Excellent biscuits and hot tasty coffee! A nice neighborhood gem with outdoor seating perfect for a weekend brunch.

This was one of the first places my boyfriend and I decided to check out once we moved to the area. He thought the name was charming, and it was very close to our house(considering where we are in Pittsboro). So we checked it out on of our first mornings in town, and were happy with it! The girl at the front counter is very sweet. I wish there was a bit more variety to the menu, because what they do have is great. The amount of meat you get in a biscuit sandwich makes the price worth it. You definitely aren’t getting a McDonald’s breakfast, you’re getting real, good food. So once in a while when we have a day off together and don’t feel like making breakfast, we’ll go get breakfast biscuit sandwiches from Fig and Honey. My boyfriend also likes their coffee.

I’ve wanted to try Fig and Honey since they opened but the location is in the middle of nowhere for me. Found myself in the area one Saturday afternoon and thought I would try them out. The place is super cute and the counter service was pleasant. The menu is on the small side with a lot of un-original options. I went with«The Fig” — grilled provolone cheese with bacon and fig preserves and an order of homemade chips… Not good… With so much fig jam piled high it was a sticky, sweet mess and you couldn’t taste anything else. I scrapped off as much as I could just to finish it. I think with a lot less jam and maybe some sliced apples they might have a decent sandwich but nothing could help those poor chips… very bland. The place was hopping when I went so maybe I ordered the wrong thing but after my first experience and lackluster lunch menu I will not be returning.

Hours say closing at 3 today. Got there at 1:15, Staff on the way out the door, said they are closing early for the football game. Thanks.

They’re dedicated to targeting suburbanites who don’t know any better. Overly concerned with projecting an image in direct contrast with what it is, which is: processed, decidedly not«from scratch» food served in plastic to-go containers. Don’t be fooled by cute chalkboards and inflated prices.

The same day I posted this review one of the owners of Fig and Honey reached out to me with an explanation for my poor experience Sunday. I thought I’d share with you. Their phone system is set up(unfortunately) to play the message I described above if the line is busy. It doesn’t mean you’re calling the wrong number. The restaurant phone system just can’t handle more than one call at a time. Their sausage provider didn’t deliver as scheduled, which explains why they were out of sausage on a Sunday morning. The owner acknowledged I shouldn’t have been charged and apologized for the inconvenience and frustration I experienced. And finally, just from my own experience, it seems like they have a revolving door for new front-counter assistants, which means new people constantly learning new skills. This can result in mixed up orders and getting charged for sausage. This is an unbiased update. I was offered a gift card, which I think was fair, but chose not to accept it because I am a little bit over Fig and Honey and will maybe try again in a few months when I feel the biscuit cravings start surging again. Because of the owner’s responsive message I’ve decided to up my rating from a 2 to a 3, however. Customer service is one of those things you take for granted until it doesn’t quite work, and then you realize what an important«ingredient» it is for a successful restaurant.

Best I can say is… eh?! Ordered a BLT with pimento cheese but was told they were out of the cheese(this was not a special, but part of the regular menu) Long wait for the food, and nothing exciting when it arrived. Sandwiches had too much mayo, not enough bacon and a few sparse pieces of wilted lettuce I found it VERY overpriced. $ 24.50 for two BLT’s, 2 water’s(charged $ 1 each!!?) and a small bag of popcorn. I did overhear the waitress saying they were short a cook, and closing early because of it, so that could explain the long wait and so-so food. May be worth another try, though those prices may keep me away

We placed a catering order through Fig & Honey and they were less than impressive. Our events manager ordered double the chicken but they forgot a whole pan of it. They did bring it by and offer 15% off next time but it was clear there was some communication breakdown. The mac and cheese was pooled in butter but I didn’t get a serious cheese factor — it basically looked like penne noodles with a little cheddar sprinkled on top. The chicken was really dry and far from warm — the least they could have done was offer some extra sauce. Overall, I wasn’t that impressed even though the name sounded oh so inviting. Maybe a visit would be more worth it but if catering a bigger party, I’d pass on this one.

The chef/owner is an ornery, nasty man… he looks at you as if he is almost daring you to eat his over-priced food. If you watch him while he’s wiping the sweat off of his face and simultaneously making your sandwich — it should be enough for you to lose your appetite. And then he’ll walk around and glare at people… Take a peek at their numerous critical inspection violations(North Carolina Public Health Inspections Establishments). They’re trying to catch a cool, hipster crowd with funky décor, but real foodies can see through it. As others have stated(poor service aside) the food is mediocre at best. Just because you place an avocado on it, doesn’t make it artisanal.

First they had items in the menu that were not available like the gravy! Really? Second they didn’t have soda or fountain drinks just some local stuffs that I’ve never heard about! No diet drinks and no refills! The tea was not ready! The biscuits were massive and tasted good but I don’t think it was enough to make me come back here again. By the way too expensive for what it is!

This place is just plain solid. Everything is good, from the fried chicken to the falafel. Where else can you get hashbrowns, grits and biscuits for breakfast and then a shake, beef kofta and house chips for lunch, all scratch made? Nowhere, that’s where.

As much as I want this place to be a success because the area really needs more gourmet, fresh food eateries as opposed to the commonplace fast food joints in the area, the front end service really needs an overhaul. That’s my only reason for giving it 3 stars. I must say, the food is fantastic. Everything my family has tried has been flavorful, delicious and the owners have a great sense of combining ingredients. My order was screwed up 4 out of the last 5 times that I’ve gone there for take out. I’ve learned to stay out of there during main meal times. The front end staff which there is not enough of has forgotten to put my order through on the phone, has forgotten to put the entire order in the takeout bag, and has on 2 occasions told me that the order would be ready in 20 – 25 minutes for one sandwich. When I arrived 20 minutes later on both occasions, the sandwich was COLD. Clearly it had been sitting there for a while. before that we went with friends for breakfast, ordered together and we had finished our meals by the time my friends got their corrected order. Not a nice way to enjoy a meal with friends. I hope the owners read this and can better train the front end staff bc it will be a much better experience. Again, the food is fantastic, but the service irritatingly bad and it’s going to effect their business.

Second time here. I’d give it a 2.5 stars Came for lunch. I really want this place to make it. It has potential. Today it was not great. Customer service needs a overhaul. Get that owner chef in the kitchen not at the counter, assuming that’s who was helping us. Not even a hello when we walked in. It’s was unorganized behind the counter, perhaps it’s the set up? Maybe let customers get their water and tea? Asking 3 times for our water was awkward. Cold case was bare. I was really hoping for some fresh salads. It’s spring after all, and great salads for the summer months would a be smart addition to the menu. I opted for a chicken salad sandwich it was okay, nothing special. Friend had a gyro, it was okay. My chips were cold and old, I returned them and they were quickly replaced. Outside area needs sun sail shades. Hope they find their groove.

Came here for lunch with wife. I had a large gyro that was outstanding! It filled me up and was very very good. My wife had the BLT. Although I am not sure that would have filled me up it was very good as well. There are no sides with the sandwich which is slightly disappointing but we ordered the fries. One order is enough for 2 – 4 people! They were delicious and we had the spicy ranch dipping sauce. The location is good and the inside is neat and nice. They have a nice patio with picnic tables. The menu situation is a bit odd as it is on a blackboard on a wall that you do not see when you walk in. They also have specials on a small blackboard on the counter and salads in a cooler. Service was good and friendly. They serve beer and wine and specialty sodas. For a fifth star for us there really is nothing for kids on the menu and it is a bit on pricey side. Overall great tho and we will return.

Nice and quaint little spot to stop for breakfast. I was greeted with a smile as soon as I walked in. Servers were very friendly and had good recommendations. Ordered the Standard egg, cheese and sausage biscuit with a side of grits. There’s nothing standard about it. Definitely tasty and I can see why it’s a favorite. Grits were really really good too. The only problem I could see this place having is having to wait too long during rush times. This place is very small and can fit maybe 20 – 25 people. I happen to come in at 10:30 so it was fine for me but just a heads up. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of their food.

I’ve heard about Fig and Honey from a few of our friends and finally had a chance to have a meal there. The menu has quite a few options, but our party tried the beef kabobs and a BLT w/pimento cheese. We were glad we tried both since allowed us to try different items on the menu. The best I saved for last. They were running a dessert special, which was baked apples, freshly made whipped cream, caramel, and homemade shortbread. It was unbelievably tasty. The service was great too. We had a few questions about the menu for the staff and they were overly accommodating and helpful. We got our food quickly. Will be coming back for sure.

Its great to have a new trendy little eatery in or area but I was honestly a little disappointed. We ordered two basic sandwiches and they were between $ 7-$ 8 each and didn’t come with any sides. I had a BLT and my wife had their Fig sandwich. We shared a side of their homemade chips. The BLT was very basic and thin and definitely not worth the price. The Fig sandwich was tasty though. I think they have a good one there. Unfortunately I think the prices are high for the location they’re in. If they were in Chapel Hill or Durham the prices would be more suitable. Not sure about Chatham County though. Overall this was a «meh» experience. I’m sure we’ll go back at some point but we probably won’t be in a hurry to get back!

I’m a falafel fiend, so if falafel is on the menu it becomes my litmus test for the eatery. Fig & Honey has falafel in pita on the menu and while there were other things I would have loved to order– like the grilled cheese with bacon and fig preserves– I just had to try it. It didn’t disappoint. I ordered the whole falafel which was four pieces of falafel stuffed into pita with a crisp salad and a tzatziki sauce that I could have eaten alone in a bowl with a spoon. The falafel was shaped in a disk the diameter of a golf ball, not in the typical free-form, flattened meatball. At first I thought this wasn’t a good sign– frozen maybe? But I don’t think so. The things that makes falafel so wonderful is the contrast; crispy on the outside, cake-like on the inside, served piping hot and topped with a cool sauce. Fig & Honey’s falafel had all of that, perfect crispiness outside and with a soft, cake like interior. My only wish is that there was more falafel in the order, two in each pita felt skimpy. Overall, the space is modern and cozy. It was later afternoon on a Saturday and there was a steady stream of people. Fig & Honey also offers classes and catering. I don’t get to that side of Chapel Hill often, but I plan on making an effort to go back, checking out more of the menu and updating this review.

Stopped by while driving through town this past weekend and happened to find this new gem. From the outside and looking in the location has a very comforting feel. The menu had a number of options, but I decided to go with the bacon grilled cheese and fries. What a winner! The grilled cheese was perfectly grilled with crisp bacon and just the right amount of cheese. A perfect Sunday meal. The fries were also crisp and plentiful. See attached picture. I also recommended trying their milkshakes. WOW! The service was also great as Fig and Honey has a great local feel. The place was pretty crowded and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. The owners even came out to check on patrons throughout the meal. I highly recommended Fig and Honey if you are in the area.

I stopped by Fig and Honey for the first time yesterday for lunch and had the bacon burger, fries, and a chocolate shake… It was incredible … ESPECIALLY the shake. They are a new place in the neighborhood, and I was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. The burger was larger than expected and had plenty of bacon and cheese. The beef was perfectly cooked, juicy, and had a lot of flavor! The bun was the right size and held it all together. Like I said earlier, the chocolate shake was amazing, and made me feel good about the decision to have one over lunch. It was creamy, had plenty of chocolate flavor and was consistently thick throughout. A lot of times a shake will turn into a soupy liquid, but this shake was not the case. If you’re in the neighborhood definitely stop by and try out fig and honey. You won’t be disappointed.
