even the cashier seemed a little surprised how fast it was ready. Okay. I get to my table and start with the fries. They’re pretty great, how about the chicken? Not worthy of the rave reviews I encountered. Bland, and made slightly better by the shallow dish of honey mustard I received. I would have asked for more, but I don’t believe in paying for something as little as sauce/condiments. The even better part about my experience? Went grocery shopping after lunch, and not 15 minutes into my trip around the store, I had a scarily bubbly stomach that would not be ignored. Needless to say, I ran hurriedly to the nearest bathroom, and I’ll unfortunately have to miss the green tea from afar.

Tried this place out on a whim since I was craving chicken tenders. I chose this place over PDQ. The tenders were really fresh and tasted great. I would have liked it to be a little crispier. I also got the«frings» half onion rings and half fries. The fries were great, reminds me of Golden Chicks fries and the onion rings tasted very good with their southwest dipping sauce. The green tea was very refreshing. I can definitely going to come back the next time I’m craving more chicken tenders!

A new spot that I hadn’t ate at before and highly recommend with a bunch of 5 star reviews… I thought this should be great! I took the 15 minute drive over here and went inside for take out. It was an hour before closing and it was empty. I like to scope out the inside of a place before I eat there or use the drive thru, which this spot has. The bathroom was decent definitely usable and serviceable. The inside eating area was clean. Over by the counter I did notice a fly or two. The kitchen area is block from direct customer view. The customer service was pretty good. I let the cashier know it was my first time here and he went over the menu and suggest a few recommendations. I went with fried and buffalo chicken tenders with a side of fried, Amy Ice Cream, and their Green Tea, which from the reviews is supposed to be epic. My wait was a out 10 minutes wore I had everything put together. I’m going to cut to the chase, the chicken was disappointing and it wasn’t tender and once I tasted past the breading it was bland tasting. The buffalo chicken tenders had more fly or than the fried chicken, up then that’s the point of adding hit sauce and most things, to add flavor. Put it this way I won’t be back here for the chicken. I’ll mention that I did notice a hair longer than any I keep on my face in between my chicken and the breading. I spared y’all the picture because it was gross and it was my last bite and I was in denial. The Amy Ice Cream was A OK. I had the Oreo flavor, strawberry and Mexican vanilla flavors. I’ll skip past this since this isn’t a review on Amy’s Ice Cream. The green tea did live up to the hype, this I can recommend and it’s worth coming back for. The fries was bleh. Nothing to write about, but it was crispy just not very flavorful. Overall I was Unilocal-winked this meal was far from a 5 star experience. If you want great fried chicken check out Gus’ fried chicken.

Now with Amy’s ice cream!!! The shakes are 9nly available on weekends right now, but you can get a dish of several flavors of ice cream. The green tea is amazing. The original sauce with the chicken tenders is a favorite. If you’re feeling overly sinful with the green tea and ice cream, they serve wonderful salads with a raspbery vinaigrette that tastes great!

Food was outstanding! Staff was great. The green tea is to die for! Also make sure to try the homemade ranch. Try dipping your chicken or fries into it. I do not typically love ranch dressing but a huge fan of theirs. Did not get to try the cornbread side but will try that next time. Great place

I read reviews on Unilocal and decided to go out on this rainy Saturday and see if the food and green tea were as good as the reviews said they are. And the reviews were right: this place is terrific! I got the fried chicken strips with fries and southwestern sauce. I had the green tea to drink. The chicken strips were hot, fresh, and not greasy. The sauce was delicious and the fries were cripsy. The green tea infused with lime was really delicisous. Its a little on the sweet side which will appeal to most people. I don’t drink sweet drinks but I did enjoy half of the tea before the sweetness was a little much. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful. All in all a good experience and I will go back!

5 stars for their chicken tenders baskets! I mean it! If you want chicken tenders, you can get them fried, grilled and buffalo flavored with a side of toast and fries or onion rings. By far the best in cedar park(sorry PDQ) and it’s the only«fast food» my Bf and I will even eat. Love, love, love this place :)

Y’know, this might be my favorite fried chicken in the Austin area.(Gus’s is my other favorite.) They’re positively evil because they’re less than 3 miles away from where I work, so I tend to him them up about every other week. There goes my waistline! They have the juciest chicken tenders, delicious seasoned onion rings, and the crunchiest fries. You can get a box with 3, 4, or 5 tenders, plus they have all kinds of sandwiches and whatnot. I would suggest going with the smaller box — it’s really a lot of food. I’ve only tried the fried chicken, though I’m sure the grilled and buffalo options are great, as well. They even have corn cakes, fried okra, and fresh-baked cookies. Don’t forget — they have a drive-thru, too, so if you’re in a rush, or want to eat at home, you can.(My husband and I have utilized that option numerous times.) Go forth and enjoy the chicken, kids.
